window ,dowel ,slot ,pvac adhesive ,pine ,Forestry ,SD1-669.5 - Abstract
In the article, the effect of the surface on the strength of the corner joint on the window was analyzed. The corner joint on the window is made in the variant with double and triple dowel and slot using PVaC adhesive. Samples were made from pine tree (Pinus Nigra). For research purposes, a special holder was made for the samples to enable testing according to the EN514:2018 standard method. The aim of the work is to determine the influence of the connection element on the strength of the corner joint of the window when using PVaC glue. The samples were divided into 2 groups of 30 samples each, depending on the number of dowels. The standard methods of statistical analysis were used. The test showed that the connection with triple dowel and slot has higher breaking strength values compared to double dowel and slot.

I., Teruel-Juanes R., and D. public procurement of innovation ,energy efficiency ,green growth - Abstract
This document provides brief information on implemented Public Procurement of Innovation (PPI) process starting from needs analysis to results of implemented innovation in four partner countries: Croatia, Spain, Italy and Portugal. Most of the PPI process is already documented in "Deliverable 3.4.1 Innovation Procurement Procedure Selection Report". That deliverable was completed in May 2018, before the beginning of any of four national tenders which in 2019 and 2020 resulted with innovative investments. While it covers majority of PPI process carried out in all four countries such as needs identification, market sounding and open market consultation, it lacks the description of final phases of PPI process such as the selection of the procedure, the tendering (public procurement procedures) and finally the implementation of innovative solution., Prominent MED project (Public Procurement of Innovation Boosting Green Growth in the MED area, 1MED15-1.1-M12-070) Interreg Mediterranean, Project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. public procurement of innovation ,energy efficiency ,green growth - Abstract
The aim of this document is to illustrate with four case studies the key steps to design and implement an innovation procurement process. These demonstration sites will exemplify the process to follow and the pitfalls to avoid. Four municipalities involved in PROMINENT-MED launched PPI for the renovation of their public building: The municipality of Alzira in Spain: the pilot project focuses on the refurbishment of an old (1891) orange storage building (“magatzem de cucó”); The municipality of Koprivnica in Croatia: the pilot project involves the energy efficient renovation of a prefabricated kindergarten building. The municipality of Mértola: the pilot project concerns the renovation of the city hall that also hosts the Roman part of Mértola’s museum. The municipality of Narni in Italy: the pilot case is applied for the refurbishment of a kindergarten hosting children from 6 to 36 months. The organisation of each municipality and the continuity of each pilot project, from needs identification to the assessment of the project performance, will be presented to show how small municipalities prepared and implemented PPI. This guidance will present the following steps in the public procurement of innovation process: Needs identification and assessment; Market engagement; The business case PPI broker / external facilitator Open market consultation, Prominent MED project (Public Procurement of Innovation Boosting Green Growth in the MED area, 1MED15-1.1-M12-070) Interreg Mediterranean, Project co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. Mucopolysaccharidosis type II or Hunter syndrome is a hereditary, progressive disease that occurs due to the deposition of acidic glucosaminoglycans in lysosomes, due to hereditary deficits of specific degradation enzymes. A two-year-old boy was hospitalized and diagnosed with macrocephaly, hepatomegaly and at the age of four, an iduronate 2-sulfatase (IDS) gene analysis was performed and a mutation on the 3rd exon (c.262C>T, p.R88C) on the X chromosome was determined. Only four years after the diagnosis of Hunter syndrome, the boy begins to receive enzyme therapy - the drug Elaprase. During the period of receiving therapy, the boy's progression of the disease was significantly reduced.

Background/Aim. Liver damage, with potentially serious consequences, is not uncommon in hospitalized cardiac patients. The aim of our study was to determine the risk factor profile for liver damage in patients hospitalized from a deterioration of their acute or chronic cardiac illness. Methods. The study had observational case-control design with retrospective data collections from medical files of adult patients hospitalized in a tertiary health care center. The cases (n = 140) were subjects with novel liver injury (which emerged during hospital stay) and three control subjects were matched (age, date) for each case subject (n = 420). The primary outcome was hepatotoxicity (present or absent) and independent variables were proposed risk factors. Statistical analysis included descriptive methods, hypothesis testing and univariate and multivariate binary logistic regression, with p ≤ 0.05. Results. In the whole study population, there were 432 (77.1%) females and the mean age of patients was 64.1 years [standard deviation (SD) = 10.7, range 24–85 years]. The most common illnesses were coronary heart disease (n = 385), hypertension (n = 334) and arrhythmia (n = 115). Mean value of Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI) score was 3.8 (SD=1.7; range 1-10) corresponding to estimated CCI 10-years survival rate of 54.4% (SD = 33.5%). In the group of cases, 114 (81.4%) of the patients had hepatocellular, 9 (6.4%) cholestatic and 17 (12.2%) mixed type of hepatic injury. Factors independently associated with hepatotoxic event were previous occasional alcohol intake odds ratio (OR) 96.47; 95% confidence interval (CI) 28.95–321.43; p < 0.001), amiodarone (OR 3.70; 95% CI 1.82–7.53; p < 0.001), enoxaparin (OR 3.29; 95% CI 1.79–6.05; p < 0.001), obesity (OR 2.78; 95% CI 1.15– 6.71; p < 0.023), atorvastatin (OR 2.67; 95% CI 1.33–5.38; p < 0.006) and CCI total score (OR 1.89; 95% CI 1.53–2.34; p < 0.001). Conclusion. Major factors associated with acute liver damage in patients hospitalized in cardiology ward of a tertiary health care institution were patient’s constitutional and habitual characteristics (occasional alcohol intake, obesity, CCI total score) and drugs with known hepatotoxic properties (amiodarone, enoxaparin, atorvastatin).

Upon the adoption of Resolution 1244 (1999), the United Nations Interim Administration (UNMIK) gained the status of the guardian of state owned and societal property of the Republic of Serbia in the territory of the Autonomous Province (AP) of Kosovo and Metohija. For the purpose of this paper, the authors focus on certain regulations issued by the UNMIK administration that were the basis for the creation of a quasi-legal system in the territory of the AP Kosovo and Metohija. However, by adopting Regulations with the force of law, the UNMIK or the UN Secretary-General's Special Representative unilaterally abrogated the formerly existing legal system, thus creating conditions for the establishment of a quasi-legal system independent of the legal system of the Republic of Serbia. UNMIK/REG/1999/24 resulted in the reincarnation of the SFRY-era legal acts. Regulation no. 1999/24 was a guideline in further legal design and normalization of a quasi-legal system in the territory of the AP Kosovo and Metohija. The authors also pay special attention to the Law No. 05/L-079 on Strategic Investments, adopted by the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government of the AP Kosovo and Metohija. The significance of the said legislative act is that it is one in a series of acts that brought about changes in the property law regime concerning state-owned and socially-owned immovable property. However, the full implementation of this Law was facilitated at the time by the adoption of Decision no. 06/134, which provided that all real estate registered in the name of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia or the Republic of Yugoslavia, the Socialist Republic of Serbia or the Republic of Serbia and the Socialist Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija was to be registered in the name of the Provisional Institutions of Self-Government of the AP Kosovo and Metohija as the owner of the immovable property.

Introduction/Objective. Pain is a disturbing experience associated with existing or potential tissue damage, with a sensory, emotional, cognitive, and social component. The aim of this study was to show the efficiency of regional anesthetic techniques in postoperative pain in children. Methods. The retrospective cohort study was conducted on a group of 564 pediatric patients during the period from 2013 to 2016. Types of regional anesthesia were classified into the following six groups: caudal, epidural, spinal block, upper limb blocks, lower limb blocks, and truncal nerve block. From statistical methods, we used descriptive statistical methods of absolute and relative numbers, measurements of variability, central tendencies for numerical features, and methods of inferential statistics. We used the χ2 test for the attributive features of observations. Results. In relation to the postoperative time when an analgesic was required, a statistically significant difference was observed in the age of children (p = 0.000), disease diagnosis (p = 0.000), type of block (p = 0.000), type of local anesthetic (p = 0.000), and type of anesthesia or sedation preoperatively (p = 0.005). Conclusion. Postoperative analgesia was most needed by older children and children who were awake during surgery. Children with injuries and tumors need postoperative analgesia the earliest. The longest postoperative analgesia was recorded in patients who received caudal block. The longest postoperative analgesia can be seen in patients who received levobupivacaine, bupivacaine or levobupivacaine combined with lidocaine to perform the block.

Introduction Tooth and other oral tissue damage can occur at any time of life. Traumatic extraction is a complex traumatic injury characterized by complete dislodgement of the tooth from its alveolus. The diagnosis of traumatically injured teeth includes X-rays and a detailed clinical examination. Case report A twelve-year-old boy reported at the dental clinic of the Faculty of Medicine due to the injury in the anterior maxillary region. It was a sport injury. The time elapsed since the accident was 2 hours and 20 minutes. According to the clinical examination and X-rays the diagnosis was: The teeth 11 and 21 - Complete traumatic dental avulsion and fracture; 22- Hypodontia and chin contusion and laceration. The teeth were brought in physiological solution. After applying local anesthetic, soft tissue was cleaned, the teeth positioned back in their alveoli and an immobilizing splint of fiberglass fibers placed. The patient was administered antibiotics and recommended tetanus prophylaxis. Seven days after the injury, teeth were treated endodontically. After one month, the immobilizing splint was removed. The tooth 21 was definitely obturated and composite buildups were done on both teeth. Calcium hydroxide dressing was left in the canal of the tooth 11. One month and 3 weeks after the injury, a fistula appeared above the tooth 11, and the treatment was finally completed after seven months. Conclusion Traumatic tooth injuries, of any kind, require urgent treatment as time loss usually reduces chances for successful treatment. One year after the injury, the patient had no symptoms and the result was functional and aesthetically acceptable.

Introduction. Myocardial infarction (MI) is characterized by a critical myocardial ischemia followed by an irreversible myocardial cell damage or death. Case report. We presented two similar clinical cases with the ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) diagnosis due to a prolonged coronary artery spasm, but with different treatment options due to different basic patophysiological supstrates and clinical presentations. Conclusion. Coronary artery spasm is a very complex pathophysiological entity with a different medication therapy management. Although the percutaneous coronary intervention can be the first choice, the treatment strategy should be carefully planned

Impacted tooth is a tooth that has failed to reach occlusal plane, with 2/3 of completed root growth. There are various reasons for teeth impaction, however, lack of space for its emergence is considered to be the main reason. The most commonly impacted teeth are lower wisdom teeth, then upper wisdom teeth, upper canines, and less frequently lower premolars. There are only few studies that have addressed the issue of impacted lower premolars, their etiology, prevalence and treatment. The patient (22 years old) visited orthodontst for the lower jaw aesthetic teeth corrections, due to crowding. Ortopantomography analysis revealed impacted lower right second premolar that caused resorption of mesial root of the first molar. The treatment plan included tooth #46 extraction and placing orthodontic brackets on the impacted second premolar. The next step was extrusion of the tooth #45, its introduction to occlusal plane and orthodontic treatment resumption. Orthodontic treatment of impacted teeth with fixed orthodontic appliance provides excellent therapeutic results. The treatment success depends primarily on adequate planning, cooperation and joint work of oral surgery and orthodontic specialists.

Introduction. The anterior and middle superior alveolar nerve block was claimed to be unpredictably efficient for clinical application. Objective. The aim of this report was to establish the efficacy of the anterior and middle superior alveolar nerve block, applied with a computer-controlled injection system or a conventional syringe, for upper premolars extraction. Methods. Sixty healthy adults were divided into two groups regarding the device used as follows: the first group was injected by a computer-controlled injection system, and the second group by a conventional syringe. Pain ratings were obtained via a visual analog scale (VAS) and a verbal rating scale (VRS). Results. Anterior and middle superior alveolar injection enabled a painless extraction in all patients, regardless of the local anesthetic or injection system used. It was slightly less painful when administered by a computer-controlled injection system, but insignificantly when evaluated by VRS. Conclusion. The anterior and middle superior alveolar nerve block may be recommended if maxillary permanent premolars have to be extracted.
