In the traditional surface plasmon resonance sensor, the sensitivity is calculated by the usage of angular interrogation. The proposed surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor uses a diamagnetic material (Al2O3), nickel (Ni), and two-dimensional (2D) BlueP/WS2 (blue phosphorous-tungsten di-sulfide). The Al2O3 sheet is sandwiched between silver (Ag) and nickel (Ni) films in the Kretschmann configuration. A mathematical simulation is performed to improve the sensitivity of an SPR sensor in the visible region at a frequency of 633 nm. The simulation results show that an upgraded sensitivity of 332°/RIU is achieved for the metallic arrangement consisting of 17 nm of Al2O3 and 4 nm of Ni in thickness for analyte refractive indices ranging from 1.330 to 1.335. The thickness variation of the layers plays a curial role in enhancing the performance of the SPR sensor. The thickness variation of the proposed configuration containing 20 nm of Al2O3 and 1 nm of Ni with a monolayer of 2D material BlueP/WS2 enhances the sensitivity to as high as 374°/RIU. Furthermore, it is found that the sensitivity can be altered and managed by means of altering the film portions of Ni and Al2O3

Abstract Background Nurse team leaders are responsible for contributing to managing the quality of service delivery and facility output of their nurses to ensure there is a high quality of care delivered by the health system. This study aimed to explore the perceptions of public health nursing Team Leaders (TLs) and public health nursing Team Supervisors (TSs) on nurses’ development in Fiji. Methods A qualitative study was used to gather information using in-depth phone interviews among TLs and TSs comprising Chief Midwifery Nursing Officer (CMNO), Director of Nursing (DON), Sub-divisional Nursing Managers (SDNMs), acting SDNMs and Nursing Manager (NM) at Central health division in Fiji. The data was collected through semi-structured open-ended questionnaires and were audio recorded. The data was analyzed using manual thematic analysis process. Results The study comprised of 26 participants, which included 10 TSs and 16 TLs. Four themes were identified for the results amongst TSs and TLs: ethical development; professional development; psychological development; and recommendations. However, nine sub- themes were identified for TSs and eight sub-themes were identified for the result amongst TLs. Conclusion This study highlighted that TLs and TSs elaborated on the need for the ethical, professional, psychological development, nursing development and also on the importance of policies and guidelines. Professional ethics should be integrated into the Continuous Profession Development (CPD) points that are used to renew yearly nursing licenses as well as exposing the need for having competencies on professional ethics in nurses’ logbooks. Further research is needed to determine the in-depth barriers.

Herein, we disclose the development of novel aminomethylation and dicarbonylation reactions of imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines. The developed aminomethylation strategy involves a Pd-catalyzed interrupted borrowing hydrogen strategy by utilizing MeOH as the methylene source. A wide variety of imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines and secondary amines were explored for the developed strategy. The established imidazo[1,5-a]pyridine dicarbonylation strategy involves a catalyst/additive-free direct cross-dehydrogenative coupling reaction between imidazo[1,5-a]pyridines and 2-oxoaldehydes. Understanding reflection and refraction are an integral part of school and college learning. In nature even birds and fish (Archer fish) very skillfully use refraction to strike down prey present above or below the water surface. Fermat's principle allows one to look beyond the reasons behind the laws governing the reflection and refraction. A pedagogical computer based experiment (CBE) is proposed to demonstrate the simplicity of usage of Fermat's principle for undergraduate physics students in universities and school students pursuing secondary education by implementing a program written in open source software Scilab and also through MS Excel/Open Office. In this work we probe: (i) the refraction across a plane interface and (ii) reflection from a parabolic mirror and arrive at many useful propositions.

A one-pot domino protocol employing gold(I) catalysis has been developed for the cascade trifluoromethyl-amination/sulfoximination of quinones. Togni I serves as the trifluoromethyl installing precursor, while amine or sulfoximine serves as the aminating source. Preliminary investigations suggest a mutual activation of Togni I and the amine precursor, facilitating the facile difunctionalization of quinones with excellent regioselectivity. Extensive substrate scope exploration demonstrates moderate to good yields of difunctionalized products. Emotional intelligence has emerged as a novel concept in today's workplace, largely due to its necessity across all positions within businesses. Alongside cognitive and technical competencies, there's a growing recognition of the importance of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills to effectively navigate the intricate demands of modern healthcare systems. Research has revealed that workplace stress significantly hampers nurses' performance, prompting the exploration of emotional intelligence (EI) as a valuable tool to combat stress and enhance productivity. Between January 2022 and July 2022, 400 female nurses from both public and private hospitals in Jaipur participated in a study assessing the potential correlation between EI and job performance. A total of 397 responses were received and analyzed using IBM SPSS version 23.0. Regression and structural equation modeling techniques were employed to test hypotheses, with a significance threshold set at p < 0.05. EI has been identified as a crucial skill for elevating nursing performance and fostering group cohesion. The proficient performance of nurses is instrumental in meeting both patient needs and organizational objectives. While self-motivation, emotion management, and social awareness positively influence job performance, findings indicate that empathy and self-awareness may have a detrimental effect on performance. In the past years, angular interrogation has been most widely used to calculate sensitivity of surface plasmon resonance sensors. The proposed surface plasmon resonance sensor incorporates ferromagnetic material nickel (Ni), and Al2O3 as a protective layer, and two-dimensional (2D) heterostructure material (Blue phosphorous-tungsten di-selenide). The device structure is based on Kretschmann configuration, in which Al2O3 sheet is sandwiched between silver (Ag) and nickel (Ni) films, to enhance the sensitivity of the SPR sensor in the visible region. The operated wavelength 633 nm has been used for proposed device structure. The numerical simulation has been performed by MATLAB and COMSOL Multiphysics 5.3a software in this article. The simulation results show for analyte refractive indices ranging from 1.330 to 1.335. The proposed SPR configuration consists of 20 nm Al2O3, 60 nm Ag, and a monolayer of BlueP/WSe2 which enhance the sensitivity 398°/RIU. Some other performance parameters like figure of merit, detection accuracy, limit of detection, full width at half maxima, and TM electric field intensity have been also calculated in this work. Background: It has been a matter of debate for long time about the existence of two distinct phenotypes of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) predisposed to either renal or skeletal manifestation. Objective: To differentiate characteristics of symptomatic PHPT patients based on the presence of skeletal or renal involvement. Design: Retrospective analysis of data from the Indian PHPT registry. Patients: PHPT patients were divided into four discrete groups: asymptomatic, presenting with renal manifestations alone, skeletal manifestations alone, and both skeletal and renal manifestations. Measurements: Clinical, biochemical, and tumour weight and histopathological characteristics of these groups were compared. Results: Of the 229 eligible patients, 45 were asymptomatic, 62 had renal manifestations, 55 had skeletal manifestations, and 67 had both skeletal and renal manifestations. Patients with both skeletal and renal manifestations had higher serum calcium levels than those with isolated skeletal involvement [12.5 (11.1–13.7) mg/dL, 11.2 (10.6–12.3) mg/dL, respectively; p <.05]. Serum alkaline phosphatase (AP), plasma parathyroid hormone (PTH) levels, and parathyroid tumour weight were significantly higher in patients with isolated skeletal, and both skeletal and renal manifestations, compared to the other two groups. A preoperative PTH and AP level of 300 pg/mL and 152 U/L, predicted the risk of developing skeletal involvement with sensitivity and specificity of 71%, 70%, and 69%, 67%, respectively. Conclusions: We observed distinct skeletal and renal phenotypic subgroups among PHPT patients with characteristic biochemical and hormonal patterns with higher parathyroid disease burden in patients with skeletal complications compared to those with isolated renal manifestation. Background: Multiple pregnancies are associated with an increased risk of obstetric complications as well as perinatal morbidity and mortality especially in developing countries. The present study aims to identify socio-demographic, obstetric, and maternal complications associated with any adverse perinatal outcome in singleton and twin deliveries in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at the R. D. Gardi Medical College in Ujjain between September 1, 2021 and December 31, 2022.. Methods: This comparative prospective study was conducted in the department of obstetrics and gynecology, R. D. Gardi Medical College in Ujjain between September 1, 2021 and December 31, 2022. Consecutive sampling was done till the sample size of 142 was reached for both twin and singleton pregnancies. It included all women admitted in antenatal ward and labor room with clinical or ultrasound diagnosis of twin pregnancy after 28 weeks of gestation. Results: The incidence of twins in this study was 1.85%. Mean maternal age was 24.08±2.73 years for twin pregnancies and 24.08±3.56 for singleton pregnancies. Twins were seen more in multigravida as compared to primigravida. Preterm labor (40%), anemia (26.5%) and hypertensive disorders (14.3%) and PPH (6%) were the most common complication in twin pregnancies. Significantly higher rate of LSCS were seen in twin pregnancies (30.6%) as compared to singletons 17%. There was higher incidence of moderate to severe asphyxia, IUGR and higher rate of NICU admissions in twins as compared to singletons. Conclusions: Early diagnosis, good antenatal care with early recognition of complications and their timely referral and management at a tertiary care with level 3 neonatal care can help reduce maternal and perinatal mortality and morbidity.
