22. Impact of Predator-Driven Allee and Spatiotemporal Effect on a Simple Predator–Prey Model.

Abstract

In this research paper, we consider a Leslie–Gower Reaction–Diffusion (RD) model with a predator-driven Allee term in the prey population. We derive conditions for the existence of nontrivial solutions, uniform boundedness, local stability at co-existing equilibrium points, and Hopf bifurcation criteria from the temporal system. We identify sufficient conditions for Turing instability with no-flux boundary condition for the spatial system. Our investigation delves into the analysis of diffusion-induced Turing instability, incorporating stability conditions for the constant steady-state in the spatial model. We also investigate the conditions for the existence and nonexistence of nonconstant steady states in the diffusion-induced model. During numerical simulations, we observe that the predator-driven Allee term is essential for the model to generate Turing structures. Our findings reveal intriguing properties within the RD system, demonstrating its ability to produce patterns within the Turing domain. The simulation confirms that cold–hot spots and stripes-like patterns (a mixture of spots and strips) arises for different strengths of the predation parameter and Allee parameter. In contrast, we observe that for the above threshold value of the Allee parameter, the above-mentioned patterns may disappear from the system. Interestingly, we also observe that the stationary system produces patterns for both large and small amplitudes of perturbation in the vicinity of the Turing boundary. Abstract

In the present paper we study a tri-trophic Lotka-Volterra food web model with omnivory and predator switching. We observe that if the intensity of predator switching increases the chaotic behavior of the omnivory model will be reduced. We conclude that the predator switching mechanism enhances the stability of an otherwise chaotic system.

32. Stability and bifurcation analysis of an eco-epidemiological model with prey refuge.

Abstract

In this paper, we propose and analyse a predator-prey model with disease in prey. We assume that a portion of healthy prey takes refuge to avoid predation. We find the biologically feasible equilibrium points and their stability criteria by using linearization technique. We also perform Hopf bifurcation analysis around the co-existing equilibrium point. We use substantial numerical simulation to verify our theoretical results and to investigate rich dynamics that are not possible to achieve analytically. We illustrate rich dynamics such as Hopf bifurcation. chaos, bistability, and others using one and two parameter bifurcation diagrams. We find that disease invasion in prey can produce chaos by inducing period-doubling bifurcation. but refuge can reduce chaos by causing period-halving bifurcation. We also observe that refuge can reduce the prevalence of disease in the Prey population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

41. Structure Property Correlation of Gravity Die-Cast and Rheocast Al–Mg–Sc–Zr in situ Nano-TiB2Composite

Abstract

The present study investigates the structure-property relationship of gravity die-cast and rheocast in situ processed 1wt%TiB2/Al-3.5Mg-0.15Sc-0.075Zr composites. The reinforcement was synthesized via the reaction of fluoride salts (K2TiF6and KBF4) in the melt at 750 °C for an hour. The cooling slope technique was used for rheocasting, wherein the melt (pouring temperature of 700 °C) was allowed to flow over the cooling slope at an angle of 60°. Thereafter, all samples (gravity die cast and rheocast) were aged at 300 °C for 5 h. Microstructural characterization, hardness measurements, tensile tests, and fractography were necessary supplements to this investigation. The results obtained from this investigation infer: (a) The presence of nano-TiB2particles increases the ductility (15%) of the gravity die-cast specimens; (b) rheocasting increases the strength of the specimen due to transformation from dendritic to equiaxed dendritic morphology and uniform particle distribution (reduced agglomeration). (c) Rheocast and aged specimens show maximum strength and adequate ductility due to the combined effects of structure refinement, reduced agglomeration, and the formation of fine precipitates.
