To investigate whether vascularization index (VI), flow index (FI), and vascularization flow index (VFI) correlate with the pathological structure of the placenta and whether there were any differences in VI, FI, VFI, and placental pathological structure between the normal and preeclampsia (PE) groups.Fifty-five pregnant women (normal group, n = 27; PE group, n = 28) underwent VI, FI, and VFI at four locations in the placenta during the second and third trimesters. Two hematoxylin and eosin (HE)-stained specimens of the postpartum placenta were prepared. We randomly selected two of these locations and used ImageJ, an open-source image package, to quantify intervillous blood vessels (IBV), intervillous spaces (IS), and intervillous blood vessels + intervillous spaces (IBV + IS) per unit placenta and analyzed their correlation with VI, FI, and VFI.There was no positive correlation between VI, FI, VFI, IBV, IS, and IBV + IS. There were no significant differences in VI, FI, and VFI between the normal and PE groups; however, there were significant differences in IBV, IS, and IBV + IS in the PE group compared to those in the normal group.Placental hemodynamics measured by VI, FI, and VFI were not positively correlated with placental morphology in the third trimester. There were no differences in the VI, FI, and VFI in the third trimester between the normal and PE groups, suggesting that these may reflect placental circulatory insufficiency.

Hemophilia is a risk for severe hemorrhage in newborns during the perinatal period and excessive postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) in hemophilia carriers. Vacuum extraction or use of forceps should be avoided to prevent neonatal intracranial hemorrhage (ICH). Optimal modes of delivery such as vaginal or cesarean section are open to debate. The safety of the induction of labor is also worthy of investigation. Here we ask if labor induction is a safe delivery mode for pregnant women who are hemophilia carriers and their infants. We looked at 13 deliveries by hemophilia carriers at our hospital from 2005 to 2018. Two of the five male neonates complicated by hemophilia suffered ICH complications (40%). Both were delivered by induced labor. No deliveries by carriers had PPH which required treatment. Our data indicate that the induction of labor may provoke ICH in infants with hemophilia. We suggest that induction of labor is not a preferable delivery method for hemophilia carriers to avoid neonatal ICH.

Preeclampsia causes various presentations by increased endothelial permeability and microvascular damages. Maternal ascites related severe preeclampsia is generally explained by increased capillary permeability due to endothelial cell dysfunction and reduced intravascular oncotic pressure. Here we report a patient with postpartum massive ascites associated with preeclampsia.

The purity of CO2 influences on energy performance in CO2 capture process. The effects of that were evaluated for post-combustion capture and pre-combustion capture using a process simulation method. In post-combustion capture using a chemical solvent, high purity CO2 with the concentration of more than 99% was easily obtained, but a large reboiler heat duty was required. In pre-combustion capture from IGCC syngas using a physical solvent, CO2 purity changed by operating conditions such as the pressure of a flash tank. Since energy requirement gradually increased with increasing the CO2 purity and steeply increased when the CO2 purity reached 99%, CO2 purity of below 99% will be reasonable for the physical absorption. Membrane also should be operated under not so high CO2 purity condition to attain an energetic merit. Around 95% should be a reasonable CO2 purity.

鉄筋コンクリート構造は，適切に設計，施工されれば，極めて耐久性の高い構造である．しかし，近年，鉄筋コンクリート構造物において，鉄筋腐食によりかぶりコンクリートが剥落する事象が見受けられる．鉄筋の腐食が進行すると，鉄筋の断面欠損を生じ，構造物の耐力を低下させる恐れがある．本研究では，コンクリートの中性化と内在する塩化物イオンの影響で鉄筋の腐食を生じたと考えられる経年約30年の鉄道ラーメン高架橋を対象に，腐食した鉄筋を採取し，実構造物の鉄筋の強度性状を現場の計測から簡易に推定する方法について検討した．その結果，鉄筋の最小径を測定することにより降伏強度残存率と見かけの疲労強度残存率を推定することができることがわかった．

We hypothesize that under conditions of limited nutrient availability to the fetus, as often present in preeclampsia (PE), IUGR, and insufficient weight-gain during pregnancy, a general adaptive response aimed to increase amino acid transport activity may be observed in the placenta. Method: A total of 40 placentas from full-term (n1⁄410) and pre-term (n1⁄410) normal pregnancies, IUGR (n1⁄410), and PE (n1⁄410) associated pregnancies were looked at by immunohistochemistry followed by relative qualitative scoring to compare expression levels and localization of System L, ASCT2, and mTOR proteins. Result: Syncytiotrophoblast (ST) in placenta of pregnancies complicated by IUGR or PE showed significant increases in the levels of 4F2hc and LAT1 compared to both full-term control and pre-term pregnancies seperately. Elevated mTOR protein was uniquely higher in IUGR placentas compared to full-term controls. Total cellular ASCT2 transporter protein levels were similar in all groups, however, levels of ASCT2 protein localized to the ST microvillous membrane (MVM) were significantly lower in IUGR compared to both full-term and pre-term pregnancies. Additionally, ASCT2 and mTOR protein levels were positively associated with maternal prepregnancy BMI. Conclusion: First, in conditions of limited nutrient availability, such as PE or IUGR, there is an overall increase in the level of System L and mTOR protein expression in the ST, suggestive of an adaptive response. Second, a decrease in ASCT2 protein at the ST MVM suggests a post-translational event that may decrease AAT activity in IUGR placentas. Third, a physiological link between transporter expression and pre-pregnancy BMI is suggested based upon a positive association observed with ASCT2 and mTOR expression values. O-027. We used an antibody directed against SUSD2 to isolate perivascular (SUSD2+) and non-perivascular (SUSD2-) fibroblasts from mid-luteal biopsies. Method: SUSD2+ and SUSD2cells were purified from mid-luteal endometrial biopsies by magnetic bead separation and each cell population were expanded in vitro, then, subjected to RNA-seq analysis or differentiation experiments induced by cAMP andMPA to assess secretome profile. Result: On average, positive cells comprised 6.8% of endometrial stromal cells and 6-fold enriched in clonogenic cells. RNA sequencing revealed that cultures derived from SUSD2+ progenitor cells remain phenotypically distinct by the enrichment of novel and established endometrial perivascular signature genes including AOC3, NOTCH3, ELN, MYH11, DES, ACTA2, MCAM, and CSPG4. Decidualization transformed perivascular SUSD2+ -derived cells into the dominant source of a range of chemokines and cytokines, including CCL7, LIF and LTA. Conclusion: Our findings confirmed that SUSD2+ -derived cells remain the expression of perivascular signature genes even after in-vitro culture. Decidual response is spatially organized at the feto-maternal interface with differentiating perivascular cells establishing distinct cytokine and chemokine gradients that could have the key role in decidual process. The dinitrogen complex cis-(W(N/sub 2/)/sub 2/(PMe/sub 2/Ph)/sub 4/) reacts with acetylacetone in methanol at 50/sup 0/C to give a novel alkenyldiazenido complex mer-(W(acac)(NNCMeCHCOMe)(PMe/sub 2/Ph)/sub 3/) (acac = acetylacetonate) in moderate yield. Two possible mechanisms for the formation of this alkenyldiazenido complex are proposed. (1) Ligating dinitrogen is first protonated by acetylacetone to form the diazenido complex (W(acac)(NNH)(PMe/sub 2/Ph)/sub 3/). The nucleophilic addition of the diazenido ligand to one of the carbonyl groups in acetylacetone followed by elimination of water results in the formation of the alkenyldiazenido complex. (2) The dinitrogen complex is converted into the hydrazido(2-) complex (W(acac)(NNH/sub 2/)(PMe/sub 2/Ph)/sub 3/)(acac) via the diazenido complex by protonation with acetylacetone. The condensation of this hydrazido(2-) complex with acetylacetone gives the diazoalkane complex (W(acac)(NN=CMeCH/sub 2/COMe)(PMe/sub 2/Ph)/sub 3/)(acac), which is readily transformed into the alkenyldiazenido complex by abstraction of the active methylene proton with the acetylacetonate anion in the outer coordination sphere.
