The Bulletin of the National Library of South Africa's latest issue is described as eclectic, featuring a variety of articles and topics. The issue includes a photographic survey of the impact of ox wagons on urban planning in South Africa, as well as a look at the sketches and paintings of William John Burchell during his journey from the Kalahari to Cape Town. The issue also highlights the political path of the Schermbrucker descendants, the Mfengu/Xhosa rivalry in the Cape Colony, insect societies and their relation to human groupings, the art and philosophy of Jennifer Mary Ord, the impact of a taxi strike on black women in Cape Town, and the establishment of Bantu Affairs Administration Boards during apartheid. The issue concludes with book reviews. [Extracted from the article]
