Introduction. Knee osteoarthritis is considered to be a chronic disease that affects the joints by causing pain, joint stiffness and decreased functional capacity. Regular physical activity can keep and increase functional capacity, it can reduce pain by improving movement behavior. The disruption of the sedentary behavior of the elderly patients with knee osteoarthritis can lead to improved physical function and general health. The purpose of this paper is to point out the role of physical activity in the elderly people diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis during the COVID-19 pandemic. Material and method. A total of 155 patients diagnosed (clinical and imaging) with knee ostoarthritis, who were treated on an outpatient basis, from May to September 2020, were studied. The parameters assessed in the study were pain, joint stiffness, the ability to carry out daily activities, anxiety and quality of life. Background: Low back pain is considered a public health problem internationally. Low back pain is a cause of disability that occurs in adolescents and causes negative effects in adults as well. The work environment and physical and psychosocial factors can influence the occurrence and evolution of low back pain. Methods: The purpose of this paper is to highlight the physiological and functional changes in young adults with painful conditions of the lumbar spine, after using exercise therapy. The study was of the longitudinal type and was carried out over a period 6 months in an outpatient setting. The rehabilitation treatment included electrotherapeutic modalities and kinesitherapy. Results: The results obtained when evaluating each parameter, for all moments, show statistically significant values in both groups. The results obtained regarding the relationship between the therapeutic modalities specific to rehabilitation medicine and low back pain are consistent with those reported in studies. Conclusions: Depending on the clinical-functional status of each patient, kinesitherapy can accelerate the heart rate and increase the blood pressure and oxygen saturation of the arterial blood, values that can later return to their initial levels, especially through training. Background. The study aims to perform a somatoscopic analysis on a sample of 100 prepubertal children aged 10-14 years, girls and boys, who are diagnosed with scoliosis. Somatoscopic assessment is one of the most commonly used, therefore we thought that making a way of interpreting the results could be useful to monitor postural attitude in children diagnosed with scoliosis. Identifying the early onset of physical impairment in the spine with somatoscopy can be a key factor in maintaining optimal postural status. This approach may help in achieving a way of working that limits the negative effects of scoliosis on the subjects. Materials and methods. The selection of subjects is based on exclusion and inclusion criteria related to age, comorbidities, therapeutic approach, and other criteria. Also, aspects that accompany the growth and development process of children in this prepubertal period and factors that may disturb this process are described in detail. Also in this context, we will present basic notions of body posture and etiopathogenesis of the onset of scoliotic deficiencies in children during this period of growth and development. Somatoscopic analysis is performed in the orthostatic position and is based on the identification of anatomical landmarks of the body concerning body posture. Results. From the total analyzed scoliosis, n = 100, 74% are type „C" scoliosis and only 26% are type „S" and in terms of gender, 59% are girls and 41% boys; type „C1" (Cobb angle <100) scoliosis n = 60, with an angulation < 100 are 43.24% stabilized, therefore type „C1" scoliosis are more likely to be stabilized. „S"-type scoliosis with an angulation < 150 is only 3 cases representing 11.53%, and those with an angulation from < 200 to < 400 are number 23 cases 88.64% which concludes that „S" type scoliosis is more aggressive and more difficult to manage. Conclusions. Our study show that only 13% of the subjects had a regression of the angulation following the kinetotherapy program, therefore the main objective remains to stabilize the scoliosis attitude and limit the effects of this pathology. A regular assessment and somatotopic analysis resulting in a physiotherapy exercises program containing corrective postural postures and postural education is the most beneficial approach to stabilize the postural deficit. This article discusses a study on the relationship between lifestyle factors and bone mass. The study found that participants had a sedentary level of physical activity and consumed coffee, juice, alcohol, and tobacco. After a dietary intervention, there was a significant increase in bone mass, but no significant difference in body mass index (BMI). The study also found a positive correlation between initial fat mass and initial bone mass, as well as a negative correlation between final fat mass and final bone mass. Patients from rural environments had higher initial bone mass compared to those from urban environments. (1) Background: Analysis of risk factors and prevalence of osteoporosis in an elderly population suggests a study focused on identifying and evaluating factors contributing to osteoporosis among them. (2) Methods: The aim of this paper is to analyse and compare the prevalence levels of osteoporosis in different age groups in adult women, focusing on the identification and assessment of relevant risk factors. Hypothesis of the work: There are assumed to be significant correlations between adult women age groups and osteoporosis prevalence, and these correlations are influenced by a number of risk factors, including older age, BMI, family history of fractures, and BMD bone mineral density levels. (3) Results: There is a tendency to increase the average weight with age up to the age group of 70-79 years. Mean BMI values indicate significant variation in participants weight status, with relatively high values across all age groups. Mean Tscore and Z-score values at femoral neck BMD indicate reduced bone mineral density, possibly associated with osteoporosis or osteopenia, especially in older age groups. (4) Conclusions: There is an increase in average weight with age, and BMI values are relatively high across all age groups, indicating the importance of monitoring and managing body weight to prevent complications associated with osteoporosis. Introduction. Coxarthrosis is a degenerative health condition at the hip level, frequently occurred in adults, especially in 2 to 4 % of the persons who are 50 to 70 years old. Coxarthrosis reduces the joint mobility with consequences upon the walking perimeter and upon steadiness, with severe dysfunctions and negative effects upon the quality of life. It is very important for the patient to avoid putting on weight (possibly losing weight), to avoid using the orthostatism for too long and to avoid walking on rough grounds. Twenty to thirty per cent of the Romanian population are obese. Nutrition is very important for the elderly, that is why they must have an adequate weight by balanced nutrition and by physical activities adapted to the age and to pathology, which might ensure "a healthy and active old age". Objectives. The objectives of this paper are to point out the role of the body weight index and of the adjacent parameters as well as the role of the kinetic therapy in the recovery of the patients diagnosed with coxarthritis. Methodes. The current trial was carried in the outpatient department throughout the year 2016 on a number of 74 patients with the age over 50. According to the medical guides, the recovery means were represented by the medication treatment, electrical therapy, decontracturing massage, kinetic therapy . Results. The results for VAS scale were statistically significant for both groups and for all the evaluation moments. For the pain, rigidity and physical dysfunction parameters (WOMAC scale), the obtained results for both groups and for all the evaluation moments are statistically significant. Conclusions. The complex treatment enabled the increase in the joint mobility at the level of the knock knee joints, by providing with steadiness, balance and the recovery of the walk. The body weight index and the nutritional status are elements that might influence the recovery of the patients diagnosed with coxarthritis; therefore, they are parameters that must be taken into account within the complex recovery programme. Objective: The trial proposes the evaluation of an efficient kinetic programme supported by hygiene and diet for the patients with degenerative diseases at the level of the joints. Material and method: The trial was carried out under ambulatory conditions for a period of six months and it included two lots of patients diagnosed with degenerative diseases at the level of the hips and of the knees. They used a complex physical kinetic therapeutic treatment supported by a diet. The lots were evaluated according to the pain scale VAS, to the scale WOMAC, to the quality of life index QOL and to the body weight index BMI. The family's involvement was also monitored during the patients' recovery period. The results pointed out that the patients who had followed a complex physical kinetic therapeutic treatment and a diet had significantly better results in comparison to the ones who did not follow the indications of the diet. It was noticed that some patients abandoned the physical exercises, predominantly the women. Conclusions: The complex recovery treatment depends on a complex team: the physician, the physio-kinetic therapist, the nutritionist, the dietetician and the psychologist. The profilaxy of these diseases is very important and the treatment has to be individualised. It was noticed that the motivation and the education were defining elements for the recovery. Introduction. Vertebral balance disorders are a health problem for children in general, with long-term consequences. Having in view that the number of new cases with this condition has increased, it is mandatory to introduce health programs and it is useful to perform a screening for vertebral balance disorders by groups of age (pre-puberty, puberty, teenage). The objective of the study was to assess the functional status of the child aged 10-12 years and to elaborate the prophylaxis/ treatment program. The purpose was to draw the attention on the prevalence of vertebral balance disorders in young people, with possible consequences in adult age. Material and method. The study was performed for a period of 1 year and included 86 children. After the clinical, anthropometric and somatoscopic evaluation, the recovery plan was designed, as well as the prophylaxis for certain cases. The purpose was to create the right posture reflex, to tone up the paravertebral and abdominal muscles, to increase the joint mobility and to fight obesity. The kinetic program was performed 3 times/week, 30 minutes/session. All children participated in a therapeutic swimming session every week. Results. It was found in the study group that over 51% were girls, around 30.23% of children were diagnosed with scoliotic attitude, 44.19% with kyphotic attitude and about 25.58% had a normal postural attitude. Conclusions. The used kinetotherapy program (on land and in water) showed the improvement of the general alignment, the ability of focusing and the adaptation to the school activities. The existence of a multidisciplinary team ensuring the recovery program is an effective method by which the beneficial results can be obtained for the health condition of this age group. Introduction. Osteoarthritis, which is a cause of chronic pain and disability with manifestation in any joint, with greater frequency in the joints of the lower limbs, upper limbs, but also at the spine level, affects around 250 million people in the entire world. This condition affects around 10% of the global population (18) and has an impressive impact on people, as it is one of the first 5 causes of disability. Material and method. The objectives of the treatment made by the patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis were: pain reduction, increased joint amplitude, increased muscle strength, increased muscle tone, increased quality of life and reintegration into the family and social environment. In the study, there were discussed demographic data regarding the patients. In order to assess the pain parameter, the VAS scale was used, as well as WOMAC subscales. To assess the quality of life of patients with knee osteoarthritis, the QOL scale (Quality of Life) was used. Anxiety was assessed with the help of a test that comprises the evaluation of symptoms at the cognitive, behavioral and physical level. Results and discussions. The pain was evaluated on the VAS scale, having a statistically significant evolution for the evaluation moments. Also with the help of the WOMAC index, two other parameters were evaluated, namely joint rigidity and functional capacity, the results being statistically significant in the 3 evaluation moments. The patients' anxiety was evaluated with the help of the anxiety test; the results obtained were statistically significant at the 3 evaluation moments. Conclusions. It is vital that the recovery treatment in osteoarthritis be individualized and adapted to the age group. In our group, it enabled the reduction of pain and anxiety, the increase of the functional capacity and the quality of the patients' lives. Taking into account the fact that the most affected group in the study group was the active professional one, we can evaluate the size of the recovery and the social, family and professional integration for these patients. Introduction. In the prepubertal period, structural and functional mismatches are recorded, with changes in the bone structure and poor muscle development. There are also changes in the development with the emergence of growth disorders, causing postural deficiencies but also affecting the functions of the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive and nervous system. One of the most serious deficiencies is scoliosis characterized by postural deficiency and muscular hypotonia. The aim of the research is to select the most effective means of therapeutic swimming in order to prevent scoliosis in the "C" left in children in the prepubertal period. Materials and methods. The study evaluated the factors involved in the scoliosis emergence and analyzed somatoscopically and somatofunctionally children in the prepubertal age group who have a tendency to install wrong posture attitudes, namely the scoliosis left in C, which is the most common. A number of 23 children aged 8-11 who could not swim were surveyed. The children were divided into two groups: the group 1, consisting of 12 children to whom were applied kinetic means and also dry - kinetic therapy, and the group 2 of 11 children, to whom were additionally applied therapeutic swimming methods in order to maintain an optimal morpho-functional status. Thus, the waist, the weight, the body weight index, the fingers-soil index and the lateral inclination index were assessed. The functional indicators were also assessed: respiratory and cardiac frequency at rest and in efforts. Results and discussions - The obtained results show the efficiency of the complex program that includes kinetotherapy and therapeutic swimming, as well as its role in the prophylaxis of installing vicious attitudes in this category of children. The respiratory and cardiac functions were improved, as well as the somatic indicators. The following procedures were used to swim: crack, bras, back. Conclusions The kinetotherapeutic treatment together with therapeutic swimming methods allowed the improvement of the somatic and functional parameters. The therapeutic swimming has proved its efficiency in prophylaxis, maintaining or correcting scoliotic attitudes in pre-pubertal children. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
