Abstract

A study was conducted to analyze a hybrid planar integrated circuit supporting a nonradiative dielectric resonator. It is coupled to input and output planar microstrip circuits using long shots found at the top ground plane of the nonradiative dielectric structure. A reciprocity method was then utilized to determine solutions to the coupling problem between the resonator and microstrip lines.

23. Investigation of structural and electrochemical properties of SrFexCo1-xO3-δperovskite oxides as a supercapacitor electrode material

Abstract

In this study, perovskite materials SrFexCo1-xO3-δ(SCF-x, x = 0.2, 0.5, 0.8) were synthesized by sol-gel combustion and investigated as electrode materials for supercapacitors. The crystalline structure and morphology of the synthesized samples were thoroughly investigated using X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Raman spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) analyses. Partial substitution in the B-site of the perovskite structure affects the oxygen vacancy concentration and changes its electrochemical properties. Among the synthesized samples, SCF-0.8 exhibited a faradaic behavior and the highest specific capacitance (433 F·g−1) at 2 A·g−1current density. This sample also has a lower inherent resistance to ion and electron diffusion. The better electrochemical performance of SCF-0.8 is due to its morphology, perovskite crystal structure, and greater oxygen vacancy concentration. Long charge-discharge cycles were utilized to test the electrochemical stability of SCF-0.8. The specific capacitance reached around 60 % of its initial value after 2500 charge-discharge cycles.

Abstract

Background: The efficacy of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels in predicting the severity of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection is unclear., Objective: To compare histologic scoring of liver pathology in patients with chronic HCV infection with normal or elevated serum ALT., Methods: Liver biopsies were performed in patients with HCV infection and either normal (n=40) or elevated (n=76) serum ALT levels, and scored for activity and fibrosis using the modified histological activity index., Results: Patients with normal ALT and elevated ALT had similar demographic features. Median (range) histological activity grade was higher in patients with elevated ALT than in those with normal ALT (6 [1-15] vs. 5 [0-11], respectively; p=0.001), as was the fibrosis stage (2 [0-6] vs. 1[0-6]; p=0.02). Two patients with normal ALT and 4 with elevated ALT had liver cirrhosis., Conclusions: Among patients with chronic HCV infection, liver lesions are milder in those with normal serum ALT levels than those with abnormal ALT levels. However, some patients with normal ALT too may have advanced liver disease.
