Simple Summary: Bumblebees are well-suited pollinators of economic crops. This study evaluated the foraging behavior and pollination effects of Bombus terrestris on cherry tomatoes and pears in northern China. B. terrestris pollination can improve cultivation efficiency, increase yield, and produce more economic benefits, which indicates that it has great potential in pollination applications for cherry tomatoes and pears in northern China. Bumblebees (Bombus terrestris) have strong environmental adaptability and high pollen transfer efficiency, making them well-suited pollinators of economic crops. However, bumblebee pollination is still not widely applied in northern China due to the lack of data on foraging behavior and pollination effects. We conducted a three-year experiment involving cherry tomatoes (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and pears (Pyrus spp.) treated with bumblebee pollination to evaluate the foraging behavior and pollination effects on these two crops. Results showed that B. terrestris had enhanced foraging activities as daytime temperatures rose from 18 °C to 26 °C, as indicated by the increased number of bees leaving the hive and returning bees carrying pollen in greenhouses in winter. There were two peaks in the foraging activity of bumblebees in pear orchards in early spring, which was closely related to the temperature change in the daytime. Undoubtedly, cherry tomatoes treated with B. terrestris had higher fruit setting rate, weight, seed number, and fruit yields compared to those with hormone 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid treatments, as well as a lower rate of deformed fruits. B. terrestris pollination can significantly increase the fruit setting rate and fruit yield of pears, compared with open pollination, and can fully achieve the effect of hand pollination. B. terrestris pollination can improve cultivation efficiency, increase yield, and produce more economic benefits. Moreover, it can also contribute to reducing hormone residues and ensure the safety of agricultural products. We recommend its application to cherry tomatoes in greenhouses in winter and potential application to pears in orchards in early spring in northern China. However, the risk to local bumblebee species of introducing commercially available bumblebees into orchards should be considered and evaluated in future research. This study provides both empirical support and a theoretical basis for the selection of bumblebees as pollinators in the production of economically important crops and the improvement of crop cultivation management in northern China. Retinoblastoma (RB) is the most common childhood intraocular malignancy. In highincome countries over the past decade, upfront enucleation for unilateral RB is least favoured due to other alternatives that can help in globe preservation, but in low-middle income countries it is still the preferred option due to lack of resources and expertise. The treatment of RB after enucleation is tailored based on the histopathological risk features, as adjuvant chemotherapy with high-risk features reduces the risk of metastasis. The aim of our study was to analyse the survival outcomes of adjuvant therapy based on histopathological risk stratification in patients who underwent upfront enucleation for unilateral RB with advanced disease. A retrospective study was carried out at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Pakistan. A total 113 patients (aged 3 months till 16 years) diagnosed with unilateral RB who had upfront enucleation from July 2009 till January 2019 were included in this study. The mean age of diagnosis was 37.4 months (±24.5) and male-to-female ratio of 1.3:1. The most common clinical presentation was leukocoria (74.3%). Patients who underwent enucleation had advanced disease; group D present in 62.8% followed by group E (32.7%). Histopathology revealed high-risk features in 29 patients (25.7%) and intermediate risk in 54 patients (47.8%). Disease progression and relapse was seen in patients with high-risk histopathological features. The 4-year over-all survival and EFS observed for this cohort was 74% and 71%. Awareness about the early symptoms among the general population and health care personnel at a nationwide level is needed to facilitate early detection and lessen disease related morbidity and mortality. Topics include statistical inference being the process of making inferences about populations using data from samples; and availability of alternative methods of statistical inference and promotion of the methods in statistical, medical, and physiotherapy journals.

Objective: To assess the utility of four immunohistochemical stains in the categorization of hepatoblastoma. Study Design: Retrospective longitudinal study. Place and Duration of Study: Histopathology Department, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, Peshawar Pakistan, from 2016 to 2018. Methodology: We retrospectively reviewed 50 cases of hepatoblastoma from 2016-2018, from our hospital database and studied the pattern of four immunohistochemical stains (Beta-catenin, Glutamine synthetase, Heppar 1 and Cyclin D1) in various subtypes. Results: Ten out of fifty cases were mixed epithelial and mesenchymal hepatoblastomas, and forty were pure epithelial. In the pure epithelial category, the fetal subtype showed Heppar 1 and Cyclin D1 positivity in twenty-eight cases, while Glutamine synthetase and Beta-catenin were positive in all the thirty cases. One case of embryonal subtype displayed negativity for Heppar 1; the rest of the immunohistochemical stains were positive. Ten tumours exhibiting mixed epithelial and mesenchymal morphology showed positivity for all the four immunohistochemical stains in the epithelial component. However, Heppar 1 and cyclin D1 were negative in the mesenchymal component in all the ten cases. Five cases (50%) showed Glutamine synthetase and Beta-catenin positivity in the mesenchymal component. Conclusion: All the four immunohistochemical stains, especially Beta-catenin and Glutamine synthetase, were efficient diagnostic tool, especially for tumours with complex or vague morphological features. Background: Traditional systemic treatments for unresectable, recurrent, and/or advanced sebaceous carcinoma (SC) are ineffective. Tumoral immune microenvironment characterization is essential for considering immune checkpoint inhibitors as a treatment option. Methods: A total of 173 resected SCs were reviewed. Clinical information, lesion size, and location were collected. Microscopic examination documented histopathologic features and expression of immunohistochemical markers PD-L1 and CD8. PD-L1 percentage was assessed amongst tumor (PD-L1 + Tu) and immune infiltrating cells (PD-L1 + Inf). Each case was attributed a combined positive score (CPS) following Head and Neck squamous cell carcinoma recommendations. PD-L1 expression was evaluated according to clinicopathologic parameters. Human Papilloma Virus presence (HPV) was analyzed using PCR microarray scanning. Results: A therapeutically relevant CPS was seen in 51.4% of cases. Higher PD-L1 + Tu, PD-L1 + Inf, and CPSs were positively associated with greater lesion size and an extraocular location. No association was seen with patient age or gender. 9.2% of SCs showed PD-L1 + Tu ≥ 1, while 52.0% showed PD-L1 + Inf ≥ 1. A higher CD8 + T-lymphocyte density was significantly associated with a higher CPS, PD-L1 + Tu, and PD-L1 + Inf. Tumor-associated T-cell infiltrate's density was higher along tumor periphery. HPV-16, HPV-43, HPV-52, and HPV-66 were detected in 8.4% of SCs. There was no significant association between HPV status, PD-L1 expression, and CPS. A significant number of SCs express PD-L1 at therapeutic levels. Nevertheless, PD-L1 expression shows a higher intertumoral heterogeneity, in extraocular than in biologically distinct periocular cases. Conclusion: Our data support the need for large-scale prospective studies evaluating anti-PD-L1 immunotherapy mainly in extraocular SC treatment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In traditional row and strip cowpea-sorghum intercropping systems, cowpea forage yield reduces significantly due to intense competition and dominance of sorghum in acquiring growth resources. This field study evaluated novel mixed strip intercropping systems of forage cowpea and sorghum having different number of crops rows arranged under different spatial arrangements. Cowpea was intercropped with sorghum in 8, 12 and 16 rows strips with row-row spacing of 30, 45 and 60 cm. In each strip, equal number of rows of cowpea and sorghum were maintained. Factorial arrangement of randomized complete block design with three replicates was used to execute the field trials during summer seasons of 2013 and 2014. Strips having 12 rows and 60 cm rowrow spacing positively affected all agronomic variables of cowpea which led to maximum forage yield (22.2 and 23.7 t ha-1 during 2013 and 2014 respectively) and dry matter biomass (6.63 and 6.94 t ha-1 during 2013 and 2014 respectively). In contrast, 8-rows strips having line spacing of 30 cm outperformed other intercropping systems by yielding the maximum herbage yield and dry matter biomass of sorghum. The intercropping system comprising of 12-rows strips with 60 cm row-row spacing remained superior in recording the maximum crude protein, fats and total ash along with the minimum fiber content of cowpea. In addition, this intercropping system under rest of spatial arrangements also remained unmatched, while 16-rows strips under all planting geometries remained inferior to other intercropping systems. Thus, cowpea intercropping with sorghum in 12-rows strips having 60 cm spacing offers biologically viable solution to improve biomass and forage quality of cowpea in intercropping with sorghum. Myeloma cast nephropathy is an obstructing disorder of renal tubules, caused by precipitation of Bence Jones proteins. Myeloma-like cast nephropathy (MLCN) has been reported in the literature to occur in various primary renal and nonrenal diseases. We present a series of three rare cases of cast nephropathy, two of which are HIV patients, and the third patient is receiving cisplatin-based chemotherapy. However, in all three patients plasma cell dyscrasia has been ruled out. A 30-year-old male was admitted to the hospital with facial cellulitis. The second patient is a 31-year-old male who presented with Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia. The third patient was treated with cisplatin-based chemotherapy for carcinoma. First two cases revealed foci of diffuse tubular dilatation containing hyaline casts and interstitial inflammatory infiltrate, in addition to globally sclerotic glomeruli with ultrastructural foot process fusion and mesangium expansion. The third case showed acute tubular injury and cast formation of irregular casts composed of amorphous or granular material of low density admixed with scattered high electron-dense globules. Myeloma-like cast nephropathy and true myeloma cast nephropathy pose similar destructive effects on renal parenchyma. This new pattern of HIV-related nephropathy should be considered in HIV patients with MLCN, once monoclonal gammopathy is ruled out. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bumblebees, more efficient than honeybees, provide important services for pollination especially in tomato, pepper, cucumber, strawberries and other crops grown under tunnel farming or glasshouse conditions to yield maximization. These bees require pollen and nectar to meet their dietary needs and maintain their colony structure, development and reproduction. Keeping in view their economic importance, the effect of five concentrations of sugar and honey solutions (1:1, 1:1.5, 1:2, 2:1,1.5:1) each as alternative to nectar were used to observe their effect on life history parameters of Bombus terrestris . The 1:1 ratio of sugar solution was found most effective followed by 1.5:1, 1:1.5, 1:2 and 2:1 and also more effective of all five concentrations of honey solutions on all three stages of colony development i.e., at colony initiation, colony development and colony maturation stages. At colony initiation stage, early pre-oviposition period (6.40± 0.97 days), early emergence of first worker in the first batch (25.40±1.21 days) and maximum numbers of workers (6.20±0.24) emergence in the first batch were observed at 1:1 ratio of sugar solution. Colonies reared on 1:1 ratio of sugar solution reached earlier (52.13±1.28 days) at colony foundation stage with minimum mortality (3.27±0.54 workers). At colony maturation stage, maximum numbers of workers, sexual (males, queens) and maximum mother queen longevity was observed at the same 1:1 ratio of sugar solution. It can be suggested from present study that sugar solution as alternative of nectar at 1:1 ratio was better than other sugar concentration levels and also from those of honey solution. The article presents the recommendations from the "International Society of Physiotherapy Journal" on the use of statistical inference through estimation.

The author reflects on the clinical trial registration. He discusses several advantages of a prospective registration and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) endorsed clinical trial registration. He states that Physical Therapy has implemented a policy of mandatory prospective clinical trial registration and advices educators, clinicians, and administrators of clinical trials to ensure that clinical trial registration achieves its benefits.

The article discusses the recent recommendations by the International Society of Physiotherapy Journal Editors with respect to clinical trial registration in physical therapy journals, for placing the protocol for a clinical trial on a free, publicly available and electronically searchable register. The advantages of registration include tackling the main problems of selective reporting and publication bias. It also suggests that the procedure to be followed for trial registration is included.
