The innovative combination of additive manufacturing (AM) and continuous fiber‐reinforced polymer composites (CFRPCs) confers products with the dual advantages of integrated manufacturing and designability of properties, but lack an efficient and reliable method for property prediction. This study presents a materials informatics framework using reduced‐order models and machine learning (ML) to extract the structure–property (SP) linkages between microstructures and macroscopic elastic properties of AM‐CFRPCs. The initial step involves generating microstructural 2D cross‐sections and representative volume elements (RVEs) with random fiber and pore distributions based on the minimum potential method. Then, finite element (FE) calculations are performed on RVEs to obtain nine macroscopic elastic properties. Following that, the quantification and dimensionality reduction of the 2D cross‐sectional dataset are conducted separately using two‐point spatial correlations and principal component analysis (PCA). Finally, a Bayesian optimized composite kernel support vector regression (CK‐SVR) algorithm is used to effectively establish complex mapping relationships between the reduced‐order representations of the microstructures and the mechanical properties. Despite the reduced‐order dataset containing only 3–6 variables, the framework generates an interpretable model exhibiting excellent accuracy with all predicted R2 values surpassing 0.91. Therefore, this framework presents a prospective solution for expediting the design and optimization of AM‐CFRPCs. Background: The contribution of genetic variants to congenital heart defects (CHDs) has been investigated in many postnatal cohorts but described in few prenatal fetus cohorts. Overall, specific genetic variants especially copy number variants (CNVs) leading to CHDs are somewhat diverse among different prenatal cohort studies. In this study, a total of 1118 fetuses with confirmed CHDs were recruited from three units over a 5-year period, composing 961 of singleton pregnancies and 157 of twin pregnancies. We performed chromosomal microarray analysis on all cases to detect numerical chromosomal abnormalities (NCAs) and pathogenic/likely pathogenic CNVs (P/LP CNVs) and employed whole-exome sequencing for some cases without NCAs and P/LP CNVs to detect P/LP sequence variants (P/LP SVs). Results: Overall, NCAs and P/LP CNVs were identified in 17.6% (197/1118) of cases, with NCA accounting for 9.1% (102/1118) and P/LP CNV for 8.5% (95/1118). Nonisolated CHDs showed a significantly higher frequency of NCA than isolated CHD (27.3% vs. 4.4%, p < 0.001), but there was no significant difference in the frequency of P/LP CNVs between isolated and nonisolated CHD (11.7% vs. 7.7%). A total of 109 P/LP CNVs were identified in 95 fetuses, consisting of 97 (89.0%) de novo, 6 (5.5%) parental inherited and 6 (5.5%) with unavailable parental information. The 16p11.2 proximal BP4-BP5 deletion was detected in 0.9% (10/1118) of all cases, second only to the most common 22q11.21 proximal A-D deletion (2.1%, 23/1118). Most of the 16p11.2 deletions (8/10) detected were de novo, and were enriched in CHD cases compared with a control cohort from a previous study. Additionally, SV was identified in 12.9% (8/62) of cases without NCA and P/LP CNV, most of which were de novo with autosomal dominant inheritance. Conclusions: Our cohort study provides a deep profile of the contribution of genetic variants to CHDs in both singleton and twin fetuses; NCA and P/LP CNV contribute to 9.1% and 8.5% of CHD in fetuses, respectively. We confirmed the 16p11.2 deletion as a CHD-associated hotspot CNV, second only to the 22q11.21 deletion in frequency. Most 16p11.2 deletions detected were de novo. Acute kidney injury (AKI) occurred in 12.8% of patients undergoing surgery and is associated with increased mortality. Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a well-known risk for death and cardiovascular disease (CVD). Effects of AKI and CKD on patients undergoing coronary angiography (CAG) remain incompletely defined. The aim of our study was to investigate the relationship between acute and CKD and mortality in patients undergoing CAG. The cohort study included 49,194 patients in the multicenter cohort from January 2007 to December 2018. Cox regression analyses and Fine-Gray proportional subdistribution risk regression analysis are used to examine the association between kidney disease and all-cause and cardiovascular mortality. In the present study, 13,989 (28.4%) patients had kidney disease. During follow-up, 6144 patients died, of which 4508 (73.4%) were due to CVD. AKI without CKD (HR: 1.54, 95% CI: 1.36–1.74), CKD without AKI (HR: 2.02, 95% CI: 1.88–2.17), AKI with CKD (HR: 3.26, 95% CI: 2.90–3.66), and end-stage kidney disease (ESKD; HR: 5.63, 95% CI: 4.40–7.20) were significantly associated with all-cause mortality. Adjusted HR (95% CIs) for cardiovascular mortality was significantly elevated among patients with AKI without CKD (1.78 [1.54–2.06]), CKD without AKI (2.28 [2.09–2.49]), AKI with CKD (3.99 [3.47–4.59]), and ESKD (6.46 [4.93–8.46]). In conclusion, this study shows that acute or CKD is present in up to one-third of patients undergoing CAG and is associated with a substantially increased mortality. These findings highlight the importance of perioperative management of kidney function, especially in patients with CKD. What is already known on this subject? Background: The associations of vitamin C intake with colorectal cancer (CRC) survival according to tumour KRAS or BRAF mutation status remain unclear. Methods: We used the inverse probability weighted multivariable Cox proportional hazards regression model to calculate the hazard ratio (HR) of mortality, and spline analysis to evaluate the dose–response relationship in the Nurses' Health Study and Health Professionals Follow-up Study. We also assessed SLC2A1 mRNA expression according to KRAS or BRAF mutation in the TCGA database. Results: During an average of 12.0 years of follow-up, we documented 2,096 CRC cases, of which 703 cases had KRAS and BRAF mutation data. The association between total vitamin C intake and CRC-specific mortality suggestively differed according to KRAS or BRAF mutation status (Pinteraction = 0.04), with the multivariable HR (95% CI) per 400 mg/day increase in vitamin C intake for CRC-specific mortality of 1.07 (0.87–1.32, Ptrend = 0.52) in cases with both wild type and 0.74 (0.55–1.00, Ptrend < 0.05) in cases with either KRAS or BRAF mutant type. TCGA analysis showed a higher mRNA SLC2A1 expression in KRAS or BRAF-mutated tumours than in wild-type tumours (P = 0.02). Background: Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from various cell sources exert cardioprotective effects during cardiac ischemic injury. Our previous study confirmed that EVs derived from ischemic-reperfusion injured heart tissue aggravated cardiac inflammation and dysfunction. However, the role of EVs derived from normal cardiac tissue in myocardial ischemic injury remains elusive. Results: In the present study, normal heart-derived EVs (cEVs) and kidney-derived EVs (nEVs) were isolated and intramyocardially injected into mice after myocardial infarction (MI). We demonstrated that administration of both cEVs and nEVs significantly improved cardiac function, reduced the scar size, and alleviated inflammatory infiltration into the heart. In addition, cardiomyocyte apoptosis was inhibited, whereas angiogenesis was enhanced in the hearts receiving cEVs or nEVs treatment. Moreover, intramyocardial injection of cEVs displayed much better cardiac protective efficacy than nEVs in murine MI models. RNA-seq and protein-protein interaction (PPI) network analysis revealed the protective mRNA clusters in both cEVs and nEVs. These mRNAs were involved in multiple signaling pathways, which may synergistically orchestrate to prevent the heart from further damage post MI. Conclusions: Collectively, our results indicated that EVs derived from normal heart tissue may represent a promising strategy for cardiac protection in ischemic heart diseases. Organic phase change materials (PCMs) have received increasing attention for their applications in the fields such as solar energy storage and thermal management. Low thermal conductivity is a major key issue that hinders their practical applications. It has become a research hotspot to investigate the three-dimensional (3D) network method to improve the thermal performance of organic PCMs compared with the traditional blending method. Thermally conductive fillers form a 3D network in the resin matrix, which can enrich the thermal conductive pathway and effectively enhance the thermal conductivity. This paper mainly summarizes the research progress, preparation methods and influencing factors of composite PCMs, focusing on the methods of constructing 3D thermal conductivity network. Ecotourism potential is a fundamental research effort needed to promote sustainable regional tourism development, and scholars have paid greater attention to it in recent years, which has led to an increase in the publication of literature on this important and widely recognized topic. However, there is still no clear picture of the development direction of research on ecotourism potential. To address this issue, this study attempts to provide a comprehensive analysis of the existing research state in this field. This paper presents a more detailed review of ecotourism potential, a bibliometric analysis of 949 articles selected from 1,027 publications retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database, and a systematic descriptive and network analysis of the bibliometric data using the Biblioshiny tool. Here are some interesting findings: (1) research on the ecotourism potential in the academy started in 1992, with a rapid growth in the number of publications after 2013, with an overall interdisciplinary character and the emergence of a research community represented by Milcu, Balmford, Gallagher, and others; (2) ecotourism, conservation, tourism, management, and biodiversity are high-frequency keywords in this field, revealing the main research directions; (3) the development and evolution of research focus are mainly on three aspects: wildlife and biodiversity conservation, nature-based tourism and environmental values, and the modes and contributions of community participation. Future research should focus on the scientific references of ecotourism potential for promoting regional sustainable development. This paper sheds some light on the comprehensive bibliometric studies on ecotourism potential and improves our understanding of the evolution of this academic discourse theme over the last three decades. Purpose: Serum-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) have been reported to play an important role in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The current study sought to explore the effect of serum-EVs delivering m6A methylation regulator heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein C (HNRNPC) on the development of NSCLC through the regulation of discs large-associated protein 5 (DLGAP5). Methods: NSCLC-related RNA-Seq and clinical data were first obtained from the TCGA database to screen differentially expressed m6A-related regulators, which were intersected with the differential genes in NSCLC-related microarray GSE43458 obtained from the GEO database for survival analysis and clinical correlation analysis. Correlation between HNRNPC and DLGAP5 expression was evaluated. Serum-EVs were isolated and identified, and the uptake of EVs by A549 cells was visualized using fluorescence microscopy. In vivo xenograft tumor models and tumor metastasis models were constructed in nude mice to observe growth and metastasis of NSCLC cells. Results: HNRNPC was associated with poor prognosis and metastasis of NSCLC, and further implicated in the regulation of DNA replication and cell cycle-related pathways. HNRNPC might promote the growth and metastasis of NSCLC by identifying m6A modification of DLGAP5 mRNA. Serum-EVs delivered HNRNPC to NSCLC cells in vitro. In vivo experimentation further confirmed that serum-EVs could deliver HNRNPC to promote the growth and metastasis of NSCLC cells in nude mice. Conclusions: Our findings highlight that serum-EVs can deliver HNRNPC to NSCLC cells, wherein HNRNPC recognizes the m6A modification of DLGAP5 mRNA, thus ultimately promoting NSCLC growth and metastasis. Impaired skin wound healing is a common complication of diabetes mellitus. Angiogenesis is a critical step in wound healing because it allows oxygen and nutrients to reach the injured area, thereby promoting wound cell proliferation, re-epithelialization, and collagen regeneration. However, the neovascularization of patients with diabetes often decreases. Dihydroartemisinin is an active metabolic product of artemisinin, and it is antimalarial medicine with low toxicity to human beings. This study investigated the effects of topical Dihydroartemisinin on diabetic wound healing. We used a mouse model of the dorsal skin defect in diabetes caused by streptozotocin (STZ) and topically applied Dihydroartemisinin to full-thickness cutaneous wound. Under an advanced positive microscope, the pathological morphology of the wound skin was observed, together with the positive expression of platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule-1 (CD31) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). Western blotting and qRT-PCR were used to determine protein and mRNA levels in the wound skin. We found that Dihydroartemisinin improve the healing of wounds in diabetic mice as compared with the untreated control group. In addition, Dihydroartemisinin increases the expression of CD31 and VEGF in diabetic mice. Therefore, Dihydroartemisinin effectively accelerate the process of diabetic wound healing by promoting angiogenesis, implying that Dihydroartemisinin may be used as a topical drug for the treatment of diabetic wounds. Background: Optical genome mapping (OGM) has developed into a highly promising method for detecting structural variants (SVs) in human genomes. Complex chromosomal rearrangements (CCRs) and cryptic translocations are rare events that are considered difficult to detect by routine cytogenetic methods. In this study, OGM was applied to delineate the precise chromosomal rearrangements in three cases with uncertain or unconfirmed CCRs detected by conventional karyotyping and one case with a cryptic translocation suggested by fetal chromosomal microarray analysis (CMA). Results: In the three cases with CCRs, OGM not only confirmed or revised the original karyotyping results but also refined the precise chromosomal structures. In the case with a suspected translocation not detected by karyotyping, OGM efficiently identified the cryptic translocation and defined the genomic breakpoints with relatively high accuracy. Conclusions: Our study confirmed OGM as a robust alternative approach to karyotyping for the detection of chromosomal structural rearrangements, including CCRs and cryptic translocations. Cerebral infarction is a common disease characterized by high mortality, a narrow therapeutic window, and limited therapeutic options. Recently, cell therapy based on gene modification has brought a glimmer of hope to the treatment of cerebral infarction although the explicit underlying mechanism is beyond being well dissected. In the present study, we constructed an animal model of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO), compared differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between the sham and MCAO groups by single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to explore the potential cell death-related pathways involved in cerebral infarction, and transfected Manf into BMSCs by lentivirus. Subsequently, we injected BMSCs (bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells), Manf -modified BMSCs, or lentivirus encoding Manf into the brain. Their effects on MANF content, apoptosis, pyroptosis, infarct volume in the brain, and neurological function were evaluated after MCAO. We found that the DEGs upregulated in four major cell clusters after MCAO and were enriched with not only apoptosis, ferroptosis, and necroptosis but also with pyroptosis-related pathways. In addition, transfection of Manf into BMSCs significantly increased the expression and secretion of MANF in BMSCs; BMSCs, Manf -modified BMSCs, and Manf treatment all resulted in an increase in Manf content in the brain, a decrease in the expression of apoptosis- and pyroptosis-related molecules, a reduction in infarct volume, and an improvement in neurological function after MCAO. Moreover, Manf -modified BMSCs have the strongest therapeutic effect. Collectively, Manf -modified BMSCs ameliorate ischemic injury after cerebral infarction by repressing apoptosis- and pyroptosis-related molecules, which represents a new cell therapy strategy for cerebral infarction. Background: The triglyceride-glucose (TyG) index is a reliable alternative biomarker of insulin resistance (IR). However, whether the TyG index has prognostic value in critically ill patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) remains unclear. Methods: Participants from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care III (MIMIC-III) were grouped into quartiles according to the TyG index. The primary outcome was in-hospital all-cause mortality. Cox proportional hazards models were constructed to examine the association between TyG index and all-cause mortality in critically ill patients with CHD. A restricted cubic splines model was used to examine the associations between the TyG index and outcomes. Results: A total of 1,618 patients (65.14% men) were included. The hospital mortality and intensive care unit (ICU) mortality rate were 9.64% and 7.60%, respectively. Multivariable Cox proportional hazards analyses indicated that the TyG index was independently associated with an elevated risk of hospital mortality (HR, 1.71 [95% CI 1.25–2.33] P = 0.001) and ICU mortality (HR, 1.50 [95% CI 1.07–2.10] P = 0.019). The restricted cubic splines regression model revealed that the risk of hospital mortality and ICU mortality increased linearly with increasing TyG index (P for non-linearity = 0.467 and P for non-linearity = 0.764). Conclusions: The TyG index was a strong independent predictor of greater mortality in critically ill patients with CHD. Larger prospective studies are required to confirm these findings. Keloid, an aggressive fibroproliferative disease of the skin, is usually caused by infectious skin diseases, burns, and trauma. This study aimed to assess the effect of SPARC on the keloid pathogenesis. In normal skin and keloid scar tissues, changes in SPARC expression were analysed by qRT-PCR, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry. Keloid fibroblasts were isolated from human keloid tissue. GSEA was performed to investigate the signalling pathways related to SPARC. Cell Counting Kit-8, 5-Ethynyl-2′-deoxyuridine, transwell assay, and scratching assays were used to assess fibroblast proliferation and migration. Changes in α-SMA, fibronectin, collagen I, and collagen III levels were examined in fibroblasts by western blotting. SPARC expression was upregulated in keloid scar tissues. In fibroblasts, cell proliferation, migration, collagen production, and extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis were promoted by SPARC overexpression, whereas SPARC knockdown resulted a converse result. GSEA showed that SPARC regulates the p53 pathway. In keloid scar tissues, there was a negative correlation between SPARC and p53 expression. p53 expression was decreased by SPARC overexpression, whereas SPARC knockdown increased p53 expression. Furthermore, the effects of SPARC on the fibroblast phenotype were reversed by p53 overexpression. Fibroblast proliferation, migration, and ECM synthesis were promoted by SPARC overexpression, which was achieved by regulating the p53 pathway. A copper‐catalyzed oxidative carboamination of maleimides with alkyl amines and α‐bromo carboxylates is described. These multicomponent reactions show good functional group compatibility and are suitable for the late‐stage modification of a series of neuroprotective agents, providing a direct path for the library synthesis of 3‐carbo‐4‐amino maleimides. The initial copper‐catalyzed oxidative amination of maleimides with amines to form enamines intermediate, followed by copper‐catalyzed radical alkylation with α‐bromo carboxylate compounds, triggers a relayed catalytic reaction to achieve the carboamination process. Background: Despite many significant advances in treatment and management, cardiovascular disease remains the main cause of the global disease burden. Nutrition-related disease is a modifiable cardiovascular risk factor. However, few studies have examined the relationship between nutrition-related diseases and cardiovascular mortality.Objective: We aimed to investigate the association of nutrition-related diseases with cardiovascular mortality based on a large nationally representative community population.Design: We analyzed data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 1999-2006 with mortality follow-up through December 31, 2015. Finally, 12,469 participants were analyzed. Each participant was assigned to one of four groups: normal nutrition without sarcopenia, sarcopenia with normal nutrition, malnutrition without sarcopenia, and malnutrition-sarcopenia syndrome. Survival curves and Cox regressions based on the NHANES recommended weights were used to assess the association between nutrition-related diseases and cardiovascular mortality.Results: Of the 12,469 patients included in the study and divided into four groups, malnutrition-sarcopenia syndrome had the highest 5- and 10-year cardiovascular mortality rates. After adjustment for related factors, sarcopenia with normal nutrition (hazard ratio [HR]: 1.62, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.28-2.06; P < 0.001), malnutrition without sarcopenia (HR: 1.28, 95% CI:1.03-1.58; P = 0.024), and malnutrition-sarcopenia syndrome (HR: 2.66, 95% CI:1.89 - 3.74; P < 0.001) were significantly associated with increased risk of all-cause mortality. Malnutrition-sarcopenia syndrome remained associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular mortality (HR: 3.56, 95% CI: 1.17 - 10.84; P < 0.001).Conclusions: Malnutrition-sarcopenia syndrome was highly prevalent among community-dwelling adults in the United States and was a strong prognostic factor for cardiovascular mortality in the community setting. Randomized clinical trials are needed to demonstrate whether prevention or treatment of malnutrition-sarcopenia syndrome in community populations can reduce global cardiovascular mortality. Soy protein isolate (SPI)-based self-healing thermoset resins were prepared using either poly(DL-lactide-co-glycolide) porous microspheres (MSs) and spherical microcapsules (MCs) or elongated MCs containing a combination of ground bacterial cellulose (GBC) and SPI as the healing agent. Spray emulsification, combined with solvent evaporation technique, was used to prepare MCs and MSs. The technique resulted in two MC morphologies: one primarily consisting of a mixture of porous MSs and spherical MCs and the other consisting of elongated MCs with aspect ratios as high as 50, depending on the surfactant and GBC amount used. While porous MSs made the resin stronger, they did not contribute to self-healing since they could not retain the healant. Part of the GBC, added during MC preparation, got successfully encapsulated into MCs to form strong GBC/SPI composite healtant. Most of the remaining GBC stayed on MC surfaces and was seen to enhance the MC/resin interfacial adhesion which, in turn, contributed to increased self-healing efficiency. Overall results indicated that resins with 20 wt% elongated MCs exhibited self-healing efficiencies of about 45% in strength and 59% in toughness. The drop hammer low-velocity impact tests were conducted at 30 J, 50 J and 80 J energy for the intersection, rib, and center positions, respectively, and the impact resistance of the three positions was further compared with the impact data. The test results showed that the intersection and rib exhibited fiber fracture and delamination of CFRP face and grid, as well as foam crushing and cracking. The center position showed face perforation and foam crushing. At the same impact energy, the intersection position had the strongest impact resistance, with an initial stiffness about 18 % higher than that of the rib, and their peak load per unit mass was higher than that of CFRP-foam sandwich panels, and the center was the weakest. In addition, numerical simulations were performed which were in good agreement with the tests, and the damage processes at different stages were discussed. In this study, a novel design was introduced where hexagonal honeycomb cores were flattened in specific areas to form S-shaped reinforced cores. Compression tests were conducted on S-shaped reinforced honeycomb cores with different rotational structures – left-hand, right-hand, and mixed rotation. The deformation process of these cores was thoroughly investigated. Additionally, a theoretical prediction model was proposed to determine the Young's modulus and peak load of S-shaped reinforced honeycomb cores. The experimental data was compared with the theoretical model to validate its accuracy. Moreover, the study examined the effects of changing the relative density and cell wall angle of S-shaped reinforced honeycomb cores on the peak and specific peak loads. The results demonstrated that the use of S-shaped reinforced structures successfully altered the deformation mode of the honeycomb cores. In particular, the peak loads of S-LL and S-LR specimens were 29.14% and 86.12% higher than that of plain honeycomb, respectively. In summary, increasing the relative density of S-shaped reinforced honeycomb cores proved to enhance the peak load and specific peak load, thereby augmenting the design capabilities of these cores. The electrochemical performance of SIBs is determined not only by the structure of electrode materials, but it is also highly dependent on the matched electrolyte. In this review, the optimization, the matching strategies and the advanced characterization techniques of the electrolytes system for HCs and P‐based anodes are discussed based on the recent advance. The effective optimization strategies are summarized from three aspects: sodium salts, solvents, and additives. The challenges and perspectives are also discussed in this review. We were able to detect 2039 circRNAs in our patient samples, with 794 of 1245 these circRNAs being up- and downregulated in migraine patients relative to controls, respectively (fold change ≥ 1.5 , p < 0.01). Combining the complementary properties of honeycomb cores and grid cores, a composite sandwich panel with honeycomb–grid hybrid core was proposed to enhance the structural performance of composite sandwich panels. However, important gaps remain in calculating the structural performance of the composite sandwich panels. In this paper, an equivalent stiffness model was proposed to analytically estimate the stiffness matrix of composite sandwich panels with honeycomb–grid hybrid core. The reliability and accuracy of the equivalent stiffness model were verified by experimental measurements from three-point bending tests. Furthermore, the effects of face-sheet thickness, core height, grid spacing, rib width and material properties on structural stiffness were investigated for the design of sandwich structures with hybrid core. The parameter studies demonstrated that core height had the most significant influence on the specific bending stiffness, while grid spacing was most important for specific in-plane stiffness of sandwich panels with carbon-fiber grid. With the growth of economic globalization and international tourism, tourism outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) has become a significant phenomenon in the development of the tourism industry. This article aims to estimate how emigration affects OFDI in tourism. It develops the theoretical framework of the effects of emigration on tourism OFDI, including the outbound tourism effect, the economic effect, the cultural effect, and the social effect. The empirical evidence in China reveals a significant effect of Chinese emigration on China's tourism OFDI. However, this positive effect is found to decrease over time. This study also suggests that the level of development in the destination country, cultural distance, and geographical distance determine the size of this positive effect. Transition metal phosphides (TMPs) possess high theoretical sodium storage capacities, but suffer from poor rate performance, due to their intrinsic low conductivity and large volume expansion upon sodiation/desodiation. Compositing TMPs with carbon materials or downsizing their feature size are recognized as efficient approaches to address the above issues. Nevertheless the surface‐controlled capacitive behavior is generally dominated, which inevitably compromises the charge/discharge platform, and decreases the operational potential window in full‐cell constructions. In this work, a novel architecture (FeP@OCF) with FeP quantum dots confined in P‐doped 3D octahedral carbon framework/carbon nanotube is rationally designed. Such structure enables a simultaneous enhancement on the diffusion‐controlled capacity in the platform region (2.3 folds), and the surface‐controlled capacity in the slope region (2.9 folds) as compared to that of pure FeP. As a result, an excellent reversible capacity (674 mAh g−1@ 0.1 A g−1) and a record high‐rate performance (262 mAh g−1 @ 20 A g−1) are achieved. A full‐cell FeP@OCF// Na3V2(PO4)3 is also constructed showing an outstandingly high energy density of 185 Wh kg−1 (based on the total mass of active materials in both electrodes), which outperforms the state‐of‐the art TMP‐based sodium‐ion battery full cells. The effect of heating medium (with water and steam) and initial temperature of heating medium (cold and boiling) on the taste quality and sensory properties of Portunus trituberculatus was investigated. Nonvolatile taste active components in the meat and gonad of crabs cooked under four different methods were detected and compared. Sensory evaluation and electronic tongue assessment were also conducted. Sensory evaluation and electronic tongue indicated that taste quality was different under four cooking methods. The results showed that steaming cooking preserved more water‐soluble substances as compared with boiling cooking, especially cooking began with boiling water. It is noteworthy that the umami intensity in gonad cooked from boiling water was stronger, either steaming or boiling. The simulation of dust-bearing granular accumulation flow in the theoretical and practical aspects of the engineering field poses a significant challenge due to the massive computational requirements associated with cross-scale simulations. In this study, a novel approach is proposed to address this issue by developing a model that accounts for the impact of dust on granular flow through changes in the granule friction coefficient. Initially, the theoretical analysis was conducted to examine the effects of dust on granular flow. Subsequently, a method was developed to measure the equivalent friction coefficient of granules by combining theoretical analysis and experimental work. The proposed method was then employed to simulate the stability of a spherical granule pile in a drum influenced by dust content and compared against experimental results. The simulation results demonstrate agreement with the experimental results, indicating the feasibility of modeling the effect of dust on dust-bearing granular flow through the granule equivalent friction coefficient. The dust effect can be considered equivalent to a change in the granule friction coefficient, which facilitates the reduction of the computational load generated by the Discrete Element Method (DEM) method and enables cross-scale simulations. In this study, dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) cold plasma was explored for degrading aflatoxins in naturally contaminated rice. Rice samples were inoculated with strains of toxigenic Aspergillus and incubated to produce various levels of aflatoxins. Cold plasma showed degradation rates of aflatoxin B 1 (AFB 1) and total aflatoxins (AFs) that were related to moisture content, oxygen content, treatment time and voltage. Generally, the treatment reduced 1.08%–55.34% of AFB 1 and 4.23%–56.37% of AFs in rice under different conditions. Relative lower degradation rates can be due to low permeability of the plasma and interference from food matrix. In addition, no significant difference (P > 0.05) was found in moisture, protein, amylose and color of rice before and after treatment. However, cold plasma aggravated the fat oxidation of rice, and made its surface smoother and more porous. The results provided a theoretical basis for aflatoxins degradation from grain system using cold plasma. In this study, dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) cold plasma was applied in the degradation of aflatoxins in naturally contaminated rice, having obvious degradation effect and little quality impact. Cold plasma treatment, as a novel non-thermal processing technology, can reduce mycotoxins in food in order to fully ensure the product safety in various links, including production, storage and so on. Compared with other detoxification methods currently used in the industry, this technology can achieve similar or higher degradation effect in a shorter time. In the present study, honeycomb cores with periodic tight zones were proposed for carbon-fiber and aluminum-honeycomb sandwich panels by flattening hexagon-shaped cells of honeycomb walls. In-plane compression tests were performed for sandwich panels with three types of local-tight honeycomb cores to evaluate the effects of the local-tight configurations on mechanical properties and failure modes. Experimental results indicated that the mechanical properties of sandwich specimens were effectively increased by using the proposed local-tight honeycomb cores. In particular, the specific energy absorption of sandwich specimens with a local-orthogonal-tight core was increased by 400.46%. In addition, Digital Image Correlation (DIC) technique was employed to further investigate the compressive behaviors of the sandwich specimens with and without local-orthogonal-tight honeycomb cores. The experimental measurements and detailed DIC observations indicated that the local-orthogonal-tight honeycomb core sandwich structures, which provided improved load transferring paths and reduced mismatch between the high-stiffness face sheets and low-stiffness core, exhibited progressive crushing failure modes. In this study, compression properties of composite honeycomb sandwich panel and tube structures with S-shaped reinforced core was studied. The S-shaped reinforcements was machined from conventional honeycomb core. Quasi-static compression tests showed that the peak force and energy absorption of the proposed sandwich panels were enhanced by up to 85.28% and 31.41% respectively, in comparison to the carbon fiber/aluminum honeycomb sandwich panels. Based on the experimentally validated finite element model, the effects of number of S-shaped reinforcement structures, wall thickness and rotation direction were investigated for mechanical performance of the carbon fiber/aluminum honeycomb sandwich tubes under compression. Numerical results demonstrated that the S-shaped reinforcement structure could change the load transfer path effectively. The mechanical behavior and properties of the honeycomb core with S-shaped reinforcement were significantly influenced by changing the number and distribution of S-shaped reinforcements with different rotating directions. Grid structures have great potential for engineering application, inspired by the leaf texture, the rectangular grid is innovatively added to the honeycomb to form the grid-honeycomb hybrid core. The low-velocity impact response of the composite sandwich structure with grid–honeycomb hybrid core was investigated by experimental and numerical simulation. Low-velocity impact tests with 30 J energy were conducted of the sandwich panel to analyze the mechanical response and damage morphology at typical locations (intersection, rib, and center). The results show that the impact resistance at the intersection was the strongest, the peak load, damage threshold load, and initial stiffness at the intersection were 14.74%, 15.54%, and 16.06% higher, and the maximum displacement and residual displacement were 12.09% and 33.71% lower, respectively than those at the rib, and the center was the weakest. Compared with honeycomb sandwich panel, the impact resistance of unit mass at the intersection and rib was stronger and the internal damage was smaller. In addition, the parametric study of the structural parameters of sandwich panel was conducted. The grid thickness had a significant effect on the impact resistance, while the effects of honeycomb wall thickness and honeycomb unit cell diameter were smaller and had almost no effect on initial stiffness and energy absorption. This study aimed to develop a quenching-type electrochemiluminescence (ECL) immunosensor for human epidermal growth factor receptor (Her-2) detection. Firstly, Pd/NiFeOx nanoflowers decorated by in situ formation of gold nanoparticles (Au NPs) and 2D Ti3C2 MXene nanosheets were synthesized (AuPd/NiFeOx/Ti3C2) as carriers to load luminol and primary antibodies. Impressively, AuPd/NiFeOx/Ti3C2 with excellent peroxidase-like activity could accelerate the decomposition of the coreactant H2O2 generating more reactive oxygen species (ROSs) under the working potential from 0 to 0.8 V, resulting in highly efficient ECL emission at 435-nm wavelengths. The introduction of tungsten-based polyoxometalate nanoclusters (W-POM NCs) which exhibit remarkable ROSs-scavenging activity as secondary antibody labels could improve the sensitivity of immunosensors. The ZnO nanoflowers were employed to encapsulate minute-sized W-POM NCs, and polydopamine was self-polymerized on the surface of Zn(W-POM)O to anchor secondary antibodies. The mechanism of the quenching strategy was explored and it was found that W-POM NCs could consume ROSs by the redox reaction of W5+ resulting in W6+. The proposed ECL immunosensor displayed a wide linear response range of 0.1 pg·mL−1 to 50 ng·mL−1, and a low detection limit of 0.036 pg mL−1 (S/N = 3). The recoveries ranged from 93.9 to 99.4%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) was lower than 10%. This finding is promising for the design of detecting new protein biomarkers. Cassava (Manihot esculenta) is an important tropical subsistence crop that is severely affected by cassava brown streak disease (CBSD) in East Africa. The disease is caused by Cassava brown streak virus (CBSV) and Ugandan cassava brown streak virus (UCBSV). Both have a (+)-sense single-stranded RNA genome with a 5’ covalently-linked viral protein, which functionally resembles the cap structure of mRNA, binds to eukaryotic translation initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) or its analogues, and then enable the translation of viral genomic RNA in host cells. To characterize cassava eIF4Es and their potential role in CBSD tolerance and susceptibility, we cloned five eIF4E transcripts from cassava (accession TMS60444). Sequence analysis indicated that the cassava eIF4E family of proteins consisted of one eIF4E, two eIF(iso)4E, and two divergent copies of novel cap-binding proteins (nCBPs). Our data demonstrated experimentally the coding of these five genes as annotated in the published cassava genome and provided additional evidence for refined annotations. Illumina resequencing data of the five eIF4E genes were analyzed from 14 cassava lines tolerant or susceptible to CBSD. Abundant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) and biallelic variations were observed in the eIF4E genes; however, most of the SNPs were located in the introns and non-coding regions of the exons. Association studies of non-synonymous SNPs revealed no significant association between any SNP of the five eIF4E genes and the tolerance or susceptibility to CBSD. However, two SNPs in two genes were weakly associated with the CBSD responses but had no direct causal-effect relationship. SNPs in an intergenic region upstream of eIF4E_me showed a surprising strong association with CBSD responses. Digital expression profile analysis showed differential expression of different eIF4E genes but no significant difference in gene expression was found between susceptible and tolerant cassava accessions despite the association of the intergenic SNPs with CBSD responses. Dual specificity phosphatase 22 (DUSP22) regulates fibrosis and inflammation, which may be implicated in the development of diabetic nephropathy (DN). Hence, the current study aimed to assess the effect of DUSP22 on cell proliferation, apoptosis, fibrosis and inflammation in mouse mesangial cell line (SV40-MES13) under both high glucose (HG) and low glucose (LG) conditions. SV40-MES13 cells were treated with HG and LG, then HG-group cells were transfected with DUSP22 overexpression and control plasmids, meanwhile LG-group cells were transfected with DUSP22 and control siRNAs. Then, cell proliferation using Cell Counting Kit-8, cell apoptosis by TUNEL assay, protein expression using western blotting, inflammatory cytokines using ELISA and RNA using reverse transcription-quantitative PCR were determined. DUSP22 mRNA and protein were decreased in SV40-MES13 cells under the HG condition compared with those under the LG condition. Under the HG condition, DUSP22 overexpression suppressed SV40-MES13 cell proliferation at 48 and 72 h as well as Bcl2, but it facilitated TUNEL-reflected apoptotic rate and cleaved-caspase-3; besides, DUSP22 overexpression restrained proteins of fibronectin 1, collagen I, transforming growth factor beta 1, and their corresponding mRNAs. As to the inflammation, DUSP22 overexpression downregulated TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-12 under the HG condition. By contrast, DUSP22 siRNA promoted SV40-MES13 cell proliferation, fibrosis and inflammation, but attenuated apoptosis in SV40-MES13 cells under the LG condition. Additionally, DUSP22 overexpression inactivated phosphorylated (p)-ERK, p-JNK, and p-P38 in HG-treated SV40-MES13 cells; differently, DUSP22 small interfering RNA facilitated them under the LG condition. In the present work we demonstrated an ultrasensitive detection platform for specific DNA based on nonlinear hybridization chain reaction (HCR) by triggering chain-branching growth of DNA dendrimers. HCR was initiated by target DNA ( t DNA) and finally formed dendritic structure by self-assembly. The electrochemical signal was drastically enhanced by capturing multiple catalytic peroxidase with high-ordered growth. Electrochemical signals were obtained by measuring the reduction current of oxidized 3, 3′, 5, 5′-tetramethylbenzidine sulfate (TMB), which was generated by HRP in the presence of H 2 O 2 . This method exhibited ultrahigh sensitivity to t DNA with detection limit of 0.4 fM. In the present study, periodical grids were selected to reinforce soft honeycomb cores of sandwich structures. The grid reinforced honeycomb core can be considered as a combined core with multi-level lattice configuration. In-plane compression tests were carried out to investigate the mechanical properties of carbon fiber sandwich with combined core. Experimental results indicated that the combined core sandwich specimens provided increased stiffness, specific stiffness, energy absorption and critical load, which were higher than the sum of honeycomb core sandwich specimens and grid core sandwich specimens. In addition, a Finite Element Method (FEM) model was proposed to calculate the critical buckling load of the combined core sandwich structures. The effects of core heights, honeycomb-wall thickness and face-sheet thickness on the critical buckling loads of the combined core sandwich structures were examined. The aforementioned experimental and numerical results indicated that the present sandwich structure with grid reinforced honeycomb core could provide improved structural properties for engineering structures. Wearable ionization air cleaners are compact in size and marketed for personal respiratory protection by removing air pollutants from users' breathing zone. In this study, ozone emission and particle removal rates of four wearable ionization air cleaners (namely, AC1 through AC4) were evaluated inside a 0.46 m3stainless steel chamber. Continuous measurements were conducted for ozone concentration, PM2.5concentration, and particle size distribution in the size range of 18.1–289 nm. Two of the four wearable air cleaners (i.e., AC1 and AC2) had detectable ozone emissions. The 10-h average ozone emission rates were quite different (i.e., 0.67 mg·h−1for AC1 and 3.40 × 10−2mg·h−1for AC2); however, the ozone emissions were negligible for AC3 and AC4. The number removal rates for particles within the measured size range were highly variable (i.e., 2.20 h−1, 0.52 h−1, 8.10 h−1, and 27.9 h−1for AC1 through AC4, respectively). The corresponding mass removal rates of PM2.5were 1.85 h−1, 0.48 h−1,1.52 h−1, and 5.37 h−1, respectively. Regulatory guidelines are needed to assure these devices can effectively remove particles without ozone emissions to protect public health. Carbon-fiber epoxy composites were bonded to four different types of aluminum substrates with different surface roughness and finish. The four aluminum substrates considered in this study have the following surface conditions: two solid aluminum substrates polished with two different grades of sandpapers, and two porous aluminum foams with two different as-received surface conditions, one with a patterned surface finish and one with rough pore structures. Moreover, the thin epoxy adhesive joints between the carbon-fiber face sheets and aluminum substrates were reinforced by adding short aramid fibers. During the fabrication process of the hybrid laminar, sparsely-distributed short aramid fibers were inserted between the fiber-metal interface to promote bridged fibers for tougher and stronger adhesive bonding, while at the same time to minimize any significant change in the thickness of the adhesive joint. Measurements of the critical energy release rate showed that the toughening effects of the low-density short aramid fibers were influenced by the metal-substrate surface roughness and finish. Further comparison indicated that the interfacial fracture toughness of aramid-fiber interleave adhesive joints increased via increase of surface roughness of metal substrates. The surface-roughness effect of metal substrate mainly depends on whether the free fiber ends of the short aramid fibers were pressed and embedded into the surface cavities of aluminum substrates according to scanning electron microscopy observations. The results indicated that the properties and performances of aramid-fiber interleaved adhesive joints between the carbon-fiber face sheets and aluminum substrates could be improved by surface treatments on the aluminum substrates to achieve appropriately surface roughness. Lightweight carbon fiber/carbon composites (CFC) are widely used in solar silicon furnace, semiconductor long crystal furnace and other high-temperature equipment due to its superior low thermal conductivity, low expansion coefficient, high purity, good mechanical properties, and high temperature resistance. In this paper, the lightweight chopped CFC was prepared by the method of liquid phase dispersion of chopped carbon fibers-vacuum filtration-curing molding-high temperature carbonization and graphitization. The thermal conductivity of lightweight chopped CFC with different densities (0.12, 0.16 and 0.18 g/cm3) was studied, and the thermal conductivity of lightweight chopped CFC at high temperature was also studied. The results show that the thermal conductivity (1000 °C) of the chopped CFC gradually increases with the increasing density from 0.179 W/(mK) (0.12 g/cm3) to 0.190 W/(mK) (0.16 g/cm3), 0.282 W/(mK) (0.18 g/cm3), indicating that with the increasing density, the thermal conduction path of the carbon fiber increases, the thermal conductivity of the CFC material increases, and then the thermal insulation performance decreases. In addition, with the increasing temperature, the phonon vibration increases, the thermal conductivity of the CFC material also increases, and then the thermal insulation performance decreases. Due to their low vapor pressure, semi-volatile organic compounds (SVOCs) can absorb onto other compartments in indoor environments, including settled dust. Incidental ingestion of settled dust-bound SVOCs contributes to the majority of daily non-dietary exposure to some SVOCs by human beings. With this pathway in mind, an integrated kinetic model to estimate indoor SVOC was developed to better predict the mass-fraction of SVOC associated with settled dust, which is important to accurately assess the non-dietary ingestion exposure to SVOC. In this integrated kinetic model, the aerosol dynamics were considered, including particle penetration, deposition and resuspension. The newly developed model was evaluated by comparing the predicted mass-fraction of SVOC associated with the settled dust ( X dust ) and the measured X dust from previous studies. Sixty X dust values of thirty-eight different SVOCs measured in residences located in seven countries from four continents were involved in the model evaluation. The X dust value predicted by the integrated kinetic model correlated linearly with the measured X dust : y = 0.93x + 0.09 ( R 2 = 0.73), which indicates that the predicted X dust by the integrated kinetic model are in good match with the measured data. Short aramid fibers have been successfully used to reinforce the interface adhesive property between carbon fiber/epoxy composites and aluminum foam, and to form aramid-fiber 'composite adhesive joints.' In this study, to further improve the reinforcing effect of the aramid-fiber-reinforced adhesive joints, aramid fibers were ultrasonic treated to conduct different surface conditions. Critical energy release rate of the carbon fiber/aluminum foam sandwich beams with as-received and treated interfacial aramid fibers were measured to study the influence of the surface treatment on aramid fibers. It was found that reinforcements in critical energy release rate were achieved for all samples with treated aramid fiber as measured under double cantilever beam condition. The interfacial characteristics of the short aramid fibers with different surface condition were investigated and discussed based on scanning electron microscopy observations. It is suggested that advanced bonding between aramid fibers and epoxy resin was conducted after surface treatment, and more energy was therefore absorbed through fiber bridging during crack opening and extension process. The full potential of carbon-fiber and aluminum-honeycomb sandwich panels and structures has been limited by the huge property mismatch between the high-stiffness carbon fiber and low-stiffness aluminum honeycomb. In this study, an orthogrid structure was added into the sandwich structure to raise the stiffness of soft honeycomb and therefore reduce the interfacial mismatch. The core then became an aluminum orthogrid structure filled with aluminum-honeycomb blocks. Three point bending tests were conducted to compare carbon fiber sandwiches with different types of core: (1) aluminum-honeycomb core; (2) aluminum-plate orthogrid core; and (3) aluminum-plate orthogrid core filled by aluminum-honeycomb blocks. The honeycomb filled orthogrid core sandwich was a bit heavier than the honeycomb or grid sandwich, but the critical load, specific strength and energy absorption ability were all improved. The results indicated that the honeycomb filled orthogrid core sandwich with carbon fiber face sheet could provide improved structural properties for thin walled engineering structures. Abstract: Critical local and global buckling loads of grid-stiffened carbon-fiber thin-shell structures, such as advanced grid-stiffened (AGS) conical shells relevant to aviation and aerospace applications, under uniform external transverse pressure were determined analytically using an equivalent stiffness model considering the influence of non-uniform grid distribution and the minimum potential energy principle. Experiments and finite-elements analysis have been carried out to assess the reliability of this analytical model. To maximize the buckling resistance for optimal design of the AGS conical shells, a hybrid genetic algorithm combining the genetic approach with a simulated annealing algorithm was developed, which considers the characteristics of multi-constraints and mixed discrete–continuous design variables. Comparisons between the benchmark results from the traditional genetic algorithm and simulated annealing algorithm confirmed the validity and efficiency of the hybrid genetic algorithms. Numerical examples show that the local-buckling constraint is a key factor for weight optimization of the AGS carbon-fiber conical. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: In this paper, we present the initial buckling and post-buckling responses of axial loaded advanced grid stiffened (AGS) composite cylindrical shells with reinforced rectangular or circular cutouts. The AGS cylindrical shells were reinforced by various local grid configurations near the cutout areas. The effects of different reinforcing grid configurations on critical loads were then examined and compared to those of different skin-reinforcing designs using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations. A high-fidelity non-linear analysis procedure was proposed to predict the non-linear buckling response of the shell structures. The simulation results indicated that the grid reinforcements can reduce or eliminate the risk of local buckling response near the cutout areas and increase the critical load of the shell more effectively than the skin reinforcements. Furthermore, those results showed that an optimum grid reinforcement configuration exists, which significantly improved the initial buckling and post-buckling resistance of the cylindrical shells under axial loading. This study aimed specifically to identify the predictors of prolonged recovery after the arterial switch operation for transposition of the great arteries in infants. The clinical records of all infants admitted to the surgical intensive care unit (SICU) between January 2000 and March 2011 after an arterial switch operation were retrospectively reviewed. The cohort was divided into a prolonged recovery group that included all patients who exceeded the 75th percentile for duration of SICU stay and a standard recovery group that included all the remaining patients. Of the 102 patients in the final analysis, 31 experienced prolonged recovery. The median SICU stay was 18 days (range, 14-58 days) for the patients in the prolonged recovery group and only 8 days (range, 5-13 days) for the patients in the standard recovery group. After univariate analysis, a stepwise logistic regression model analysis was used to compare the demographic data as well as the pre-, intra-, and postoperative variables between the two groups. Of all the variables analyzed, high postbypass serum lactate level [odds ratio (OR), 2.610; 95 % confidence interval (CI), 1.464-4.653; p = 0.039], need for larger volume of resuscitation fluid (OR, 3.154; 95 % CI, 1.751-5.682; p = 0.018), and noninfectious pulmonary complication (OR, 2.844; 95 % CI, 1.508-5.363; p = 0.025) were identified as independent risk factors for prolonged recovery among infants undergoing an arterial switch operation for transposition of the great arteries.
