Background: The use of online information and communication is globally increasing in the healthcare sector. In addition to known benefits in other medical fields, possible specific potentials of eHealth lie in the monitoring of oncological patients undergoing outpatient therapy. Specifically, the treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) requires intensive monitoring due to various possible negative side effects. The present study explores cancer patients' perspectives on eHealth and demonstrates how eHealth applications, from the patients' point of view, can contribute to further improving outpatient immunotherapy. Methods and findings: Our multicenter study was executed at the university hospitals in Bonn and Aachen. A structured questionnaire was distributed to patients receiving outpatient immunotherapy. Contents addressed were (1) the patients' attitude towards eHealth applications, (2) the use of modern information and communications technologies (ICT) in (2a) everyday life and (2b) health-related information search including eHealth literacy, (3) the use of internet-enabled devices as well as (4) socio-demographic data. 164 patients were included in the study, of whom 39.0% were female and 61.0% male and the average age was 62.8 years. Overall, there was a high distribution of internet-enabled devices for everyday use and a great interest in integrating eHealth applications into outpatient immunotherapy. The assessment of eHealth potentials significantly depended on age. The younger participants demonstrated a broader use of modern ICT and a higher affinity for its use in outpatient immunotherapy. In some aspects, level of education and gender were also relevant factors influencing the patients' view on eHealth. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the potential for further integration of eHealth applications into outpatient immunotherapy from the patients' perspective. It indicates a dependency on age and educational level for the further integration of eHealth into patient care in oncology. Due to particular patient needs regarding age, level of education, gender and other subgroups, specific education and training as well as target-group specific digital health interventions are necessary to fully utilize the potentials of eHealth for outpatient immunotherapy. Future studies are required to specifically address target-group specific usability of eHealth applications and eHealth literacy, as well as to address information security and data protection. Among the extensive literature on the first Critique, very few commentators offer a thorough analysis of Kant's conception of inner sense. This is quite surprising since the notion is central to Kant's theoretical philosophy, and it is very difficult to provide a consistent interpretation of this notion. In this paper, I first summarize Kant's claims about inner sense in the Transcendental Aesthetic and show why existing interpretations have been unable to dissolve the tensions arising from the conjunction of these claims. Secondly, I present my own reconstruction of Kant's model of inner sense, relying essentially on Kantian considerations found in the B-version of the Transcendental Deduction. My main idea is that inner sense, for Kant, is a passive faculty that gets affected by the understanding performing its figurative synthesis on material given in outer sense. Idecabtagene vicleucel (ide-cel) and ciltacabtagene autoleucel (cilta-cel) have revolutionized the treatment of relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM), but direct comparisons are lacking. Leveraging an international multicenter RRMM cohort, we compared the outcome of ide-cel ( n  = 162) versus cilta-cel ( n  = 42). Co-primary efficacy endpoints of the study were overall response rate (ORR) and progression-free survival (PFS). Co-primary safety endpoints were the incidence of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune-effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS). Median turnaround time between apheresis and infusion was 47 days for ide-cel versus 68 days for cilta-cel ( p  < 0.001). Cilta-cel showed significantly higher ORR (93% vs. 79%; p  < 0.001), with complete response at Day 30 of 48% versus 26% ( p  < 0.001). The 10-month PFS and overall survival (OS) was 82% and 90% for cilta-cel versus 47% and 77% ide-cel ( p  < 0.001 and p  = 0.06), and improved outcome for cilta-cel was confirmed after multivariable adjustment. Incidence of CRS and ICANS appeared similar (81% and 19% for cilta-cel versus 85% and 19% for ide-cel), while 10% and 7% in the cilta-cel group versus 4% and 2% in the ide-cel group showed severe CRS and ICANS grade 3-4, with CRS occurring significantly earlier for ide-cel (median, 2 days vs. 4 days; p  < 0.001). Nonrelapse mortality was 5% for cilta-cel versus 3% for ide-cel ( p  = 0.51). Cilta-cel showed later peak of CAR-T expansion at Day 14 versus Day 7 for ide-cel, while cilta-cel expansion was associated with ICANS. Introduction: Diagnosis of a polysymptomatic, rare parasitosis requires collaboration of internal specialists, tropical disease specialists, parasitologists and dermatologists., History: The course of disease is shown in a 66-year-old woman who regularly travels to Cameroon and presented with remarkable hypereosinophilia and pruritus with urticarial swellings., Findings and Diagnosis: Using interdisciplinary diagnostics based on travel history, symptoms and laboratory results an occult amicrofilaraemic Loa loa infection with immunological hyperreaction to the parasite antigen, reactive hypereosinophilia and high antibody titers was diagnosed., Therapy and Course: Anthelmintic therapy was inducted with ivermectin and diethylcarbamazine. Treatment with ivermectin alone resulted in a prompt regression of symptoms and decrease of eosinophil levels and antibody titers., Conclusions: Parasitic diseases like L. loa infections are extremely rare in Europe but should be considered as differential diagnosis at an early stage when patients present with appropriate travel history and clinical findings. There is a lack of standardized therapy and follow-up recommendations.
