A new species of the genus Phytocoris Fallen, subgenus Compsocerocoris, is described from southeastern Anatolia, Turkey: Phytocoris iyribozi sp. n. The new species is closely related to the species of the dashtanus species-group within the subgenus but differs from them by remarkably small size, short first antennal segment, small ocular index of male and shape of left paramere. To distinguish the new species, an updated identification key of the dashtanus species-group is presented. Additionally, a checklist of Phytocoris species of Turkey with chorotypes of each species is given. A total of 43 species of Phytocoris is listed from Turkey and the chorotype analysis revealed that 23.3% (10 of 43) of species are endemic to Turkey and 60.6% (26 of 43) are distributed only locally in Turkey and its neighbouring countries.

Background. The article presents the results of the research on bumblebees (Hymenoptera: Apidae: Bombus) housed in the Lodos Entomological Museum (Ege University, Izmir, Turkey). Bumblebees play a key role in ecosystems as pollinators. However, these insects are under threat due to changes in land use and agricultural practices, habitat fragmentation and the effects of pesticides. There are 47 Bombus species occuring on the territory of Turkey. The aim of this study is to present new locality records of the material on the Bombus fauna of Turkey preserved in the Lodos Entomological Museum, Turkey. Materials and Methods. The objects of our research were bumblebees collected from different localities of Turkey between 1975 and 2016 and housed in the Lodos Entomological Museum. Insects were collected by researchers, students and amateurs. We used stereoscopic microscope MBS-2 and specialized keys for bumblebee identification. The classification of bumblebees follows P. H. Williams. Results. We analyzed 121 specimens of bumblebees that belong to six species (Bombus terrestris, B. argillaceus, B. hortorum, B. campestris, B. fragrans, B. ruderarius) and Bombus lucorum-complex (including two very similar species Bombus cryptarum and B. lucorum). The information on the specimens’ location and brief notes on the plants on which they were foraging is provided. Five of the analyzed species and Bombus lucorum-complex are listed in the category “Least Concern” of the IUCN Red List. Bombus fragrans is listed as “Endangered” and is under threat from the intensification of agriculture, habitat shifting and alteration, climate change (droughts, temperature extremes), besides this species is also subject to commercial collection. Conclusions. We found new locality records for three Bombus species: B. campestris recorded from Izmir for the first time, B. terrestris – from Kocaeli and B. hortorum from Antalya, Aydın, Eskişehir and Izmir provinces. Further studies aiming to improve the knowledge on Bombus fauna should focus on collecting in little-known areas and some specific habitats of Turkey.

In this study, the following three species of Lygaeoidea were recorded from Turkey: Emblethis solitarius Jakovlev, 1882; Orsillodes longirostris Puton, 1884 (both Rhyparochromidae) and Horvathiolus kiritshenkoi kiritshenkoi Josifov, 1965 (Lygaeidae). Among them E. solitarius Jakovlev, 1881 was recorded from Turkey for the first time and additional data on the distribution of H. kiritshenkoi kiritshenkoi and O. longirostris previously known only from one or two localities from Turkey was added. Horvathiolus kiritshenkoi kiritshenkoi was redescribed and new diagnostic characters were added. Photographs of macropterous form of H. kiritshenkoi kiritshenkoi and adult forms of the other two species were given. Supplementary material of Adelphophylus oenderi Çerçi, Koçak & Tezcan, 2019 (Miridae: Phylinae) was also reported. Reuteria serratis sp. n. (Fig. 2) Type Material: HOLOTYPE: Siirt: 13. VII. 2009, 1 male, I. ��zgen coll. & B. ��er��i det. (LEMT). Differential diagnosis: Combination of following characters differentiates this species from its congeners; background coloration green with white maculation, membranal cells white with green maculation, left paramere with a long lateral process which is straight, perpendicular to the body and bears a small dent directing downwards apically, right paramere V-shaped and bearing small denticules on both processes, vesica with two sclerotized processes as in Fig. 2 D���E. Description of male: Coloration: Background green, with white staining. Head pale green with four yellowish dots, antennae missing. Pronotum green, posterior lobe with three diffuse longitudinal pale stripes. Scutellum whitish with green lateral borders and green median stripe. Hemelytra green with white staining, membranal cells white with green staining. Legs missing. Vestiture: Setae are missing due to poor condition of the specimen. Structure: Length 3.6 mm, body oblong-ovate, 3.6 �� as long as width posterior margin of pronotum. Head transverse, ocular index 1.4. Antennae missing. Pronotum transverse, posterior margin 1.7 �� as wide as anterior margin, 2.3 �� as wide as long. Hemelytra parallel sided. Genital opening with sclerotized spine along left margin. Left paramere Y-shaped, lateral process forming almost 90 degrees angle with body of paramere, apically provided with small dent directed downwards (Fig. 2B). Right paramere V-shaped, lateral process closer to base, directed obliquely and bearing several denticules, apical process straight and bearing small denticules as well (Fig. 2C). Vesica with two processes as in Fig. 2 D���E. Female: Unknown. Etymology: The new species is named after the serrated (serratus in Latin) edges of its characteristically shaped vesical processes. Comments: The description of this new species is based on a single male specimen in bad condition (legs, antennae and most of membrane missing). Unfortunately, it was not possible to collect further specimens from the type locality. But still, the very characteristic shapes of parameres and vesical processes allow us to describe this specimen as a novel species. General coloration and structure of the species is very similar to R. riegeri torosensis ssp. n. and R. jordanica except for the dominant green coloration of dorsum which is less dominant in R. jordanica. But the V-shaped right paramere, unique left paramere and two uniquely shaped vesical processes easily distinguish this new species from both R. riegeri and R. jordanica, as well as the rest of the Reuteria species. Differential diagnosis: Combination of following characters differentiates this species from its congeners: Background coloration whitish, with green staining, first antennal segment with two black longitudinal stripes on opposite surfaces, second antennal segment with a dark ring basally, hemelytra slightly enlarged towards the apex of the corium, right paramere with a strongly inward bent apical process and fan-shaped apically serrated lateral process (Fig. 3 D-E), vesica with four sclerotized processes as in Fig. 3 F���G. Redescription of male: Coloration: Ground coloration white, with green maculation. Head pale, immaculate. Antennae pale yellow colored, first antennal segment with two longitudinal black stripes on opposite surfaces, second antennal segment with narrow dark ring above very narrow pale ring basally, rest of antennae immaculate. Pronotum pale with traces of green maculation on the posterior lobe. Scutellum pale, mostly immaculate, sometimes with pale green median stripe. Hemelytra whitish with big rounded green dots, green coloration may be absent due to poor conditions of specimens, tip of cuneus with small and distinct dark green dot, membrane pale, diffusely embrowned towards apex, membranal cells immaculate, veins green. Femora yellow, anterior and middle ones immaculate, posterior one with more or less distinct green maculation on dorsal surface, tibiae yellow with green dot at femoral joint, posterior one sometimes with additional longitudinal green stripe on distal third. Vestiture: General vestiture consists of long, dense and semi-erect silvery setae. Head with long, dense and erected silvery setae. Antennae covered with very short adpressed pale setae. Pronotum, scutellum and hemelytra covered with long, dense and semi-erect silvery setae, additionally, hemelytra bear occasional long and erect dark hairs. Tibiae with pale spines which are slightly longer than width of tibia. Structure: Length 3.4���3.8 mm, body oblong-ovate, 3.5 �� as long as width posterior margin of pronotum. Head transverse, 2.7 �� as wide as long, 0.6 �� as wide as width posterior margin of pronotum, ocular index 2.5. Antennae long, 0.8 �� as long as body length, first antennal segment 0.5 �� as long as diatone, second antennal segment 1.2 �� as long as width posterior margin of pronotum, ratios of antennal segments 16: 48: 29: 20. Pronotum strongly trapezoid, posterior margin 2.0 �� as wide as anterior one, 1.8 �� as wide as long, lateral margins and basal margin straight. Hemelytra sub-parallel sided, slightly enlarged towards distal of corium, at widest part 1.3 �� as wide as basal width, largely exceeding abdomen. Very similar to male in coloration, vestiture and structure but ocular index 2.6���3.0 and second antennal segment 1.3���1.6 �� as long as width of posterior margin of the pronotum. Host plant: Many of the specimens were collected from Quercus sp. Comment: R. winkelmanni was described from Antalya by G��nther & Strauss (2018) based on a well preserved single male specimen. They distinguished their new species from all other species of the genus mainly based on the unique shape of the parameres and the vesical processes. We examined 16 specimens collected from Antalya and Mersin which were previously identified as R. marqueti by Lodos et al. (2003). Our examination showed that all these specimens in fact belong to R. winkelmanni. We also had the chance to examine the previously undescribed female of R. winkelmanni. Left paramere with simple apical process and lateral process at median which is long and moderately bent along whole length and bears prominent sickle shaped dent apically (Fig. 1B). Right paramere elongated, bears numerous small dents on inner surface of apical half and very short lateral process protruding at median which also has few dents apically (Fig. 1 C���D). Vesica with four strongly sclerotized processes as in Fig. 1G (Note that one of branches of second vesical processes is missing in illustration of entire vesica, in order not to create confusion, a separate illustration showing intact second vesical processes is added separately, indicated with a straight line). But in specimens with weak coloration of dorsum, possibly teneral specimens, these processes may lack sclerotization and vesica may appear simple and lack of sclerotized processes as in Fig. 1H. Female: Very similar to male in all aspects, only ocular index is slightly greater, 1.8���2.0, and dark stripe along the external margin of membranal cell is lacking. Host plant: Quercus sp. Etymology: The holotype and allotype of this new subspecies was collected from Toros mountains in Southern Anatolia, therefore its name refers to its type locality. Comments: Reuteria riegeri riegeri was originally described from Lesbos Island, Greece. The holotype and paratypes were collected from Quercus macrolepis (Strauss & Simon 2014). According to Strauss & Simon (2014), R. riegeri riegeri differs from other species of this genus by the dominance of green coloration of dorsum, different coloration of antennal segments and distinctive parameres and vesica. Both R. serratis sp. n. and R. jordanica show a similar coloration pattern, but the former has remarkably different parameres & vesica and the latter is slightly bigger (3.9���4.2 mm), has a less dominant green coloration of dorsum and lacks sclerotized processes in vesica (Carapezza 2002). As discussed by Henry (1976), shape of parameres is a strong distinguishing character among the species of Reuteria and each species has very distinctive parameres. But in the case of R. riegeri and R. jordanica, both species have identical left paramere, and only slightly different right paramere. Even though both parameres of these two species are not strongly different, vesicas of them are; R. riegeri has four sclerotized processes in its vesica (Fig. 1 F���G) but R. jordanica lacks sclerotized processes in its vesica. Interestingly, among five male specimens of R. riegeri that we examined, two specimens had vesicas with such weakly sclerotized processes that they appeared almost deprived of sclerotized processes as in R. jordanica (Fig. 1H). As to the differences between the nominotypical subspecies and the subspecies torosensis ssp.n.; the lateral process of right paramere of R. riegeri riegeri is long and relatively slender (Fig. 1E), but it is invariably very short and thick in riegeri torosensis ssp. n., and right paramere is apically distinctly bifid in R. riegeri riegeri (Fig. 1E) but it is not apically bifid in three specimens of riegeri torosensis ssp. n. (Fig. 1C) and only a very scarcely separated small protrusion, as indicated by the arrow in Fig. 1D, can be seen in two of the specimens of riegeri torosensis ssp. n. and ocular index of male is 1.4���1.5 in riegeri riegeri but 1.6���1.9 in riegeri torosensis ssp. n. R. jordanica, R. riegeri and R. serratis sp. n. differ from all other species of Reuteria by the more or less dominant green coloration and white maculation of dorsum, white membranal cells with green staining, immaculate antennal segments except a black dot on the ventral surface of first antennal segment (not known in R. serratis sp. n) and simpler paramere structure.

Bu çalışmada Türkiye ormanlarında saptanan Elateridae familyasına bağlı türler ve ilişkide oldukları bitkiler ele alınmış olup, 34 cinse (Adelocera, Adrastus, Aeoloderma, Agriotes, Agrypnus, Anostirus, Ampedus, Athous, Brachygonus, Calais, Cardiophorus, Crepidohorus, Dicronychus, Dolopius, Drapetes, Drasterius, Ectamenogonus, Elater, Elathous, Haterumelater, Hemicrepidius, Ischnodes, Lacon, Limonius, Melanotus, Mulsanteus, Nothodes, Peripontius, Pittonotus, Prosternon, Quasimus, Reitterelater, Synaptus ve Tolphorea) bağlı 110 elaterid türünün Türkiye orman ekosistemlerinde var olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Ayrıca bu türlerin Türkiye’deki yayılışları, endemizm durumları, örnekleme yöntemleri konusunda bilgiler verilerek, bundan sonraki dönemde bu konuda neler yapılabileceği belirtilmiştir.

EgeUn###, In this paper, two new Miridae species are described from Turkey, Adeiphophylus oenderi sp. nov. from Silifke (Mersin province) and Phytocoris (Exophytocoris) carapezzai sp. nov. from Merkez (Karaman province). Habitus of males and females and male genitalia of both species and female genitalia of A. oenderi sp. nov. are illustrated. Additionally, 10 Heteroptera species are recorded from Turkey for the first time: Campylomma miyamotoi Yasunaga. 2001. Compsidolon (Compsidolon) elegantulum Reuter, 1899, Hallodapus concolor (Reuter, 1890), Maurodactylus kukuensis V. G. Putshkov, 1978, Pinalitus viscicola (Puton. 1888), Platycranus alkestis Linnavuori, 1999, Zanchius breviceps (Wagner, 1951), Montandoniola moraguesi (Paton, 1896), Temnostethus (Temnostethus) gracilis Horvath, 1907, and Plinthisus (Isioscytus) minutissimus Fieber, 1864. Campylomma miyamotoi Yasunaga, 2001, an Eastern Palaearctic species bound to the ornamental Albizia julibrissin, is a new potentially alien species in the Western Palaearctic. The species status of Compsidolon (Compsidolon) parietariae V. G. Putshkov, 1984 is discussed.

The present study was conducted to determine adult emergence period and changes in population density of the pest Lyristes plebejus (Scopoli) in cherry orchards in Izmir province between 2005 and 2008. Studies to determine adult population density were conducted in each of 3 orchards where population changes were monitored in Kemalpaşa county by placing wooden cases 160x25x10 cm in size covering an area of 0.4 m2 with 7 wells covered with mosquito net under ten trees. In these cases, adult emergence under projection of petal of the tree was directly monitored by checking once every week. In the same orchard, ten trees were marked before the first adult emergence and last-stage nymph skin of the emerged adults were counted and removed after checking sub-petals, bodies and branches of the marked trees one to two times in a week. Thus, information was obtained indirectly on adult density. At the end of the present study, it was found that the most emergence of the adults of Lyristes plebejus in Izmir province was at late June and early July and that the adults were observed until early August. It was also determined that adult density varied annually and from one garden to another.

Buçalışma, İzmir ilinde kiraz ağaçlarında zararlı Lyristes plebejus (Scopoli)’un 2005-2008 yıllarındaki ergin uçuşseyri ve popülasyon değişimini belirlemek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Erginyoğunluğunu belirlemeye yönelik çalışmalar Kemalpaşa’da popülasyon değişimininizlendiği 3 bahçenin her birinde, 10’ar ağacın altına 0.4 m2 alanasahip birer adet 160x25x10 cm boyutlarında tahtadan yapılmış, üzeri sinekteliyle kaplı 7 bölmeli kasalar konularak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu kasalarlaağaç taç iz düşümü altında gerçekleşen ergin çıkışları haftada bir kez kontroledilerek doğrudan izlenmiştir. Ayrıca aynı bahçelerde ilk ergin çıkışından önce10 ağaç işaretlenmiş ve işaretlenen ağaçların taç altı, gövde ve dallarıhaftada bir-iki kez kontrol edilerek çıkış yapan erginlerin son dönem nimfgömlekleri sayılarak ortamdan uzaklaştırılmış ve böylece dolaylı olarak erginyoğunluğu hakkında bilgi edinilmiştir. In addition, it is emphasized that some factors affect invasivealien insect species and these factors can be listed as trade, transport,tourism and touristic mobility which increased in 19th and 20thcenturies and reached the highest point lately. This study points out theeffects and importance of these factors on these insect species. Some insect species namely silver leaf white fly [Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius,1889) (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae)], westernflower thrips [Frankliniella occidentalis (Pergande,1895) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae)], Colorado potatobeetle [Leptinotarsa decemlineata(Say, 1824) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)],serpentine leaf miner [Liriomyza huidobrensis (Blanchard, 1926) (Diptera: Agromyzidae)], citrusleafminer [(Phyllocnistiscitrella Stainton, 1856) (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae)] and tomatoleafminer [(Tutaabsoluta) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae)] are important invasivealien species distributed in Turkey.The negativities created by this kind of invasivealien insect species are mentioned in this study and these negativities rangefrom gen level to ecosystem level. Noting the steps taken by other countriesconcerning the negativities of invasive alien insect species, this study alsodiscusses what kind of cautions or steps can be taken in Turkey on this issue.

WOS: 000259141400016, Three new species of the ant genus Aphaenogaster (A. aktaci sp. n., A. maculifrons sp. n., A. radchenkoi sp. n.) are described from Turkey and their taxonomic positions are discussed. Aphaenogaster aktaci sp. n. belongs to the obsidiana group, A. maculifrons sp. n. to subterranea group and A. radchenkoi sp. n. to pallida group of the Attomyrma subgenus. Key characteristics for identification of the species and data on their ecology are given.

Several Cerambycidae species were recorded in cherry orchards (Cerasus avium) located in western Turkey. Among them Cerambyx carinatus and C. nodulosus cause significant damage to living cherry trees and should therefore be classified as physiological pests of Cerasus avium.

After his Ph.D., he was awarded as“Assistant of Professor”, “Associate Professor” and “Professor” at the sameFaculty in 1982, 1984 and 1991, respectively. Prof.Dr. Erdal Selmi had been thehead of the Program of Wild Life and Department of Forest Entomology andProtection between the years of 2002-2005 and 2007-2010, respectively. He retiredon 21st July 2013 and died on 13th August 2016. In thisbiography, academic activities and administrational duties of Prof. Dr. ErdalSelmi were given briefly. We wish mercy upon him.

76 noctuid species were collected by bait traps in ecologically cultivated cherry orchards in western Turkey. Among these, Acanthoplusia agnata (Staudinger, 1892), Agrochola lota (Clerck, 1759), Allophyes cretica Pinker & Reisser, 1978, Euxoa cursoria (Hufnagel, 1766), Paradrina suscianja von Mentzer, 1981 and Polymixis flavicincta ([Denis & Schiffermuller], 1775) are new records for the Turkish fauna. None of the species recorded is known as a pest of cherry trees.

In this study, it has been determined that totally 37 species belonging to Opatrinae, 38 species belonging to Tenebrioninae and 2 species belonging to Adeliinae subfamilies of Tenebrionidae occuring in the collection of LEMT (Lodos Entomological Museum Turkey). Amongst those Dendarus (Pandarinus) armeniacus Baudi, 1876, D. (Pandarinus) caelatus Brullé, 1832, Pedinus (s. str.) quadratus Brullé, 1832, P. (s. str.) reitteri Seidlitz, 1893, Lobodera (Penthomegus) iners Ménétriés, 1832, Blaps rotundata Solier, 1848 and Nalassus dryadophilus (Mulsant, 1854) are the first reliable records from Turkey. In addition to these 16 species are endemic., Bu çalışmada Opatrinae altfamilyasından 37, Tenebrioninae altfamilyasından 38 ve Adeliinae altfamilyasından 2 olmak üzere toplam 77 türün LEMT (Lodos Entomoloji Müzesi)’nde bulunduğu ortaya konmuştur. Bu çalışmada, özellikle Türkiye'nin batısından toplanan 19 tür ve alttüre ilişkin ek faunistik bilgiler verilmiş olup, bunlardan Tachyagetes furvescens Wahis, 1970 türünün Türkiye faunası için yeni kayıt olduğu saptanmıştır., In this study, additional notes on 19 species and subspecies belonging to Pompilidae has been given. Amongst those Tachyagetes furvescens Wahis, 1970 is the first record for Turkish fauna.

Data on horizontal and vertical distribution, collection methods and seasonal occurrence periods of all species were also analyzed in this study.

The family Selenopidae and selenopid spider Selenops radiatus Latreille, 1819 are recorded in Turkey for the first time.

This study is about examining the macro element ingredients of soil and leaf samples in the entegrated garden where Salihli and Sapıkısa types in Kemalpaşa Region are grown. At the soil analysis of organic gardens, nitrogen (N) and magnesium (Mg) were found in medium, phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) in low, calcium (Ca) in high quantities. It has been discovered in gardens where entegrated production is made that K, Ca, and Mg had the same properties with the gardens where organic production is made but, N and P had high values. In both production methods, it has been found out that N which is a leaf food element had values much lower than the value it should have had, P and Mg had sufficient values, K and Ca had lower values. The relations between the results were examined and the total nutrition and nutrition balance data between N, P, K and K, Ca, Mg in leaf samples were evaluated.

Bu çalışmada İzmir, Kemalpaşa’daki entegre kiraz bahçelerinde 2005-2007 yıllarında ışık tuzaklarla toplanan taklaböcekleri ele alınmıştır. Çalışmalar her biri yaklaşık 5 dekar büyüklüğünde olan bahçelerde gerçekleştirilmiş olup, bu bahçelerdeki yaygın çeşitler Sapıkısa, Early Burlat, Kemalpaşa Napolyon ve Salihli (0900 Ziraat)’dir. Her bir bahçeye haziran ortasından, eylül ortasına kadar olan dönemde birer adet ışık tuzak konulmuştur. Her tuzakta birer adet 20 Watt’lık enerji tasarruflu beyaz ışık veren ampul kullanılmış ve toplanan materyal ikişer haftalık aralıklarla tuzaklardan alınmıştır. Çalışmanın sonunda 4 altfamilyaya bağlı 7 tür belirlenmiş olup, bunlar Adelocera pygmaea (Baudi, 1871), Drasterius bimaculatus (Rossi, 1790), Mulsanteus guillebeaui (Mulsant et Godart, 1853), Pittonotus theseus (Germar, 1817), Melanotus fusciceps (Gyllenhal, 1817), Athous haemorrhoidalis (Fabricius, 1801) ve Nothodes parvulus (Panzer, 1799)’tur. Bunlardan Adelocera pygmaea (Baudi, 1871) ve Mulsanteus guillebeaui (Mulsant et Godart, 1853) İzmir ve Ege Bölgesi’nden ilk kez bildirilmektedir., In this study, click beetles collected by light trap method in Kemalpaşa district, Izmir province, Western Turkey during the years of 2005-2007 were evaluated. Studies were conducted in four orchards in size of about 0,5 hectare for each. The common varieties in those orchards were Sapıkısa, Early Burlat, Kemalpaşa Napolyon and Salihli (0900 Ziraat). One light trap on the ground was used for each area from the mid June to the mid September. A 20 watt energy saver white day light bulb was used at each trap and traps were cleared at two weeks’ intervals. A total of 7 species [Adelocera pygmaea (Baudi, 1871), Drasterius bimaculatus (Rossi, 1790), Mulsanteus guillebeaui (Mulsant et Godart, 1853), Pittonotus theseus (Germar, 1817), Melanotus fusciceps (Gyllenhal, 1817), Athous haemorrhoidalis (Fabricius, 1801) and Nothodes parvulus (Panzer, 1799)] belonging to 4 subfamilies were recorded. Among those two species, namely Adelocera pygmaea (Baudi, 1871) and Mulsanteus guillebeaui (Mulsant et Godart, 1853) were reported for the first time from Izmir province and Aegean Region of Turkey.

Bu çalışma katılımcıların doğaya ve böceklere bakış açısını değerlendirmek üzere yapılmış iki anketin sonuçlarını içermektedir. İzmir’de yürütülen bu anketlerden ilki 2003 yılında düzenlenen Bilim Fuarı’nda 2030 kişiyle, ikincisi ise 2004 yılında düzenlenen Eğitim Bilim Şenliği’nde 913 kişiyle yapılmıştır. Katılımcı profilinin incelenmesiyle cinsiyetler oranının eşit; 25 yaş altı katılımcı oranının % 90’ın üzerinde; ilköğretim ikinci kademe öğrencilerinin oranının % 40-49 arasında olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Katılımcıların böceklere bakışları incelendiğinde evinde böcek besleyenlerin oranının (% 22-23) düşük, fakat besleme istekliliğinin (% 56-57) daha yüksek olduğu görülmüştür. Böcek koleksiyonu yapmak isteyenler % 51-53 oranlarında; doğadaki canlıları ve böcekleri konu alan etkinliklere katılma istekliliği % 65-70 oranındadır. Katılımcıların % 37-38’i böceklerden korktuklarını, tiksindiklerini; % 19-20’si ise onları sevimli ve ilginç canlılar olarak bulduklarını belirtmişlerdir. Bu sonuçlar genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde, katılımcıların doğaya ve böceklere bakış açılarının pozitif, doğayla ilişki kurmaya istekli, doğanın ve böceklerin farkında fakat temkinle yaklaşma eğiliminde oldukları anlaşılmaktadır. İnsanlara bilimi ve doğayı sevdirmeyi amaçlayan bu nitelikteki etkinliklerin desteklenmesinde ve yaygınlaştırılma- sında çok büyük yarar olduğu ortadadır. Başta eğitim programlarını yapanlar olmak üzere böcek ve doğa bilimleri konusunda çalışan kurumların, vakıfların ve derneklerin de üzerlerine düşeni yapması önemlidir. Bu durum çevre, doğa ve böcekler konusunda daha bilinçli yeni kuşakların oluşturulması yönünden önem taşımaktadır., This study contains the results of two questionnaires carried out evaluate the viewpoints of participants on nature and insects. The first questionnaire was carried out at Science Fair with the participation of 2030 people in 2003 and the second one was conducted at Education and Science Festival with the participation of 913 people in 2004 in Izmir, Turkey. It was understood that according to the evaluation of participant profile, the rate of sexuality was equal; the rate of participants under 25 years old was over 90%; the rate of secondary level school students was 40-49%. When the viewpoints of the participants on insects with their tendencies were studied, it was also understood that among the participants; the rate of those who keep insects at home was rather low (22-23%); but despite the controversial criteria mentioned above the willingness of those who would like to keep insects and pets at home is rather high (56-57%). While the rate of those who would like to collect insects was 51-53%, the rate of those who would like to take part in the activities arranged on nature and insects is 65-70%. Whereas 37-38% of the participants felt afraid of the insects and hated them at the same time, 19-20% of them claimed that they have found them as lovely and interesting creatures. When these results were evaluated all together it was concluded that the participants demonstrated great interest in living creatures and nature and they all wanted to be in intimate contact with nature, that they all have been aware of the nature and insects, but they had been approaching this particular world cautiously. It is quite obvious that these activities which aim at making people appreciate the science and nature should be supported and promoted. Primarily education programmers and following them those who are engaged in the field of natural sciences and entomology and such like organizations should take the required responsibility and consideration. It is high time we created new generations who are conscious of the environment, nature and insects.

As a result of this study, 20 species belonging to seven families were determined. Among them A. mellifera was found as common and abundant species. Fourteen species were collected from Origanum sp., four species were collected from Coridothymus capitatus and two species were collected from both Origanum sp. and Coridothymus capitatus.

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'nin farklı yörelerinden 1957-1990 yılları arasında toplanan ve LEMT (Lodos Entomoloji Müzesi, İzmir) koleksiyonunda korunan Tabanidae (Diptera) familyasına ait örnekler değerlendirilmiş ve 36 tür belirlenmiştir. Bu çalışmayla daha önce Türkiye'de varlığı bilinen bu türlerden bazıları için yeni lokaliteler bildirilmiştir. Bu türlerden Tabanus lunatus Fabricius, 1794 ve T. bifarius Loew, 1858'un en yaygın türler olduğu anlaşılmıştır., In this study, the material of the family Tabanidae (Diptera) was collected from different localities of Turkey in 1957-1990 and it has been determined that totally 36 species belonging to this family occurring in the collection of LEMT (Lodos Entomological Museum, Turkey). Some new localities were found for some species previously known in Turkey. Among them, Tabanus lunatus Fabricius, 1794 and T. bifarius Loew, 1858 were widespread species.

Bu çalışmada Lixinae altfamilyasindan 60 türün Türkiye'deki yayılışlarına ilişkin yeni bilgiler verilmiştir. Materyal Türkiye'nin değişik yörelerinden 1933-1996 yılları arasında toplanmıştır. Ele alınan türlerden en bol bulunanları Larinus latus (Herbst) ve Lixus cardui Olivier'dir., In this study, the new localities of 60 species belonging to Lixinae subfamily of Curculionidae has been determined. Material from the different parts of Turkey have been collected during the years of 1933-1996. Amongst those Larinus latus (Herbst) and Lixus cardui Olivier are more widespread compared to the others.

Bu çalışma 1998 ve 1999 yıllarında Turgutlu ve Salihli yörelerindeki kültür kekiği tarlalarında bulunan Noctuidae familyası türlerini ortaya koyma amacıyla yapılmış ve bu familyanın üç cinsine bağlı üç tür belirlenmiştir. Bu türler Heüothis peltigera (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775), Trichoplusia ni (Hübner, 1803) ve Macdunnoughia confusa (Stephens, 1850) 'dır., This study was carried out to determine the Noctuidae fauna of the Origanum spp. in two fields at Turgutlu and Salihli provinces during the years of 1998 and 1999. As a result of studies, 3 species belonging to three genera were determined. Those were Heliothis peltigera (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775), Trichoplusia ni (Hübner, 1803) and Macdunnoughiaconfusa (Stephens, 1850).

(Udanellus) brevis Gyllenhal, 1834, P. (s. str.) canus Gyllenhal, 1834 ve P. (s. str.) cupreoaureus Stierlin, 1861 'dur. Bu türlerden en bol bulunanı polifag özellik gösteren P. canus'tur. P.brevis'in İzmir'de, P.cupreoaureus'un İzmir ve Manisa'da bulundukları ilk kez bü çalışmayla ortaya konulmuştur., A total of 3 species belonging to Phyllobius were determined in ecologically managed cherry orchards (Prunus avium Linnaeus) located in Izmir and Manisa, western Turkey, during 1998 and 1999. Amongst those Megascolia maculata maculata (Drury, 1773) is the most common subspecies.

Amongst those Adelostoma subtile Reitter, 1900 and Ceratanisus tristis (Faldermann, 1837) are the first reliable records from Turkey and 12 species are endemic.

Çalışma Bozdağ'da dere içi, otsu bitkiler, çalı, meşe ve kestane olmak üzere beş farklı biyotopta toprak içine yerleştirilen etilen glikollü çukur tuzaklarla 2001 yılı Nisan-Ekim aylarında gerçekleştirilmiş ve Tenebrionidae familyasının on altfamilyasma bağlı 20 tür belirlenmiştir. Gerek yakalanan tür sayısı, gerekse birey sayısı yönünden en zengin biyotop meşe biyotopu olup, her biyotopta yer alan ve en bol bulunan türün Dendarus messenius Brulle olduğu, Tentyria rotundata mittrei Solier, Pimelia subglobosa polita Solier ve Probaticus tenebricosus-Erulle 'un dörder biyotopta yer aldığı ortaya konmuştur., Studies have been carried out in five different biotopes such as the zones of stream plants, grasses, bushes, oaks and chestnut trees. Consequently, 20 species belonging to ten subfamilies of Tenebrionidae have been determined by use of the pitfall traps during the period of April-October, 2001. Biotope containing oak trees is the richest one in terms of both the numbers of species and specimens trapped in the area. Among the trapped species it has been found out that Dendarus messenius Brulle has been captured in all the five biotopes and that Tentyria rotundata mittrei Solier, Pimelia subglobosa polita Solier and Probaticus tenebricosus Brulle have been encountered in four biotopes.

İzmir ve Manisa’daki ekolojik kiraz (Prunus avium Linnaeus) bahçelerinde 1998 ve 1999 yıllarında yü-rütülen bu çalışmada besin ve sarı yapışkan görsel tuzaklarla Thyatiridae, Papilionidae, Pieridae, Nymphalidae ve Satyridae familyalarına bağlı 13 tür saptanmıştır. Belirlenen türler Thyatiridae familyasından Tethea ocularis (Linnaeus, 1767), T. or (Denis-Schiffermüller, 1775); Papilionidae familyasından Iphiclides podalirius (Linnaeus, 1758) ve Papilio machaon (Linnaeus, 1758); Pieridae familyasından Pieris brassicae (Linnaeus, 1758), P. rapae (Linnaeus, 1758); Nymphalidae familyasından Charaxes jasius (Linnaeus, 1767), Vanessa atalanta (Linnaeus, 1758), Cynthia cardui (Linnaeus, 1758), Polygonia c-album (Linnaeus, 1758), Nymphalis polychloros (Linnaeus, 1758), N. antiopa (Linnaeus, 1758); Satyridae familyasından Brintesia circe (Fabricius, 1775)’dir., A total of 13 species belonging to five families of Lepidoptera were collected by bait and sticky yellow traps in ecologically managed cherry orchards (Prunus avium Linnaeus) located in Izmir and Manisa, western Turkey during 1998 and 1999. These were Tethea ocularis (Linnaeus, 1767), T. or (Denis-Schiffermüller, 1775) (Thyatiridae); Iphiclides podalirius (Linnaeus, 1758) and Papilio machaon (Linnaeus, 1758) (Papilionidae); Pieris brassicae (Linnaeus, 1758), P. rapae (Linnaeus, 1758) (Pieridae); Charaxes jasius (Linnaeus, 1767), Vanessa atalanta (Linnaeus, 1758), Cynthia cardui (Linnaeus, 1758), Polygonia c-album (Linnaeus, 1758), Nymphalis polychloros (Linnaeus, 1758), N. antiopa (Linnaeus, 1758) (Nymphalidae); Brintesia circe (Fabricius, 1775) (Satyridae).

1998 ve 1999 yıllarında İzmir ve Manisa'daki ekolojik kiraz (Prunus aviıtm Linnaeus) bahçelerinde yürütülen bu çalışmada besin tuzaklarla Nitidulidae familyasına bağlı 4 tür saptanmıştır. Belirlenen türler Urophorus humeralis (Fabricius), Carpophilus bipustulatus Heer, C. hemipterus Linnaeus ve C mutilatus Erichson'dur. En bol bulunan tür ise Urophorus humeralis'dir., A total of 4 Nitidulidae species were collected by bait traps in ecologically managed cherry orchards (Prunus avium Linnaeus) located in Izmir and Manisa, western Turkey during 1998 and 1999. Bu turler P. jucundus Miller, 1862, P. angustus (Lucas, 1854), P. baudii (Faust, 1889), P. cylindrithorax Desbrochers, 1900, P. gracilicornis Kiesenwetter, 1864, P. kahri Kirsch, 1865, P. marcidus Kiesenwetter, 1864, P. quadraticollis Desbrochers, 1902, P. mollis (Strom, 1768), P. corruscus Germar, 1824, P. armipes Brulle, 1832, P. pilosus Gredler, 1866, P. ornatus Gyllenhal, 1834, P. hirsutipennis Pic, 1908, P. tonsus Desbrochers, 1897, P. astutus Gyllenhal, 1834, P. inustus Germar, 1824, P. ponticus Faust, 1888 ve P. roseiceps Pesarini, 1975’dir.

Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'nin değişik yerlerinden 1960 yılından sonra toplanarak Ege Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Bitki Koruma Bölümü müzesi koleksiyonunda korunmakta olan Anthaxia (subgenus Haplanthaxia) cinsine bağlı 22 tür ele alınmıştır. Her türün yayılışı, toplandığı yöre ve üzerinden toplandığı bitkiler belirtilerek konuyla ilgili önceki literatürün ışığında Türkiye'deki yayılışları haritalarla gösterilmiştir. Bunlardan A. bettagi Türkiye faunası için ilk kayıttır A. bosdaghensis, A. cavazzutii, A. mundula, A. niehuisi, A. ovaciki, A. parapleuralis ve A. serena'nın endemik türler olduğu belirlenmiştir. A. cichoriî, A. millefolii, A. praeclara ve A. umbellatarum ise en yaygın ve bol olan türlerdir., This paper provides faunistic information about 22 species of Anthaxia Eschscholtz, 1829 (subgenus Haplanthaxia Reitter, 1911) cited from Turkey. Amongst those Anthaxia bettagi Niehuis, 1983 is the new record for Turkish fauna. A. bosdaghensis, A. cavazzutii, A. mundula, A. niehuisi, A. ovaciki, A. para-pleuralis and A. serena are endemic species.
