Bu çalışmada açık hücreli alüminyum köpükler ısı değiştirici formuna getirilip iki boyutlu ısı transferi deneysel ve sayısal olarak incelenmiştir. 10, 20 ve 30 PPI (Number of Pores Per Inch) gözenek yoğunluklarına sahip açık hücre alüminyum köpükler sabit ısı akısı için ısı değiştiricinin kanatlarını oluşturmuştur. Alüminyum köpük üzerinde, X-Y düzleminde özellikle ısıtıcıya yakın bölgelerde sık olarak yerleştirilen ısıl çiftlerle sıcaklıklar ölçülmüştür. Elde edilen sıcaklıklar yardımıyla bütün yüzey üzerindeki sıcaklık dağılımı bulunmuştur. Grafikler, yüzey sıcaklıkları ve giriş sıcaklığı (?T) arasındaki farka dayalı olarak çizilmiştir. Ayrıca her üç ısı değiştirici için basınç düşüşü bulunmuştur. Sistem için iki boyutlu ısı transferi denklemleri sayısal olarak elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen denklemler merkezi fark yöntemi kullanılarak çözülmüştür., In this study, heat transfer was investigated in open cell aluminum foams formed into a heat exchanger experimentally and numerically as two dimensional. The open cell aluminum foams with pore density of 10, 20, 30 PPI were used as the heat exchanger fins formed for a constant heat flow. Temperatures were measured using thermocouples located on several points in the X-Y planes of the aluminum foams especially on areas near the heaters. The temperature distribution for the whole area was obtained from the measured temperatures,. The graphs were plotted based on the difference between the surface temperatures and the inlet temperature (?T). In aditıon for each of the three heat exchanger pressure drop was found. Two dimensional heat transfer equations for the system were derived in the numerical solution. Then the obtained equations were discretized by using the central difference method and finally solved.

As one of the main inputs and most important tool in production activities, energy is among inevitable means in achieving people's economic and social welfare. For this reason, it is necessary that the energy needs as a result of rising life standards and increasing population are met sufficiently, reliably and at affordable costs. While, the Pumped Hydroelectric Energy Storage (PHES) system, one of the renewable energy resources, was once planned to cover the peak energy demands, nowadays it can also be used for the purpose of storing energy. Prior to the use as a renewable energy resource, the PHES systems were generally operated at pump modes during nights. That is at times of low energy costs or low energy consumptions and operated at turbine modes during peak demands. However; nowadays PHES systems operate for storing renewable energy resources or depending on their settings within a day, they can operate in a pump or turbine mode at every hour of the day. And with this in mind, new projects are planned and carried out. Generally speaking, all developed countries are in need of PHES systems in their energy portfolios. Turkey is particularly in acute demand of these systems now than any time ever, parallel with the developments of nuclear energy plants and renewable energy resources. This study investigates the current and future positions of PHES systems in Turkey and in the word as a whole., Enerji toplumsal refahın sağlanması için gerekli araçlardan ve üretim faaliyetlerinin ana girdilerinden biri olarak, ekonomik ve sosyal kalkınmanın vazgeçilmez temel taşlarından biridir. Bu nedenle, endüstrideki gelişmelerin, yaşam standartlarındaki yükselişin ve artan nüfusun ihtiyaç duyduğu enerjinin yeterli, güvenilir ve düşük maliyetle sağlanması ve sunulması önemlidir. Yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarından Pompaj Depolamalı Hidroelektrik Santraller (PDHES) önceleri pik talebin karşılanması için planlanırken, şimdilerde enerjinin depolanması maksadıyla da planlanmaktadır. PDHES’ler yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarından önce genel olarak geceleri yani enerjinin ucuz olduğu saatlerde veya enerjinin az kullanıldığı saatlerde pompa modunda, puant saatlerde veya enerjinin pahalı olduğu saatlerde de türbin modunda çalıştırılmaktaydı. Şimdi ise yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarının depolanması veya gün içerisinde düzenlenmesine göre PDHES’ler günün her saatinde pompa ve türbin modunda çalışmaya başlamış ve bu maksatla da yeni yeni projeler planlanmakta ve inşa edilmektedir. Genelde tüm gelişmiş ülkelerin portföyünde bulunan PDHES’lere, özellikle ülkemizde nükleer santraller ve yenilenebilir enerji kaynaklarının gelişimine paralel olarak bugün her zamankinden daha çok ihtiyaç vardır. Bu çalışmada Dünyada ve Ülkemizde mevcut PDHES’ler ve gelecekteki durumları incelenmiştir.

In this study, performances (ΔT= Tx,y- Ti) of open cell aluminum foams are investigated experimentally for three different situations with GIS (Geographical Information System) based support methodology. In the 1st situation; the conditions were 10 PPI, u=1 and 2 m/s, X=0-200 mm, Y=0-100 mm. In the 2nd situation; 20 PPI, u=1 and 2 m/s, X=0-200 mm, Y=0-100 mm. As in the 3rd situation; 30 PPI, u=1 and 2 m/s, X=0-200 mm, Y=0-100 mm. When the maximum performances of the three situations were compared, the following sequence appeared: ΔT10,2 < ΔT10,1

Çalışma, teorik ve deneysel olarak gerçekleştirildi. Teorik çalışmada, sistemin matematik modelini oluşturmak için, sisteme giren ve çıkan tüm büyüklükler ayrı ayrı ifade edildi. Daha sonra deneysel çalışmada öngörülen aylar için Konya Meteoroloji Bölge Müdürlüğünden alınan son 15 yıla ait veriler kullanılarak teorik sonuçlar elde edildi. Deneysel çalışma, Aralık, Ocak ve Şubat ayları için yapıldı. Çift fazlı güneş kollektöründe R–11, ısı pompası sisteminde ise R–22 akışkan olarak kullanıldı. Kollektördeki buharlaşmayı hızlandırmak için boru içerisine özel formda hazırlanan profiller yerleştirildi. Hava+su-hava çalışan sistemin konvansiyonel sisteme göre Isıtma Tesir Katsayısı (ITK)’ nda %24 lük bir artış sağladığı tespit edildi. Ölçümlerden kaynaklanan hata nedeniyle deneysel sonuçlardan elde edilen ITK değerinin, teorik sonuçlara göre biraz düşük olduğu gözlendi., In this study, two phase solar collector was used as a source for a heat pump (air-air) so that the heat pump was obtained which working (air+water-air) for cold climate conditions. Study is realized experimentally and theoretically. The input and output values of the systems was used for determination of mathematical model. Instantaneous solar radiation data were also taken from Konya Directorship of Meteorology Citation. The tests were realized in December, January and February months. R-11 and R-22 were used as working fluids in two phase solar collector and heat pump systems respectively. When the heat pump system (air+water-air) is compared with the conventional heat pump system (air-air), it is derived that the coefficient of performance of the air+water-air system is 24 % more efficient than the other.

Bu çalışmada, geniş bir kullanım alanı bulunan açık hücreli Alüminyum köpüğün ısı değiştiricisi olarak kullanımı amaçlandı. Çalışma teorik ve deneysel olarak gerçekleştirildi. Alüminyum köpük ısı değiştiricisinin ısı transfer modeli için üç boyutlu matematik model kuruldu. Üç boyutlu olarak elde edilen diferansiyel denklemin çözümü için sınır şartları yazıldı. Denklem ayrıklaştırılarak bilgisayar çözümü için kompakt form haline getirildi. Turbo Pascal 7.0 programı kullanılarak Gauss – Seidel İterasyon Yöntemi ile diferansiyel denklem çözüldü. θ-X, θ-Y ve θ-Z’in porozite ve birim hacimdeki yüzey alanına göre değişimlerinin grafikleri elde edildi. Deneysel çalışmada 200x200x100mm boyutlarında üç geçişli, her geçişte 6 boru bulunan ve saptırmalı olarak dizilen üç ayrı ısı değiştiricisi dizayn edildi. PPI 10, 20 ve 30 özelliklerine sahip ısı değiştiricilerin ısıl etkenliklerini karşılaştırmak için, toplam 500’ün üzerinde deney yapıldı, hesaplamalarda sadece 252’si dikkate alındı. Deney sonuçları SPSS 11 İstatistik Paket Programı yardımıyla Reynold sayısının 5.103, The aim of this study is to use the open cell aluminium foam as heat exchanger. The study has been achieved as theoritical and experimental. There are a wide application of Aluminium metal foam. Three dimensionals heat transfer model of the Aluminium metal foam heat exchanger have been done, and the boundary conditions of the differential equation obtained as three dimensional have been written. The differential equation has been discreted and written in compact form for computer solution. It has been solved by using Turbo Pascal 7.0 program, and the Gauss-Seidel method has been applied for solution. The variations of θ-X, θ-Y and θ-Z have been examined according to porosity and the surface area in unit volume. In experimental study, three different heat exchangers have been designed. Their dimensions are 200X200X100 mm and there are three passing, and six pipes in every passing The thermal efficiencies of heat exchangers having three different PPI, such as PPI 10, 20 and 30, have been compared with each other. Total experiment number are nearly 500. 252 experiments have been considered for calculations. The empirical equations for the heat transfer coefficient and the firiction factor have been found. SPSS 11 Statistic Package program has been used for calculations. The experiments have been done in interval 5.103

Bu çalışmada, pimli yüzeylerde doğal taşınım ile ısı transferi ışınım ile ısı transferinin etkileri de dikkate alınarak incelenmiştir. Plakalar pimler aşağıya ve yukarıya bakacak şekilde düşeye göre farklı açılar ile ayarlanmış ve deneyler her konum için farklı giriş güçlerinde tekrarlanmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlardan pimlerin ısı transferini önemli ölçüde arttırdığı ve yukarı bakan pimlerin aşağı bakan pimlere kıyasla daha fazla ısı transferi yaptığı belirlenmiştir. Düşeye göre açının arttırılması ise ısı transferini azaltıcı yönde etki yapmıştır., Natural convection heat transfer from a pin-finned surface is investigated experimentally by considering the effect of radiation heat transfer. The plate was oriented as the pin arrays facing either downwards or upwards from vertical axis with different angles and the experiments were performed for different values of power input. From the results of the experiments it is observed that the pin fins increase the heat transfer considerably when compared with the unfinned surface. The upfacing pins is more enhancing heat transfer than the down facing pins and the enhancement is decrearing with increaring orientation angle from the vertical axis.
