4. Thermal-Hydraulic and Entropy Generation Optimization of Capsule-Type Plate Heat Exchangers With Spherical Dimples.

Abstract

The capsule-type plate heat exchanger (PHE) is a new type of equipment with great potential, which is characterized by the concave and convex capsule-like surface. In this article, new structures consisting of capsules and spherical dimples of PHE were proposed. Flow through a periodic unit cell with four different geometries is simulated numerically to characterize the pressure drop, heat transfer coefficients, and entropy generation rate. The numerical results show good consistency with the existing experimental data. Results show that the flow in capsule-type plate can be divided into recirculation zone and high-velocity zone. The staggered capsule structure and the spherical dimple shape generate more secondary and impinging flows, which provide higher Nusselt number and friction factor. The maximum Nusselt number area changed from the upwind region of capsule to the vicinity of dimple region because of the downwash effect and the fluid impact effect. The Nusselt number is enhanced by 19%–46%, and the friction factor is 1.21–2.9 times to that of the primary capsule-type plate. In addition, Entropy analysis illustrates that the maximum reduction in the dimensionless entropy generation rate is 43.6%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The investigation and study of deep sea ore is an important part of deep sea scientific research. In accordance with the requirements of the “Jiaolong” manned submersible deep ore sampling job, launched a design of portable deep cutting device which based on the “Jiaolong”. By analyzing the working characteristics and structural features of world underwater cutting work tool, design a mounted Jiaolong's new portable electric deep-sea Large depth cutter. The mechanical structure design of the cutting knife is finished, and through the Fluent software to simulate the cutting knife of the flow field and water resistance of the saw blade in the deep sea conditions, Study on the variation of water resistance and resistance moment of the blade under different sea depth and different speed. For the application of diamond circular saw blade in deep-sea mining and cutting knife mounted the “jiaolong” to complete deep-sea assignments has important practical significance.

Abstract

In this paper, on the basis of the existing hydrothermal sampling equipment has devised a new hydrothermal sampler. Using Ansys Workbench software to analyze the valve core and valve seat sealing, the valve core half cone Angle is obtained on the influence law of sealing performance. Cavity of hot fluid into the sampling moment of impact piston is analyzed, the analysis shows that the strength of the piston to meet requirements and the impact piston vibration does not affect the o-rings seal performance.

Abstract

The cracks on the carcass turn-up end of the 11.00R20 tire bead are common default, unstable crack growth can lead to tire failure. It accounts for a large part of tire damage. In this paper, based on multiscale finite element method, a sub-model with semicircle crack was created in tire bead, based on mechanics of fracture, the impact on the J- integral and tearing energy of the crack in the tire bead is obtained under different inflation pressure, based on tearing energy, the longevity of the tire which has the crack in the tire bead was calculated, the danger of excessive charge pressure to the tire life was concluded.
