Education in automotive vocational high schools faces challenges in improving the quality of learning. This article discusses efforts to improve the quality of learning in automotive vocational schools through the implementation of electronic teaching materials. The implementation of technology in learning is an important solution in today's digital era. This article describes the advantages of using electronic teaching materials, such as flexibility, accessibility, and ease of content updates. This research involves collaboration between teachers, students, and technology experts to create relevant and interesting teaching materials. In addition, electronic teaching materials allow for more personalized learning adaptations, assist students with special needs, and facilitate distance learning. The results show that the implementation of electronic teaching materials in automotive vocational schools has a positive impact on learning, increasing students' motivation, expanding their knowledge, preparing students to enter the industrial world, and improving practical skills in the automotive field. Teachers also reported increased efficiency in the teaching process. The level of practicality of using electronic teaching materials reached 86.5%, with responses indicating that electronic teaching materials are very helpful in the learning.

Recent studies claimed that the absence of a paradigm is a challenge to developing education for sustainable development and soft skills competencies. This integrative study examines stimulating these transferable and transversal competencies through constructivist approaches to teaching from the cognitive, social, radical, and critical perspectives. The study argues that the use of constructivist approaches to teaching can contribute to the achievement of education for sustainable development and soft skills competencies through the delegation of power from teachers/lecturers to students. This, in active and interactive classrooms, empowers students and builds their confidence to develop on the personal, academic, and professional levels. The use of the cognitive constructivist approach assists in developing competencies based on a clear understanding of the cognitive structures of students in a vibrant classroom environment. The use of the social constructivist approach assists in constructing individualized learning environment based on predetermined zones of proximal development in sociocultural contexts. The radical and critical constructivist approaches to teaching, through the rejection of conventional epistemologies, allow students the freedom to creatively address issues related to environmental, economic, and social sustainability. This becomes effective through the fostering of self and social awareness, challenging existing ideas, and provoking innovative thoughts that are necessary to shape a sustainable future.

The study of the role of the pedagogy of partnership (PoP) in building the professional competence of future primary school teachers is relevant in the context of modern educational and pedagogical transformations, which require the preparation of teachers for new challenges and creating a favourable learning environment. Therefore, the aim of our study was to check the effect of observing the pedagogical partnership principles in the educational process on the development of the communicative competence of future primary school teachers. The study employed the following psychodiagnostic methods: the Thomas-Kilmann conflict mode instrument (TKI), Myers-Briggs type indicator (MBTI), Snyder's self-control in communication. The implementation of the PoP programme in higher education institutions (HEIs) has a positive effect on the development of the communicative competence of future teachers, in particular, on developing the ability for self-control and increasing the scope of psychological knowledge. The study revealed some important correlations. Our results indicate that cooperation and the ability to make compromises are directly related to the communicative abilities of future teachers. Further research can be focused on studying the impact of pedagogical partnership on other aspects of future teacher training, such as methodical mastery, motivation for learning and development.

The student exchange programs are venues for learning opportunities by offering multicultural contexts. This study reports on the experiences of ten prospective English language teachers in a virtual student exchange program to investigate likely skill development in a multicultural and open and distance learning setting. This descriptive study used the qualitative method. The textual data were elicited through eighty reflective essays written by the participants. Virtual classroom observations and WhatsApp chat data ensured data triangulation. The results revealed the themes as developed learning and life skills and enhanced internal gains. It was found that internal outcomes, such as self-confidence, empathy, and self-reliance, were enhanced rather than external gains. One of the limitations of this study was the brevity of the exchange program, which lasted only eight days. Additionally, the current study is a small-scale study, which limits the generalizability of the results. Last but not least, only two participants placed in the researcher's class were observed. The study poses a few implications for education policymakers, curriculum developers, and teachers. In light of the results, it is posed that adding a multicultural aspect to the teacher training curriculum is imperative for teacher empowerment. Though the literature on student exchange reports findings on the gains and challenges, there is a scarcity of studies delving into what skills students develop and how with vivid examples. In this respect, this study adds to the relevant literature.

This study aims to determine the effect of using STEAM digital teaching materials on increasing creative problem-solving skills. This study has a quasi-experimental research design with a nonequivalent control group. This study employed a random sampling technique and obtained Class 8-F as the experimental class and Class 8-H as the control class. Data were collected using documentation, tests, and questionnaires. The data analysis carried out was a homogeneity test, normality test, t-test, n-gain test, and analysis of students' responses. According to this study, it can be concluded that there is an effect of STEAM digital teaching materials to increase creative problem-solving skills. The t-test results indicate a significant difference in students' average creative problem-solving skills in the experimental and control classes. The effect of STEAM digital teaching materials is proven by an increase in creative problem-solving skills, which are analyzed using N-gain, resulting in the high category (0.73) for the experimental class with STEAM digital teaching materials and the medium category (0.50) for the control class after using STEAM digital teaching materials.

Are high school students ready for their postgraduate education or a career that may not have been invented yet? As teachers focus on career prep and the necessary future-ready skills in the classroom, teachers are using technology to hone skills necessary for students' future success. Success in higher education or career pursuits requires students to develop a combination of technology through student-centered, project-based learning around the 4Cs (critical thinking/problem solving, communication, collaboration, and creativity/innovation). The literature on technology skills and 4C skills has historically focused on one set of skills or the other in isolation. This research addresses this gap in the literature by comparing the acquisition of the two skill sets to each other in the same (1:1 technology) environment. This is a mixed methods study using survey data collected from pre-service teachers in an education course. The study aims to understand what technology and 4C skills pre-service teachers who graduated from a 1:1 technology high school possess. The findings of this study showed that the respondents are more prepared and comfortable using their 4C skills than their technology skills. The potential implications of technology and 4C skills deficiencies and strengths on future teaching practices are discussed. technology) environment.

Social studies have been marginalized in early childhood education amid the prevalence of standardized testing and political issues. However, a comprehensive approach to early education, including social studies, is gaining attention. This article emphasizes the significance of incorporating social studies into early childhood curriculum, illuminating its potential to enhance children's cognitive and social-emotional development. The second important aspect of this article focuses on the role of social studies in literacy skill development through building background knowledge, critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills of young children.

Given the rapid advancement of modern information and communication technologies, as well as the increasing demand for distance and hybrid learning models, it is imperative that prospective teachers attain a high level of digital competence. This study aimed to determine how effective the technique of using Kahoot! to develop the digital competence of prospective primary school teachers. To diagnose the effectiveness of the developed methodology, testing was used which included various types of tasks and questionnaires in order to assess prospective primary school teachers' readiness to use digital tools in their professional activities. The results obtained (tcrit = 1.982) made it possible to conclude that utilizing Kahoot! interactive platform in prospective primary school teachers' professional training contributes to enhancing their digital competence. According to the findings, the gamified application Kahoot! contributes to students' study motivation, creates a favorable psychological atmosphere. A promising area for further research is to explore the prospective teachers' readiness to create multimedia products using state-of-the-art software iClone Pro, Toon Boom Harmony, Anime Studio Pro, etc.

This paper presents a participatory design-based research that aimed to create a model of co-creation in the curriculum in Technology-Enhanced Learning Environments (TELE) in tertiary education, specifically to co-design assessment between professors and students. This qualitative research followed four phases divided into five stages with two iterative cycles of design and re-design. Accordingly, a mixed method approach was used to collect the data: systematic literature review, semi-structured interviews, and student surveys. As a result, the model highlights and distinguishes four different dimensions: characterization, co-creation, reflection, and technology. The initial three dimensions are depicted in chronological order, while the fourth dimension is pervasive throughout all preceding stages. Furthermore, we depicted how technology is present throughout the co-creation process, delineating its role in each dimension distinctly. In conclusion, this model expands the basis of co-creation in the curriculum literature and provides tools for practitioners to innovate in their academic contexts, enabling student involvement in their own learning journey through co-creation. Further research in this field should be carried out, so we intend to apply this research to other fields of study and educational levels, contexts, and situations.

In a rapidly emerging world, knowledge management capabilities, including knowledge creation, acquisition, sharing, and utilization, become more critical for organizational change, growth, and competitiveness. Therefore, this article argues that organizations should consider implementing effective journal club meetings as an opportunity to acquire external knowledge, evaluate and integrate new knowledge into previous existing knowledge, and disseminate and utilize new knowledge to enhance product or service quality, innovation, and the performance of an organization. The article reviews relevant literature, proposes a framework for conducting effective journal club meetings, and aligns those activities with the knowledge management processes. The article proposes a framework for conducting effective journal club meetings and a process that integrates both journal club activities and the knowledge management process. By adopting this framework, journal club activities would be more effective in developing new knowledge management capabilities among individual members and enhancing organizational performance, i.e., implementing evidence-based practices (EBP), improving service quality, and producing research.

This research and development study aimed to develop the prototype of virtual learning implemented in flipped classrooms and evaluate its effectiveness as a tool for developing Thai undergraduates' English receptive skills. To assess if the designed prototype is effective, a quasi-experimental method was employed. The experimental sample group consisted of 40 undergraduates studying English as a required general education subject at a university in Thailand. They were purposively selected as their English proficiency level did not meet the university requirement of not lower than 600 of the TOEIC scores for graduation. The actual TOEIC tests as a pre- and post-tests, have been employed to examine if the prototype was effective. The collected data from pre- and post-tests were then analyzed through the t-Test and ANOVA. The results showed that the designed prototype applied in teaching and learning through the three online virtual platforms, namely Second Life, VRChat, and the ClassStart in the flipped classrooms was effective for developing students' English receptive skills, as the overall development of students' English receptive skills, both listening and reading, as shown from their post-test English TOEIC scores had significant development, showing that the post-test scores were higher than those of their pre-test's. Therefore, applying this prototype to language teaching and learning as a pedagogy is highly advised.

This study aimed to investigate grade-7 students' negotiation during the engineering design process regarding the students' status of argumentation training. The participants were 33 students studying at a public urban middle school in Turkey. They worked in small groups on four engineering design tasks about electricity and light. Data were collected through small group audio recordings, student worksheets, and the observation. The data were analyzed by using content analysis. The results indicated that negotiation patterns were similar across all groups. However, differences were found between the group that received argumentation training and the one that did not receive in terms of proposing ideas for material design, using justifications when in agreement with others, counter proposing and acquiring information for better planning and altering the design, and critiquing for design advantages and disadvantages.

A posttest-only control group experimental design compared novice Arduino programmers who developed their own programs (self-programming group, n = 17) with novice Arduino programmers who used ChatGPT 3.5 to write their programs (ChatGPT-programming group, n = 16) on the dependent variables of programming scores, interest in Arduino programming, Arduino programming self-efficacy, Arduino programming posttest scores, and types of programming errors. Students were undergraduates in an introductory agricultural systems technology course in Fall 2023. The results indicated no significant (p < 0.10) differences between groups for programming rubric scores (p = 0.50) or interest in Arduino programming (p = 0.50). There were significant differences for Arduino programming self-efficacy, (p = 0.03, Cohen's d = 0.75) and Arduino posttest scores, (p = 0.03, Cohen's d = 0.76); students in the self-programming group scored significantly higher on both measures. Analysis of students' errors indicated the ChatGPT group made significantly (p < 0.01) more program punctuation errors. These results indicated novice students writing their own programs developed greater Arduino programming self-efficacy and programming ability than novice students using ChatGPT. Nevertheless, ChatGPT may still play an important role in assisting novices to write microcontroller programs.

In the modern industrial revolution, this study looks at how education and curriculum development work together. It does this by looking at the Philippine educational system in particular. The project looks into ways to make curricula more flexible and able to change to changing technology and social and economic needs. The study uses a qualitative research method and involves talking to five teachers from a range of school backgrounds. The interviews aim to explore their experiences and perspectives on curriculum modifications, educational gaps, and the incorporation of technology in teaching. The findings emphasized the need for curricular improvements that integrate technological advancements, promote educational equity, and improve teaching effectiveness. The paper introduces a novel educational framework called "Education 6.0" that seeks to synchronize curricular goals with the ever-changing needs of the global environment. This framework prioritized a transition towards a comprehensive and flexible approach to education, facilitating the acquisition of skills that are applicable to forthcoming societal and economic concerns.

This study investigates the contribution of plugged and un-plugged activities to primary school students' development of computational thinking skills. The plugged and unplugged activities were used together in this study. In the implementation, in addition to the un-plugged activities prepared by the "Ministry of National Education," activities prepared by the researcher were also used. Plugged activities were also determined and implemented on the code.org website according to the age of the students and subjects. A quasi-experimental design was used with a single group to determine the changes before and after learning and to investigate the research questions. The measurements were performed with the Bebras tasks both before and after the implementation. Bebras consists of internationally valid tasks that measure computational thinking. The results showed that the combination of plugged and unplugged activities helped improve students' computational thinking skills. Our findings show that using a combination of unplugged and plugged activities is beneficial for primary school students. Further research is needed to evaluate these activities separately and their role in providing gains. The Smile project is an engineering service-learning initiative carried out through collaboration between Chouaib Doukkali University in Morocco and Pusan National University in South Korea. Since 2016, this project has been conducted annually for engineering students from both universities. Participants are selected through an oral interview, ensuring representation from different majors, years, and genders. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project transitioned to an online mode starting from 2020. The objective of this article is to investigate the impact of the service-learning approach on learning and its potential for enhancing engineering education. This study aims to compare the face-to-face and online implementations of the Smile project as examples of this educational approach. The analysis demonstrates a strong positive effect of engineering service-learning as a learning approach, leading to the improvement of engineering students' skills and competencies. Notably, there is minimal difference between the two implementation modes of this learning approach.

The first step to access information; it is possible to perceive it by hearing, seeing and touching. It is necessary to make sense of this gained knowledge. Therefore, having some basic skills forms the basis of all disciplines. The purpose of this research is to determine skills through activities prepared with an interdisciplinary approach. The research was designed as a case study. Purposeful sampling method was used to determine the study group of the research; the study was conducted with third grade primary school teaching students as the study group. As data collection tools in the study; skill target list, in-class skill observation form, semi-structured interview form and student products were used. At the end of the research, the students' skills were determined and in terms of science skills; it was revealed that life skills and innovative thinking skills were sufficient, but scientific process skills were not sufficient. In terms of language skills, reading and writing skills were found to be at an intermediate level. However, speaking skills, which are self-expression skills, were found to be at a low level. In terms of mathematical skills, it was observed that their problem solving skills were high, but their level of using basic mathematical skills was low. Technology skills; it has been found that it is sufficient in terms of algorithm creation, but not in the context of science acquisition. In addition, it has been observed that the activities prepared through the task-oriented teaching method make the lesson interesting and are effective in revealing creativity.

This analysis dissects a piece of information into its parts and determines how they interact in constructing a concept. This study focuses on enhancing the analytical thinking skills of grade 6 students in science and technology courses by implementing inquiry-based learning management. The aim is to meet the minimum requirement of 70 percent and assess student satisfaction with the approach. This work follows a classroom action research approach involving planning, action, observation, and reflection steps. The target group comprises 25 grade 6 students studying in the first semester of the 2022 academic year at an elementary school in Northeast Thailand, selected through purposive sampling. The research tools include six 5E inquiry-based learning plans, an analytical thinking skills test, and a satisfaction questionnaire. Data collection involves implementing the learning plan in two operational cycles, conducting analytical thinking tests, and administering satisfaction questionnaires. The collected data are analyzed to determine achievement levels and satisfaction ratings. The statistics used are mean, standard deviation, and percentage. The findings from the first operational cycle indicate that 76.0% of students did not meet the evaluation criteria. After the second operational cycle, the mean score improved, and all students met the assessment criteria of 70.0%. Overall, the inquiry based learning approach has the potential to enhance analytical thinking skills, and student satisfaction levels were generally positive. These findings highlight the importance of incorporating effective learning management strategies, such as analytical thinking, to improve students' higher-order thinking skills.

Self-regulated learning (SRL) is the process of utilizing effective strategies to acquire knowledge or skills and is influenced by motivation, metacognitive processing, and study-related behaviors. We hypothesized that by using survey tools that allow reflection on and refinement of students' study strategies, we could nurture metacognitive skill development, encourage positive motivation and study-related behaviors, and hence promote academic success. Undergraduate students in a semester-long, second-year biology course were provided with resources to promote SRL and three survey instruments that encouraged them to create study plans and reflect on the effectiveness of their study strategies. Using a student-partnered approach, we sought to investigate the role of metacognition, motivation, and study-related behaviors on academic performance by (i) identifying the self-regulated learning strategies most utilized by students, (ii) investigating the role of reflection in enhancing metacognitive processing and academic performance, and (iii) understanding whether students created and/or modified their study strategies as an outcome of self-regulation. Survey responses allowed us to understand the repertoire of study strategies used by students. Our analyses suggest that students demonstrated metacognitive skill development through the use of the resources and reflection instruments, as they accurately reported on the effectiveness of their study strategies and indicated future plans to shift study-related behaviors from passive to active reviewing techniques. Students across the grade spectrum perceived the reflection instruments as beneficial in identifying areas of improvement and developing long-term study habits, suggesting that these instruments were effective in promoting metacognitive skill development for a variety of student learners. We conclude that supporting students with resources that promote SRL and providing opportunities for timely reflection can promote metacognitive skill development, a key feature of academic success.

Pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) are at risk for emotional, behavioural and social difficulties. Social and emotional learning (SEL) may be particularly beneficial to fostering these children's resilience. Given the importance of teacher's role in promoting SEL, the present study aimed to explore special teachers' perceptions of SEL and the practices they use to enhance their pupils' social and emotional skills. Data were collected by means of semi-structured interviews with 15Greek primary and secondary education special teachers and were analysed with the use of reflexive thematic analysis. The findings of the study revealed that the special teachers considered the creation of a supportive school environment a key prerequisite to addressing the pupils' with SEND needs. They perceived SEL as a process aiming to the development of social and emotional skills which contributes to pupils' emotional development and social inclusion. Although they used a number of practices for this purpose, their efforts were often hindered by the lack of collaboration with general education teachers and their limited knowledge on SEL. The findings are discussed with respect to the need to enhance cooperation between the members of the school community and teachers' training on SEL.

Yulin Normal University preschool education major existing children's game course instructional model more in passing test knowledge and practice test skills, students used to passively accept knowledge, rarely use critical thinking to treat knowledge, with a critical eye to question, thinking, and discovery, long-term students will not be able to adapt to the needs of the new era of social development of survival ability and professional competitiveness. Therefore, the objectives of this study were (1) to study the factors affecting the development of critical thinking ability, (2) to develop an instructional model based on experiential learning theory and six thinking hats, and (3) to compare the critical thinking ability of Third Year college students before and after the instructional model of experiential learning theory and six thinking hats. The sample group was 30 students from preschool education majors at Yulin Normal University. The research was conducted in three steps: studying the factors that affect the development of critical thinking ability, developing the instructional model, and the experimental and improvement process. The research instruments were a questionnaire about factors that affect the development of critical thinking ability, an interview form about factors that affect the development of college students' critical thinking ability, an observation form about student behavior, an interview form about opinions on teaching, lesson plans, and a critical thinking ability test. The study's results were 1) the main factors affecting the development of critical thinking ability include the instructional environment, the teachers, and the students, respectively, 2) the instructional model based on experiential learning theory and six thinking hats was developed consisting of four core components: a) principles, b) objectives, c) learning process, and d) results, and 3) after the implementation of the instructional model based on experiential learning theory and six thinking hats, the critical thinking ability scores of the students were higher than the critical thinking ability of the students before the experiment, with a statistical significance of 0.01 level. Finally, this paper strives to develop a based on Experiential Learning Theory and Six Thinking Hats instructional model to improve the critical thinking of preschool education students at Yulin Normal University.

This research aimed to 1) study the factors that affect third-year undergraduate students' creative thinking ability at Baise University, 2) develop an instructional model based on design thinking and brainstorming, 3) compare third-year undergraduate students' creative thinking ability before and after using the instructional model based on design thinking and brainstorming. The sample group was 45 third-year undergraduate students at Baise University. The research Instruments were 1) an interview form about factors that affect the development of third-year undergraduate students' creative thinking ability, 2) a questionnaire about factors that affect the development of third-year undergraduate students' creative thinking ability, 3) lesson plans, 4) a creative thinking ability test 5) an interview form about opinions on teaching 6) an observation form about students' behavior. This study analyzed quantitative data through descriptive statistics, frequency, percentage, means, and standard deviation. For dependent samples, t-tests were used to analyze the different scores of undergraduate students before and after using the instructional model. Qualitative data were analyzed through content analysis. The research results were 1) the factors affecting undergraduate students' creative thinking ability include environmental factors (family, school, and society) and personal factors (personality traits, motivation, attitude, and emotional state), 2) the four components of the instructional model are principle, objective, learning process, and result, 3) after implementing the instructional model, the post-test scores of undergraduate students' creative thinking ability significantly increased, with a statistical significance of 0.01.

Science literacy abilities and collaborative skills are part of the life skills demands of the 21st century. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of the PjBL learning model in improving the Science literacy and collaborative skills of students at Muhammadiyah 2 Middle School, Batu City and Muhammadiyah 8 Middle School, Batu City. The research design uses Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research sample consisted of 60 class VIII students taken by total sampling. Data was obtained through observation, questionnaires and tests. Data analysis uses covariance analysis (ANCOVA) to verify the data against the proposed hypothesis. The research results show that the average Science literacy and collaboration in PjBL learning is higher than conventional learning. The results of the analysis can be concluded that the implementation of PjBL effectively influences students' Science literacy and students' collaboration skills. Thus, the PjBL model is recommended to be implemented to support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at the junior high school level as an effort to develop students' 21st century life skills.

This mixed methods research was applied and divided into two phases. Phase one: was to study the creative communication skills of school administrators according to the perspective of teachers in the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA). Multi-stage random sampling was used to select teachers from the BMA as participants in this research. The research instrument for phase one was a five-point Likert scale, consisting of 50 items, validating content with a range of 0.80 to 1.00, discriminant power between 0.30 to 0.80, and reliability of 0.986. Statistical analyses included mean, standard deviation, and the modified priority needs index (PNImodified). Phase two: focused on qualitative research to identify approaches to creative communication skills development of school administrators in schools under the BMA. The participant has three groups comprising seven individuals: academic experts in educational management at the directorial level or equivalent, representatives from the education department, and educational counselors affiliated with the BMA. Participants were selected using purposive sampling. The research employed a semi-structured interview as the instrument and conducted content analysis. The results of the research found that: 1) the degree of success, and importance of state requirements for creative communication skills of school administrators under the BMA were at high and highest levels respectively. The most crucial priority needs were encouragement, followed by active listening, fostering positive relationships, and reflective thinking, in that order; and 2) approaches for developing creative communication skills of school administrators under the BMA including engagement, approachability, optimism, and reinforcement, the EAOR model.

Employability is not just about focusing on building the students' workplace experience but about developing their social and cultural capital through learning. In higher education, the selected pedagogies are central to that development (Pegg, 2012). Thoughtful curricular design which maximises student engagement and adopts pedagogies for career and employability learning can help to prepare students for the reality of the workplace. These pedagogies with social connection at their heart can enhance student wellbeing and their perceived sense of belonging to their course and the wider world. This can thus build more confident, reflective, and collaborative graduates who should ultimately be more employable (Rowe, Jackson and Fleming, 2023). This paper uses a qualitative approach to outline four course-based case study examples of pedagogies that strengthen the behaviours and skills that enhance students' employability. The curricular and pedagogic practices of each are examined, and significant themes from each are then synthesised. Together they demonstrate how thoughtful course design and inclusive, integrated, contextualised pedagogic approaches support the development of students' employability learning and graduate skills (Healy, 2023). The common themes from the case studies focused on self-directed, student-centred, authentic learning which encouraged students to (i) work with industry and communities to build early professional networks, (ii) engage in connected learning where the curriculum and its supporting activities and pedagogy facilitate collaborative learning, and (iii) develop confidence, a sense of belonging and professional identities through using these inclusive, collaborative learning approaches. In addition, six practical pedagogic principles are identified for course teams to utilise. These include (i) focus on inclusive practice, (ii) building students' professional identity, (iii) developing students' belonging, (iv) deep critical thinking, (v) the demystification of the workplace through the activities selected, and (vi) students leading their own learning. This paper integrates a series of reflective questions (mapped to each principle) for educational developers to consider as they design future learning activities which foster graduate skills during career and employability learning.

A new reading curriculum incorporating the principles of concept-based instruction and reading strategy instruction was designed and implemented for a previous study. Concept-based instruction was compared with reading strategy instruction to determine the impact of the new curriculum on language learners' reading and reflective thinking skills. The data revealed that the concept-based group performed better in reflective reading and thinking skills. The new curriculum involves the creation of a Schema of a Complete Orienting Basis of an Action (SCOBA) during reflection sessions. To explore the necessity of SCOBA creation, an experimental study with two groups was conducted, where only one group created a SCOBA. Both groups received concept-based reading instruction and were compared based on their reading, reflective reading, and reflective thinking skills. The data revealed that the groups performed similarly in reading and reflective reading skills, but the SCOBA group performed better in reflective thinking skills. The study sheds light on the importance of incorporating reflective thinking activities, such as SCOBA creation, in concept-based reading instruction.

Student's critical thinking skills that are currently still low are important to develop because they affect the way students think in solving problems. The problem-based learning model with the inquiry method used to help improve student's critical thinking skills. The iSpring learning media used can help students understand the material. The research results were obtained from the output of the paired sample t-test, a significance value < 0.05, so it was concluded that there was a difference between before applying the learning model and after applying the learning model. The results of the questionnaire responses to the media also resulted in positive responses from students.

The research reported on in this article was mainly undertaken to determine the obstacles to the enhancement of critical thinking in the learning of history at Form 3 level in secondary schools in the Masvingo urban area of Zimbabwe, in terms of the rationale of developing the learners' critical thinking. The promotion of critical thinking abilities is vital in education, since doing so helps to improve the learners' academic performance, as well as aiding in producing graduates with a multiplicity of skills that are required in the 21st century job market and in society as a whole. We used semi-structured interviews and lesson observations to reach conclusions on what recommendations to make in addressing the research problem. Several factors were identified as hindering the learners' acquisition of critical thinking, including the learners' and teachers' lack of self-efficacy, motivation and the poor learning environment. In addition to reflecting on the possibility of improving the learning and teaching of critical thinking, we recommend that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Zimbabwe's Schools Examination Council, teacher training colleges and teachers should all work together to develop the learners' critical thinking skills within the parameters of the Zimbabwean education system.

The COVID-19 pandemic forced the education sector to transition from traditional classroom settings to online and blended learning formats. MOOCs have emerged as a potential alternative to traditional classroom instruction, providing students with access to high-quality education from leading universities. This case study examines the preferences and views of school students on the integration of MOOCs in the performance tasks of EFL courses. The study was conducted in Türkiye during the 2020-2021 school year, and a total of 110 K-12 students participated. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected. Statistical analysis was used to analyse the quantitative data, while descriptive and content analysis was used for the qualitative data. The study found that integrating MOOCs in K-12 EFL classes had a positive impact on students' motivation and engagement levels. Using MOOCs as performance tasks increased students' awareness of global issues and improved their research and analytical skills. Additionally, the results showed that MOOCs have the potential to enhance language learning outcomes in K-12 EFL courses. The findings of this study can guide researchers and practitioners in the theoretical and practical aspects of online and blended learning in K-12 education.

Pre-service teacher preparation programs are often ineffective in preparing new teachers to use classroom management skills and strategies. This contributes to high teacher-turnover rates for new teachers and ultimately influences principal retention and student outcomes. The crisis of teacher retention in the aftermath of the pandemic threatens U.S. global competitiveness and national security. Teacher preparation programs can address job stress and job satisfaction by better preparing teachers for the challenges of the post-pandemic classroom. The purpose of this longitudinal, mixed-methods improvement science study was to determine if embedding evidence-based classroom management skills and strategies into the instructional methods coursework programs, augmented by structured applied learning opportunities to improve the IE, would improve pre-service teachers' self-efficacy in classroom management. The research used the Classroom Management Self Efficacy Instrument, focus groups, and written reflections. Five themes emerged from the data: student-teacher relationships, orderly classrooms, preventative measures, difficult students, and use of technology. Scores for seven practice-oriented items on the CMSEI showed strong improvement (M = 93.75%, post-intervention). Responding to the CMSEI question "I can manage a class very well," 87.50% of students strongly agreed or agreed after the intervention. On eight items pertaining to self-efficacy on the post-survey, students reported strong efficacy (M = 85.16% agree or strongly agree). The major conclusion from this study is that embedding evidence-based classroom management skills and strategies into the instructional methods coursework, supported by structured applied learning opportunities, improves pre-service teachers' self-efficacy and holds tremendous potential to reduce teacher attrition.

Early STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education plays a pivotal role in shaping children's science and visual literacy skills. However, in South Africa, there are notable challenges such as delayed initiation of science education and inadequate emphasis on visual literacy. This study aims to investigate the influence of early STEM education on science and visual literacy in South African educational contexts. Drawing upon the post-positivist paradigm and Mayer's cognitive theory of multimedia learning, this research employed a mixed-method approach combining quantitative and qualitative analyses, integrating autoethnography to engage with lived experiences during my master's and doctoral studies. The findings suggest that children exposed to STEM education demonstrate higher levels of science and visual literacy. These findings have implications for curriculum design and educational practice, urging stakeholders to integrate STEM principles early in children's educational journey and to prioritize visual literacy to enhance communication and comprehension of scientific concepts. Recommendations are provided for educational institutions and policymakers to facilitate the implementation of effective strategies addressing these challenges and fostering a generation of learners equipped with essential skills for success in the modern world.

The activity-based social studies teaching is a learning process which applies activities prepared according to knowledge, skills, values and achievements and makes students actively participate. One of the most important goals of the social studies course is the activity-based teaching process, which is one of the ways to raise effective, productive and participatory citizens. This research aimed to reveal students' thoughts on teaching the value of responsibility in the activity-based social studies teaching process and to determine its effects on gaining the value of responsibility to students based on the observations made in the course. Furthermore, the research was structured in accordance with the qualitative research methodology. Moreover, the study used data diversification to obtain detailed participant information. The fundamental data collection instruments utilized in this research encompassed a semi-structured interview questionnaire, visual study activities involving student products, an observation form, and a personal information survey. Furthermore, descriptive and content analysis techniques were used to analyze the data. According to the research results, in the social studies course, the responsibility value-based activity teaching process prepared for 5th grade students contributed to developing students' responsibilities and positive attitudes and behaviors. Students stated their responsibilities, such as participating in the lesson, fulfilling the task given in the lesson, studying, and speaking by taking the floor.
