PurposeThis study aimed to develop a radiomics signature for the preoperative prognosis prediction of isocitrate dehydrogenase (IDH)-wild-type glioblastoma (GBM) patients and to provide personalized assistance in the clinical decision-making for different patients.Materials and MethodsA total of 142 IDH-wild-type GBM patients classified using the new classification criteria of WHO 2021 from two centers were included in the study and randomly divided into a training set and a test set. Firstly, their clinical characteristics were screened using univariate Cox regression. Then, the radiomics features were extracted from the tumor and peritumoral edema areas on their contrast-enhanced T1-weighted image (CE-T1WI), T2-weighted image (T2WI), and T2-weighted fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (T2-FLAIR) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images. Subsequently, inter- and intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) analysis, Spearman’s correlation analysis, univariate Cox, and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) Cox regression were used step by step for feature selection and the construction of a radiomics signature. The combined model was established by integrating the selected clinical factors. Kaplan–Meier analysis was performed for the validation of the discrimination ability of the model, and the C-index was used to evaluate consistency in the prediction. Finally, a Radiomics + Clinical nomogram was generated for personalized prognosis analysis and then validated using the calibration curve.ResultsAnalysis of the clinical characteristics resulted in the screening of four risk factors. The combination of ICC, Spearman’s correlation, and univariate and LASSO Cox resulted in the selection of eight radiomics features, which made up the radiomics signature. Both the radiomics and combined models can significantly stratify high- and low-risk patients (p < 0.001 and p < 0.05 for the training and test sets, respectively) and obtained good prediction consistency (C-index = 0.74–0.86). The calibration plots exhibited good agreement in both 1- and 2-year survival between the prediction of the model and the actual observation.ConclusionRadiomics is an independent preoperative non-invasive prognostic tool for patients who were newly classified as having IDH-wild-type GBM. The constructed nomogram, which combined radiomics features with clinical factors, can predict the overall survival (OS) of IDH-wild-type GBM patients and could be a new supplement to treatment guidelines.

This paper analyzed the statistical data that collected by four air quality monitoring stations in Longyan city, Fujian Province, which indicate that the percentage of sulfur dioxide (SO 2 ), nitrogen dioxide (NO 2 ) and respirable particulate matter (PM 10 ) in atmosphere. The annual average concentrations of the three pollutants are calculated. Then the fuzzy evaluation method is applied to evaluate the air quality of Longyan city. The result indicates that the air quality of Longyan city is improving better year by year. Its air quality meets the national air quality standards for grade II in most times. Respirable particulate matter (PM 10 ) is the key pollutant that influences the evaluation result of Longyan's air quality. According to the result, many countermeasures to improve the air quality of Longyan city are presented.

Effects of simulated acid rain (SAR) on growth and development in Brassica campestris L. (rape) were studied. Plants were exposed every two days after tenth day of emergence to 10 mm simulated rain at pH levels of 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, 5.6 and 6.5 (CK). The results indicated that influences on growth and development in rape were highly correlated with pH levels under treatment of acid rain. The impacts mainly depended on the acidity of SAR, and then the time of rape suffered from SAR. The visible symptoms of rape injury were appeared at foliar injury such as chlorosis or necorsis. Acid rain stress can cause plant height dwarf, lengths of stem and root reduce, and fresh and dry weights of edible portions and roots significantly decrease. With increasing acidity of acid rain, the growth and development of rape were remarkably inhibited. Under stress of the weak acid rain, growth of rape was partly stimulated.

In this paper, the rough sets theory (RS) is used to analyze the pollution sources of the atmospheric particulates in heating period and non-heating period of Jilin City. The result shows that the sorting results of pollution sources of atmospheric particulates in Jilin City which are calculated by the rough sets theory and CMB model are similar. In heating period, the greatest contribution to atmospheric particulates of Jilin City is fugitive dust, while in non-heating period the most contributing pollution source is construction dust. Rough sets theory on sources analysis of atmospheric particulates is simple, practical, and less demanding on the data. It is especially proper to be applied in the small and medium cities.

It is common to use Yb-doped double-clad fibers as gain medium of high power fiber lasers. These fibers are similar to the so-called "un-doped" telecommunication fiber. Because of small core size, only from several microns to tens of microns, there are easier causing self-pulsing affects in the fiber lasers. In the first part it is reported the several kinds of self-pulsing according to the reported papers, like relaxed oscillation, saturated absorption effect, stimulated Brillouin scattering and stimulated Raman scattering. Then it is presented the experimental study and the different self-pulsing phenomena. The result shows that under the high power condition, although ytterbium ions without concentration effect, but large core Yb-doped double-clad fiber are the same to three-level ion systems that self-pulsing behavior was the result of relaxed oscillation. To Yb-doped fiber laser, saturated absorption effect, stimulated Brillouin scattering and stimulated Raman scattering cannot be ignored.
