The fruit of the tucumã palm is found in the Amazon rainforest, whose pulp (mesocarp) is consumed in several dishes of the Manaus-AM cuisine. In nutritional terms, the fruit has high content of vitamin A, lipids and energy with reasonable value of β-carotene and the endocarp is used generally in local crafts. In this work, the productive chain of the tucumã sold in Manaus was studied with the objective to evaluate the supply and commercialization of this fruit. Thus, forms were applied to 85 vendors distributed throughout the city, who answered on economic characteristics, location of commerce, origin and commercialization of tucumã, quantity purchased in tucumã bags, way of sale to the consumer and time of sale of tucumã. The results showed that the tucumã comes from 21 different cities and is available to sellers in three locations (Manaus Moderna, Panair and Producer Fairs). The total monthly quantity traded in Manaus was 86,066 kg in 2017, of which 49,840 kg are kernel (30,537 kg is woody endocarp), 20,777 kg of edible pulp and 12,460 kg of organic material/bark. The income earned by sellers is up to three monthly minimum wages., Cite as: AC Kieling, GP Santana, MC Santos. "Chamber of tucumã marketed in Manaus-AM".
