The development of nanomaterials for dye degradation has garnered significant interest due to their efficiency, environmental benefits, and cost‐effectiveness. In this study, a nanocomposite adsorbent composed of α‐Fe2O3 coupled with carbon derived from eco‐friendly corn husk has been developed. This material effectively captured cationic dyes, Methylene Blue (MB) and Malachite Green (MG), from aqueous solutions, including industrial dye effluent from local industry. The synthesized nanocomposite demonstrated rapid removal of MB and MG from the solution without the need for additional oxidizing or reducing agents. The adsorption conditions by varying parameters such as adsorbent dose, contact time, solution pH, initial dye concentration, and temperature have been optimized. Adsorption isothermal studies indicated that the Langmuir isotherm model best explained the adsorption process. Kinetic studies revealed that the adsorption process follows a pseudo‐first‐order model for MB, while the intraparticle diffusion model is more appropriate for MG. Moreover, the nanocomposite exhibited excellent reusability and regenerability for dye adsorption. Our study showcases the effectiveness of the synthesized nanocomposite adsorbent, comprising α‐Fe2O3 integrated with carbon derived from eco‐friendly corn husk using a simple and sustainable methodology, in efficiently removing cationic dyes from textile wastewater. In this paper, a third order tunable bandpass filter using substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) topology is presented. A cross shaped slot is etched on the top surface of the SIW cavity structure to implement the passband from 4.6 - 5.1 GHz. The novel cross shaped slot is designed smartly on the top of the SIW cavity to achieve 3rd order bandpass filter characteristics without increasing the dimension of the cavity. By placing the cross shaped slot at an offset of 1.0 mm from the center of the cavity structure, a transmission zero is created on the upper side of the passband. Presence of transmission zero increases the selectivity of the propose structure and accomplish an upper wide stopband characteristic. Two varactor diodes are loaded using the radial stubs on the top plane to produce tunable passband characteristics. The centre frequency of the passband is tuned over a bandwidth of 600 MHz by properly applying the bias voltage. An equivalent circuit is presented in order to understand the working of the filter. Background: Cardiovascular complications account for the highest mortality in diabetic patients, mainly due to coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure. Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) is an ominous prognostic sign and an independent risk factor for cardiac events which is frequently present in patients living with diabetes. Aims and Objectives: The aim of the study was to evaluate the LV mass and function in normotensive diabetes patients without antihypertensive medication. Materials and Methods: 100 normotensive diabetic patients were in study group and 100 control patients were studied. Hypertension and other known causes of LVH were excluded from the study. Data were analyzed using proper statistical method. Results: Left ventricular mass index (LVMI) is significantly higher in diabetic patients as compared to control population (P<0.001). It was also observed that the means of the left ventricular posterior wall thickness, interventricular septal thickness, and the left ventricular internal diameter during diastole (in all cases P<0.001) were statistically significantly high in diabetic patients in comparison to healthy control subjects. We have found that a significant systolic dysfunction in diabetic group and diastolic dysfunction also very common in diabetic group than the control group. The LVMI also increased in patients who have longer duration of diabetes and poor glycemic control. Conclusion: LVM is significantly higher in patients of type 2 diabetic without having hypertension, albuminuria, and apparent ischemic heart disease as compared to healthy controls. LVM in diabetic patients increases with duration of diabetes and is positively correlated with HbA1c and blood sugar level. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new class of switchable bandpass filter using PIN diodes is presented in this paper. The design aims at achieving a multistate switchable bandpass filtering characteristics between the passbands centered at 2.4, 3.5, and 5.2 GHz. The proposed filter is designed by assembling two λ g /2 open-ended and four short-ended λ g /4 uniform impedance resonators. The open-ended resonator generates a fixed passband at 3.5 GHz, whereas the short-ended resonators loaded with PIN diodes are independently controlling the ON and OFF characteristics of the passband centered at 2.4 and 5.2 GHz. The transmission zeros around each passband are produced without employing any additional circuit. The filter sample is fabricated and tested for experimental verification. A good agreement has been observed between EM-simulated and measured results. The designed filter has a compact size of 0.20 λ g × 0.15 λ g at 2.4 GHz. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
