The research project entitled Social representations by the Xucuru-Kariri Ethnicity: Curriculum contributions to Mathematics is being developed at a state public university in Alagoas, it aims to analyze the social representations of Mathematics by students of the Xucuru-Kariri and their relationship with the curriculum planning. The theoretical framework to be followed is the Theory of Social Representations (MOSCOVICI, 1961) with a focus on Jodelet's (1994) psychosocial approach, data collection will be carried out using the technique of free association of words, and the analysis will be done through SPSS and Tri-Deux-Mots. Social representations are guides for communication and for action and their relationship with planning, aims to include in their curricula, students' desires and knowledge in Mathematics. The results of this research aim to provide data on the set of concepts, propositions, explanations created in the daily lives of students through inter-individual communication about Mathematics. O projeto de pesquisa intitulado Representações sociais pelos povos Xucuru-Kariri: Contributos curriculares para a Matemática está sendo desenvolvido em uma Universidade pública estadual de Alagoas, tem como objetivo analisar as representações sociais de Matemática pelos alunos da etnia Xucuru-Kariri e sua relação com o planejamento curricular. O referencial teórico a ser seguido é o da Teoria das Representações Sociais (MOSCOVICI, 1961) com foco na abordagem psicossocial de Jodelet (1994), a coleta de dados será realizada através da técnica de associação livre de palavras, e a análise será feita através do SPSS e Tri-Deux-Mots. As representações sociais são guias para comunicaçao e para ação e sua relação com o planejamento, visa contemplar em seus currículos, os anseios e saberes em Matemática dos alunos. Os resultados desta pesquisa visam fornecer dados sobre o conjunto de conceitos, proposições, explicações criados na vida cotidiana dos alunos através da comunicação interindividual sobre a Matemática.

The objectives of this study were to genotype single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) AF159246:g.2959A>G (CAST/DdeI) and AF248054.2:g.6545C>T (CAPN4751) in beef cattle by PCR-RFLP (Polymerase Chain Reaction - Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism), using the restriction enzyme DdeI for both SNP, and describe the use of these genotyping methodologies for the first time. For the SNP located in the CAST gene, new primers were designed, and for the SNP of the CAPN1 gene, the same primers previously described in the literature were used. Bonsmara, Caracu, Senepol, Nelore, and Angus bulls were chosen from among the most used bulls in breeding programs according to their genealogy and the lowest possible degree of parentage between them to ensure an experimental sample representative of the genetic variability in each breed. For the CAST and CAPN1 genes, respectively, the following number of animals were analyzed: Bonsmara (n = 25/22), Caracu (n = 25/26), Senepol (n = 25/24), Nelore (n = 26/26), and Angus (n = 25/24). The accuracy of these methodologies was confirmed by direct sequencing of PCR products generated for the two polymorphisms. The new primers developed for CAST/DdeI SNP detection and the use of DdeI enzyme for CAPN4751 SNP detection were effective in genotyping, since no inconclusive genotypes were observed for these genes. Thus, the genotyping of beef cattle using the PCR-RFLP technique for CAST and CAPN1 genes is robust, relatively inexpensive, and easy to perform in any basic molecular biology laboratory. If the association of these markers with traits of economic interest in beef cattle is confirmed in new studies, these methodologies may contribute to the selection of animals with superior genetics, i.e., with the potential to produce better-quality meat, either by marker-assisted selection or by the inclusion of these polymorphisms in high-density marker panels. SUMMARY: Recently, there has been increased interest in the use of natural jaws for better results in bone fixation studies. Thus, the sheep mandible has been chosen for such studies. The aim of this study was to evaluate the length and resistance of the sheep mandible when submitted to a compression test with freedom in the three axes of space. Seventy fresh sheep (Ovis aries) mandibles were used in this study. Initially, the soft tissues were removed, and measurements of the mandible size were performed. Fifty mandibles were selected for mechanical testing based on the mean values from this assessment. The mandibles were joined by fixation in the symphyseal region and were tridimensionally deformed. A metallic support suitable for study of the mandible under efforts with freedom in the three axes in space was used. For this test, three displacement cycles were applied. Based on the mean stiffness, 35 mandibles were selected. The mean value of the sheep mandible mensuration was 13.6 cm ± 0.53 cm. The mean value of the sheep mandible stiffness was 153.5N ± 54.0 N. These data are useful for future studies on fixation systems for fractures and orthognathic surgery. RESUMEN: Recientemente, ha aumentado el interés en el uso de mandíbulas naturales para obtener mejores resultados en estudios de fijación ósea. Por lo tanto, la mandíbula de las ovejas se ha elegido para tales estudios. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la longitud y la resistencia de la mandíbula de oveja al ser sometida a una prueba de compresión con libertad en los tres ejes del espacio. Se utilizaron 70 mandíbulas de oveja fresca (Ovis aries). Inicialmente, se extirparon los tejidos blandos y se realizaron mediciones del tamaño de la mandíbula. Cincuenta mandíbulas fueron seleccionadas para pruebas mecánicas basadas en los valores promedio de esta evaluación. Las mandíbulas se unieron por fijación en la región sinfisial y se deformaron tridimensionalmente. Se utilizó un soporte metálico adecuado para el estudio de la mandíbula bajo esfuerzos con libertad en los tres ejes en el espacio. Para esta prueba, se aplicaron tres ciclos de desplazamiento. En base a la rigidez media, se seleccionaron 35 mandíbulas. El valor medio de la medición de la mandíbula de oveja fue de 13,6 cm ± 0,53 cm. El valor medio de la rigidez de la mandíbula de oveja fue 153,5 N ± 54,0 N. Estos datos son útiles para futuros estudios sobre sistemas de fijación para fracturas y cirugía ortognática.

Purpose: To evaluate the immediate microshear resin-enamel bond strength ( μ SBS) and the immediate and 6- month microtensile bond strength ( μ TBS) and nanoleakage (NL) of the adhesive interface performed by di ff erent pHs of 40% meta-phosphoric acid (MPA) were compared with conventional 37% ortho-phosphoric acid (OPA) under di ff erent application times. Additionally, the enamel etching patterns were evaluated and the chemical/ morphological changes induced by these di ff erents groups were evaluated. Materials and methods: One hundred and ninety-eight extracted human molars were randomly assigned into experimental groups according to the combination of independent variables: Acid [37% ortho-phosphoric acid (OPA), 40% meta-phosphoric acid (MPA) at pHs of: 0.5, 1 and 2] and Application Time [7, 15 and 30 s]. Enamel- bond specimens were prepared and tested under μ SBS. Resin-dentin beams were tested under μ TBS tested im- mediately or after 6-months of water storage. Nanoleakage was evaluated using bonded-beams of each tooth/ time-period. Enamel etching pattern and chemical and ultra-morphology analyses were also performed. The μ SBS (MPa) data were subjected to a two-way repeated measures ANOVA (Acid vs. Application time). For μ TBS, Acid vs application time vs storage time data were subjected to three-way ANOVA and Tukey's test ( α = 0.05). Results: MPA pH 0.5 showed μ TBS similar to OPA, independently of the application time on enamel (p > 0.05) or dentin (p > 0.05). OPA provided higher nanoleakage values than MPA (p = 0.003). Signi fi cant decreases in TBS and increases in NL were only observed for OPA after 6 months (p = 0.001). An increase in the application time resulted in a more pronounced etching pattern for MPA. Chemical analysis showed that dentin deminer- alized by MPA depicted peaks of brushite and octacalcium phosphate. MPA exposed less collagen than OPA. However, optimal results for MPA were dependent on pH/application time. Conclusion: The use of 40% meta-phosphoric acid with a pH of 0.5 is an alternative acid-etching agent for dentin and enamel bonding. Furthermore, the use of MPA preserves the resin-dentin interface over a 6-months period, due to presence of brushite and octacalcium phosphate and a reduced demineralization pattern.

Dessa forma, pensando que o funk é um veículo que dá voz a uma minoria que está à margem social, esta pesquisa objetiva analisar nas letras de algumas músicas de funk como é feita a representação da cultura funk e das favelas. Para tal intento, nos filiamos à abordagem sociocognitiva de van Dijk (2012a; 2012b; 2010c), que trabalha a noção de contexto como um tipo de modelo mental. Assim, analisaremos quais estruturas contextuais (cenário, participantes, ações, cognição pessoal e social) e textuais (semântica local: Evidencialidade, metáforas, léxico; semântica global: auto apresentação positiva, outro apresentação negativa; Dispositivos retóricos: eufemismo, ironia, antítese; sintaxe oracional) se evidenciam nas letras fazendo a representação da cultura, das crenças, das experiências de vida desse grupo em particular por meio de seus modelos de contexto específicos. Além disso, utilizaremos a noção básica da teoria da representação social dos atores discursivos de van Leeuwen (1997). Lançaremos mão, também, dos estudos sobre o funk, dos autores: Herschmann (2005) e Vianna (1987; 1990). Entre tantos elementos culturais que servem de base para análise de um determinado grupo, no nosso entendimento, este trabalho se justifica por que as letras desse estilo musical se constituem um desses meios que fazem a representação dos adeptos do funk e das favelas. Envolvemo-nos com o GEDIM (Grupo de Estudos do Discurso Midiático) que trabalha questões de mídia, relacionadas às minorias sociais. Como a mídia, de modo geral, faz representações de diversos grupos sociais e, em muitos casos, elas não correspondem à realidade vivenciada no intragrupo, participar desse grupo de pesquisa permitiu-me ver como há o controle discursivo por parte das elites simbólicas. Sendo assim, essa é mais uma justificativa para que se esta pesquisa tenha andamento, pois, indo na contramão da visão estereotipada que a sociedade tem do funk e das favelas, queremos verificar como as letras fazem essa representação. Nossa pesquisa é qualitativa analítica/interpretativa. Depois de formulado nosso problema, selecionamos no site www.letras.mus as músicas de funk cadastradas. Das 5.776 músicas encontradas, correspondentes a aproximadamente 274 cantores, selecionamos 11 músicas que falam sobre o funk e sobre as favelas. Logo, os resultados que esperamos encontrar são evidencias discursivas que representem política e socialmente a cultura funk e as favelas, a partir das críticas que fazem em relação ao sistema social, político e econômico do Brasil. Traditionally, the information about human mobility behav- ior, called diary, is acquired from volunteers by means of paper-and- pencil surveys. These diaries, representing the mobile activities of indi- viduals, are semantically rich, but lack in spatial and temporal precision. An alternative way is collecting diaries by annotating with activities the GPS tracks of individuals. This is more accurate from a spatio-temporal point of view, but the manual annotation becomes a burdensome work for the user. The tool we propose, called DayTag, is designed as a per- sonal assistant to help an individual to reconstruct her/his diary from the GPS tracks collected by a smartphone. The user interacts through the software to visualize and annotate the trajectories, thus resulting in a simple way to get user diaries.

Para tanto, partimos da compreensão de cultura como uma teia de significados transmitidos historicamente que se utiliza de símbolos como meio de comunicação entre os homens, perpetuando e ampliando seus conhecimentos e suas atividades perante a vida (GEERTZ, 1989) e neste emaranhado de significados podemos encontrar a cultura lúdica, que por sua vez está a expressão humana de significados da/ na cultura referenciada no brincar consigo mesmo, com o outro e com o contexto (GOMES apud GOMES, 2004).. Buscando atingir a proposta deste estudo, realizamos um levantamento da memória produzida sobre o lugar, a história da cultura lúdica da Vila de Itaúnas e como essa cultura lúdica vem sendo apresentada atualmente na vida dos moradores da vila em seis incursões etnográficas à vila, contando com a contribuição dos moradores que chegaram a residir na antiga vila, habitantes e investidores que auxiliaram a construção da nova vila. Além disso, tomamos o conceito de cultura lúdica para compreender esquemas de comportamento que permitem iniciar a brincadeira entendendo que as práticas de divertimento são um dos principais meios de que a sociedade dispõe para estreitar seus laços coletivos e se sentir unida. Diante destes pressupostos teóricos, combinamos os dados advindos da observação direta nos momentos de incursão à vila, das memórias dos moradores mais antigos e de grande representatividade, além da pesquisa de informações associadas à vila em dois momentos que compõem a cultura lúdica local: o forró, simbolizado pelo Festival Nacional do Forró de Itaúnas (FENFIT), e as Festas de São Benedito e São Sebastião, com as apresentações das Referências Culturais. Os dados da pesquisa nos revelaram que Itaúnas se apresentou como um palco diversificado e extremamente atrativo, pois os usos estabelecem a vila como lugar. Assim, percebemos que o espaço da Vila de Itaúnas é um lugar diferente para quem vive as Referências Culturais ou as atividades ligadas à Indústria Cultural do forró, um lugar distinto para aqueles que desde que nasceram habitam em Itaúnas, para aqueles que saíram e retornaram, para aqueles que vieram a habitar a vila e para aqueles que por ali passam. Desta forma, a Vila de Itaúnas pode ser considerada um espaço que, ao ser significado, se constitui numerosos lugares devido às suas inúmeras possibilidades de usos, fluxos e fronteiras que denotam a hibridez contida na rede da cultura lúdica local, viva na memória dos nativos, estrangeiros e turistas que significam a vila. Logo, Itaúnas é um lugar significado pelo forró, mas também significado pelas práticas das Referências Culturais. Assim sendo, a vila é constituída por ambos imbricados, hibridados, com seus fluxos, contra-fluxos, usos e contra-usos e fronteiras maleáveis, permeados pelas questões políticas e sociais em envolvem a Vila de Itaúnas.

Meat quality is an important trait for the beef industry. Backfat thickness, ribeye area, and shear force are traits measured late in life, and the investigation of molecular markers associated with these traits can help breeding programs. In cattle, some polymorphisms have been related to production traits. Thus, the purpose of this study was to assess the presence of polymorphisms in the candidate genes insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1), fatty acid-binding protein 4 (FABP4), and peroxisome proliferative active receptor gamma coactivator 1 A (PPARGC1A) and associate them with production traits in reference families of Nelore cattle. We used 270 steers descendent from 20 sires that were chosen to represent variability in this breed. The investigation of marker effects on the traits was performed using a mixed model under the restricted maximum likelihood method. A significant allele substitution effect was found for IGF1 and yearling weight (P ≤ 0.017). Os bovinos podem ser classificados em dois grandes grupos de acordo com sua origem e distribuição geográfica: o grupo Bos taurus, representado pelos bovinos europeus, e o Bos indicus ou zebuíno, que vive nas regiões tropicais. O rebanho brasileiro é constituído principalmente por raças zebuínas, das quais predomina a raça Nelore. Os mamíferos possuem, além do genoma nuclear, um genoma citoplasmático encontrado nas mitocôndrias, o DNA mitocondrial (mtDNA), que apresenta herança exclusivamente materna. Há relatos que os polimorfismos no mtDNA podem afetar a adaptação das raças bovinas a condições ambientais distintas bem como a produção animal. Provavelmente a maioria da população brasileira de animais da raça Nelore foi obtida por retrocruzamentos de vacas nativas com touros zebuínos e, portanto, abrigam mtDNA de origem Bos taurus. O objetivo deste estudo foi caracterizar o haplótipo do mtDNA de uma amostra de touros cujas genealogias são representativas das principais linhagens da raça Nelore. A investigação do haplótipo do mtDNA (Bos taurus ou Bos indicus) foi realizada por meio de PCR alelo-específica para amplificação de uma região 366 pb do gene rRNA 16S de mtDNA, no qual um polimorfismo diferencia mtDNA Bos taurus e Bos indicus. Observou-se, nesta amostragem, 76,66% dos animais com mtDNA de origem Bos taurus. Estes resultados reforçam a hipótese de que a formação da raça Nelore no Brasil provavelmente resultou do cruzamento absorvente de touros Bos indicus com matrizes Bos taurus.
