Two new species of Mimetus Hentz, 1832 are described from India: Mimetus parvulus Sankaran, Sudhin & Sen, 2024 n. sp., and M. spinatus Sudhin, Sankaran & Sen, 2024 n. sp.. Detailed descriptions and illustrations of both species are provided, and their current distribution is mapped. Based on familial and generic similarities, we transfer the misplaced M. tikaderi Gajbe, 1992 to the Liocranidae genus Agroeca Westring, 1861.

The species of the genus Thelcticopis Karsch, 1884 from India, Myanmar, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka are reviewed. Stasina nalandica Karsch, 1892 and S. paripes (Karsch, 1879) are re-transferred to the genus Thelcticopis. Thelcticopis ajax Pocock, 1901, T. bicornuta Pocock, 1901, T. birmanica Thorell, 1895 stat. rev., T. hercules Pocock, 1901, T. moolampilliensis Sunil Jose & Sebastian, 2007, T. nalandica (Karsch, 1892) comb. rest., T. paripes (Karsch, 1879) comb. rest., T. picta (Thorell, 1887), T. rufula Pocock, 1901, T. serambiformis Strand, 1907, and T. virescens Pocock, 1901 are diagnosed, redescribed, and/or illustrated based on type and/or freshly collected material, and their current distributional records are mapped. The female of T. virescens is described for the first time. The type locality of Thelcticopis goramensis (Thorell, 1881) is situated in Indonesia, Maluku, not in Malaysia. Thelcticopis bifasciata (Thorell, 1891), and T. fasciata (Thorell, 1897) are proposed as nomina dubia as the holotypes are immature and their identity cannot be fully elucidated. Thelcticopis ancorum Dyal, 1935 and T. telonotata Dyal, 1935 from Lahore, Punjab are considered species incertae sedis, and the subfamily Sparianthinae is most likely not distributed in Pakistan.

Medmassa Simon, 1887 is recorded for the first time from India, including the description of two new species: M. sagax Tripathi, Kadam & Sankaran sp. nov. (♂ ♀) and M. postica Kadam, Tripathi & Sankaran sp. nov. (♀). The discovery of Medmassa increases the number of known corinnid genera in India to eight. Detailed descriptions and illustrations of the copulatory organs of both species are provided, their natural history is briefly discussed, and a map of the currently known distribution of both species is presented.

The species of the genera Acantholycosa Dahl, 1908, Evippomma Roewer, 1959, Hippasosa Roewer, 1960 and Trochosa C.L. Koch, 1847 described/recorded from India, are reviewed. The following new combinations are recognized: Arctosa dhikala comb. et nom. nov. (ex. Trochosa), Arctosa kalpiensis (Gajbe, 2004) comb. nov. (ex. Hippasosa), Evippa baltoroi (Caporiacco, 1935) comb. nov. (ex. Acantholycosa), Pardosa evippiformis Caporiacco, 1935 comb. rest. (ex. Evippomma), and Pirata punctipes (Gravely, 1924) comb. nov. (ex. Trochosa). Photographs of all the examined type material and supplementary descriptions for A. dhikala comb. et nom. nov., E. baltoroi comb. nov., P. evippiformis comb. rest., and P. punctipes comb. nov. are provided. Lectotypes have been designated for E. baltoroi comb. nov., P. evippiformis comb. rest. and P. punctipes comb. nov. With the new combination for T. punctipes, the genus Pirata Sundevall, 1833 is recorded for the first time in India, and that for A. baltoroi and E. evippiforme show the record of the genera Acantholycosa and Evippomma from India is incorrect.

Indian species of the ant-eating spider genera Asceua Thorell, 1887, Cydrela Thorell, 1873 and Euryeidon Dankittipakul & Jocqué, 2004 are reviewed. The species Asceua cingulata (Simon, 1905) is redescribed and illustrated based on type and freshly collected material and a new species, A. thrippalurense sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on both sexes. All the Indian Cydrela species are transferred back to the genus Capheris Simon, 1893 under which these were originally placed. The species Capheris escheri Reimoser, 1934 comb. rest. and Caph. stillata Simon, 1905 comb. rest. are redescribed and illustrated, the former based on its type specimen, while the latter based on freshly collected material. The species Capheris nitidiceps Simon, 1905 comb. rest. is considered as a nomen dubium due to the immature stage of the holotype. The two Indian species of Euryeidon are transferred to the genus Laminion Sankaran, Caleb & Sebastian, 2020 due to generic similarities. The distribution of all these species is mapped.

The castianeirine species Corinnomma moerens Thorell, 1890, and C. plumosum (Thorell, 1881), both known only from textual descriptions, are redescribed and illustrated based on the type material. Type images for Corinnomma javanum Simon, 1905, C. severum (Thorell, 1887), and C. thorelli Simon, 1905 are presented to facilitate identification along with supplementary descriptions of the types, and the distribution of the species C. simplex Zhang, Jin & Zhang, 2022 is updated.

The species of the genus Hippasa described/recorded from India are reviewed based on type and topotype material. Hippasa pantherina Pocock, 1899 stat. rev. is resurrected from synonymy under Hippasa greenalliae (Blackwall, 1867). The following synonymies are proposed: Hippasa charamaensis Gajbe, 2004 syn. nov., Hippasa madhuae Tikader & Malhotra, 1980 syn. nov., Hippasa pisaurina Pocock, 1900 syn. nov. and Hippasa sinai Alderweireldt & Jocqué, 2005 syn. nov., all synonymised with Hippasa deserticola Simon, 1889. Four species, Hippasa fabreae Gajbe & Gajbe, 1999, H. greenalliae, Hippasa hansae Gajbe & Gajbe, 1999 and Hippasa wigglesworthi Gajbe & Gajbe, 1999 are proposed as nomina dubia. The species Hippasa haryanensis Arora & Monga, 1994 is considered as nomen nudum. All the type material examined are illustrated and supplementary descriptions and illustrations are provided for Hippasa agelenoides (Simon, 1884), H. deserticola, Hippasa himalayensis Gravely, 1924, Hippasa loundesi Gravely, 1924, Hippasa lycosina Pocock, 1900, Hippasa madraspatana Gravely, 1924, H. pantherina and Hippasa valiveruensis Patel & Reddy, 1993.

The selenopid genus Siamspinops Dankittipakul & Corronca, 2009 is recorded for the first time from India. Siamspinops garoensis Kadam, Tripathi & Sankaran, 2022 sp. nov., based on male and female specimens, is described and illustrated in detail. The unknown female of Makdiops shevaroyensis (Gravely, 1931) is described and illustrated for the first time, and a catalogue and distribution maps of the Indian selenopid species are provided.

Indian species of the genera Apochinomma Pavesi, 1881 and Corinnomma Karsch, 1880 are reviewed. Corinnomma rufofuscum Reimoser, 1934 syn. nov. is synonymised with A. nitidum (Thorell, 1895). Redescriptions of A. nitidum and C. severum (Thorell, 1877) are provided, and two colour morphs (brown and black) of A. nitidum are illustrated. Supplementary descriptions for A. dolosum Simon, 1897 and C. comulatum Thorell, 1891 are provided. The species Castianeira quadrimaculata Reimoser, 1934 syn. nov. is recognised as a junior synonym of Coenoptychus pulcher Simon, 1885. Images of all the examined type material are provided and a catalogue of Indian corinnid species is presented.

Indian Megamyrmaekion and Sosticus species are revised, mostly based on the type material available in the National Zoological Collection, Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata. The following new synonymies are recognised: Megamyrmaekion ashae syn. nov. is synonymised with Megamyrmaekion caudatum Reuss, 1834, Megamyrmaekion kajalae syn. nov. with Drassodes luridus (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1874), Sosticus jabalpurensis syn. nov. and Sosticus sundargarhensis syn. nov., both with the liocranid species Sphingius barkudensis Gravely, 1931 and Sosticus poonaensis syn. nov. with the liocranid species Sphingius caniceps Simon, 1906. The following new combinations are recognised: Poecilochroa jodhpurense (Gajbe, 1993) comb. nov., ex. Megamyrmaekion, Urozelotes pawani (Gajbe, 1993) comb. nov., Sphingius dherikanalensis (Gajbe, 1979) comb. nov., Sphingius nainitalensis (Gajbe, 1979) comb. nov. and Sphingius solanensis (Gajbe, 1979) comb. nov., all ex. Sosticus. All the examined type material are imaged and supplementary descriptions for P. jodhpurense comb. nov. and U. pawani comb. nov. are provided. A new monotypic genus, Gaviphosa Sankaran, 2021 gen. nov. for Gaviphosa kera Sankaran, 2021 gen. et sp. nov., featured by dorsal tibial apophysis is described and illustrated in detail from the southern Western Ghats of India.

Indian wolf spider species of the genus Evippa Simon, 1882 based on the type material available in the National Zoological Collection, Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata are revised. One new synonymy is recognised: Evippa mandlaensis Gajbe, 2004 syn. nov. is synonymised with Wadicosa fidelis (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1872). All the type material examined are imaged and supplementary descriptions for Evippa shivajii Tikader Malhotra, 1980, Evippa sohani Tikader Malhotra, 1980, and Evippa solanensis Tikader Malhotra, 1980 are provided.

Indian species in the wolf spider genus Arctosa C.L. Koch, 1847 are revised based on the type material deposited in the National Zoological Collection, Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata, Entomology Laboratory, Department of Zoology, University of Calcutta, and Naturhistorisches Museum, Vienna. Arctosa tappaensis Gajbe, 2004 is proposed as a junior synonym of Arctosa himalayensis Tikader Malhotra, 1980. Arctosa quinquedens Dhali, Roy, Sen, Saha Raychaudhuri, 2012 is provisionally transferred to Ovia Sankaran, Malamel Sebastian, 2017 and Arctosa mulani (Dyal, 1935) is considered as species inquirenda. Digital images of all the examined type material are presented and supplementary descriptions for A. himalayensis, Arctosa indica Tikader Malhotra, 1980 and Arctosa khudiensis (Sinha, 1951) are provided.

Indian species in the genus Sphingius Thorell, 1890 are revised, mostly based on the type material available in the National Zoological Collection, Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata. Sphingius barkudensis Gravely, 1931, S. nilgiriensis Gravely, 1931 and S. paltaensis Biswas Biswas, 1992 are redescribed. Two new combinations and one new synonymy are recognised: S. longipes Gravely, 1931 is transferred to the cithaeronid genus Inthaeron Platnick, 1991 and S. kambakamensis Gravely, 1931 is transferred to the corinnid genus Cambalida Simon, 1909, while S. delakharae Pawaria, Bodkhe, Kamble, Uniyal Talwar, 2018 syn. nov. is synonymised with S. barkudensis. Images of all the examined type material are provided.

The selenopid genus Makdiops Crews Harvey, 2011 was recently erected by Crews and Harvey (2011) with Selenops montigena Simon, 1889 as the type species. The genus represents medium-sized, usually high-altitude-dwelling spiders that can be diagnosed by the pattern of ventral spination of the anterior tibiae and metatarsi (4-3, 3-3 or 3-2) and by the absence of tarsal scopulae (Crews Harvey 2011). The genus is restricted to India (five species) and Nepal (one species) (Crews Harvey 2011; Caleb Sankaran 2020; World Spider Catalog 2020). While erecting the new genus, Crews and Harvey (2011) transferred two species formerly placed in Selenops Latreille, 1819: Selenops montigena Simon, 1889 and Selenops agumbensis Tikader, 1969. However, they did not examine the types of these two species due to their unavailability, and both these transfers were based either only on the original or subsequent descriptions/re-descriptions of these species. In this paper, we present images of the types of these two species and transfer Selenops shevaroyensis Gravely, 1931 to Makdiops. Additionally, we provide supplementary descriptions for the types of M. montigena, M. agumbensis and M. shevaroyensis comb. nov..

The genus Carlogonus Demange, 1961, is diagnosed, and its relationship with other members of the Harpurostreptini Hoffman, 1980 is discussed. A new species, Carlogonus gayathri sp. nov. is described and illustrated from the southern Indian State of Kerala, and its DNA barcoding data is presented. Phylogenetic analysis based on mtDNA sequence data revealed that Carlogonus is sister-taxon to Thyropygus Pocock, 1894. Two species-groups are recognised in Carlogonus: the exaratus-group is characterised by a single tibial spine on the gonopod, while the acifer-group has paired tibial spines. A dichotomous key is presented for the known Carlogonus spp., and the current distribution of the genus is mapped.

Plator species described in India are revised based on the type materials deposited in the National Zoological Collection, Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata. Five species are known in India, of which three are known only from females while the remaining two are from both sexes. All the type materials examined are imaged and redescribed.

The spider genus Glenognatha Simon, 1887 (Tetragnathidae) currently has 34 nominal species distributed in Afrotropical region, Indo-Malaya, Nearctic, Neotropics, Oceania and Palearctic regions (Cabra-García Brescovit 2016; World Spider Catalog 2020). It has one representative in India: Glenognatha dentata (Zhu Wen, 1978) (World Spider Catalog 2020). The genus Pachygnatha Sundevall, 1823 currently comprises 46 nominal species distributed in Africa, Holarctic, South and South-East Asia (World Spider Catalog 2020). Biswas and Roy (2004) recorded this genus in India, while they described Pachygnatha silentvalliensis Biswas Roy, 2004. The species is known from its original verbal description only since the genitalic illustrations were apparently not published along with the description (Biswas Roy 2004), thus leaving its identity obscured. To redescribe and illustrate this species, we examined its type material and found that Biswas and Roy (2004) had misidentified the species and in fact it belongs to Tylorida Simon, 1894. In this paper, we describe a new Glenognatha species from the southern Western Ghats of India, transfer Dyschiriognatha ganeshi Bodkhe, Manthen Tanikawa, 2014 to Glenognatha and synonymise P. silentvalliensis with Tylorida marmorea (Pocock, 1901).

The golden orb-weaving spider genus Nephila Leach, 1815 currently has four representatives in India: Nephila dirangensis Biswas Biswas, 2006, Nephila kuhlii (Doleschall, 1859), Nephila pilipes (Fabricius, 1793) and Nephila robusta Tikader, 1962 (World Spider Catalog 2020). While N. kuhlii has its type locality in Java (Doleschall 1859) and that of N. pilipes in Australasia (Fabricius 1781), N. dirangensis and N. robusta are both confined to India (World Spider Catalog 2020). Tikader (1962) described the species N. robusta based on a single female specimen collected in West Bengal. The original genitalic illustrations of this species, however, show close resemblance to that of N. pilipes, indicating its possible synonymy with the latter. To confirm the novelty of N. robusta, we examined its type specimen and the result is presented below. Additionally, we discuss the occurrence of colour morphs in the Indian populations of N. pilipes.

The South Asian spiroboloid species Xenobolus carnifex (Fabricius, 1775) is redescribed and illustrated in detail. The genus Xenobolus Carl, 1919 is diagnosed and its relationship and subfamily placement within Pachybolidae Cook, 1897 are discussed. The species Xenobolus acuticonus Attems, 1936 is synonymised with X. carnifex based on morphological and DNA barcoding data. Information on the natural history of X. carnifex is provided and its current distribution is mapped.

The Indian spider species formerly placed in the zodariid genus Lutica Marx, 1891 are revised. The following new combinations are proposed: Tropizodium bengalensis (Tikader Patel, 1975) comb. nov., Tropizodium kovvurensis (Reddy Patel, 1993) comb. nov., Tropizodium poonaensis (Tikader, 1981) comb. nov. and Zodarion deccanensis (Tikader Malhotra, 1976) comb. nov.. T. kovvurensis comb. nov. is redescribed based on freshly collected female specimens. All the examined type specimens are illustrated and the current status of each type is discussed.

Indian Scopoides species have been revised. Three new combinations are proposed: Poecilochroa kuljitae (Tikader, 1982) comb. nov., Megamyrmaekion pritiae (Tikader, 1982) comb. nov. and Megamyrmaekion tikaderi (Gajbe, 1987) comb. nov.. Scopoides maitraiae (Tikader Gajbe, 1977) and Scopoides samarae Gawande Bodkhe, 2018 are synonymized with Drassodes luridus (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1874). All the examined type materials are imaged and supplementary descriptions for P. kuljitae comb. nov., M. pritiae comb. nov. and M. tikaderi comb. nov. are provided.

Indian species in the castianeirine genus Castianeira Keyserling, 1879 (Corinnidae) are partly revised based on type materials deposited in the National Zoological Collection, Zoological Survey of India, Kolkata. Two new synonyms are recognized: Castianeira himalayensis Gravely, 1931 syn. nov. is synonymised with Corinnomma severum (Thorell, 1877), and Castianeira bengalensis Biswas, 1984 syn. nov. with the liocranid species Oedignatha scrobiculata Thorell, 1881. Castianeira albopicta Gravely, 1931 is considered as a nomen dubium. Castianeira adhartali Gajbe, 2003 and Castianeira indica Tikader, 1981 are transferred to Oedignatha Thorell, 1881 (Liocranidae). The taxonomic status of both Castianeira tinae Patel Patel, 1973 and Castianeira quadrimaculata Reimoser, 1934 is discussed. All the examined type materials are illustrated, and the current status of the type material of each species is discussed.

Thorell (1897) erected the monotypic genus Palicanus based on a single male specimen from Yangon (formerly Rangoon) in Myanmar (formerly Burma). Initially the genus was placed in Drassidae Sundevall, 1833, which later became a junior synonym of Gnaphosidae Pocock, 1898. The genus was subsequently transferred to Clubionidae Wagner, 1887 (Simon 1897) and finally to Miturgidae Simon, 1886 (Lehtinen 1967). Palicanus caudatus Thorell, 1897 is notable because of its mouse-grey appearance (Deeleman-Reinhold 2001) and is currently known to occur in China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Reunion Island and Seychelles (World Spider Catalog 2019). Gravely (1931) described Systaria barkudensis (Gravely, 1931), originally placed under Syrisca Simon, 1886, on the basis of specimens collected from the Indian state of Odisha. The species was redescribed once (Majumder Tikader 1991) and later it was transferred to Systaria Simon, 1897 (Deeleman-Reinhold 2001). In this paper, we synonymise S. barkudensis with P. caudatus and provide supplementary information on the somatic morphology and male genitalia with detailed illustrations.

The monotypic genus Psellonus is revised, including the first description of the male of Psellonus planus Simon, 1897. One new synonymy is proposed: Philodromus kendrabatai Tikader, 1966 = Psellonus planus Simon, 1897 syn. nov.

A new species of Polydrepanum Carl, 1932, is described and illustrated in detail from the Eastern Ghats of India: P. fissum sp. nov. One new combination of species misplaced in Polydrepanum is established: Telodrepanum implicatum (Carl, 1941) comb. nov.. All the nominal Polydrepanum spp. are keyed and the known distribution of the genus is mapped.

The corinnid species Castianeira zetes was described by Simon in 1897. It has been redescribed several times (Gravely 1931; Tikader 1981; Tikader Biswas 1981; Majumder Tikader 1991; Biswas Raychaudhuri 2000; Sen et al. 2015; Dhali et al. 2017), but none of the above works provided comprehensive somatic as well as genitalic descriptions of the species, and it still remains known only by quite poor drawings. The aim of the present paper is to redescribe and illustrate C. zetes in detail based on the type and new materials.

The species described as Phonognatha vicitra Sherriffs, 1928 is the only representative of the genus Phonognatha Simon, 1894 in India (World Spider Catalog 2018). The type locality of this species was a coffee estate named Charlotte estate/division, which is located adjacent to the Cauvery River in the Siddapura/ Sidapur village in the Kodagu (Coorg) district of the southwest Indian state of Karnataka (Sherriffs 1928). The species is still known from its original description, which is based on seven female specimens, and its male genitalia remained unveiled. For redescribing this species, we had visited the Charlotte estate/division and collected topotype materials of P. vicitra. However, while examining the materials, we found that the specimens from the Charlotte estate/division indeed belong to the South East Asian orb-weaving spider genus Acusilas Simon, 1895, indicating that Sherriffs misplaced his species in Phonognatha. In the present paper, we propose to transfer P. vicitra to Acusilas and synonymise it with Acusilas coccineus Simon, 1895.

The monotypic velvet ant-mimicking spider genus Coenoptychus Simon, 1885 is revised. The paper provides the first detailed morphological and genitalic description, with the first description and illustrations of the male of the type species, Coenoptychus pulcher Simon, 1885, and a redescription of its female. Two new combinations are proposed: Coenoptychus mutillicus (Haddad, 2004) comb. nov. and Coenoptychus tropicalis (Haddad, 2004) comb. nov.; both species were previously included in Graptartia Simon, 1896. The distribution records of the genus are updated.

As the species Haploclastus devamatha Prasanth & Jose, 2014 is indistinguishable from Thrigmopoeus psychedelicus Sanap & Mirza, 2014, the latter is herein considered junior synonym of the former. Occurrence of polychromatism in H. devamatha is noted, and two distinct colour morphs of the species are recognised, a pink form and a blue form. The natural history and conservation of the species are discussed and its known distribution is updated.

Zhu et al. (1997) erected the tetragnathid genus Wolongia to accommodate Wolongia guoi Zhu, Kim Song, 1997 and Wolongia wangi Zhu, Kim Song, 1997 collected from the Sichuan and Shaanxi Provinces in China. In 2009, Ping et al. described Wolongia odontodes from the Gaoligong Mountains and remained with a nominal representation after the erection of the genus. This situation was somewhat rectified by Jin-long Wan Xian-jin Peng (2013) reporting seven new species from the Gaoligong Mountains (Yunnan Province, southwest China). The genus currently with ten nominal species; three are known only from females, while seven are from both sexes (World Spider Catalog 2017). During our survey in Pathiramanal Island we found an undescribed Wolongia species. This is one of the most diverse areas of the Kerala state of Southern India, situated in the Vembanad Lake, a Ramsar Convention (2013) site (wetland of international importance). In this paper, we describe this new species and provide the first report of Wolongia from India.

The ctenid genus Africactenus Hyatt, 1954 is recorded for the first time from India. Africactenus unumus sp. nov. is described and illustrated based on male specimens. Detailed redescriptions and illustrations of Ctenus cochinensis Gravely, 1931 (both male and female) and Ctenus indicus Gravely, 1931 (only female) are provided and their distribution in India is updated.

The dictynid genus Anaxibia Thorell, 1898 currently has six nominal species distributed in the Oriental and Ethiopian regions (World Spider Catalog 2017). The genus represents tiny to small spiders characterised by a reduced cribellum, long, cylindrical anterior and posterior spinnerets, cymbium with caudal modification, palpal patella with dorsal horn, sub-apically arising embolus, conductor with wide lamellar apex and simple female genitalia (Lehtinen 1967). The genus has one representative in India: Anaxibia rebai (Tikader, 1966), originally described under Dictyna Sundevall, 1833 (Tikader 1966; Lehtinen 1967). In this paper, we describe and illustrate a new litter-dwelling Anaxibia species collected from the Kerala state of southern India.

The tetragnathid spider genus Tylorida Simon, 1894 is reviewed in India. The relationship of Tylorida with Orsinome Thorell, 1890 is discussed and illustrated. The taxonomic significance of male chelicerae of Tylorida spp. is discussed and an identification key based on the features of male chelicerae to separate Indian Tylorida spp. is provided. A new species, Tylorida flava sp. nov. is described and illustrated. Two new transfers and four new synonyms are proposed: Orsinome marmorea Pocock, 1901 and Tylorida culta (O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1869) are transferred to Tylorida and Mesida Kulczyn'ski, 1911 respectively, Tylorida cylindrata (Wang, 1991) and Tylorida sataraensis Kulkarni, 2014 are synonymised with Tylorida marmorea (Pocock, 1901) comb. nov., Tylorida nicobarensis (Tikader, 1977) is synonymised with Tylorida striata (Thorell, 1877) and Leucauge pondae Tikader, 1970 is synonymised with Tylorida ventralis (Thorell, 1877). The biology, natural history and intraspecific variations of T. marmorea comb. nov. are noted. The occurrence of intraspecific variations and colour polymorphism in T. ventralis is discussed and two colour morphs (Silver and Yellow morphs) and three varieties (varieties I, II & III) for the species are recognised. Additionally, the genus Atelidea Simon, 1895 is recorded for the first time from India and provided the description and illustration of Atelidea nona sp. nov.. The current distribution of Atelidea is mapped.

The South Asian millipede genus Chondromorpha Silvestri, 1897 is diagnosed and its relationship with Parchondromorpha Jeekel, 1980 is established. The species C. atopus (Chamberlin, 1920) and C. indus (Chamberlin, 1920), as well as the subspecies C. kelaarti kelaarti (Humbert, 1865), C. kelaarti longipes (Verhoeff, 1936) and C. kelaarti valparaiensis (Carl, 1932) are recognised as junior synonyms of C. kelaarti (Humbert, 1865), thereby reducing the total number of Chondromorpha spp. in India to four: C. kaimura Turk, 1947, C. kelaarti, C. mammifera Attems, 1936 and C. severini Silvestri, 1897 (the type-species). Two species, C. kelaarti and C. mammifera, are redescribed and illustrated in detail. All four Indian Chondromorpha spp. are keyed, and the known distribution records of C. kelaarti and C. mammifera are mapped.

The genus Zoica Simon, 1898 comprises the smallest members of the family Lycosidae (Lehtinen & Hippa 1979; Framenau et al. 2009) and all the members are vagrant (Lehtinen & Hippa 1979). The genus was revised by Lehtinen & Hippa (1979) and currently has 12 described species (World Spider Catalog 2017). The species Zoica puellula (Simon, 1898) was based on an unspecified number of female specimens from Sri Lanka, and its original description (Simon 1898) is inadequate and lacks illustrations. The male and female genitalia of this species were subsequently illustrated several times (Roewer 1960; Lehtinen & Hippa 1979; Tikader & Malhotra 1980); however these illustrations are insufficient for proper identification and the internal female genitalia of this species have not been illustrated. Additionally, Tikader and Malhotra (1980) inferred the presence of Z. puellula in India from records of this species in Sri Lanka, but it has not yet been found in India. Here we redescribe Z. puellula based on the type material and newly collected specimens and extend its known geographic distribution to India. We also remove Zoica harduarae (Biswas & Roy, 2008), which was described from India, from the genus.

A new monotypic wolf spider genus, Ovia gen. nov. is proposed to accommodate a misplaced species: Pardosa procurva Yu & Song, 1988. Ovia procurva comb. nov. is redescribed, illustrated and designated as the type species for the genus. The subfamily placement of the new genus is discussed and it is considered as a member of Lycosinae Sundevall, 1833 and possibly closely related to Alopecosa Simon, 1885. The presence of an apical process (spur) on the median apophysis is proposed as the putative synapomorphy of Ovia gen. nov. The possible sister-taxon relationship of Ovia gen. nov. with Alopecosa is discussed and evidence on the occurrence of sexual dimorphism and mating plug within the genus are presented. Ovia gen. nov. is assumed to be of Holarctic origin, from which it has migrated to the Indomalayan region. Additionally, a current distribution map for the genus is provided.

Stenaelurillus digitus sp. nov. and Stenaelurillus gabrieli sp. nov. are described from India. New distributional records for Stenaelurillus albus Sebastian et al., 2015 and Stenaelurillus lesserti Reimoser, 1934 and maps for these species are given.

The hitherto Afrotropical corinnid spider genus Cambalida Simon, 1909 is recorded from Asia for the first time. Detailed morphological descriptions and genitalic illustrations of two new species, C. deorsa sp. n. and C. tuma sp. n. from India, are provided. One new combination is proposed: Cambalida flavipes (Gravely, 1931) comb. nov. The occurrence of distal femoral constrictions of III and IV legs of both male and female are recognised as additional somatic features for the genus Cambalida. The current distribution of all the three Indian Cambalida spp. is mapped.

The Oriental armored spider genus Shearella Lehtinen, 1981 is recorded for the first time from India. Detailed description and illustrations of both sexes of Shearella alii sp. nov. are given. The geographic distribution of the genus is updated. Sinamma sanya (Lin & Li, 2010) is transferred back to Shearella, and Shearella browni (Shear, 1978) back to Monoblemma Gertsch, 1941. A checklist of all Indian tetrablemmid species currently known and a distribution map of all known Shearella spp. are presented.

Two new species, Tropizodium kalami sp. n. and Tropizodium viridurbium sp. n. from the genus Tropizodium are described from India. Detailed morphological descriptions, diagnostic features and illustrations of copulatory organs are given. Distribution of both the new species is mapped.

The Indo-pacific araneid genus Anepsion, with A. rhomboides (L. Koch, 1867) as the type species, was erected by Strand in 1929. He proposed the name Anepsion as a replacement name for Anepsia L. Koch, 1871, preoccupied by Anepsia Gistl, 1848, a dipteran genus (OBIS Australia, 2015). The genus was revised by Chrysanthus (1961, 1969) and currently has 16 described species and 1 subspecies (World Spider Catalog 2015). In the present paper, we are reporting the genus from India for the first time and synonymising Cyrtarachne keralensis Jose, 2011 with Anepsion maritatum O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1877. A redescription and illustrations of both male and female of A. maritatum are provided.
