4. Experimental investigation of vibration damping capabilities of 3D printed metal/polymer composite sleeve bearings.

Additive Manufacturing (AM) method enables to produce products easily, cheaply and quickly with more complex geometry compared to traditional production methods. In this context; Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) is a widely used for AM method that requires a large number of process parameters. In this study, it is aimed to experimentally investigate the damping capabilities of the metal/polymer composite sleeve bearings printed using FDM. A total of 54 pieces (27 pairs) were printed from composite filaments such as nine pairs for each of PLA, PLA + 20% Bronze, and PLA + 20% Copper metal/polymer with different filling structures (Octogram spiral, Archimedian chords, and 3D Honey comb) and different occupancy rates (10, 30, and 50%), respectively. The experiments were carried out using the shaft-bearing system under the same operating conditions at a rotational speed of 900 revolution per minute (rpm), and vibration data was collected from the rotating shaft with proxy probes. Rotating shaft position is very important to determine journal position in bearing for understanding deterioration in the bearing. Bode and Orbit plots are used to detect the level of deterioration in the bearing. The value of bearing to shaft clearence can vary widely depending on application. Since the bearings were heavily loaded, they were compressed by radial load caused large clearence. The results showed that compressed bearing had significant influence on the stability of rotating shaft system and significant differences in damping capabilities of composite sleeve bearings with different filling structures and occupancy rate. Increasing occupancy rate decreases the vibration amplitude values in copper-reinforced sleeve bearing but increases in bronze-reinforced sleeve bearing. From the microstructure analysis, it has been observed that the vibration absorbation capability is better due to the more homogeneous distribution of the copper reinforced bearings than the bronze reinforced bearings. Also, vibration absorption capability of sleeve bearings with 3D Honeycomb filling structure is increased significantly proportion to the occupancy rate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Yaygın olarak üç boyutlu (3D) baskı olarak bilinen Eklemeli Üretim (Additive Manufacturing - AM), bir ürünün Kartezyen koordinat sisteminde katmanla üretildiği süreçtir. Erişim Birikim Modelleme (Fused Deposition Modeling - FDM), fonksiyonel hızlı prototipleme ve ürün için en çok kullanılan AM sürecidir, üretimle ilgili zamanı ve malzemeyi azaltır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, 3D yazıcı sistem titreşimlerinin, imal edilen ürünlerin yüzey pürüzlülüğü üzerindeki etkilerini araştırmaktır. Üretim için malzeme olarak Polietileterftalat Glikol (PET-G) kullanılmıştır. Altı farklı dolgu şekli - Rectilinear, Grid, Triangular, Wiggle, Fast Honeycomb ve Full Honeycomb - kullanılmış ve her yapı için iki farklı üst katman - iki ve üç katman- uygulanarak toplam 12 test numunesi basılmıştır. Basılan ürünlerin yüzey pürüzlülüğü ölçümleri yapılarak elde edilen veriler üzerinden karşılaştırma yapılmış ve sonuçlar analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, üç üst katmanlı ızgara (Grid) doldurma yapısının kullanılması, yüzey pürüzlülüğü için diğer doldurma yapılarına kıyasla daha uygun olduğunu göstermiştir. Dolgu şekli türüne ve üst katmanların sayısına bağlı olarak 3D yazıcı sisteminin titreşiminin ürünün yüzey kalitesi üzerinde önemli bir etkisi olduğu görülmüştür, Additive Manufacturing (AM), widely known as three-dimensional (3D) printing, is the process that a product is fabricated layer by layer in Cartesian coordinate system. Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is the most used AM process for functional rapid prototyping and products reduces the time and material involved in manufacturing. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of 3D printer system vibrations on the surface roughness of fabricated products. Polyethyletherphthalate Glycol (PET-G) is used as material for fabrication. Six different filling structures - Rectilinear, Grid, Triangular, Wiggle, Fast Honeycomb, and Full Honeycomb - were used and for each structure two different top - two and three - layers implemented. A total of 12 samples specimens were fabricated. The results showed that using Full Honeycomb filling structure with three top layers is more suitable for surface roughness compare to the others filling structure used. It can be concluded that the vibration of 3D printer system considering type of filling structure and number of top layers have a significant effect on surface quality of product.

WOS: 000456781300016 In this study, the effects of cryogenic treatment and tempering on the vibration behaviors of rotating shafts mounted on the rolling element and journal bearings were investigated for the same loading conditions and operating speeds. In this experimental study, the data obtained with the help of proxy probes were analyzed and the results were compared. The results showed that the lowest amplitude values were obtained for the cryogenic treated shaft mounted on the journal bearing. The amplitude values of journal bearing are significantly superior to the rolling element bearings having stability in account.

WOS: 000445810300006 In recent years, three-dimensional (3D) printing is attracting widespread interest due to functional rapid prototyping and products by reducing the time and material involved in process. Most of 3D printer users focus on mechanical properties of products neglecting vibration characteristics of printer system effects on products. The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of 3D printer system vibrations on mechanical properties of printed products. Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology which is one of most used additive manufacturing process was used to print test samples and Polyethyletherphthalate Glycol (PET-G) was used as material for printing. Vibration measurements were taking for eighteen printed test samples. Vibrations data were measured from 3D printer movement in three axes (x, y, and z) by accelerometers. The processing parameters were selected as occupancy rate, filling structures orientation, and processing speed. The samples in rectilinear filling structure with occupancy rate of 50 % having different orientations (45 degrees by 45 degrees and 60 degrees by 30 degrees) and processing speeds (3600, 3900, and 4200 mm/min). Tensile test was used to test mechanical properties of test samples. The findings have shown that induced vibration has significant impact on mechanical properties which can be used to control the mechanical properties in terms of tensile stress and elongation of printed products during mass printing. Results showed that vibration amplitude values for orientations of 60 degrees by 30 degrees and processing speed 3600 mm/min are much lower compared to the other test samples. While tensile strength increases about % 5 when orientation is 45 degrees by 45 degrees with 3600 mm/min processing speed. From result obtained, it can be said that orientation of the product has a significant effect on the response of the printer system in terms of vibrations.

Frezede talaş kaldırma işlemi sırasında oluşan titreşimlerin kesici takım kaplama kalınlığına bağlı olarak ürün yüzey pürüzlülüğü üzerinde önemli bir etkisi vardır. Son yıllarda yüzey pürüzlülüğünü iyileştirmek için kaplanmış kesici takımların kullanım ihtiyacı artmıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı titanyum alüminyum nitrit (TiAlN) ile kaplanmış kesici takımın işlem sırasında kaplama kalınlığına bağlı olarak titreşim davranışlarının AISI 4140 alaşımlı çelikten yapılmış iş parçasının yüzey pürüzlülüğü üzerindeki etkisini deneysel olarak incelemektir. Çalışmada üç farklı çaptaki (10, 12 ve 16 mm ) kesici takım ve her kesici takım için dört farklı kaplama kalınlığı (0.0, 2.0, 3.0 ve 5.0 mikron) kullanılmıştır. Frezeleme sırasında iş parçasında iki yönde titreşim sinyalleri toplanmış ve elde edilen yüzey pürüzlülüğü ölçülmüştür. Sonuçlardan 3.0 mikron kaplama kalınlığı olan 10 mm çapındaki kesici takımın diğer takımlara kıyasla daha iyi bir yüzey pürüzlülüğü elde ettiği görülmüştür. Yüzey pürüzlülüğün iyileştirilmesi, uygun kaplama kalınlığına sahip kesici takımın kullanılarak titreşimin azaltılması ile mümkün olduğu söylenebilir., The vibration response of material removal process in milling has a significant effect on surface roughness of the product with respect to cutting tool coating. Recent requirements for improving of surface roughness have heightened the need for milling with coated cutting tools. The main objective of this study is to experimentally investigate the role of vibration behavior of cutting tool coated with titanium aluminum nitride (TiAlN) on an AISI 4140 alloy steel work piece surface roughness. The vibration data from work piece were recorded for three milling cutting tools with tool diameters of 10, 12, and 16 𝑚𝑚 and for each diameter different coating thicknesses of 0.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 5.0 𝜇 (microns) were used respectively. Vibration signals of work piece during milling process in two directions were collected and a roughness tester was used to measure the surface roughness of work piece. The results showed that vibration due to cutting tool coating thickness has a significant effect on surface roughness of work piece. It has been observed that the maximum average surface roughness was obtained for 16 𝑚𝑚 tool diameters with coating thickness of 5.0 𝜇 while the minimum average surface roughness was obtained for 10 mm tool diameters with coating thickness of 3.0 𝜇. Surface roughness can be improved by reduction sources of vibration by using appropriate cutting tool coating thickness.

In this study, the effect of Deep Cryogenic Treatment with different holding times on the mechanical properties of AISI 4140 steel was investigated. For this purpose; AISI 4140 steel samples were subjected to quenched treatment, deep cryogenic treatment and deep cryogenic treatment - tempering. The samples were cooled down from room temperature to -140 °C and holded for different holding times (12, 24, 36 and 48 hours) for the deep cryogenic treatment. The tensile and hardness tests were performed to investigate the effect on the mechanical properties of the AISI 4140 steel. The results showed that different holding times of Deep Cryogenic Treatment have significant effect on the mechanical properties of AISI 4140 steel. Deep Cryogenic Treatment was shown to have a positive effect on the hardness. It was also found that the optimum holding time of the deep cryogenic treatment was 36 hours. The results showed that tensile strength was found to improve about 10 % and hardness value about 5 %., Bu çalışmada, özellikle otomotiv endüstrisinde yaygın olarakkullanılan AISI 4140 (42CrMo4) çeliğinin mekanik özellikleri üzerinde farklıbekletme süreli derin kriyojenik işlemin etkisi incelenmiştir. Bu amaçlahazırlanan AISI 4140 çeliğinden imal edilen numunelere geleneksel ısıl işlemuygulanmış ve geleneksel ısıl işlemi tamamlayıcı bir işlem olan derinkriyojenik işlem farklı bekletme sürelerinde (12, 24, 36 ve 48 saat) - 140 °C sıcaklıkta uygulanmıştır. Derinkriyojenik işlem sonrasında numunelere 200 °C’ de temperleme işlemiuygulanmıştır. AISI 4140 çeliğin mekanik özelliklerinin belirlenebilmesi içinsertlik ölçüm ve çekme testleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu testlerden elde edilenbulgular analiz edilmiş ve karşılaştırılmıştır. Sonuçlar, farklı bekletmesüreli derin kriyojenik işlemin ve derin kriyojenik işlem sonrası uygulanantemperleme işleminin AISI 4140 çeliğin mekanik özellikleri üzerinde önemlietkileri olduğunu göstermiştir. Derin kriyojenik işlemli numunelerde önemlisertlik artışları ve çekme dayanımlarında kayda değer iyileşmeler olmuştur.Ayrıca, mekanik özelliklere etkisi yönünden derin kriyojenik işlemin en uygunbekletme süresinin 36 saat olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

The objective of thepresent study is to investigate 3D printing filling structures effect onmechanical properties and surface roughness of PET-G (PolyethyleneTerephthalate Glycol) material products. The PET-G material was preferredbecause of its durability, high transparency and odor characteristics. Avariety of methods are used to manufacture products. Each has its advantagesand drawbacks. One of these methods to adopt for this investigation was FDM(Fused Deposition Modeling) 3D printing method. The FDM method was consideredthat it has a direct effect on the mechanical properties and surface roughnessof the product. The experiments were carried out using PET-G materials withdifferent printing filling structures (rectilinear, triangular, fullhoneycomb), at processing speed of 50 mm/s. Recent developments in 3Dprinting are attracting wide spread interest due to easily accessible withlower cost. The present paper aims to investigate printing occupancy rateseffect on mechanical properties and surface roughness of PET-G (PolietilenTereftalat Glikol) material products. Pet-G material was preferred because ofits malleability,colorability and mechanical properties. PET-G products were printed atdifferent printing occupancy rates (20%, 50% and 80%) at processing speed of 45mm/s and all other operating parameters fixed at the same conditions on 3Dprinter. This paper presents a brief study of the information from the published literature and author's works regarding rotor-bearing systems analysis with respect to optimization. The main goal of this work is to motivate and give an idea to designers who are willing to deal with optimization of rotor-bearing sytems. The results obtained and presented in this study are to provide a comparison with numerical optimum design methods such as gradientbased method, and to show the potential of genetic algorithms in optimization of rotor-bearing systems. Genetic algorithms have been used as optimization problem solving techniques. They are parameter search procedures based on the idea of natural selection and genetics. These robust methods have increasingly recognized and applied in many applications., Bu makale rotor-rulman sistemlerinin analizi ve optimizasyonunu göz önüne alarak yazarın çalışmaları ile birlikte literatürden kısa bir bilgi sunumu mahiyetinde bir çalışmadır. Çalışmayla, rotor-rulman sistemlerinin optimizasyonu alanında çalışmak isteyen tasarımcıya bir motivasyon ve fikir verme amaç edinilmiştir. Çalışmada genetik algoritmalar methoduyla elde edilen sonuçlar numeric metodla elde edilen sonuçlarla kıyas edilerek genetik algoritmaların kabiliyeti gösterilmiştir. Genetik algoritmalar tabii seleksiyon (seçim) tekniğini kullanarak tanımlanan sınırlar içinde tarama yapan ve genetik fikrine dayalı uygun araştırma teknikleridirler. Günümüzde genetik algoritmalar bir çok alanda kullanılmaktadır.

Endüstride turbo makineleri, jeneratörler, kompresörler, pompalar, buhar ve gaz türbinleri gibi çeşitli makine sistemlerinde istenen yüksek hız ve ağır yük şartları altında güvenli ve kararlı çalışma gereksinimi günden güne artmaktadır. Bu sistemlerde kullanılan millerin işletmedeki çalışma frekanslarının kendi frekansına denk gelmesi veya çok yakın olması çalışan sistemde tınlaşım (rezonans) durumunu ortaya çıkarır. Böylece milin mekanik enerjisi giderek artar ve bu artan enerjiyi dengeleyecek tedbirler alınmamışsa sonucunda milin kırılması gerçekleşebilir. Bu sebeplerden dolayı makine sistemlerinin dinamik davranışları büyük önem taşımaktadır. Makinelerin dinamik davranışlarının belirlenmesinde en önemli ve detaylı bilgileri veren titreşim karakteristikleridir. Titreşim karakteristikleri, makinenin işletme şartlarındaki performansını ve mekanik problemlerinin ortaya çıkarılmasında en önemli faktörleri teşkil ederler. Sistemdeki titreşimlerin nispeten azaltılması makine parçalarında uygun malzeme kullanılması ile mümkündür. Malzemelerin mekanik özelliklerini iyileştirmek için ısıl işlem uygulanmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, makine-imalat ve otomotiv sanayisinde yaygın kullanım alanına sahip AISI 4140 ıslah çeliğinin dinamik davranışları üzerinde ısıl işlemin etkisi incelenmiştir. Bu amaçla, ısıl işlem görmemiş ve ısıl işlem görmüş millerin dinamik davranışları deneysel olarak karşılaştırılmıştır.

32. Experimental Spectral Analysis of Split Sleeve Bearing Clearance Effect on a Rotating Shaft System

- Abstract
Bearing are one of the most widely used elements in rotating shaft systems with great risk of failure that can affect the systems. There are two broad types of bearings used in rotating shaft system: sleeve bearings or journal bearings and rolling element bearings. Split sleeve bearings are used for application where it is necessary to remove a cap for servicing or replacing bearing. Proper clearance between the shaft and the bearing is necessary to avoid vibration or loss of concentric orbit. The performance of rotating shaft system is very dependent on vibration generated by bearings. The use of vibration signal analysis is one of the most reliable measurement for this purpose. The main objective of the present study is experimentally to investigate the role of bearing clearance that is a critical parameter affecting dynamic characteristics of rotating shaft systems. The vertical bearing clearance through introduction of additional shims is operand to simulate a loose -worn- split sleeve bearing. Wear is responsible for many problems and large cost in rotating shaft system. Three different clearances configurations using shims have been tested. The results showed that a worn bearing will have a significant influence on the stability of rotating shaft system.

The main energy sources which are natural, clean, environmentally friendly, and renewable are wind power, solar energy, biomass energy, hydro energy, and wave energy. The wave energy has no cost except for the first investment and maintenance. There is also no cost for input energy. Besides these, it has no pollution effect on the environment, it is cheap and there is a huge potential all around the world. Wave energy is a good opportunity to solve the energy problem for Turkey which is surrounded by seas. Concerning all these facts, it has been conducted some studies which included five years of observation in the Western Black Sea Region (Akçakoca). The wave energy potential has also been calculated. From this sutdy results, it can be concluded that the wave energy potential of this region is inefficient. It is believed that by the improvement of the new energy converter devices in future, this low potential can be used more efficiently and as a result this study might be used as a basis for the future researches., Çevreye zarar vermeyen doğal, temiz ve sürekli yenilenebilir enerji türlerinin başlıcaları, rüzgar, güneş, biyolojik, su ve dalga enerjisidir. 35. Experimental research on vibration reduction characteristics of adhesively bonded beam structures with acoustic black hole geometry

- Abstract
Beam structures are widely used in industrial applications such as automobiles, aircraft, naval architecture, trains, and buildings. The vibration characteristics of beams are inherent phenomenon and directly affect usage comfort and service life, but more dangerously may damage the structure due to excessive vibrations that are transmitted through the surrounding structure of the system. Vibration reduction of beam structures is a continuous challenge for industrial applications. It is important to reduce vibrations of the beam structures for stability. In this study, experimental research on vibration reduction characteristics of adhesively bonded beam structures with Acoustic Black Hole technique is presented. The Acoustic Black Hole, which is a geometry, tapered with a power-law profile enables vibration reduction by decreasing the velocity and the wavelength of vibration. The inherent natural vibration properties called modal parameters such as the natural frequencies, damping, and mode shapes of the beam structure with and without damping layer using power-law profile having various the Acoustic Black Hole length and exponent values were investigated and evaluated with experimental modal analysis. For validation, natural frequencies are determined numerically by the finite element method, and then compared with results obtained by the experimental modal analysis. The overall results indicated that the Acoustic Black Hole has ability to significantly suppress the vibration level and showed the capability of enhancing the damping efficiency when using the damping layer attached to the Acoustic Black Hole length of the beam structure.

In the present study, the effect of a laboratory practice on learning of shaft critical speed subject in Machinery Dynamics class was investigated. The focus group of research consists of 20 undergraduate senior students inMechanical Design Division at the University of Düzce, Turkey. The qualitative research method is used in this study. Semi-structured interview form was used for data collection. Interview was carried out as focus group discussions. The students were divided into three groups for interview. Data were collected performing the group interview before and after laboratory practice. Interviews were recorded by video-camera together with an educational scientist and a specialist questioner involved directly to group meeting. Then, the video-camera recording was converted to written document form for analysis. Then these documents were subjected to content analysis. Obtained concepts were classified on the base of interview questions. It has been observed that the teaching of the critical speed subject with laboratory practices besides the lecture has provided that the successes of the students have increased at a significant level. Based on the fact that the students cannot visualize the information they have been provided theoretically, it has been concluded that the practice should not only be performed during the lesson with mathematical calculations but also in real laboratory medium, personally. It is a fact that laboratory practices have been effective on the increase of general success of the critical speed subject and that the real medium of the performed practices have effected learning positively (Kılıç, Kara and Çiçek 2009; Kılıç, Kara and Çiçek 2010). With this study, it has been recognized that only lecture does not provide the realization of total learning. Particularly, the effect of alloy compositions, the reinforcement size and the volume fraction of the Metal Matrix Composites are discussed. Some important factors of the material selection are listed for engineering applications. Detailed information about their application areas has been given.

Dişli kutularının tasarımı karmaşık bir süreç olup kullanma yeri ve amacına göre farklılık gösterir. Dişli tasarımında minimum hacim ve dişliler için eşit mukavemet elde edilmesi tasarımın en temel kıstaslarından birini oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada iki kademeli düz, helis ve konik dişli çark mekanizmalarının tasarım ve mukavemet analizi araştırılmıştır. Tasarım işleminde, minimum malzeme hacmi (MMH) ve minimum kutu hacmi (MKH) olmak üzere iki hacim kriteri dikkate alınmıştır. Hacim kriterlerinde elde edilen iletim oranları ve kademelerdeki gerilmelerde incelenmiştir. Dişli tasarım işlemi analitik yaklaşım ile iletim oranı ve modül değişkenlerinin taranması ve bunlara bağlı diğer parametrelerinin bulunması şeklinde yapılmıştır.Dişli tasarımında, diş sayılarının değişiminin hacim ve oluşan gerilmeler üzerinde doğrudan etkilerinin olduğu görülmüştür. Sistemde oluşan gerilmeler açısından MMH kriterinde kademelerde oluşan gerilmeler arasındaki farkın daha az olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Dişli tasarımında kademeler arasında iletim oranlarının büyükten küçüğe doğru dağılması yaklaşımı özellikle MMH kriterinde elde edilmiştir. Bu şekildeki dağılımın kademeler arasında birbirine yakın mukavemet değerlerinin sağlanmasına katkı sağladığı görülmüştür. Elde edilen verilerden MMH kriterinin; boyutlandırma, iletim oranı dağılımı, sistemde oluşan eğilme ve yüzey basıncı gerilmelerinin dağılımı açısından en uygun değerleri verdiği görülmüştür., Design of gearboxes is a complex process and it varies place to use and objective. One of the key design criteria in designing gear is to obtain minimum volume and equal strength in gear trains. In this study, design and strength analysis of spur, helical and bevel gears in two stages configuration have been investigated. In design process two volume criteria, Minimum Material Volume (MMV) and Minimum Box Volume (MBV), have been taken into consideration. The transmission ratios and the strengths obtained in the stages have also been investigated. Gear design process has analytically been performed such that the various transmission ratios and modules are iteratively tested.In designing gear, it has been seen that the variations in teeth numbers have a direct effect on the volumes and strengths obtained. From the occurring strength point of view, it has been observed that the strength differences in the stages are smaller in MMV criterion. A distribution from larger to smaller in transmission ratios has been obtained in MMV criterion. It has been discovered that it helps assist in obtaining closer strength values between the stages. Finally, it has been proved from the data obtained MMV is more appropriate criterion from the viewpoints of dimensioning, distribution of transmission ratios, distribution of bending strength and contact stress occurred in the gearbox system.

Rotating machinery systems are composed of various components, such as shafts, disks, and rolling element bearings. The most important and comprehensive data for determining the dynamic behavior of these mechanical elements used in machine systems can be obtained and utilized by the vibration analysis. One way to increase operational reliability of the systems is to use proper materials. For shaft supported by rolling element bearing since breakdowns in the systems are due to failure of the shaft materials. In this experimental work, AISI 4140 steel (42CrMo4) materials used widespread in the rotating machinery and automotive industry is studied. The effects of cryogenic treatment on the dynamic behavior of shafts were investigated. In this context, stability analysis of cryogenic treated and tempering shafts supported by rolling element bearing for same running speeds and load levels were experimentally studied, analyzed, and compared. In this paper the optimum design for improving the dynamic characteristics of a flexible, overhung rotor system is studied. The design of a flexible rotor system is a complicated process due to the large number of geometrical parameters of hydrodynamic bearings, which play an important role in the prediction of the dynamic behavior of the rotor system. There are a number of design requirements added to the rotor-system configuration that improve the dynamic characteristics within the rotor's speed range. To improve the dynamic characteristics of the rotor system, a genetic algorithm was employed and the modeling of the components of the rotor system was made with the finite-element method. Also, the method of feasible directions was used in order to validate the efficiency and applicability of the proposed method, and it proved that the proposed method in the rotor-system design is very efficient and useful for improving the dynamic characteristics of the rotor system. © 2007 Journal of Mechanical Engineering. Bu nedenle, yedinci dönemde öğrencilerin bu beceriler açısından ulaştıkları düzeyin belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Araştırmada, survey yöntemi kullanıldı. Araştırma, Düzce Teknik Eğitim Fakültesi Elektrik, Yapı ve Mobilya-Dekorasyon Öğretmenliği Bölümleri son sınıf öğrencileri üzerinde yapıldı. Bu bölümlerde son sınıftaki bütün öğrenciler araştırmaya dahil edilmiş olduğundan ayrıca örnekleme gidilmemiştir. Öğretmenlik uygulaması dersinde kullanılan öğretmenlik becerileri ölçeği esas alınarak öğrencilerle birlikte toplam 39 beceri belirlendi. Bunlar: konu alan hakimiyeti, planlama, öğretim süreci, sınıf yönetimi, iletişim ve değerlendirme alt başlıklarından oluşmaktadır. Her alt başlıktan toplam beceri sayısı oranına uygun olarak alınan davranışlarla, öğrencilerin de katkılarıyla üç ayrı ölçek oluşturuldu. Her ölçekte 15 beceri yer aldı. Her bir öğrenci bu ölçeklerden birine uygun olarak istedikleri konudan bir ders sunumu hazırlayarak sınıf ortamında sundular. Verileri toplamak için öğretmenlik becerilerinden oluşturulan gözlem formları kullanıldı. Öğrenci sunumları, araştırmacı tarafından gözlenerek gözlem formları dolduruldu. Toplanan veriler SPSS programı kullanılarak analiz edildi. Araştırmacılar tarafından yapılan gözlemlerin analizi sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının öğretmenlik becerilerini uygulama düzeyleri ortaya konuldu., The aim of this study is to determine levels of practice for teaching skills of senior student teachers at educational departmants (electricity, structural building, and furniture-decoration) in Düzce Technical Education Faculty, Düzce. These students practice teaching in the last semestre at technical and vocatinal schools. In this respect, it is aim to measure these skills level one semestre before their teaching practices. Survey method was used in this study. Since all senior students involved in the survey there was no need for sampling. There are a total of thirty-nine skills such as subject matter, planing, instructural proceses, classroom administration, communication, and evaluation by taking an account of teacher skills measurement in teaching practice course. Each of these was selected with sufficiantly enough numbers. So, three different scale forms consist of fifteen skills were designed. Each student was asked to practice one of these forms. Students prepared and presented any topic for a lesson using this form in class. Author of this study observed the presentation of each student and filled the scale form. Data obtained from this observation were analyzed using stastistic program called SPSS.

46. Design optimization of rotor-bearing system considering critical speed using Taguchi method.

- Abstract
The purpose of this study is to utilize Taguchi method, which can prove to be a handy and effective tool for determining minimum vibration response of rotor-bearing system set to avoid running at critical speed. In the study, three test cases considering different coupling type (elastic, jaw, and solid) and disc location (disc location A, B, and C) were conducted to observe behavioral changes of the shaft system considering vibration signatures. Each test case was conducted for three different shaft running speeds of 12, 18, and 24 Hz. To find the minimum peak amplitude values by experimenting different combinations of the rotor-bearing system set needs a lot of experiments for reaching solution. Moreover, the solution proves costly because of the time consumed in doing many experiments. This fact depicts the importance of an efficient optimization method to be used. Taguchi method can determine the design parameters, which have the greatest influence on the solution through a very limited number of experiments, for finding optimum set of rotor-bearing system.
