A novel three-dimensional molybdate with mixed ligiands, [{Cu(super II)(2,2' -bpy)}{Cu(super II)(IN)2}{Mo4O12(OH)2}] (IN- = isonicotinate ion, 2,2' -bpy = 2,2' -bipyridine), has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. It reveals that the title compound consist of an unprecedented tetramolybdate cluster linked via two types of copper fragments into a three-dimensional framework.

Abstract: A series of novel ordered BaWO4 (bundle-like, brush-like) and BaMoO4 (spindle arrays, bundle-like, brush-like) nanostructures were synthesized in reverse micelles with a solvothermal method; different shape can be obtained easily by changing the ratio of water to surfactant and temperature. Abstract: SnO2 nanoparticles have been synthesized by poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG)-mediated hydrothermal method. This is a convenient route to large-scale synthesis of SnO2 nanoparticles with average diameters up to about 50 nm. X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, UV–vis absorption and Fourier transform infrared spectrum were used to characterize the as-prepared SnO2 nanoparticles. An interesting metal–organic coordination polymer {[Zn3(C2O4)3(4,4′-bipy)4]}n 1 has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectrum, TG analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P2(1)/c, a=16.264(3) A˚, b=15.603(3) A˚, c=16.343(3) A˚, β=94.13(3)°, V=4136.5(14) A˚3, Z=4, R1=0.0554, wR2=0.1217. Compound 1 exhibits a 2D network, which consists of infinite zinc (II) oxalate chains connected to each other by a half of 4,4′-bipy acting as bridging ligands, while the other half of 4,4′-bipy just does as terminal ones. A novel metal–organic compound Zn2(btec)(pipz)(H2O) (1) (btec=1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylate, pipz=piperazine ) has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectrum, TG analysis, luminescent spectrum and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The title compound exhibits a novel three-dimensional network, which consists of two-dimensional wave-like sheets linked by zinc metal centers and piperazine. Compound 1 provides the first coordination network structure constructed together by bridging piperazine and btec mixed ligand. An unprecedented hybrid vanadate, {MnII(2,2′-bpy)}[{VVO2(2,2′-bpy)}(VVO3)(VV2O6)], has been hydrothermally synthesized from the reaction of V2O5, 2,2′-bipyridine, and MnCl2. It has been characterized by IR, XPS, TGA and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The structure of the title compound is constructed from left-handed and right-handed V–O helical chains linked through modified binuclear {Mn(2,2′-bpy)VVO4(2,2′-bpy)} moieties into a double helical structure. A novel organic–inorganic hybrid arsenic vanadate [Cu(2,2′-bpy)](VO2)(AsO4) 1 (2,2′-bpy=2,2′-bipyridine) has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analyses, XPS spectra, TG analysis, IR spectrum and the single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in triclinic system, space group P1¯, a=5.6848(11) A˚, b=10.275(2) A˚, c=11.807(2) A˚, α=73.70(3)°, β=80.48(3)°, γ=86.09(3)°, V=652.6(2) A˚3, Z=2, λ(Mo Kα)=0.71073 A˚, (R(F)=0.0337 for 2932 reflections). The title compound contains two arsenic vanadate chains linked through [Cu(2,2′-bpy)]2+ complexes. A novel organic–inorganic hybrid vanadium arsenate [(VO)2(HAsO4)2(phen)2] 1 (phen=phenanthroline) has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. The title compound contains an unusual 1D ladder-like {V/As/O} chain with the phen ligand directly coordinated to the vanadium arsenate skeleton. To the best of our knowledge, 1 represents the first example of 1D vanadium arsenate decorated with the directly coordinated organic ligands. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
