Ferritin is an endogenous protein which is self-assembled by 24 subunits into a highly uniform nanocage structure. Due to the drug-encapsulating ability in the hollow inner cavity and abundant modification sites on the outer surface, ferritin nanocage has been demonstrated great potential to become a multi-functional nanomedicine platform. Its good biocompatibility, low toxicity and immunogenicity, intrinsic tumor-targeting ability, high stability, low cost and massive production, together make ferritin nanocage stand out from other nanocarriers. In this review, we summarized ferritin-based nanomedicine in field of disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The different types of drugs to be loaded in ferritin, as well as drug-loading methods were classified. The strategies for site-specific and non-specific functional modification of ferritin were investigated, then the application of ferritin for disease imaging, drug delivery and vaccine development were discussed. Finally, the challenges restricting the clinical translation of ferritin-based nanomedicines were analyzed.

Hydrolyzed milk proteins include hydrolyzed whey protein and hydrolyzed casein. Hydrolyzed whey protein can be divided into partial （moderate） hydrolyzed whey protein and extensive hydrolyzed whey protein. Hydrolyzed milk protein is used as raw material in infant formula for special medical purpose in China， while partially hydrolyzed milk protein can be used as raw material for standard infant formula in Europe， America， Australia， New Zealand， Japan and Korea. Extensively hydrolyzed milk protein can only be used as raw material for special medical use formula food. The quality of different types of hydrolyzed milk protein ingredients provided by different manufacturers varies a lot. And there is no one-to-one correspondence between their physiological effects related to allergy and gastrointestinal symptoms in healthy infants and infants with high allergy risk. This article reviews the progress of research and regulatory management of hydrolyzed milk protein infant formula powder on allergy and functional gastrointestinal disorders of infants and toddlers.

Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) has been less deadly since the advent of corticosteroid-sparing medications. SLE patients still have a higher mortality rate than the general population. Infectious disease is reported as one of the major causes of death in patients with SLE. Although bacteria are the most often isolated pathogens from patients with SLE, Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) is more deadly than bacterial infection. Methods: We retrospectively enrolled consecutive patients with SLE concurrent with PJP (SLE-PJP) in our center between January 2014 and December 2022. The participants were classified into two groups: survivors and non-survivors. Cox regression models and Kaplan‒Meier survival analyses were conducted to explore prognostic factors for survival. Results: There were 57 patients with SLE (42.0 ± 15.8 years old, 78.9% female) complicated with PJP, 22 (38.6%) of whom died. Compared with the survival group, the non-survival group had more patients with hyperglycemia or diabetes mellitus, invasive ventilation (p < 0.01), respiratory failure, intensive care unit admission, non-invasive ventilation, and hospital-acquired pneumonia (p < 0.05). The non-survival group showed a higher neutrophil percentage, lactate dehydrogenase, D-dimer (p < 0.001), urea, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), and ferritin (p < 0.05). It also had lower minimal albumin, hemoglobin (p < 0.001), immunoglobulin G, complement 3, peripheral lymphocyte count, platelet, NK cell count, and CD4+ T-cell count (p < 0.05). Multivariate analysis indicated that hyperglycemia or diabetes mellitus (HR = 4.25, p < 0.01, 95% CI: 1.51–11.97), thrombocytopenia (HR = 4.22, p < 0.01, 95% CI: 1.63–10.91) and lower complement 3 (C3) (HR = 4.06, p < 0.01, 95% CI: 1.60-10.33) were independent risk factors for the survival of SLE-PJP patients. Conclusions: The mortality rate of patients with SLE-PJP is still high. Hyperglycemia, decreased C3, and thrombocytopenia are independent survival risk factors. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The incremental sheet metal forming process, characterized by the step-by-step deformation of sheet metal using a simple die, is classified as a type of plastic deformation technology. This method allows for the formation of complex-shaped parts even without the use of a specialized die. Its notable characteristic lies in its low forming load and high flexibility. To accurately forecast finite element simulation outcomes for the incremental sheet forming of 2024-O aluminum alloy sheets, constructing a precise constitutive model is essential. Typically, the uniform strain range in traditional unidirectional tensile tests does not surpass 0.3, primarily due to the necking phenomenon. This limitation hampers the accurate prediction of the actual large plastic deformation process. To address this issue, a theoretical model describing the stress-strain relationship in metal plastic deformation processes is developed using crystal plasticity theory. The constitutive model for the forming of 2024-O aluminum alloy is then constructed by adjusting the hardening coefficient and hardening index. Utilizing the improved constitutive model, the incremental sheet forming process is simulated using ABAQUS software. Upon comparison with experimental results, it is observed that the Thickness Average Absolute Relative Errors (TAARE) of the adjusted constitutive model at forming angles of 60°, 55°, and 50° are 0.414%, 0.467%, and 0.256%, and The Thickness Root Mean Square Errors (TRMSE) are determined as 0.0121, 0.0116, and 0.0094, respectively. These results indicate that the constitutive model and parameters established in this study can adequately capture the mechanical behavior of 2024-O aluminum alloy during the incremental sheet forming process. Rubus includes a group of important plants with medicinal and culinary significance, as well as ornamental value. However, due to its status as one of the largest genera in the Rosaceae family and frequent occurrences of apomixis, hybridization, and polyploidy among its species, the morphological identification of this genus is highly challenging. The plastid genome serves as a valuable tool for studying the evolutionary relationships among plants. Therefore, based on the raw data of the whole genomes from six popular Rubus taxa, the complete Cp genomes were assembled, annotated, and subjected to comparative and phylogenetic analyses. In this research, six newly complete Cp genomes were reported, which all had a representative quadripartite formation, with a similar GC content (37.06%–37.26%), and their size ranged from 155,493 bp to 156,882 bp. They all encode 111 unique genes, containing 79 PCGs, 28 tRNA, and 4 rRNA. The analysis of gene structure of different groups showed that the sequence and content of genes were relatively conservative, and there was no gene rearrangement. Most of their PCGs had a high frequency codon usage bias and all genes were in purifying selection states. A nucleotide variable analysis revealed that the IR areas had less variation than the SC areas, and there was the greatest diversity in the SSC area. Eleven hypervariable areas were identified, containing rpl32-trnL, rpl32, rps16-trnQ, trnT-trnL, trnQ-psbK, trnK-rps16, and rps15-ycf1, which could be used as labels for genetic diversity and taxa identification. The phylogenetic trees of 72 Rosaceae plants were constructed based on ML and BI methods. The results strongly support the theory that the Rubus genus was a monophyletic group and sampled species could be arranged into seven subgenera. Overall, this study sheds its new light into the phylogeny of the Rubus genus, providing valuable insights for future studies of the Cp genomes from the expanded taxa of the Rosaceae family.
