Property Alliance Group commissioned Allen Archaeology Limited (AAL) to undertake a desk-based assessment on land at Cutmill Bridge, Eardiston, Worcestershire prior to submission of a planning application for a residential development. An archaeological evaluation by trial trenching on land at Cutmill Bridge, Eardiston, Worcestershire, within the desk-based assessment area was also requested as part of the requirement of an outline planning application for a residential development. The two interventions were done in conjunction to give a detailed historical background to assist the evaluation. The evaluation comprised four 10m × 1.8m trenches, sited in locations agreed to in the WSI, to gain maximum coverage of the proposed development The trial trenching exposed a thin topsoil sealing made ground containing modern waste. The remains of a buried topsoil were noted in Trench 1. The evidence suggests a negligible archaeological potential for the site.

The evaluation consisted of two 10m x 1.8m trenches Nothing found, no further action required.

The Jessop Consultancy commissioned Allen Archaeology Limited (AAL) to undertake an archaeological evaluation by trial trenching on land off Crompton Road, Asfordby Hill, Leicestershire, which was undertaken prior to determination of a planning application for a residential development. The evaluation trenching comprised thirteen 30m x 1.8m trenches, sited to gain maximum coverage of the proposed development, and based on the results of the preceding geophysics. One further trench was abandoned due to the presence of an overhead service. The trial trenching exposed a sequence of topsoil over natural throughout the site. Trench 1 exposed a deep sequence of modern made ground. The evidence suggests a negligible archaeological potential for the proposed development area.

Allen Archaeology Limited (AAL) was commissioned was commissioned by Mr and Mrs Patton. To undertake a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording during the groundworks for an extension to an existing building at 27 Canon Street, Winchester, Hampshire, required as a condition of planning consent. The monitored works entailed removal of the existing patio, exposing modern levelling layers only. The works were not deep enough to impact upon the fills of the city ditch.

Lincolnshire Estates Limited commissioned Allen Archaeology Limited to undertake an archaeological evaluation by trial trenching prior to submission of a planning application for a residential development on land off High Street, Wootton, North Lincolnshire. The evaluation trenching comprised 9no 30m x 1.8m trenches, sited to target anomalies indicated by the previous geophysical survey undertaken on the site. The trial trenching exposed an undated linear feature in Trenches 1 and 2, and another in Trench 3, both corresponding with geophysical anomalies. Other anomalies are likely to be the result of geological variation. The evidence suggests a negligible archaeological potential for the proposed development area.

R G Carter commissioned Allen Archaeology Limited (AAL) to undertake an archaeological evaluation by trial trenching prior to submission of a planning application for a residential development on land at 66 Jerusalem Road, Skellingthorpe, Lincolnshire. The evaluation trenching comprised one 30m long x 1.8m trench, three 20m long x 1.8m wide trenches and one 10m x 1.8m trench, sited to gain maximum coverage of the proposed development area. The trial trenching demonstrated that there were no archaeologically significant deposits or features within the proposed development area, and no finds were recovered. A recent land drain was observed in Trench 4.

Zetland Group, on behalf of Rathlin Energy (UK) Limited commissioned Allen Archaeology Limited to undertake an archaeological scheme of works on land at West Newton B Wellsite to the north of Crook Lane and the access road off Pasture Lane, West Newton, East Yorkshire, as a condition of planning consent for construction of a temporary wellsite and access road. The mitigation works were undertaken from 5th May to 29th June 2020 and entailed the monitoring of the topsoil strip in preparation for the installation of an access road running north from Pasture Lane and a strip, map and record in the footprint of the proposed wellsite. The stripping of the access road did not extend below topsoil, and as such no archaeological remains were exposed, other than a small amount of residual flint. Across the well site, a low density of archaeological remains were recorded, comprising two broad phases of activity. The first phase was represented by a broadly north - south aligned ditch containing pottery of possible late Iron Age to late Roman date, extending beyond the excavated area to the north and south. In the central part of the site was a small cluster of features, comprising stone filled pits, two urned and one unurned animal cremations, and a possible L-shaped structural gully. The animal cremations represent a ritual tradition most widely reported from the southeast of the country and as such represent a significant finding for the region. Later activity on the site was represented by medieval to post-medieval furrows, the remains of a former farm track and ditch, and a stone wall of 16th to 18th century date, potentially part of a former field barn.

BSA Design commissioned Allen Archaeology Limited to undertake a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording as a condition of planning consent for a residential development, on land off South Scarle Lane, North Scarle Lincolnshire The works revealed no archaeological features or deposits, the sequence comprised only topsoil over the natural geology.

Allen Archaeology Limited was commissioned by Mott MacDonald Bentley to undertake a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording during the excavation of Horizontal Direct Drilling (HDD) pits as part of a wider programme of works related to the construction and installation of Worthington Rising Main waste water main pipeline between the villages of Worthington and Osgathorpe in northwest Leicestershire, undertaken under permitted development rights. The works entailed the monitoring and recording of 30 machine excavated HDD pits along the length of the pipeline, through primarily agricultural land. Photographs were taken of each HDD pit and a representative section of the trench was drawn. The stratigraphic sequence throughout the site was fairly uniform, comprising topsoil overlying natural clays. No archaeologically significant finds, features or deposits were identified.
