In this paper, simulation of a mono crystalline silicon solar cell was done using PC1D software. The impact of different solar cell parameters, with their effects on power and efficiency, has been investigated. It is seen that the textured surface reduces reflection and increases the efficiency of the solar cell at least 2–3%. From the simulation, it is seen that the optimum value of p-type doping concentration 1 × 10^16 cm^−3, n-type doping concentration 5 × 10^18 cm with pyramid height of 2–3 μm and equal angles of 54.74 degrees produces the best result in simulation. An anti-reflective coating with a refractive index of 1.38 and a thickness of 84 nm is considered optimal. By optimizing the effective parameters, a solar cell with an efficiency of 24.45% was achieved through simulation. For a p-type mono crystalline silicon wafer, with an area of 10 × 10 cm^2 and a thickness of 200 μm, initial simulation shows a 24.45% efficient solar cell.

Weightless sagging elasto-flexible cables lack unique natural state. However, heavy cables are assumed their natural state under their self-weight for predicting their static and dynamic response. In most of the existing literatures the nodal coordinates or placements are generally defined in reference to the chosen Cartesian coordinate system for the discrete formulation called here Placement Model. In this paper, Placement Model is applied to predict the seismic response of weightless sagging cables. The cable is fixed at their both the ends and two masses are attached in its intermediate points leading to a 2-node 4-DOF system. The dynamic response of the cable node is investigated by applying two different seismic excitations in three different conditions as only horizontal excitation, only vertical excitation and both horizontal and vertical excitation act simultaneously. El-Centro and Loma Preta Seismic excitation is applied to predict the seismic response of the cables.

Human-caused global warming and water/air contamination are important environmental pollution and climate change problems. These problems are being exacerbated by the improper discharge of a substantial number of agro-forest by-products, dyes, heavy metal ions, pesticides, pharmaceutical waste products, and volatile organic products, which can contribute to global warming, and their inappropriate waste management contributes to environmental pollution. The transformation of these waste materials into useful smart materials such as activated carbon (AC) is a potential waste management and environmental remediation technique. ACs are made from a variety of agricultural wastes and have been widely employed as adsorbents for decades. Various physical and chemical treatments can be used to bring different functions to their surface. The basic features of AC, as well as the surface chemistry that results from physical and chemical treatment, are discussed in this chapter. The adsorption process, several adsorption isotherms, and adsorption kinetics are also discussed. There is also a brief description of the mechanisms of adsorption onto AC. Finally, the most likely applications of AC are discussed, including adsorption of pollutants, catalytic support, energy storage, and use in the food and pharmaceutical sectors.

Antibodies of IgA isotype effectively engage myeloid effector cells for cancer immunotherapy. Here, we describe preclinical studies with an Fc engineered IgA2m(1) antibody containing the variable regions of the EGFR antibody cetuximab. Compared with wild-type IgA2m(1), the engineered molecule lacked two N-glycosylation sites (N166 and N337), two free cysteines (C311 and C472), and contained a stabilized heavy and light chain linkage (P221R mutation). This novel molecule displayed improved production rates and biochemical properties compared with wild-type IgA. In vitro, Fab- and Fc-mediated effector functions, such as inhibition of ligand binding, receptor modulation, and engagement of myeloid effector cells for antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity, were similar between wild-type and engineered IgA2. The engineered antibody displayed lower levels of terminal galactosylation leading to reduced asialoglycoprotein-receptor binding and to improved pharmacokinetic properties. In a long-term in vivo model against EGFR-positive cancer cells, improved serum half-life translated into higher efficacy of the engineered molecule, which required myeloid cells expressing human FcαRI for its full efficacy. However, Fab-mediated effector functions contributed to the in vivo efficacy because the novel IgA antibody demonstrated therapeutic activity also in non-FcαRI transgenic mice. Together, these results demonstrate that engineering of an IgA antibody can significantly improve its pharmacokinetics and its therapeutic efficacy to inhibit tumor growth in vivo. Relative Quantitation of N-glycan structures.

Affordable manufacturing along with high efficiency perovskite solar cell in photovoltaic technology has everyone's attention. Perovskite, which is in the lead role in solar cells, is full of characteristics such as high absorption coefficient, low exciton binding energy, charge carrier capable of having better mobility as well as more diffusion length and availability in suitable energy band. The application of machine learning technology is proving to be a boon to ensure optimum implementation with different properties in photovoltaic device, design, simple construction process and low-cost price. Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence which includes large data aggregation, precise structure property installation, demonstration and final model after model validation. The most of the source of database is the simulation and experimental results, calculations and related literature surveys which have a comprehensive compilation of the performance of hybrid perovskite device, collection of structures and properties of elements. Structure-property relationship installation comes under feature engineering which establishes a clear relationship between structure and the properties. In other demonstration process, proper algorithms are selected, data is generated and tested as well as pure estimated values are taken. This article contains a detailed discussion on the involvement of machine learning technology to build high-performance Perovskite solar cells. Proper selection as well as designing of active perovskite absorbent layer by machine learning successfully establishes results by including other parts such as non-toxic (lead free) and stability. Mature machine learning technology becomes a very essential method in determining the solvent combination of hybrid perovskite and in estimating design of the entire solar cell to ensure optimum implementation in the sector of perovskite solar technology. Finally, a phased concept has been briefly discussed to meet the challenges of machine learning and potential future compatibilities related to the prevalence.

Recently, organic-inorganic perovskite-based solar cells have become a revolution in photovoltaic field due to their unique properties. Several studies were focused on perovskite solar cells based on Pb perovskite layer as lead provides strong absorption of photons and have high efficiency. However, the factor of toxicity, stability and ecological challenges of these devices is the main challenge to the progress in commercial production. In this, study and numerical modeling of perovskite solar cells using an alternative candidate which is tin as a perovskite material has been carried out. This later is investigated in order to overcome the toxicity, stability and ecological challenges effects on perovskite solar cells, as they exhibit similar photovoltaic performances as Pb-perovskite solar cells. Therefore, the effect of single and double absorbent i.e. CH3NH3SnI3 and CH3NH3SnBr3 and no Hole Transport Layer is studied and investigated to enhance the conversion efficiency of perovskite devices. The obtained simulation results illustrate that perovskite solar cells based on no HTL and double absorbent layer exhibit 21.3% of power conversion efficiency compared to that with other HTL materials. Thus, adding double absorbent layer in perovskite solar cell design possibly will be considered as novel designing for future Sn-perovskite solar cells. The numerical simulation was performed using 1DSolar Cell Capacitance Simulator (1D- SCAPS).

III- Nitride materials have radically changed the lighting industry allowing for the developments of high efficiency and brightness ultraviolet LED. In this paper, the characterised between electroluminescence spectra pick wavelength and QW thickness through simulations with presence on electric field. According the QCSE when electric field applied perpendicular to the QWs layers resulted in large read shifts in absorption. I have taken One Dimensional Drift Diffusion charge control solver (1D-DDCC) software for simulations that is solve Passion Schrodinger equation developed by Pro.Yuh-Renn WU of UM. This solver has many functions like- Tunnable parameters for all basic material, Hetrojunction simulation, Dopant activation energy, Eigen solve for Schrodinger equation.

Inverted Bulk heterojunctions (Ag/MoO3/PCDTBT-PC70BM/ZnO/ITO) Organic Solar cells, based on Organic (Polymer) materials is fabricated and characterized in this work. PCDTBT-PC70BM was synthesized by chloroform, chlorobenzene and o-dichlorobenzene (organic solvent). Surface morphology of ZnO and PCDTBT-PC70BM were studied. Bulk heterojunctions of active material are formed by the mixture of PCDTBT donor and PC70BM an acceptor in a random manner. For Sufficient transportation of charge carrier (electron and hole), hole transport (HT) and electron transport (ET) layers was deposited. ZnO is used as an ETM and synthesized by using Sol-Gel technique. MoO3 thin film deposited over the active material, enhances hole transformation because of band gap tuning with Ag and active materials. Absorbance and Photoluminescence spectra of polymer material with different organic solvents were studied and results were discussed in this work. o-dichlorobenzene enhance the absorption of PCDTBT/PC70BM. At 400 nm, 90% of sun light is absorbed, and 70% absorption is figure out in 500- 550nm wavelength. The Photo-luminescence of PCDTBT/PC70BM thin film in different organic solvents is ranging from 650nm to 750nm. At 700nm, 20% is shown for chloroform, 40% for chlorobenzene and highest 80% is achieved by o-dichlorobenzene. J-V value is obtained from a solar simulator which irradiates the sun spectrum 1.5 AM, for all the devices having cell area 0.045 cm2. For concentration (1:1) ratio in different organic solvents like chloroform, chlorobenzene and o-dichlorobenzene, (3.5, 4.2, and 5.8) %, PCE were obtained respectively.

Research of lead-free Perovskite based solar cells has gained speedy and growing attention with urgent intent to eliminate toxic lead in Perovskite materials. The main purpose of this work is to supplement the research progress with comparative analysis of different lead-free Perovskite based solar cells by numerical simulation method using solar cell capacitance simulator (SCAPS-1D) software. The environmental friendliness and excellent thermal stability proves Cesium Tin Iodide (CsSnI3) as one of the promising materials for the commercialization of the Perovskite solar cells. However, CsSnI3 solar cells suffer from poor efficiency due to having low open-circuit voltage, VOC attributed to poor absorber film quality as well as energy level mismatch at the interfaces between different layers like transparent front contact. The architecture of the solar cell is n-i-p device structure acts as light CsSnI3 absorber active layer, TiO2 as electron transport layer and Spiro-OMeTAD as hole transport layer with device structure FTO/ TiO2/CsSnI3 / Spiro-OMeTAD /Au. The open circuit voltage Voc, short circuit current density Isc, fill factor and power conversion efficiency Voc=1.09V, Jsc=28.85mA/cm2, FF=88.65%, eta=28.09%, V_MPP=0.99V, J_MPP=28.15 mA/cm2 respectively.

Semi-transparent perovskite solar cells have significant potential for their use in tandem solar cells with silicon (Si) or copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) materials. Light management and optical design are important for developing a highly efficient solar cell. Herein, numerical simulation of a perovskite/silicon tandem solar cell was performed using a Matlab analytical program. The single-diode model for a solar cell is used for simulation with ideal working conditions. The tandem solar cell is comprised of two configurations which are the thin film-based perovskite solar cell on top and a wafer-based silicon solar cell on the bottom, and the silicon sub-cell with silicon nitride (SiNx) anti-reflection coatings (ARC) in series-connected configuration. The material properties like energy bandgap, diffusion length, doping concentration are considered for calculating the device parameters. The bandgap and thickness of the perovskite material, refractive indices, photon flux, and wavelength of light are varied to calculate voltage, current, quantum efficiency, and other parameters of the tandem solar cell. The silicon sub-cell with silicon nitride (SiNx) anti-reflection coatings (ARC) in series-connected configuration decreased the reflectivity and increased the overall voltage and current of the tandem cell. The double-layer ARC films have increased the efficiency up to 1%. The efficiency of the two-terminal tandem device is found out to be over 32%. This work provides a pathway for further enhancing the power conversion efficiency of perovskite/Si tandem cells.

Perovskite solar cells are among the highly efficient devices with a power conversion efficiency of over 25% due to their outstanding optoelectronic properties like bandgap tunability, high light absorption coefficient, and long diffusion length. A highly efficient perovskite solar cell is fabricated under a controlled inert atmosphere. Perovskite solar cell’s stability is influenced by ambient atmosphere parameters like air, water, light and temperature which prevent industrial deployment. The translation of lab-scale to industrial-scale production requires fabricating perovskite solar cells in an ambient environment. The morphology and crystallization of perovskite thin film is also influenced by ambient environment. Large-scale manufacturing of these solar cells requires a scientific understanding of the crystallization process, fabrication process, and industrial compatibility. The proper study of the influence of ambient environment on morphology and crystallization process is necessary to fabricate highly efficient and stable perovskite solar cell in ambient conditions. The packaging of perovskite solar cell is also an important part to prevent the degradation of device. There is a need to adopt standard protocols like ISOS protocols for stability tests and to understand the properties of perovskite solar cell properly. In this paper, the influence of water, air, temperature, light and packaging on the perovskite solar cells will be discussed. The processing techniques of air-processed perovskite solar cells will be discussed. ISOS protocols will be discussed for assessing the stability of perovskite solar cells. The standard protocols would make advancements in the perovskite solar technology and help to translate lab-scale devices to industrial scale for commercialization.

Neurodegenerative disorders (NDDs) are caused by progressive loss of functional neurons following the aggregation and fibrillation of proteins in the central nervous system. The incidence rate continues to rise alarmingly worldwide, particularly in aged population, and the success of treatment remains limited to symptomatic relief. Graphene nanomaterials (GNs) have attracted immense interest on the account of their unique physicochemical and optoelectronic properties. The research over the past two decades has recognized their ability to interact with aggregation-prone neuronal proteins, regulate autophagy and modulate the electrophysiology of neuronal cells. Graphene can prevent the formation of higher order protein aggregates and facilitate the clearance of such deposits. In this review, after highlighting the role of protein fibrillation in neurodegeneration, we have discussed how GN-protein interactions can be exploited for preventing neurodegeneration. A comprehensive understanding of such interactions would contribute to the exploration of novel modalities for controlling neurodegenerative processes.

Perovskite solar cells fabricated with inexpensive and simple technology exhibits high efficiency has witnessed worldwide boom in research. The optimization of solar cell can be done through modeling and simulation. The optical and electrical modeling are the ways to optimize different parameter such as thickness, defect density, doping density and material selection for fabricating stable and highly efficient perovskite solar cells. In this research work, electrical modeling of solar cell is done throughSolar Cell Capacitance Simulator(SCAPS-1D).The architecture of the solar cell is n-i-p device structure. CH3NH3PbI3-xClx acts as light absorber active layer, TiO2 as electron transport layer and Spiro-OMeTADas hole transport layer with device structure FTO/ TiO2/ CH3NH3PbI3-xClx/ Spiro-OMeTAD/Au. The open circuit voltage Voc, short circuit current density Isc, fill factor and power conversion efficiency are 1.28 V, 21.63 mA/cm2, 0.78 and 21.53% respectively. The result showed that the optimize parameter can be applied for fabrication of the solar cell experimentally. Various metal contact materials of the anodeare also studied and analyzed.

Controlling the PV array to generate the maximum power at certain environment conditions, the efficiency of the PV generation system could be improved. Using control algorithms, the PV array can operate at the maximum power point. This self-optimization process is referred as Maximum power point tracking (MPPT). A maximum power point tracker (MPPT) is a power electronic DC-DC converter inserted between the PV array and its load to achieve optimum matching. Researchers have studied and developed numerous methods and used many algorithms to track the Maximum power point of PV Module and extract maximum power using MPPT technique. This review article accumulates various algorithms through which MPPT could be attained and assists the researchers to understand the principle of their working. The paper also gives an idea to about less explored DC appliances and their viabilities in existing and proposed DC system.

Perovskite solar cells are emerging photovoltaic devices with PCE of above 25%. Perovskite are suitable light absorber materials in solar cells with excellent properties like appropriate band gap energy, long carrier lifetime and diffusion length, and high extinction coefficient. Simulation study is an important technique to understand working mechanisms of perovskites solar cells. The study would help develop efficient, stable PSCs experimentally. In this study, modeling of perovskite solar cell was carried out through Setfos software. The optimization of different parameters of layer structure of solar cell would help to achieve maximum light absorption in the perovskite layer of solar cell. Simulation study is based drift-diffusion model to study the different parameters of perovskite solar cell. Hysteresis is one of the factors in the perovskite solar cell which may influence the device performance. The measurement of abnormal hysteresis can be done by current-voltage curve during backward scan during simulation study. In backward scan, the measurement starts from biasing voltage higher than open circuit voltage and sweep to voltage below zero. The numerical simulation used to study the various parameters like open circuit voltage, short circuit current, fill factor, power conversion efficiency and hysteresis. The simulation results would help to understand the photophysics of solar cell physics which would help to fabricate highly efficient and stable perovskite solar cells experimentally.

In this research, the zinc mixed cadmium sulfide thin films were synthesized on the glass substrate by simple and easy successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) process. The thin films were prepared by different mixing percentage of Zinc with cadmium sulfide. The Zn-CdS films have been characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and optical properties were investigated by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer. X-Ray studies show the hexagonal crystal structure of CdS film. The surface morphology is found different in both annealed and unannealed structure from FESEM image. It is smooth, dense and uniform in structure in case of unannealed condition. And it is non-uniform structure when annealed. The absorbance spectra of pure CdS and Zn mixed CdS has compared and it is observed that Zn-mixed CdS have greater absorbance than pure CdS.
