- Abstract
Healthy dietary habits have long been known as a modifiable lifestyle that might affect health. Intellectuals in Ancients Greece and Rome described the properties of many food groups and advised about how they should be used to provide well-being. Nowadays, adherence to healthy dietary habits is mentioned as a cornerstone in the prevention and management of many chronic conditions and, in the case of frailty, it is not different. In this chapter, we discuss many nutritional aspects that might be associated with the development of frailty in older adults, such as an inadequate ingestion of calories and nutrients and an insufficient combination of food groups. This knowledge might provide information to support clinical decisions of health professionals responsible for older adults’ care.
