With the development of intelligent agricultural machinery, the existing agricultural machinery is upgraded in the direction of intelligence, mechanical shift is the bottleneck of the road to optimization. In order to solve this problem, this paper designs a kind of traditional gearbox electric shift mechanism, which is composed of electric push rod as the main actuating part, sensor as the detecting part and relay as the controlling part. Through the design of the executive part and the reliability test of the electric shift, it is proved that the electric shift mechanism can accomplish the free shift, which lays a foundation for the development of traditional machinery to intelligent direction and remote control. This paper introduces an innovative control chart customized for the gamma distribution, specifically crafted to handle uncertain conditions through repetitive sampling. The control chart's coefficients, along with the probabilities of remaining in control or detecting a shift, and the average run lengths, were derived by assuming the symmetrical behavior typical of the normal distribution, using the neutrosophic interval method. The performance of this chart was evaluated by assessing average run lengths under various uncertain process conditions. The chart's efficacy in identifying both minor and major process shifts was investigated. This study also provides a comparison between the newly proposed chart and existing ones. To demonstrate its practical utility, an example from the healthcare sector is provided. Both simulation results and this practical example confirm that the new control chart is effective in swiftly identifying deviations in processes, making it a valuable tool for managing uncertainty. As rhetoric in political speeches represents a particular persona that political figures strive to cultivate, that rhetoric should project the same image as the original when translated. Therefore, this study aims to explore the shifts in rhetorical strategy categories as seen in the translation of the political speeches of former U.S. Presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump from English to Indonesian, how they affect message correctness, and how they may change the orator's political character. In multiple case studies covering the acceptance and inauguration speeches of both Obama and Trump, some rhetoric maintains their original identities. Moreover, there are five different shifts found in the rhetoric of their speeches: 1.) a shift from rhetoric to non-rhetoric; 2.) a shift from rhetoric to lost or deleted rhetoric; 3.) a shift from a particular type of rhetoric strategy to another; 4.) lessening rhetorical power or degree of the same strategy; and 5.) a shift of propositional message. Furthermore, the study reveals that retaining rhetorical categories in the translation results in higher accuracy, whereas any shift has the opposite effect, as it changes the original rhetorical message. As a result, this raises the possibility that a particularly rhetorical-style political identity may change if a large number of alterations occur. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Modern linguistic studies have produced special materials that contain new approaches to literary and linguistic critical research. These new approaches, in turn, have dealt with literary texts - whether ancient or modern - from an angle in which they differ from each other, but the common denominator is that... What unites them is the language, as all of these approaches adopted language as their basis in dealing with and reading the literary work. This is why readings and analyzes of literary texts appeared according to several approaches, represented by structuralism and deconstruction. Semiotics, stylistics, and pragmatics, and all of these are not lacking It includes after consideration and investigation. As I stand before these linguistic schools, I decided to adopt a stylistic approach that brought Surat Al-Dhuha closer to the text. The Holy Qur'an through stylistic shift in it. Background: Due to the increasing demand for production, shift work has become necessary. However, shift workers often experience decreased sleep quality due to misalignment between their working hours and physiological rhythms. This study aims to investigate the impact of workplace exercise on the sleep quality of rotational shift workers. Methods: This interventional study involved 164 production line shift workers, who were divided into two groups: an experimental group (n = 82) and a control group (n = 82). Data were collected using a demographic questionnaire and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Inventory (PSQI). The experimental group engaged in corrective exercises conducted within the workplace for two 10-minute sessions per day, six days a week for eight weeks. Following the intervention, PSQI questionnaires were re-administered to both groups. Results: The results indicated that after the workplace exercise intervention, the sleep quality of rotational shift workers in the experimental group improved by 7.3%, while it decreased by 28.1% in the control group. Additionally, the exercise intervention significantly reduced sleep latency (Z = -3.47, P < 0.001) and sleep disturbance (Z = -2.9, P < 0.001), while enhancing sleep efficiency (Z = -2.34, P = 0.01). Conclusion: Implementing workplace exercise interventions with supervisors and in groups can enhance sleep quality among rotational shift workers leading to reduced sleep latency and disturbances. PERSONAL names ,IDENTITY (Psychology) ,INTERNATIONAL communication ,CULTURAL values ,WESTERN civilization - Abstract
Some African societies use personal names as a means of conveying their cultural values, traditions, and experiences. Personal names are therefore an important means of identifying their bearers. However, in recent times, it has been observed that the practice of identity construction does not seem to apply in the naming patterns of some African societies. Among the Igbo people of southeastern Nigeria, there has been a shift in the contemporary naming of children as a result of greater media access, global communication, creativity, and the rising profile of Pentecostal Christianity. This study investigates the new trends in naming among the Igbo, as well as the motivations, semantic implications, and the general perception of these names by the Igbo people. Using the causal theory of names, this study adopts a qualitative design approach, and data were elicited from 100 participants who were mainly name-givers, bearers, and users. This study reveals a decline in the observance of the traditional naming patterns or practices of the Igbo, as it was noted that the new naming trend is related to favorableness toward Western culture, religion, and influence, which is seen as a form of style that connects name-bearers with prestige and modernity. This is a comparative study between Malcolm X's speech, "The Ballot or the Bullet," and his Ford Auditorium address, which reveals a shift in rhetoric. Malcolm X's rhetoric changed from being separation-laden, calling for a black counter-cultural hegemonic orientation of black nationalism, into being more inclusive of all races and advocating for the "brotherhood of all men." This paper explores the process, the reasons and the implications of this shift in rhetoric. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Video anomaly detection attempts to identify abnormal activity within an overwhelming volume of surveillance videos. In order to learn efficient features in both spatial and temporal dimensions for anomaly detection with a lower calculation cost, a temporal-spatial interactive shift module (TISM) is proposed, avoiding the huge computation cost of 3D convolution. The module shifts part of the feature channels over the time dimension via weighted spatial interaction with temporally neighbored features, allowing spatial information to be interactively exchanged between adjacent frames. Entropy is introduced into the interactive operation for channel selection and adaptive weighting. Experiments on the UCF-Crime dataset prove the superiority of the proposed method. The AUC is increased by 2.53% compared with the SOTA baseline and 6.24% compared with the 3D CNNs, while reducing the amount of calculation by 26%. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CLIMATIC zones , *GLOBAL warming , *ATMOSPHERIC models , *CLIMATE change , *ECONOMIC development - Abstract
Climate zones are expected to shift in response to climate change, which significantly influences vegetation distribution and provides essential guidance for human activities including production, lifestyle and economic development. Quantifying the shifts in climate zones due to global warming is therefore crucial. The primary metric for categorizing climate zones is the number of days with a daily mean temperature above 10°C (DT10). Utilizing DT10 and the ERA5 reanalysis data, it is observed that climate zones in China have gradually shifted northward over the past 65 years. Notably, the interdecadal changes in the climate zones differ between the eastern and western regions divided by the 110°E longitude. The western regions show minimal shifts, whereas the eastern regions, particularly the central and southern parts of Northeast China, exhibit obvious northward shifts. Consequently, the simulation capabilities of 41 CMIP6 models for Chinese climate zones were assessed, and it was found that 11 models demonstrated robust performance. These models were further used to analyse interdecadal variations and project future shifts in climate zones in China. The results show that the spatial pattern of climate zones in China can be well captured by the CMIP6 models, except for ACCESS‐CM2, FGOALS‐g3 and GFDL‐CM4. Each CMIP6 model seems to be more suitable for specific climatic zones concerning trends and decadal variations in China. By 2100, a northward shift is projected for all climate zones in the east of 110°E under SSP2‐4.5 and SSP5‐8.5 emission scenarios, particularly in northern China. It should be noted that the potential disappearance of the northern subtropical belt, likely to be replaced by the middle subtropical belt in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

COGNITIVE maps (Psychology) ,COGNITIVE analysis ,SOCIAL perception ,LINGUISTIC change ,COGNITION - Abstract
Semantic cognition should be considered first when translating. The cognitive process relates to how people determine the component semantics of words in either written or oral text. Simply put, the cognitive process brings semantic labels to one's mind, which correspond to syntactic labels of a different language discourse. Translators' efforts to match the meaning of source language (SL) text in the target language (TL) can lead to translation shifts. Therefore, this article focuses on the valence shift between English and Indonesian. The primary source of this article was Start With Why by Sinek (2009) and its Indonesian translation by Purwoko (2019). The analysis applied the Cognitive Affective Map tool. This article explores the translation shift by considering the semantic map by Song (2018) and the blended theory by Ungerer and Schmid (2006). The results of this research indicate that an intrasystem shift occurs. Ergative cases in source language change to nonergative cases, and the entity of semantic argument changes animate cases to be unanimated, or vice versa. In addition, the number of semantic arguments changes. This research implies that translators should define semantic arguments when translating and clarify them with target language speakers' social cognition to find equivalent meanings. We consider a one-dimensional singularly perturbed 4th order problem with the additional feature of a shift term. An expansion into a smooth term, boundary layers and an inner layer yields a formal solution decomposition, and together with a stability result we have estimates for the subsequent numerical analysis. With classical layer adapted meshes we present a numerical method that achieves supercloseness and optimal convergence orders in the associated energy norm. We also consider coarser meshes in view of the weak layers. Some numerical examples conclude the paper and support the theory. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective To evaluate the causal relationship between shift work (SW) and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases (CCVD) by Mendelian randomized method. Methods The summary statistical data of shift and 9 CCVDs were extracted from UK biobank (UKBB) and the largest genome-wide association study (GWAS) of European descendants for MR analysis, and verified by data of FinnGen biological bank. After that, meta-analysis was used to combine discovery cohort and replication cohort to expand the sample size to obtain more reliable causal effects. At the same time, a two-step MR method was used to evaluate the potential mediating effect of CCVD-related risk factors on causal effects between shifts and CCVD. A variety of sensitivity analysis methods were used to verify the reliability of the results. Results This study showed that shifts increased risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) (OR=1.06, 95%CI: 1.02-1.10, FDR=0.003), coronary heart disease (CHD) (OR=1.32, 95%CI: 1.10-1.60, FDR=0.007), myocardial infarction (MI) (OR=1.64, 95%CI: 1.24-2.20, FDR=0.003), and angina pectoris (AP) (OR=1.40, 95%CI: 1.15-1.70, FDR=0.003) based on the inverse-variance weighted (IVW) method. Pleiotropy test results (MR-Egger intercept and MR-PRESSO global test P > 0.05) showed the robustness of results. In addition, essential hypertension (EHT), type 2 diabetes (T2DM), body mass index (BMI), depressive state (DS), and current smoking (CM) partially mediated the causal effects of shift on CVD, CHD, MI, and AP. And the proportions were as follows: [BMI:CVD (81.70%), CHD (47.03%), MI (45.04%)], [EHT:CHD (42.87%), MI (40.72%), AP (57.05%)], [T2DM:CVD (12.51%), CHD (7.58%), MI (5.27%), AP (8.39%)], [DS:CVD (237.12%), CHD (26.00%), MI (22.06%), AP (32.60%)], and [CM:CVD (11.42%)]. Conclusion This study provides reliable evidence that shifts increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, and angina pectoris, which are partially mediated by essential hypertension, type 2 diabetes, BMI, depression and current smoking. INTRODUCTION: Most airline pilots reported having suffered from sleep disorders and fatigue due to circadian disruption, a potential risk to flight safety. This study attempted to uncover the actual scenario of circadian disruption and working load status among airline pilots. METHODS: In study 1, 21 pilots were invited to participate in a 14-d sleep monitoring and a dual 2-back test to monitor their sleep patterns and cognitive function level. To provide an in-depth view, data from scheduled flights, including 567 airline pilots, was analyzed in Study 2. The present study used cluster analysis to reflect the distribution of the flight scheduling characteristics, including working time and actual working hours. A simulation model was then developed to predict the pilots' 1-mo sleep-wake pattern. RESULTS: The results indicated that sleep problems were prevalent in this population, especially the night before an earlier morning shift. Regarding the cognitive test, they scored the lowest on earlier morning shifts compared with daytime and evening shifts. It was found that over 70% of the flight schedules can lead to circadian disruption, and 47.44% of the pilots worked under high-load status. DISCUSSION: Airline pilots inevitably work irregular hours and the current policies for coping with circadian disruption seem inefficient. This study thus calls for urgency in improving scheduling and fatigue management systems from the circadian rhythm perspective. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Study Design. Retrospective single-center study using prospectively collected data. Objective. To describe the incidence of and identify risk factors for intraoperative screw malposition secondary to skive or shift during robot-assisted cortical bone trajectory (RA-CBT) insertion. Summary of Background Data. RA-CBT screw malposition occurs through 2 distinct modes, skive or shift. Skive occurs when a downward force applied to the cannula, drill, tap, or screw, causes the instrument to deflect relative to its bony landmark. Shift is a change in the position of the RA system relative to the patient after registration. Patients and Methods. A consecutive series of patients older than 18 years who underwent RA-CBT screw placement between January 2019 and July 2022 were enrolled. Baseline demographic and surgical data, Hounsfield Units (HUs) at L1, and vertebral shape related to screw planning were collected. Skive or shift was recorded in the operating room on a data collection form. Results. Of 1344 CBT screws in 256 patients, malposition was recognized intraoperatively in 33 screws (2.4%) in 27 patients (10.5%); 19 through skive in 17 and 14 through shift in 10 patients. These patients had higher body mass index than patients without malposition (33.0 vs. 30.5 kg/m2, P = 0.037). Patients with skive had higher HU (178.2 vs. 145.2, P = 0.035), compared with patients with shift (139.2 vs. 145.2, P = 0.935) and patients without screw malposition. More than half of the screw malposition was observed at the upper instrumented vertebra. At the upper instrumented vertebra, if the screw's overlap to the bone surface at the insertion point was decreased, skive was more likely (57% vs. 87%, P < 0.001). No patients were returned to the operating room for screw revision. Conclusions. Intraoperative screw malposition occurred in 2.4% of RA-CBT. High body mass index was associated with screw malposition, regardless of etiology. Skive was associated with high HU and decreased screw overlap to the bone surface at the insertion point. In this paper we consider a new class of RBF (Radial Basis Function) neural networks, in which smoothing factors are replaced with shifts. We prove under certain conditions on the activation function that these networks are capable of approximating any continuous multivariate function on any compact subset of the d-dimensional Euclidean space. CHEMICAL equilibrium ,ALGORITHMS ,EMPLOYEE motivation ,THERMODYNAMICS - Abstract
Thermodynamics is a branch of physics of high importance for engineering applications but is usually considered by most students as a rather obscure field, full of abstract concepts. Therefore, simple algorithms, which can exemplify the use of thermodynamic principles for practical situations, should be viewed as valuable teaching tools with large applications in engineering undergraduate courses. This point served as motivation for the present work, which proposes an alternative and simple computational approach for solving chemical equilibrium problems via successive reaction quotient calculations, both for single and multireactional systems. HEPATOCELLULAR carcinoma , *FOCAL adhesions , *MULTIDRUG resistance , *SALT , *CELL migration - Abstract
The clinical effectiveness of locoregional therapies in treating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is frequently constrained by multi‐drug resistance and/or tumor metastasis. To surmount these challenges, a promising approach, transcatheter arterial ionic‐embolization (TAIE) is proposed, which can specifically and continuously disrupt the intracellular ionic balance to significantly inhibit tumor activity and invasion. The hydrophilic micro‐nanoscale sodium chloride particles (SCPs) are ingeniously intermixed with hydrophobic lipiodol to create a super‐stable homogeneous embolic formulation (lipiodol‐sodium chloride, LSC). After interventional administration, the LSC selectively deposits in HCC lesions, where lipiodol stably delivers SCPs to disrupt the cell's ionic balance, causing cell death without drug resistance. Notably, it is demonstrated that LSC can significantly hinder tumor cell migration and invasion. The mechanism is through SCP disruption of the ionic balance, which induces cell swelling and subsequent vimentin hydrolysis‐mediated cytoskeletal remodeling. In addition, it is found that LSC treatment notably downregulates the expression of MYLK, TLN, and THBS2 genes in the focal adhesion (FA) signaling pathway of HepG2 cells. LSC formulation integrated tumor‐specific deposition, intratumoral sustained release, efficient tumoricidal activity, significant metastasis inhibition, and excellent biological safety, thereby demonstrating superior in vivo tumor therapeutic effects via TAIE strategy, and showing a promising cancer therapeutic approach for clinical application. - Abstract
Currently, many applications implement convolutional neural networks (CNNs) on CPUs or GPUs while the performances are limited by the computational complexity of these networks. Compared with the implementation on CPUs or GPUs, deploying convolutional neural accelerators on FPGAs can achieve superior performance. On the other side, the multiplication operations of CNNs have been a constraint for FPGAs to achieve the better performance. In this letter, we proposed a shift CNN accelerator, which converts the multiplication operations into shift operations. Based on the shift operation, our accelerator can break the computational bottleneck of FPGAs. On Virtex UltraScale+ VU9P, our accelerator can save DSP resources and reduce memory consumption while achieving a performance of 1.18 Tera Operations Per Second (TOPS), which is an essential improvement over the other convolutional neural accelerators. (1) Background: Several researchers have highlighted a higher incidence of overweight and obesity among nurses, and others have analyzed the quality of nurses' eating habits and their related physical activity levels. The present study assessed the differences in personal habits among Italian oncology nurses according to sex, work experience and shift. (2) Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed during September–October 2023. A Google Moduli questionnaire was created and divulgated through Facebook and Instagram "Nurseallface" social pages. (3) Results: A total of 306 Italian oncology nurses agreed to participate in this study. Significant differences were reported between sex and the nutrition dimension (p = 0.018); male nurses reported higher levels in this dimension (2.69 ± 0.43) than females (2.56 ± 0.49). By considering the role of work experience in the health-promoting lifestyle profile, significant differences were recorded in the physical activity sub-dimension (p < 0.001), especially among nurses employed for more than 30 years who reported higher levels of physical activity (5.25 ± 0.23) than the other groups. By considering the shift role in the health-promoting lifestyle profile, significant differences were recorded with a health-promoting lifestyle general score (p = 0.046), especially among nurses employed only during the morning shift who recorded higher levels in health-promoting lifestyle than the others (one shift: 2.49 ± 0.29 vs. two shifts: 2.47 ± 0.24 vs. three shifts: 2.41 ± 0.25). Additionally, significant differences were reported in the physical activity dimension (p = 0.017), since nurses employed only during the morning shift recorded higher levels of physical activity than the others (one shift: 2.96 ± 1.28 vs. two shifts: 2.55 ± 0.94 vs. three shifts: 2.48 ± 1.20). Finally, a significant difference was recorded in the nutrition dimension (p = 0.017), since nurses employed during the morning and the afternoon shifts recorded higher levels of nutrition than the others (two shifts: 2.73 ± 0.39 vs. one shift: 2.63 ± 0.43 vs. three shifts: 2.56 ± 0.51). (4) Conclusions: Nurses represent the motive of healthcare organizations. Promoting healthy lifestyles among nurses would help healthcare organizations to have a healthy workforce, and nurses themselves can be advocates for policies to improve patient lifestyles and improve chronic disease prevention.

- Abstract
Let f and g be two nonconstant meromorphic functions, and n be a positive integer. If f
n (z) and gn (z) share 1 CM (counting multiplicities), f(z) and g(z) share ∞ IM (ignoring multiplicities), and ... + ... = S(r,f) + S(r,g), then either f(z) = tg (z) or f(z)g(z)=t, where tn = 1. As an application, shared values problems of a meromorphic function related to its shifts and difference operators are also investigated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]- Published

CHRISTIAN missionaries , *HISTORIOGRAPHY , *MISSIONARIES , *WESTERN society - Abstract
The British colonizers, while writing about Mizoram and Mizo history, stressed their achievements in uplifting the Mizo community. Christian missionaries from Wales landed in Mizoram after the British colonizers annexed the land. They also followed the British administrators' patronizing way of writing Mizo history. They saw the Mizo people as savage, and unsaved who needed the Gospel. They viewed Mizo society as one that needed a complete transformation. The first-generation Mizo Christians, too, looked at Mizo society from the Western lens. That was because missionaries trained them to be as Western as possible. A significant shift in Mizo Christian historiography emerged in the 1990s, emphasizing that tribal communities accepted Jesus Christ not because of external factors such as the arrival of missionaries from a foreign country, but because God resides in their hearts and that the Holy Spirit inspired them to believe in Jesus Christ, whoever the agent was. There has been widespread international implementation of duration-hour restrictions to prevent surgical resident burnout and promote patient safety and wellbeing of doctors. A variety of Extended-Duration Work Shifts (EDWS) have been implemented, with a variety of studies examining the effect of shift systems on both surgical performance and the stress response unestablished in the literature. This was a systematic review evaluating the impact of extended working hours on surgical performance, cognitive impairment, and physiological stress responses. The review used PubMed, Ovid Medline, Embase, and Google Scholar search engines between September and October 2021 in accordance with Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. Filters including studies carried out after 2002 and published in the English language were applied. In total, 30 studies were included for analysis. General surgery was the most commonly studied rotation, with Neurosurgical, Orthopedic, and ear, nose and throat specialties also included. The majority of studies found no difference or a significant improvement in post-EDWS on simulated performance. EDWS appeared to have the greatest impact on physiological stress markers in junior surgical trainees. Experience appears to confer a protective element in the postcall period, with preservation of skill demonstrated. More experienced clinicians yielded lower levels of physiological markers of stress, although variability in hierarchical workload should be considered. Heterogeneity of findings across physiological, cognitive, and psychomotor assessments highlights the need for robust research on the optimum shift pattern prevents worker burnout and promotes patient safety. Future research to evaluate correlation between stress, on-call workload, and performance in the postcall period is warranted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

TRANSLATORS , *TRANSLATING & interpreting , *FAMILIES - Abstract
The study tackles tense shifts in the translation of the Glorious Quranic (GQ) into English. It is observed that translators may resort to a shift in tense in order to convey the merit of the original meaning. "And then, some Ayahs are chosen to tackle this issue. The study involves five translators (chosen from different authentic groups) with (12) Ayahs (chosen arbitrarily). The translators are Muhammad Taqi-ud-Din Al-Hilali & Muhammad Muhsin Khan, A.J. Arberry, Talal Itani, Sahih International, and N. J. Dawood. The Ayahs are mostly from part (30). The study begins with theoretical concepts about shifts among languages (Catford), focusing on level shifts, and category shifts, and then, Newmark, Jean-Paul Vinay, and Jean Darbelnet, Bear in mind, that the primary focus of this study is to show shifts rather than evaluating the translators". It is concluded that a shift in tense preserves the meaning of the original text. This study recommended that in order to improve their translations, translators should sometimes consider tense shifts particularly, between languages from different families. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper reports the investigation of Broad Autism Phenotype (BAP) traits and real-world executive function with two samples–parents of children with autism or other (non-autism) developmental disabilities (n = 104) and undergraduates (n = 147). Participants self-reported BAP traits (Broad Autism Phenotype Questionnaire [BAPQ; Hurley et al., 2007]) and real-world-executive functioning (Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Functioning-Adult [BRIEF-A]). Parents evidencing the BAP demonstrated higher means and percentage of clinically significant range scores (t-score ≥ 65) on all BRIEF-A scales compared to controls. In regression analyses, Shift predicted all BAPQ scores. Inhibit was an additional significant predictor for Total and Pragmatic Language; both Inhibit and Plan/Organize were additional significant predictors for Rigid. Undergraduates evidencing the BAP demonstrated higher means and percentage of clinically significant range scores for five of the twelve BRIEF-A scales: Shift, Emotional Control, Initiate, Plan/Organize, and the Metacognition Index. In regression analyses, Shift was a significant predictor for three BAPQ scores (Total, Aloof, and Rigid); Pragmatic Language was predicted by Working Memory. These findings show the increased likelihood of real-world-executive functioning deficits in the BAP but also demonstrate the variation in skills within this population. Regression results underscore the importance of Shift (i.e., cognitive/behavioral flexibility) in BAP symptomatology, but did not exclusively favor Shift as in prior research. These results provide insight into relations among BAP/executive function constructs and suggest multiple avenues for future research. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper deals with the different bilateral relations between humor and cognition: humor depends on cognition, and cognition benefits from humor. The objective is to clarify that humor has important properties, advantages and applications in regard to cognition, beyond those that have been identified and are well-known in the domains of emotions, mental health and social behavior. The examined themes are the involvement of cognition in the understanding of every act of humor, applying specific cognitive strategies that enable comprehending humor, the relations between humor and brain activity, the impact of humor on specific cognitive acts such as creativity, the support of a specific cognitive structures in the humor action (the meaning profile), the ole of cognitive processes such as shifting, identifying he subject-matter in the grasping o humor and the contribution of humor for the development of cognitive processes and thing. The multiplicity of connections between humor and cognition supports the conclusion that humor can be considered as a characteristic component in the cognitive system and in certain individuals even as a sub-system in the cognitive system. Background. To improve the accuracy of navigation and radar systems, functional nodes of the EHF wavelength range are used. At the same time, an increase in the operating frequency increases the requirements for the accuracy of manufacturing and docking devices. Analysis of the propagation of electromagnetic waves, subject to the presence of defects in the waveguide paths, will allow determining sufficient manufacturing accuracy and evaluating physical processes in an irregular area. Aim. The aim of this work was to study the effect of sharp irregularities on the characteristics of the digital twin of a broadband shielded dielectric waveguide operating in the frequency range from 90 to 100 GHz. Methods. Using a numerical experiment, two variants of irregularity were investigated. They are presented in the form of displacement of sections of shielded dielectric waveguides in the vertical and horizontal planes. Results. According to the values of the transfer characteristic of the waveguide path, the regularities of the attenuation of the electromagnetic wave energy from the magnitude of the irregularity are revealed and the permissible manufacturing accuracy is proposed. Conclusion. To solve the problems of sewerage of weak signals, the authors recommend using a non-jointed manufacturing technology.

REMANUFACTURING ,ORIGINAL equipment manufacturers ,LAWN mowers - Abstract
Despite remanufacturing being a value‐retention process capable of bringing both economic and environmental benefits to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), the remanufacturing market is small, and the OEM share on the market is even smaller. There are trends in OEMs hesitating to initiate remanufacturing due to the lack of knowledge or often unjustified assumptions about how remanufacturing affects their business‐as‐usual. To further motivate OEMs to initiate remanufacturing, there is a need to extend the remanufacturing initiation theory to showcase how remanufacturing could be initiated in practice. Therefore, this paper aims to describe a remanufacturing initiation and demonstrate the initiation steps for OEMs by developing a remanufacturing initiation framework. The framework is developed based on a remanufacturing initiation led by an OEM of robotic lawn mowers. Based on the case study, a 5‐step approach for initiating remanufacturing (5AFIR) framework—the remanufacturing sapphire—was developed to interpret and visualise the remanufacturing approach taken at the studied OEM. The framework steps consist of the following: (1) Select a product family, (2) involve actors prone to be impacted by remanufacturing, (3) iteratively identify prerequisites and assess the system performance, (4) develop a plan and industrialise remanufacturing, and (5) refine and validate the assessment in Step 3.
