Abstract Porous ceramics were synthesized using porcelain tile polishing residue (PTPR) and slaked lime (Ca(OH)2) as a reinforcing agent through a hydrothermal autoclaving method. The process parameters, including the quantity of slaked lime added, the hydrothermal autoclaving temperature, and the reaction duration, were optimized meticulously. The composition, structure, thermal and physical properties of the samples were thoroughly analyzed via Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) measurements, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The results indicated that the incorporation of slaked lime and hydrothermal autoclaving led to the formation of calcium silicate hydrate, which corresponded with an enhancement in the strength of the sample. Notably, when the quantity of slaked lime added was optimized at 30 wt%, the formation of tobermorite (5CaO·6SiO2·5H2O) was detected. At a hydrothermal autoclaving temperature of 150 °C, the formation of only sheet-like calcium silicate hydrate was observed. In contrast, at an elevated temperature of 180 °C and 210 °C, needle-like tobermorite was successfully synthesized. The porous ceramic with the most favorable structure was obtained through autoclaving at 180 °C for 10 h with 30 wt% slaked lime, exhibiting a total pore volume of 0.11 mL/g, a specific surface area of 26.35 m2/g, and a mesoporous volume fraction of 90.40%.

This study aims to understand and enhance the indicative significance of convective initiation (CI) products from Fengyun-4A (FY-4A) satellite for summer precipitation over the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. Using the convective initiation (CI) products of FY-4A and precipitation data from the Global Precipitation Measurement Program (GPM), and based on the correspondence between the CI samples identified by the FY-4A CI product and the actual observed precipitation one hour after identifying the CI in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau region from June to August 2022, three categories of the CI samples, including no precipitation CI, weak precipitation CI, and strong precipitation CI, were divided. Then a CI class recognition model was established and the model performance testing was conducted by combining atmospheric convective parameters and geographic location information, two machine learning methods, decision tree and random forest. The results show that there are significant regional differences in the precipitation situation within one hour after the occurrence of CI in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau region, with a higher proportion of no precipitation in the northwest region and a higher proportion of precipitation in the southeast region. By utilizing atmospheric convective parameters such as lift index, total cloud water, wind shear, middle and low level humidity, cloud bottom height, zero degree layer height and so on, it is possible to better distinguish whether there is precipitation and the strength of precipitation after the appearance of CI in the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. The random forests identify model have better performance for CI classification than decision tree, and the use of random forests identify model can more effectively classify summer CI on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau according to precipitation intensity.

Ambidextrous innovation synergy is an effective way for new entrants and R&D entities to break the blockade of key core technologies. This paper constructs a tripartite evolutionary game model of new entrants, the R&D entity, and monopoly enterprises under the monopoly situation of key core technologies, discusses the dynamic equilibrium process of how new entrants cooperate with the R&D entity to carry out the ambidextrous innovation synergy strategy, and extends the model to the policy subsidy situations of different development stages of key core technology. The results show that the monopoly of key core technologies enhances the original innovation search ability of new entrants and promotes the evolution of enterprise imitation innovation to the exploratory innovation strategy. In the basic research stage of key core technology, the exploratory innovation strategy of new entrants is more sensitive to the cost of network embedding and the original innovation knowledge search. New entrants prefer the imitation innovation strategy, and policy subsidies have no significant effect on exploratory innovation. In the promotion stage of the key core technology market, fiscal and tax subsidies can more easily promote the evolution of new entrants from the imitative innovation strategy to the exploratory innovation strategy than R&D subsidies, and network embeddedness can induce enterprises to carry out exploratory innovation only when a certain threshold is reached. In addition, this paper discusses the influence mechanism of monopoly enterprises' suppression intensities and key core technology breakthrough probabilities on the evolution equilibrium of new entrants' ambidextrous innovation synergy strategies.

With the continuous development of Internet of Things, finance, big data and many other fields, blockchain has been widely used in these areas for transactions, data sharing, product traceability and so on. Numerous assets have appeared in the blockchain, and there are some levels of conflicts among privacy protection of these assets, transaction transparency and auditability in blockchain; so how to provide privacy preserving, make public verifications and audit the encrypted assets are challenging problems. In this paper, we propose a privacy-preserving transaction scheme with public verification and reliable audit in blockchain. First, we provide privacy preserving of transaction contents based on homomorphic encryption. It is flexible, as we decouple user identity and transaction contents. Then, we propose and design a multiplicative zero-knowledge proof with formal security analysis. Furthermore, several verification rules are defined by us in the scheme, such as balance verification and multiplicative verification based on the proposed multiplicative zero-knowledge proof. Our scheme enables reliable and offline auditing for each transaction, and we aggregate the zero-knowledge proofs to save the ledger space. Finally, we make a security analysis of our proposal in terms of transaction confidentiality, public verification and audit reliability, and we give a performance analysis of the proposed scheme.

The discovery of BZ19-6 condensate gas field in the Bozhong Sag of Bohai Sea area brought hope and confidence for giant gas fields. Intensive study of the source and genesis of natural gas in BZ19-6 gas field plays an important role for guiding natural gas exploration in the Bohai Sea. Open and sealed system pyrolysis as well as geochemical and numerical simulation show that the high-quality sapropelic lacustrine source rocks with an average TOC content of 3.93% and an IH index of 727 mg/g in the Bohai Sea area mainly generate oil, and only 10% of kerogens in the source rocks crack into gas. For humic-prone source rocks, about 30% of kerogens generate into gas when IH reaches 100 mg/g. However, the humic-prone source rocks still expel gas which is cracked from residual hydrocarbon due to the adsorption of kerogens. The natural gas in BZ19-6 gas field are mainly sourced from Ⅱ1, Ⅱ2 and Ⅲ type source rocks in the third member of Shahejie Formation during mature to high-maturity stages. They are mixtures of kerogen cracked gas and residual hydrocarbon cracking gas sourced from parts of the southwestern Bozhong Sag. The source rocks of the third member of Shahejie Formation in the hydrocarbon supply area mainly discharge oil in the early stage, and changed to gas after 15 Ma, accounting for 82% of the total gas discharge. To find large gas fields in the Bozhong Sag, the targets where source rocks have large gas/oil ratio and mainly expel gas should be focused on.

Abstract Background Elderly patients with COVID-19 were shown to have a high case-fatality rate. We aimed to explore the risk factors associated with death in patients over 70 years old (yr). Methods In this retrospective study, we enrolled consecutively hospitalized patients over 70 yr with COVID-19 between January 20 and February 15, 2020 in Renmin Hospital of Wuhan University. Epidemiological, demographic, and clinical data were collected. Clinical subtypes, including mild, moderate, severe, and critical types, were used to evaluate the severity of disease. Patients were classified into two groups: survivor and non-survivor groups. Clinical data were compared between the two groups. Univariable and multivariable Cox regression methods were used to explore the risk factors. Results A total of 147 patients were enrolled. The case-fatality rate was 28.6%. Multivariable Cox proportional hazard regression showed that clinical subtypes, including the severe type (HR = 2.983, 95% CI: 1.231–7.226, P = 0.016) and the critical type (HR = 3.267, 95%CI: 1.009–10.576, P = 0.048), were associated with increasing risk of death when compared with the general type. Blood urea nitrogen greater than 9.5 mmol/L (HR = 2.805, 95% CI: 1.141–6.892, P = 0.025) on admission was an independent risk factor for death among laboratory findings. Conclusion The patients over 70 yr with COVID-19 had a high case-fatality rate. The risk factors, including clinical subtypes and blood urea nitrogen greater than 9.5 mmol/L, could help physicians to identify elderly patients with poor clinical outcomes at an early stage.

The longitudinal immunologic status of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)-infected patients and its association with the clinical outcome are barely known. Thus, we sought to analyze the temporal profiles of specific antibodies, as well as the associations between the antibodies, proinflammatory cytokines, and survival of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). A total of 1830 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases were recruited. The temporal profiles of the virus, antibodies, and cytokines of the patients until 12 weeks since illness onset were fitted by the locally weighted scatter plot smoothing method. The mediation effect of cytokines on the associations between antibody responses and survival were explored by mediation analysis. Of the 1830 patients, 1435 were detectable for SARS-CoV-2, while 395 were positive in specific antibodies only. Of the 1435 patients, 2.4% presented seroconversion for neither immunoglobulin G (IgG) nor immunoglobulin M (IgM) during hospitalization. The seropositive rates of IgG and IgM were 29.6% and 48.1%, respectively, in the first week, and plateaued within five weeks. For the patients discharged from the hospital, the IgM decreased slowly, while high levels of IgG were maintained at around 188 AU·mL−1 for the 12 weeks since illness onset. In contrast, in the patients who subsequently died, IgM declined rapidly and IgG dropped to 87 AU·mL−1 at the twelfth week. Elevated interleukin-6, interleukin-8, interleukin-10, interleukin-1β, interleukin-2R, and tumor necrosis factor-α levels were observed in the deceased patients in comparison with the discharged patients, and 12.5% of the association between IgG level and mortality risk was mediated by these cytokines. Our study deciphers the temporal profiles of SARS-CoV-2-specific antibodies within the 12 weeks since illness onset and indicates the protective effect of antibody response on survival, which may help to guide prognosis estimation.

Apolipoprotein M (ApoM) exhibits various anti‐atherosclerotic functions as a component of high‐density lipoprotein (HDL) particles. Scavenger receptor class B type I (SR‐BI) is a classic HDL receptor that mediates selective cholesterol uptake and enhances the efflux of cellular cholesterol to HDL. However, the effect of ApoM on cholesterol transport in macrophages remains unclear. In this study, we identified for the first time that ApoM is expressed in mouse macrophages and is involved in cholesterol uptake, similar to SR‐BI. NBD‐cholesterol uptake and efflux in cells were characterized using fluorescence spectrophotometry. The uptake ratios of cholesterol by macrophages from ApoM−/−SR‐BI−/− mice were significantly lower than those from ApoM+/+SR‐BI−/− and ApoM−/−SR‐BI+/+ mice. Real‐time fluorescence quantitative PCR was used to analyze the expression of cholesterol transport‐related genes involved in cholesterol uptake. ApoM‐enriched HDL (ApoM+HDL) facilitated more cholesterol efflux from murine macrophage Ana‐1 cells than ApoM‐free HDL (ApoM−HDL). However, recombinant human ApoM protein inhibited the ability of ApoM−HDL to induce cholesterol efflux. In conclusion, ApoM promotes cholesterol uptake and efflux in mouse macrophages. A better understanding of ApoM function may lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for treating atherosclerotic diseases.

Volunteered geographic information (VGI) plays an increasingly crucial role in flash floods. However, topic classification and spatiotemporal analysis are complicated by the various expressions and lengths of social media textual data. This paper conducted applicability analysis on bidirectional encoder representation from transformers (BERT) and four traditional methods, TextRank, term frequency–inverse document frequency (TF-IDF), maximal marginal relevance (MMR), and linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and the results show that for user type, BERT performs best on the Government Affairs Microblog, whereas LDA-BERT performs best on the We Media Microblog. As for text length, TF-IDF-BERT works better for texts with a length of 140 words, and LDA-BERT performs best with a text length of 70–140 words. For the spatiotemporal evolution pattern, the study suggests that in a Henan rainstorm, the textual topics follow the general pattern of “situation-tips-rescue”. Moreover, this paper detected the hotspot of “Metro Line 5” related to a Henan rainstorm and discovered that the topical focus of the Henan rainstorm spatially shifts from Zhengzhou, first to Xinxiang, and then to Hebi, showing a remarkable tendency from south to north, which was the same as the report issued by the authorities. We integrated multi-methods to improve the overall topic classification accuracy of Sina microblogs, facilitating the spatiotemporal analysis of flooding.

Defects and errors in code are different in that they are not detected by editors or compilers but pose a potential risk to software operation. For safety-critical software such as airborne software, the code review process is necessary to ensure the proper operation of software applications and even an aircraft. The traditional manual review method can no longer meet the current needs with the dramatic increase in code sizes and variety. To this end, we propose Deep Reviewer, a general and flexible code review framework that automatically detects code defects and correlates the review comments of the defects. The framework first preprocesses the data using several methods, including the proposed D2U flow. Then, features are extracted and matched by the detector, which contains a pair of twin LSTM models, one for code defect type detection and the other for review comment retrieval. Finally, the review comment output function is implemented based on the masks generated by the code defect types. The method is validated using a large public dataset, SARD. For the binary-classification task, the test results of the proposed are 98.68% and 98.67% in terms of precision and F1 score, respectively. For the multi-classification task, the proposed framework shows a significant advantage over other methods.

Ultrasonic water meters have current widespread problems of poor site adaptability, low measurement accuracy, and poor stability. A high-precision intelligent ultrasonic water meter with self-diagnosis function and adaptive technology was proposed in this paper, which is focus on improving the measurement accuracy and repeatability of the small pipe diameters. The hardware circuit design of the ultrasonic water meter studied in this paper adopts the low-power STM32L053 microcontroller with Cortex-M0 core architecture and the high-precision 11 ps time resolution timing chip TDC-GP30 to complete the metering function. The software combines pulse width ratio and amplitude voltage measurement technology to make the water meter have self-diagnosis function, avoid measurement errors caused by accidental factors, improve adaptability and measurement accuracy, also the application of adaptive measurement period method is used to improve measurement repeatability. The software adopts the moving average filtering algorithm, which effectively reduces the fluctuation of the time-of-flight(ToF) difference and improve the measurement accuracy of the flow point in the low zone (between the minimum flow and the boundary flow). The experimental verification results show that the accuracy of the small-caliber ultrasonic water meter can reach within ±1.5 %, and the repeatability is less than 0.5 %. In the face of fluid disturbances, adaptive technology is used in this water meter to adjust the measurement period and carry out self-diagnostic function research, and automatically respond to deal with abnormal faults, thereby realizing the demand for intelligence.

Endometriosis is a benign disease that shares some malignant features. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is involved in the pathogenesis of endometriosis. Metastasis-associated protein 1 (MTA1) plays an important role in various cancers by promoting EMT, yet there are no studies on its function in endometriosis. In the present study, we found that MTA1 was highly expressed in the ectopic endometrium of endometriosis patients and that the expression of MTA1 was related to the revised American Fertility Society stage. MTA1 facilitated endometrial stroma cell proliferation, migration, and invasion by inducing EMT, and the promotion function and MTA1 expression were suppressed by resveratrol, a natural polyphenol. Moreover, we revealed that MTA1 induced EMT through interaction with ZEB2. The findings in a mouse endometriosis model further showed that MTA1 and ZEB2 were upregulated in ectopic tissues and that resveratrol inhibited the growth of ectopic lesions and expression of MTA1 and ZEB2. Taken together, we demonstrate that MTA1 is a protein that promotes EMT via interacting with ZEB2 in the pathogenesis of endometriosis, and may be a target of resveratrol.

Abstract Aims/Objective The development of type 2 diabetes is a result of insulin resistance in various tissues, including skeletal muscle and liver. Apolipoprotein M (ApoM) plays an important role in the function of high‐density lipoprotein, and also affects hepatic lipid and glucose metabolism. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether ApoM overexpression modulates glucose metabolism and improves insulin sensitivity. Materials and Methods The Goto‐Kakizaki (GK) rats were transfected with adeno‐associated virus (AAV) encoding rat ApoM gene or control blank. The oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) and hyperinsulinemic‐euglycemic clamp (HEC) experiment were used to assess the insulin sensitivity of GK rats. Results The results show that ApoM messenger ribonucleic acid and protein were significantly overexpressed in the pancreatic tissues. Overexpression of ApoM decreased fasting blood glucose and random blood glucose, improved glucose tolerance, and increased bodyweight and insulin levels in GK rats. The glucose infusion rate of rats in the AAV encoding rat ApoM gene group during HEC test was 1.04‐, 1.23‐ and 1.95‐fold higher than that in the AAV control blank group at 1–3 weeks after injection of AAV, respectively. A Wes‐ProteinSimple assay and quantification was carried out to assess phosphorylated protein kinase B/protein kinase B protein levels in the muscle tissues of ApoM‐overexpressing GK rats, and they were found to be higher than those of the control group at the seventh week after AAV injection. Conclusions ApoM overexpression through adeno‐associated virus gene transfer might improve insulin secretion and insulin sensitivity in GK rats.

Abstract Background Given that abnormal autophagy is involved in the pathogenesis of cancers, we sought to explore the potential value of autophagy-associated genes in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). Methods RNA sequencing and clinical data on tumour and normal samples were acquired from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and randomly assigned to training and testing groups. Differentially expressed autophagy-associated genes (AAGs) were screened. Within the training group, Cox regression and Lasso regression analyses were conducted to screen five prognostic AAGs, which were used to develop a model. Kaplan–Meier (KM) and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were plotted to determine the performance of the model in both groups. Immunohistochemistry was used to demonstrate the differential expression of AAGs in tumour and normal tissues at the protein level. Gene Ontology (GO) functional annotation and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analyses were utilized to further elucidate the roles of AAGs in LUAD. Results The data from the TCGA database included 497 tumour and 54 normal samples, within which 30 differentially expressed AAGs were screened. Using Cox regression and Lasso regression analyses for the training group, 5 prognostic AAGs were identified and the prognostic model was constructed. Patients with low risk had better overall survival (OS) in the training group (3-year OS, 73.0% vs 48.0%; 5-year OS, 45.0% vs 33.8%; P = 1.305E−04) and in the testing group (3-year OS, 66.8% vs 41.2%; 5-year OS, 31.7% vs 25.8%; P = 1.027E−03). The areas under the ROC curves (AUC) were significant for both the training and testing groups (3-year AUC, 0.810 vs 0.894; 5-year AUC, 0.792 vs 0.749). Conclusions We developed a survival model for LUAD and validated the performance of the model, which may provide superior outcomes for the patients.

Stable free-standing two-dimensional Bi monolayer (Bismuthene) structures have been predicted theoretically, but never realized experimentally. Here, the authors show a large-scale synthesis of free-standing Bismuthene and its electrocatalytic activity for CO2 reduction to formate.

Background: Recently, many studies have suggested that bilirubin is associated with the prognosis of colorectal cancer (CRC). Conversely, there is substantial evidence that lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels are associated with the prognosis of cancer. Therefore, we sought to find a novel marker based on the above to predict prognosis in patients with resectable CRC.Methods: A total of 702 patients from Hubei Cancer Hospital were included. The whole population was randomly divided into training (n = 491) and testing (n = 211) cohorts. Next, we established a new index based on direct bilirubin, indirect bilirubin and LDH levels. Chi-square tests, Kaplan-Meier survival analyses, and Cox regression analyses were used to evaluate prognosis. The prediction accuracies of models for overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) were estimated through Harrell’s concordance index (C-index) and the Brier score.Results: The median DFS duration was 32 months (range: 0–72.6 months), whereas the median OS duration was 35 months (range: 0 months–73.8 months). In addition, a new indicator, (DIR.LDH) (HR: 1.433; 95% CI, 1.069–1.920) could independently predict outcomes in CRC patients. Moreover, the module based on DIR. LDH was found to have exceptional performance for predicting OS and DFS. The C-index of the nomogram for OS was 0.802 (95% CI, 0.76–0.85) in the training cohort and 0.829 (95% CI, 0.77–0.89) in the testing cohort. The C-index of the nomogram for DFS was 0.774 (95% CI, 0.74–0.81) in the training cohort and 0.775 (95% CI, 0.71–0.84) in the testing cohort.Conclusion: We successfully established a novel module to guide clinical decision-making for CRC.

Background: Inflammatory factors and nutritional status are critical to the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients. This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of the combination of preoperative lymphocytes, albumin, and neutrophils (LANR) in patients with resectable colorectal cancer.Methods: A total of 753 patients with pathologically diagnosed primary colorectal cancer were included in the study. The value of LANR was defined as follows: LANR, lymphocyte × albumin/neutrophil. The ROC curve, subgroup analysis and Cox proportional hazard regression analysis were used to assess the prognostic value of LANR in overall survival and progression-free survival.Results: The median age of the patients was 60 years (range 52–67 years). In overall survival, the area under the curve of LANR was 0.6276, and the HR (95% CI) was 0.551 (0.393–0.772). And in progression-free survival, the area under the curve of LANR was 0.5963, and the HR (95% CI) was 0.697 (0.550–0.884). The results indicate that preoperative LANR may be a reliable predictor of overall and progression-free survival in resectable colorectal cancer patients.Conclusions: LANR is an important prognostic indicator for patients with resectable colorectal cancer, and it can also provide a reference for clinicians and patients to choose a treatment plan.

Acoustic emission signal processing has always been a key problem in damage assessment of components and materials, and parameter analysis and waveform analysis are two important means of acoustic emission signal processing. In this paper, the parameter analysis method in signal processing and the meaning and characteristics of each parameter are introduced. Then, the waveform analysis method is introduced and the basic theory of wavelet transform and its spectrum analysis in waveform analysis method are mainly analyzed. The comparison between wavelet transform and Fourier transform is made: traditional Fourier transform signal processing methods can only be used to process transient stationary signals, and the transient non-stationary signals cannot be analyzed locally. The wavelet transform can take into account the characteristics of both the time and frequency domains, and it can also reflect the local signal well. Through the analysis of the signals in the process of concrete damage, it is found that the two signal processing methods mentioned above can well characterize the damage evolution of materials and damage precursors.

Density peaks clustering (DPC) is a density-based clustering algorithm with excellent clustering performance including accuracy, automatically detecting the number of clusters, and identifying center points. However, the local density of DPC strongly depends on the cutoff distance which must be prespecified; in addition, the strategy assigns each remaining point to the same cluster as its nearest neighbor of higher density in descending order of local density, which is likely to cause cluster label error propagation. To overcome these limitations, we propose an improved DPC by introducing weighted local density sequence and two-stage assignment strategies, called DPCSA. Many previous improved DPC algorithms neglect additional complexity, whereas DPCSA incorporates the nearest neighbor dynamic table to enhance clustering efficiency. The experimental results for 12 artificial and 11 real-world datasets, including Olivetti face, verify that the DPCSA clustering performance is significantly superior to DPC and DPC via heat diffusion (HDDPC), and slightly superior to fuzzy weighted k-nearest neighbors density peak clustering (FKNNDPC). In addition, the DPCSA is more computationally efficient than FKNNDPC and HDDPC, but less than DPC. The source code of DPCSA is available at https://www.github.com/Yu123456/DPCSA.

Second primary breast cancer (SPBC) is becoming one of the major obstacles to breast cancer (BC) control. This study was aimed to determine the trend of SPBC incidence over time and the risk of developing SPBC in site-specific primary cancer survivors in the United States. The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) 13 registry (1992-2015) was used to identify SPBC patients with previous malignancies. Standardized incidence ratio (SIR) was computed to compare the incidence rates of the observed cases of SPBC in cancer survivors over the expected cases in the general population. Elevated risk of SPBC was observed in women with previous BC (SIR = 1.74) or thyroid cancer (SIR = 1.17). Women with initial skin melanoma in older age (≥50 years) (SIR = 1.11), or White race (SIR = 1.11) presented an elevated incidence of SPBC than the general female population. Besides, Asian/Pacific Islander (API) women with cancer of corpus uteri, ovary, bladder, or kidney were prone to developing SPBC when compared with the general population, with SIRs of 1.61, 1.35, 1.48, and 1.70, respectively. Male BC patients showed profound risk of developing SPBC (SIR = 34.86). Male leukemia patients also presented elevated risk of developing SPBC (SIR = 2.06). Our study suggests significant increase of SPBC in both sexes in the United States. Elevated risk of SPBC exists in survivors with primary BC, female thyroid cancer, male leukemia, and API female cancer patients with primary genitourinary cancer. Our study is helpful in developing strategies for BC control and prevention on specific first primary cancer survivors with an elevated risk of SPBC.

The MicroWave Humidity Sounder 2 (MWHS-2) onboard the FY-3C satellite provides an extra important data source for atmospheric water vapor monitoring besides the Microwave Humidity Sounder (MHS) and the Advanced Technology Microwave Sounder (ATMS). This paper introduces MWHS-2 radiance data into the community Gridpoint Statistical Interpolation (GSI) global analysis system. More than one-year cycling assimilation experiments with and without MWHS-2 data are performed. Results show that MWHS-2 has similar data quality to MHS and ATMS. The biases of MWHS-2 are stable except some sudden jumps that can be removed nicely by the variational bias correction scheme within GSI. Assimilating MWHS-2 makes the 6-h forecasts fit more closely to radiosonde observations, with a reduction of 0.55–1% for the observation-minus-simulation standard deviation of specific humidity. The 500 hPa geopotential height anomaly correlation scores are increased by around 0.006 for the 144-h forecast, indicating that assimilating MWHS-2 may also help to improve 3–8-day forecasts.

Green capacity investment projects have rapidly emerged involving suppliers, customers, and manufacturing organizations in supply chain systems with environmental challenges. This paper focuses on and identifies both primary strategic and operational elements that will aid managers in evaluating and making risky multi-criteria decisions on green capacity investment projects. We propose a cloud prospect value consensus process consisting of feedback and adjustment mechanisms that provide modification instructions to the corresponding decision makers for a decision matrix based on the cloud model and prospect theory, which considers psychological behavior, disagreements between decision makers, and the ambiguity of linguistic variable assessment across multi-criteria risks. The new model increases the efficiency and accuracy of decision making. To verify the feasibility and validity of the Cloud Prospect Value Consensus Degree based on the Feedback adjustment mechanism, its performance is compared with three state-of-the-art multi-criteria group decision-making methods.

To trace evolution of canine parvovirus-2 (CPV-2), a total of 201 stool samples were collected from dogs with diarrhea in Heilongjiang province of northeast China from May 2014 to April 2015. The presence of CPV-2 in the samples was determined by PCR amplification of the VP2 gene (568 bp) of CPV-2. The results revealed that 95 samples (47.26%) were positive for CPV-2, and they showed 98.8%-100% nucleotide identity and 97.6%-100% amino acid identity. Of 95 CPV-2-positive samples, types new2a (Ser297Ala), new2b (Ser297Ala), and 2c accounted for 64.21%, 21.05%, and 14.74%, respectively. The positive rate of CPV-2 and the distribution of the new2a, new2b and 2c types exhibited differences among regions, seasons, and ages. Immunized dogs accounted for 48.42% of 95 CPV-2-positive samples. Coinfections with canine coronavirus, canine kobuvirus, and canine bocavirus were identified. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the identified new2a, new2b, and CPV-2c strains in our study exhibited a close relationship with most of the CPV-2 strains from China; type new2a strains exhibited high variability, forming three subgroups; type new2b and CPV-2c strains formed one group with reference strains from China. Of 95 CPV-2 strains, Tyr324Ile and Thr440Ala substitutions accounted for 100% and 64.21%, respectively; all type new2b strains exhibited the Thr440Ala substitution, while the unique Gln370Arg substitution was found in all type 2c strains. Recombination analysis using entire VP2 gene indicated possible recombination events between the identified CPV-2 strains and reference strains from China. Our data revealed the co-circulation of new CPV-2a, new CPV-2b, and rare CPV-2c, as well as potential recombination events among Chinese CPV-2 strains.

This paper explored the adult student opinions on four types of English classroom activities (language learning; language acquisition; information convey; role play) and the relationship between the fondness degrees and their personality, test performance and motivation. It turned out that the majority of students ranked all classroom activities a bit highly. However, most of them would like to be taught language forms rather than to communicate in English with others. Motivation came out to be the factor that leads to most of the significant differences in this research. Taking into consideration the focus of researches in China nowadays, the results seem to be out of place and deserve serious consideration and further research. (Contains 4 tables.)
