The cobalt derivative {[Co3(2-stp)2(dpp)4]·2H2O}n (1) has been hydro(solvo)thermally synthesised by combining sodium 2-sulfoterephthalic acid (2-stpH2Na) and divalent cobalt nitrate in presence of the flexible N-donor co-ligand dpp (1,3-di(4-pyridyl)propane). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction shows that 1 is a two-dimensional coordination polymer with carboxylate and sulfonate oxygens and pyridyl nitrogens coordinated to the two symmetry independent octahedral cobalt(II) centres. UV-Vis, magnetic and EPR studies show that the cobalt(II) centres are high-spin. Compound 1 proved to be robust to the removal of the solvent water molecules, which was achieved by heating the sample to yield the desolvated complex {[Co3(2-stp)2(dpp)4]}n (2). 2 was also characterised by single-crystal X-ray diffraction at 331 K. Gas sorption studies on this material showed only surface binding of N2 and modest uptake for CO2. The crystallographic analysis also shows that upon desolvation, the flexible propyl groups of the dpp ligand adjust their positions, reducing the potentially accessible void volumes and accounting for the gas adsorption results.

New mononuclear [Cu2(L1)2(H2O)]2H2O・CH3OH] (cyCu)2, multinuclear [Cu2(L1)2K2][Ni(CN)4] (cyCuKNi), and dinuclear Ni(L1)Lu(NO3)3 (cyLuNi), Cu(L1)Lu(NO3)3 (cyLuCu) and Zn(L1)Lu[(NO3)2CH3COO]CH3OH (cyLuZn) complexes incorporating chiral Schiff base ligands were prepared and characterized by various techniques such as solid-state CD spectra, diffuse reflectance electronic spectra, IR spectra, and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. Crystal structures were also compared with previous ones, namely [Cu(L2)](H2O) (diCu), Cu(L1)Gd(NO3)3 (cyGdCu). Interestingly, determined crystal structures exhibited drastically different structural characteristics as regards coordination numbers, crystalline solvents, features and strain condition, nevertheless with little modification in 3d metal substitution and/or modified organic ligands. In this paper, comparison of common components of structures will be discussed systematically.

着色雄を放虫し,処女雌5頭を誘引源としたフェロモントラップで,ジャガイモガの再捕獲状況を検討し,次の結果を得た。1)再捕獲率はトラップの数,配置等で異なり9～87%であったが,再捕獲虫の67～95%が1日目に捕獲された。2)複数のトラップを配置した場合,放虫点に近いトラップほど多くを再捕獲した。3)放虫点からの距離が50mまでのトラップの再捕獲率はほぼ同じであるが,100mでは一%程度に落ちた。4)処女雌5頭を誘引源としたトラップで,地点ごとの発生の有無を知ろうとする場合のトラップ間隔は,半径50mに1点程度が適当と考えられた。

1)ジャガイモにおけるミナミキイロアザミウマの防除薬剤を検討した結果,オキサミル粒剤15kg/10a,プロチオホス乳剤1,000倍,カーボスルファン乳剤1,000倍の効果がすぐれていた。2)CVP乳剤(240)500倍とマンゼブ水和剤500倍の混用,メカルバム乳剤700倍,TIA-230乳剤1,000倍の効果もある程度みられた。3)使用した11薬剤,13処理には,いずれも薬害は認められなかった。

The seedcorn maggot, Hvlemva platura MEIGEN, attacked the hypocotyl of spring potato crops in Nagasaki in April 1985. After the main stem died before shoots were formed, many branches grew up. Therefore the stems were shorter, the number of stems increased 3.8 times and the total weight of tubers was reduced by 8%, especially tubers weighing more than 110 g showed a decrease of 120 g per hill. The damage was ascribed to the fact that the fields could not be plowed due to the long period of rain after the application of manure and excrements of chicken.
