High-level ab initio calculations are performed on the coinage metal cations (Cu+, Ag+, and Au+) interacting with each of the rare gases [Rg (Rg=He to Rn)]. The RCCSD(T) procedure is employed, with basis sets being of approximately quintuple-ζ quality, but with the heavier species using relativistic effective core potentials. The interaction potentials are compared to experimental and theoretical data where they exist. In addition, transport coefficients for the mobility and diffusion of the cations in the rare gases are calculated. The latter have involved a rewriting of some of the programs used, and the required modifications are discussed. The mobility results indicate that, rather than being a rare occurrence, mobility minima may be common phenomena. Finally, a new estimate is put forward for the validity of zero-field mobilities in ion mobility spectrometry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Mycoplasma infection is on the rise in recent times. It usually infects any system, including liver. This study aims to show the significance of elevated liver enzymes in mycoplasma pneumonia and to have a look at future prospects. This is a single-center retrospective study involving 105 children serologically positive for mycoplasma IgM and IgG antibodies and 50 with community-acquired pneumonia caused by organisms other than mycoplasma and Epstein-Barr virus from June 2015 to June 2016 and all without prior liver disease. The patients were followed after 10 days (7-14 days). The liver enzymes were significantly elevated in Mycoplasma pneumoniae infection. The mean levels of alanine transaminase and aspartate transaminase were 39.3 and 32.5 IU/L, respectively. There was a seasonal variation during the months of September and February. Liver involvement in mycoplasma pneumonia is mostly a benign condition and asymptomatic. It is insisted that children with continued elevation should be followed conservatively to avoid unnecessary diagnostic procedures in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Acne causes significant impairment in the quality of life of patients, but clinicians in Nepal lack a simple validated tool to measure the psychological side of acne. We planned to translate and validate Cardiff Acne Disability Index, a five item questionnaire into Nepali language to address this need., Methods: A linguistic translation with semantic equivalence to the original English language Cardiff Acne Disability Index was achieved through standard forward and backward translation into Nepali language. All eligible patients were requested to fill the Nepali translated version of both Cardiff Acne Disability Index and Dermatology Life Quality Index questionnaires. Reliability and validity of the newly translated questionnaire were established, based on statistical analyses of factor structure, item correlations and concurrent correlations., Results: This validity study included 94 patients with male: female ratio of 1:3.27 and mean age 21.29 (±3.92) years. Reliability analysis revealed a Cronbach's alpha of .72 and mean inter item correlation coefficient of .337. A single factor was extracted on Principal Component Analysis explaining 48.40% of variance. A strong correlation of Cardiff Acne Disability Index scores to the Dermatology Life quality Index score (rs>.7) indicated good concurrent validity., Conclusions: The newly translated Nepali Cardiff Acne Disability Index is a valid tool to measure the impact of acne in Nepalese patients. This short and simple assessment tool will help clinicians understand the patient's perspective of her acne.
