International audience; Nomex honeycomb structures are attracting increasing interest from many industrial sectors andtheir use is becoming more widespread. These structures are widely used in sandwich materials aslightweight structures having good mechanical properties. Due to its manufacture the machining ofNomex honeycomb structures present many technical and scientific problems, specifically the lowthickness of the walls constituting the honeycomb cells, the composite nature of the paper forming theNomex and low density of this type of these structures. The objective of this work is to implement ascientifically rigorous approach to predict and analyze the machinability of this type of material. Avalidation of the model was made through experimental studies with different cutting conditions.Then, a follow-up of the cutting forces and observations of the machined surface quality, using theisotropic elastoplastic approach.

This work presents numerical results of turbulent forced convection in a horizontal channel provided with heating two baffles mounted on its lower wall. The upper and lower surfaces are maintained at the high temperature and the fluid inlet temperature is lower than the temperature of the walls. Calculations are made by using a finite volume method and an efficient numerical procedure is introduced for studying the effect of inclination angles on heat transfer and flow field for air and high Reynolds number. Results are reported in terms of streamlines, isotherms and local Nusselt numbers. Overall, we can conclude that the results of the study show that the inclination angles of the heated plate alter significantly the temperature distribution, the flow field and the heat transfer in channel.
