Background: All the patients with Angina pectoris have not stenotic coronary artery. Syndrome x consists of patients with Angina pectoris and positive Exercise test along with normal coronary angiography. Syndrome x includes 25-30 percent of those who undergo diagnostic coronary arteriography at the different centers. In our study it was attempted to know the prevalence and characteristics of this special group in Afshar cath-lab. Materials and Methods: In a prospective cross sectional descriptive study 200 patients who were admitted for coronary angiography evaluated in terms of Risk factors: HTN, Family history Hyperlipidemia, DM, Cigarette smoking , clinical symptoms , response to TNG, different symptoms, ECG and Exercise test. data in two subgroups with normal and abnormal Coronary angioghraphy were compared. Six patients were excluded because of ambiguous Coronary angiography. Results: Among 194 patients 51 patients (26.3% )had normal coronary artery. 38.9% of female and 21.4% of males showed normal coronary angioghraphy (P = 0.013). The prevalence of risk factors among those with syndrome x and abnormal coronary Artery were as follow. HTN 37% vs 42% , Hyperlipidemia 50% vs 51% , smoking 25% vs 37% , DM 12% vs 28% , obesity 45% vs 47% Positive family history for CAD = 21.5% vs 47% respectively. Angina relieved suitably with TNG in 24% of those with syndrome x compared to 76% suitable response in those with abnormal coronary arteries.(P Value = 0.49 ). Regarding to functional class , 87% of patients with normal coronary artery belonged to class I and II. also 26% had atypical pain 50% had normal rest ECG and 51% achieved stage III or IV of Bruce protocol during Exercise test. Conclusion: Syndrome x was more prevalent among women ,also angina was less typical and less responsive to TNG. Most patients had not positive familial history for CAD. normal ECG was more prevalent among those with syndrome x .

The issue of reliability in power electronic converters (PECs) has received comparatively less attention by researchers. Among PECs, the multilevel inverter is a favourite choice of industry in the area of medium-voltage and high-power uses. To study the reliability of PECs, first, the failure rates of elements such as diodes, capacitors, and switches are introduced based on a relevant standard. Then, the reliability indices of two converters, 3-level and 5-level neutral point clamped, are calculated and compared. A global challenge of increasing concern is diminishing fresh water resources. A growing practice in many communities to supplement diminishing fresh water availability has been the reuse of water. Novel methods of treating polluted waters, such as membrane assisted technologies, have recently been developed and successfully implemented in many places. Given the diversity of membrane assisted technologies available, the current challenge is how to select a reliable alternative among numerous technologies for appropriate water reuse. In this research, a fuzzy logic based multi-criteria, group decision making tool has been developed. This tool has been employed in the selection of appropriate membrane treatment technologies for several non-potable and potable reuse scenarios. Robust criteria, covering technical, environmental, economic and socio-cultural aspects, were selected, while 10 different membrane assisted technologies were assessed in the tool. The results show this approach capable of facilitating systematic and rigorous analysis in the comparison and selection of membrane assisted technologies for advanced wastewater treatment and reuse., (Copyright © 2015 Elsevier Ltd. Objective: To compare anatomical variations in sinusitis patients and control subjects., Subjects and Methods: We reviewed and compared the computed tomography (CT) scans of 87 sinusitis patients after adequate medical treatment and scans of 103 healthy subjects. All images were scored for sinusitis severity using the Lund-Mackay scoring system. Anatomical variations such as septal deviation, concha bullosa, presence of the Haller's cell, paradoxical middle turbinate, prominent agger nasi cell, and Onodi cell were also recorded., Results: Of the 190 evaluated CT images, 55.2% of the cases and 47.6% of the controls had septal deviation (p > 0.05). The prevalence of concha bullosa was 68% in patients and 61% in controls (p > 0.05)., Conclusion: There were no significant differences in the evaluated anatomical variations between cases and controls in this study. Mucosal inflammation may play a more essential role than anatomical variation in the development of sinusitis.
