A utilização de dispositivos móveis tem aumentado significativamente devido à proliferação do acesso à tecnologia sem fio. No projeto de dispositivos portáteis, o tempo de vida das baterias que os alimentam é considerado uma das características mais importantes, pois informa a quantidade de tempo que o dispositivo estará operacional sem a necessidade de ligá-lo a uma fonte externa. Neste contexto, é de vital importância possuir algum método capaz de predizer o tempo de vida das baterias. Este artigo objetiva aplicar estruturas de modelos matemáticos paramétricos lineares, tais como as estruturas ARX, ARMAX, entre outras, presentes na teoria de Identificação de Sistemas a fim de identificar a que representa de forma mais acurada o tempo de vida de baterias utilizadas em dispositivos móveis, a partir de dados coletados de um experimento real (i.e., plataforma de testes). Os modelos foram implementados na caixa de ferramentas para identificação de sistemas presente na ferramenta computacional Matlab denominada ident. A partir da análise dos resultados observou-se que o modelo paramétrico linear ARX apresentou o melhor resultado quando comparado com, os demais modelos e os dados experimentais. The use of mobile devices has increased significantly due to the proliferation of wireless access technology. In the design of portable devices, the lifetime of the batteries that feed is considered one of the most important features, as reports the amount of time the device will be operational without the need to connect it to an external source. In this context, it is vital to have some method to predict the lifetime of the batteries. This paper aims to apply linear parametric mathematical model structures like ARX, ARMAX, among others, present in the theory of system identification to identify that more accurately represents the service life of batteries used in mobile devices from data collected from a real experiment (ie, test platform). The models were implemented in the toolbox for system identification in this computational tool called Matlab (ident). From the analysis of the results showed that the linear parametric ARX model obtained the best results when compared with other models and experimental data.

A primeira solução inclui duas novas técnicas de Gerenciamento Dinâmico de Energia (GDE) desenvolvidas e avaliadas a partir de um modelo realista de descarga de bateria (i.e., modelo de Rakhmatov-Vrudhula). Ambas técnicas se baseiam na possibilidade de efetuar o desligamento parcial de componentes específicos do nó sensor a partir do nível de energia residual da bateria objetivando recuperar sua capacidade. A partir da análise de resultados de simulações conclui-se que a aplicação das técnicas de GDE pode aumentar significativamente o tempo de vida médio dos nós sensores de uma RSSF. A segunda solução consiste em um mecanismo original de controle de topologia que utiliza a múltipla dominação e dominação em distância na computação de backbones em RSSF. A utilização deste mecanismo possibilita, em muitos casos, a redução significativa no consumo de energia e no atraso médio dos pacotes transmitidos na rede. Tanto as técnicas de GDE como o mecanismo de controle de topologia foram analisadas através de simulações, utilizando o simulador Network Simulator (NS-2) e os resultados apresentados demonstram a eficácia de ambas soluções. This work presents two solutions for optimizing routing, topology control, and power consumption in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN). The first solution includes two novel Dynamic Power Management (DPM) techniques designed and evaluated under a realistic discharge battery model (i.e., Rakhmatov-Vrudhula battery model). Both techniques take advantage of partially turning off some node components based on the remaining battery capacity, allowing battery capacity recovery due to the relaxation phenomena. An extensive performance analysis shows that the proposed DPM techniques can extend the node lifetime. The second solution presented in this work regards a novel multicoverage with bounded distance topology control mechanism. This mechanism makes it feasible building power saving backbones for WSNs, and also reducing the average packet delay in the network. Both solutions were implemented and evaluated with the Network Simulator NS-2, and extensive simulation results show the advantages of applying the proposed solutions by themselves or when combined together in a broadcast routing protocol.

A geração de energia elétrica utilizando biogás em propriedades rurais tem sido amplamente pesquisada nos últimos anos. Diversos são os estudos demonstrando sua viabilidade técnica, econômica e benefícios ao meio ambiente. Esse tipo de geração, conhecida como geração distribuída (GD), é normalmente realizada por meio de máquinas síncronas. A GD apresenta vantagens, porém, pode trazer alguns inconvenientes como o risco de alimentar um trecho de rede durante uma manutenção (operação ilhada). Para impedir que isso ocorra, as GDs devem possuir proteções que permitam identificar a perda de conexão com a rede. Entre os métodos de identificação está o relé de salto de vetor. Esse dispositivo monitora a tensão da rede identificando uma operação ilhada em função do deslocamento de fase que ocorre no momento de um ilhamento. Para utiliza-lo é preciso definir os parâmetros a serem ajustados nesse relé. Essa atribuição fica a cargo dos técnicos e engenheiros que atuam no projeto para interligação das GDs as redes de distribuição. Falta na literatura um método claro que oriente-os na escolha desses parâmetros. Nesse documento é demonstrado que o deslocamento de fase pode ser previsto conhecendo os parâmetros da função de transferência da máquina síncrona. Aplicando a transformada inversa de Laplace a essa função de transferência é possível obter a equação no tempo e assim, prever o deslocamento que ocorre logo no primeiro ciclo de rede após o ilhamento. The generation of electric energy using biogas in rural properties has been extensively researched in recent years. There are several studies demonstrating its technical, economic feasibility and benefits to the environment. This type of generation, known as distributed generation (DG), is usually carried out by means of synchronous machines. DG has advantages, however, it can bring some inconveniences such as the risk of feeding a stretch of grid during maintenance (island operation). To prevent this from happening, the DGs must have protections that allow the loss of connection to the grid to be identified. Among the identification methods is the vector jump relay. This device monitors the mains voltage by identifying an islanded operation due to the phase shift that occurs at the time of an islanding. To use it, it is necessary to define the parameters to be adjusted in this relay. This assignment is the responsibility of technicians and engineers working on the project to interconnect the DGs with the distribution networks. There is a lack of a clear method in the literature to guide them in choosing these parameters. This document shows that the phase shift can be predicted by knowing the parameters of the transfer function of the synchronous machine. Applying the Laplace inverse transform to this transfer function, it is possible to obtain the equation in time and thus predict the displacement that occurs right in the first network cycle after the islanding.
