In the present study, an attempt has been made to examine the views of faculty members towards the employability skills of management graduates of state and private universities in the states of Haryana and Punjab. A sample of 90 teachers i.e. forty-five each from state and private university was taken. The key data where obtained by means of a five-point Likert questionnaire and evaluated through different descriptive statistics including frequency distribution, mean, standard deviation, etc. Person t-test was used to test and verify the findings of the study hypotheses. The research reveals that teachers in private universities focused on perceptive qualified individuals, negotiating capabilities and reputation elements, while teachers in state Universities focused on theoretical competencies, delegation competences, perceptual abilities and strategic vision under the direction of fundamental employability. In the other hand, instructors at private colleges are strongly focused on transdisciplinary expertise, emotional stress control, new skills and construction mental abilities under current employability skills. whereas teachers of state universities prioritised novelty skills, cognitive load management skills and trans-disciplinarity skills. To improve the employability skills of the students, teachers suggested variety of ways such as university-industry collaboration approach, skill-base education system, project learning techniques, learning with the help of internships and projects, trained faculty, etc. As well as the higher education institutions must develop effective routes of the communication with the employers, provide required training to the staff members so that they can generate required employability skills in the students and develop additional package of skills which are beyond the occupation as per employer’s demands.

“Teaching competency has different dimensions such as mastery of subject matter, enhancement of motivation of students, planning, presentation and evaluation skills and classroom managerial skills. Teacher possessing all these skills to reasonable extent can be a competent teacher”. The success of teaching mostly depends on some psychological and demographical factors of teachers. The relationship between teacher efficiency and intelligence was also the subject of study of many researchers. Many researchers indicated highly positive correlation between teaching success and intelligence. On the other the investigators concluded that the correlation between intelligence and teaching success in certain cases were positive, in some others negative, while in the rest non-significant. Therefore, it reveals to the need for further investigation and research, to find out the co-relationship between teacher efficiency and intelligence. In the present study, multi-stage stratified random sampling technique was adopted to draw the sample. The study was conducted on a sample of 589 teachers, selected from the 46 secondary schools of Bareilly region in U.P. For the purpose of measuring teaching efficiency and intelligence, the Teaching Efficiency Scale (TES)), were used. The results of the study indicate a significant and positive co-relation between intelligence and teacher efficiency.

Forecasting-based skills management, which is oriented to the respective corporate goals, is gaining enormous importance as a central management tool. The aim is to predict future skills requirements and match them with existing interorganizational skills. Companies are required to anticipate changes in markets, industries, and technologies at an early stage as well as to identify changes in job profiles within an occupational profile by tapping into and evaluating various data sources. Based on these findings, they can then make informed decisions regarding skill gaps, for example, to implement targeted further training measures. Forecasting-based skills management offers the opportunity to optimally qualify employees for constantly changing tasks. At the same time, however, the targeted development of such skills requires a high level of time, financial and personnel resources, which small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) generally do not have at their disposal. In addition, many SMEs are not yet aware of the importance of this issue. Within the framework of research and industrial projects of the Smart Work department at the FIR (Institute for Industrial Management) at the RWTH Aachen University, an AI-based skills forecasting tool will be developed. The goal of the paper is to conceptualize the future machine learning method, that is able to generate individualized skills forecasts and recommendations for SMEs. This is achieved by linking societal forecasts and sector trends with company-specific conditions and skills. In order to generate a corresponding database, the derivation system is made available to various companies (large companies and SMEs) in order to obtain as many data sets as possible. The data sets obtained via the derivation system are then used as training data sets for the machine learning method, with the help of which an automatic derivation of competencies depending on new trends is to be made possible.

In the United States, nonprofit organizations lose at least $40 billion every year because of fraud. Fraud negatively affects nonprofit organizations’ productivity. Nonprofit managers need effective strategies to prevent fraud, increase trust among stakeholders, and ensure longevity. The purpose of this multiple case study was to explore strategies to mitigate fraud in nonprofit organizations. The conceptual framework of this study was Cressey’s fraud triangle theory. Data of this study were collected through interview questions from 4 top successful managers of nonprofit organizations in Maryland. The emerging themes after data analysis were ethics and regulatory compliance, transformational leadership, and managerial skills.

Problem setting. Aspects of leadership have been studied throughout the entire history of humanity, and since the 80s of the 20th century it has become a subject of systematic research of various sciences, scientific investigations of ways and means of development of leadership qualities of a person have been carried out [25, p. 73]. The phenomenon of leadership is extremely rich in its manifestations and functions and depends on historical epochs, types of political systems, specific situation, peculiarities of leaders and their constituents and other factors [25, p. 76].Accordingly, during the critical period in the development of the Ukrainian society, the old principles of governance lose their efficiency and stop to work. It becomes difficult to exercise leadership in a world where creativity is valued more than diligence, indicating a change in the nature of the leadership phenomenon. Taking into account that Ukraine is currently in a zone of turbulence, there is an urgent need to improve approaches to human resource management in the system of public authorities. Therefore, aspects of enhancing the effectiveness of management and leadership in the public service are still gaining relevance in further research.In our publication we will focus on our own thoughts on the development of leadership in general and leadership in public service on the basis of analysis of the source base of scientific research on leadership.Recent research and publications analysis shows that the problem of leadership in public administration is constantly in the sight of the scientists who are trying to grasp all edges of the leadership phenomenon. Some positions of works of these scientists are used in the further for substantiation of own understanding of leadership.At the same time, the largest Google search engine for the query «leadership in public administration» (status 23.08.2021) received 558,000 links, which indicates that the concept of leadership is very popular. We have reviewed a few of them that are relevant to our own research [6, p. 35].Highlighting previously unsettled parts of the general problem. The research of leadership development in the public service is of particular relevance for modern Ukrainian society. Accordingly, the authors studied theoretical and conceptual approaches to the research and development of leadership in public authorities, taking into account the priorities of the “Public Administration Reform Strategies in Ukraine for 2022-2025”, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of 21 July 2021, №831-p.Aim of the paper. The article aims to reveal theoretical and conceptual approaches to the research of leadership in public authorities in the context of the tasks of scientific support for the implementation of the main goals of the “Strategy for Public Administration Reform in Ukraine for 2022-2025”.Paper main body. Summarizing various definitions, we can define leadership as a type of managerial interaction (in this case – between the leader and followers), based on the combination of different sources of power depending on a specific situation and aimed at motivating people to achieve common goals. In other words, leadership is the relationships of dominance and subordination, influence and direction in the system of interpersonal relations in the group, which lead to the intended goal. However, in socio-political life, the concept of “leader” is often associated with the concept of “manager”. Thereby, serious debates about the similarity or divergence of these concepts take place in the scientific community today. In particular, researchers are trying to reveal who is more required in a modern civil service – a manager, a leader, or a manager-leader? They also try to find out if a specialist can be an informal leader. If yes, how can a manager successfully use such a human resource then?Besides, the practice shows that a manager in public authorities is not always a leader, and a leader is not always a manager. It has also been proven that a manager with managerial skills, who exercised leadership, is more effective. Conclusions of the research and prospects for further studies. Leadership in public authorities is an understudied phenomenon that requires comprehensive research. Comparing the phenomena of leadership and governance within classical management and leadership, it can be argued that leadership involves the ability to lead employees to a common goal, to motivate them to want to do what is necessary.The way to an effective model of public administration management is the systematic development of leadership at all management levels.Development of innovative and service aspects of organizational culture and its management - this is the main task of leaders at all levels in public authorities in the context of the implementation of the “Strategy for Public Administration Reform until 2025”.

The objective of the study was to establish the influence of utilisation of project budget as a monitoring and evaluation tool and sustainability of community agricultural projects supported by Caritas in Meru County, Kenya. A pragmatic research paradigm was adopted and a descriptive survey research design was utilised. A pragmatic research paradigm was adopted and a descriptive survey research design was utilised. The target population was 59 smallholder farmer groups and 24 Caritas Meru staff. The sample size was 51 smallholder farmer groups and the total sample size was 177 respondents. The data collection tools were questionnaires and interview guides. The collected data were coded and entered into the SPSS version 26 program for analysis. The qualitative data was analysed by way of grouping similar responses together and identifying the main themes from them. The linear regression and Pearson’s correlation (r) methods were utilised to evaluate the link between various variables. The multiple linear regression models determined the link between dependent and independent variables together with the moderating effect of the moderating variable. It is also used as the inferential statistics that inform the decision to reject or not reject the alternative hypothesis for the research study. The study found out that an increase in the utilisation of project budgets leads to an increase in the sustainability of the community agricultural project by Caritas in Meru County and vice versa. The study concludes that there is a significant relationship between utilisation of project budget as monitoring & evaluation and sustainability of community agriculture projects. The study recommends that to ensure the sustainability of community-based agricultural projects, the organisation should train farmers’ group leaders on leadership and management skills. The organisation should train farmers on best farming practices, record keeping and conflict management practices to avoid the collapse of groups.

UMKM memiliki peran penting bagi perekonomian Indonesia dengan sumbangsih sekitar 60 persen dari PDB. Namun di lain sisi, ekspansi UMKM di sekitar kita masih tergolong rendah. Berdasarkan survei ekonomi BPS 2016, terdapat sejumlah 63,72 persen pengusaha yang menyatakan tidak ada rencana untuk melakukan pengembangan usaha dengan adanya berbagai alasan. Terlebih dengan adanya pandemic Covid-19 telah membuat UMKM semakin lesu karena permintaan penjualan produk mereka menurun drastis. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberdayakan dan memperkuat manajemen usaha dari UKM Handy Craft Az Zahra Creation yang berlokasi di Surabaya. Secara khusus pengabdian ini menitikberatkan pada pemahaman pola pikir dan peningkatan kapasitas mitra mengenai manajemen usaha, penguatan branding, dan pemasaran/distribusi online. Metode kegiatan yang digunakan adalah menggali dan memetakan permasalahan melalui observasi dan wawancara langsung terhadap mitra. Kemudian merumuskan solusi dengan pendekatan system thinking yang diwujudkan dalam program pendampingan dan pelatihan terstruktur. Adapun hasil dari pengabdian ini akan memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan dan skill manajerial bagi mitra guna meningkatkan kualitas produk, mengelola permintaan, dan mengembangkan usahanya secara berkelanjutan. PurposeThe main purpose of this research study is to identify the essential skills and competencies sought by prospective employers for library and information science (LIS) positions in India. The research study aims to find out various designated positions in job advertisements.Design/methodology/approachThe data were collected from a major weekly job journal “Employment News” in India over five years from 2016 to 2020. The Employment News provides the latest job vacancies of central/state governments, public sector undertakings and autonomous bodies in India. Each issue of Employment News was carefully scanned and searched for job advertisements in the field of LIS. The researcher analyzed various posts on permanent, deputation and short-term contracts to gain insights into the job’s skills.FindingsThe findings highlight that public sector academic and school libraries are the top employers of LIS professionals. One of the most frequent demands of employers is profession-related work experience. Results show that employers place the strongest emphasis on library administration, computer knowledge, technical skills, managerial skills and soft skills. Library management, library supervision and procurement of journals and books are the primary job responsibilities for top-level positions.Research limitations/implicationsThe weekly job journal, Employment News, is the largest source of LIS jobs in publicly funded organizations and institutions in India. It does not cover private educational institutes, industries and corporates. Job-related data were collected solely from this journal for the duration of 2016–2020. Therefore, this research study does not fully represent the LIS job market with regard to private educational institutes and corporate organizations.Practical implicationsThe research findings can help LIS professionals prepare themselves according to market needs and demands. The LIS school should integrate these required skills and competencies into the course curriculum for preparing professionals in the digital age.Originality/valueThe results are benchmarked to guide and evaluate LIS course curricula in India. LIS schools may emphasize soft skills in future curriculum design, which employers frequently seek.

This study sought to analyse the extent of the application of Fourth Industrial Revolution techniques (4 IR) in the tourism sector of Zimbabwe using the Victoria Falls as a case study. The objective of the study was to analyse the effectiveness of 4IR technologies on the competitiveness amongst tourist operators and to determine strategies that could be adapted to improve the use of 4IR technological trends. A sample of 96 tourist respondents were used in the study, as well as 30 tour operators. The study also used probability sampling through systematic random sampling for tourists and non-probability sampling through random sampling for tour operators. The findings clearly showed that pre-travel technologies used by tour operators have enhanced tourists choice of patronage. However, on-site technologies used by tour operators were limited acording to tourists who indicated that they were not satiesfied with the extent to which on-site technologies were applied. The reasons behind slow adoption of 4IR technologies by most operators emanated from lack of managerial skills, lack of expertise and lack of desire to innovate. The study recommended that operators should urgently adopt the use of artificial intelligence, they should budget towards technological upgrading as well as installation of cyber crime security systems. Organisations should also invest in digital transformation.

Neonatal pneumothorax is a clinical emergency procedure that - if not solved within minutes - can lead to major clinical complications, including death. For this reason, advanced management skills are required. High-fidelity simulation represents a valuable training tool for residents that allows to gain experience and confidence thus preserving patient safety. Nevertheless, systems now available on the market and literature prototypes provide poor anatomical and physiological features, thus limiting the realism of the simulation and the training. With the aim to overcome these limitations and allow the training of all aspects of the clinical procedure, an innovative high-fidelity neonatal pneumothorax simulator was realized by exploiting two airtight pressurized chambers coupled together with self-sealing needle insertion areas. The simulator assessment phase was carried out involving both expert neonatologists and residents. Before and after the clinical procedure, surveys were used for collecting subjective evaluations. Finally, procedural time was recorded. Based on the obtained results, neonatologists considered the simulator a valid teaching and retraining tool. Moreover, thanks to a simple setting and the possibility to provide real-time feedback, the simulator proved to be a valid tool for training also in critical conditions of personal distancing, e.g., Covid-19 pandemic, which often requires remote operation.

Dental professionals face many challenges due to a rapidly changing environment, and are acknowledging the need for essential leadership skills to perform optimally. We assessed key stakeholders’ views about the need for management and leadership training in dentistry in South Africa . The aim of this study, was to assess the need for leadership and management training in Dentistry in South Africa from an industry perspective. A qualitative study. Purposive sampling of 14 Senior Managers in the dental environment and 11 recently qualified dentists in South Africa. We conducted one-on-one and telephonic interviews guided by a semi-structured questionnaire with open-ended questions. Interviews were recorded, transcribed and data was thematically analysed. Participants expressed concerns about dentistry in South Africa. All participants mentioned financial constraints, including the high cost of setting up a practice, high cost of imported consumables and dwindling support from medical schemes. Participants stated that strong leadership and managerial skills were important for dealing with these challenges. Inculcating these skills will make a remarkable difference in enhancing services and providing purposive direction within the profession.

PurposeThe third-party logistics (3PL) provider has faced significant change since containerisation with the broadening scope of supply chains and technological developments. With these changes, the required supply chain skills discussions have covered mostly graduate skills or employees' skills with a limited discussion to what extent and whether senior management skills were changing. Hence, 3PL senior management skill requirements will be compiled based on existing studies and assessed to check whether these are still relevant and if so to what extent for today's 3PL senior managers.Design/methodology/approachA questionnaire has been devised based on 3PL senior management skills identified in the academic literature and sent out to senior managers via professional social networks of 3PL. Based on the previous literature, the senior managers selected had to fulfil the selection criteria of a minimum five years' managerial experience in a 3PL, and a minimum of ten years' experience in general, which limited the sample size to twenty-seven senior managers in the 3PL sector.FindingsThe findings indicated that 3PL senior managers’ skills highlighted an increasing dependence on and importance of relational and behavioural skills, particularly when compared with the more traditional functional and managerial skills. The study indicated that the 3PL senior managers highlighted an increasing dependence and importance upon relational and behavioural skills, particularly when compared with the more traditional functional skills.Research limitations/implicationsThe study has explored the senior management skills in 3PL in the UK, albeit the respondents possessing diverse backgrounds. Therefore, it would be beneficial to test whether these findings are exemplary across the wider 3PL sector, not only in the UK but also across Europe to see how corporate agenda for executive supply chain skills could be devised.Practical implicationsCorporate supply chain training and development staff can develop specific programs based on the 3PL senior management skill sets especially on relational and behavioural skills, which are needed for future managers as well as up-skill senior managers' skills which are deemed to be most important in the current 3PL market.Originality/valueThis paper contributes to the supply chain skills discussion and reports subject relevant challenges for today’s senior management in the 3PL industry. The findings have generated preliminary discussions on whether senior management skills are changing with the broadening scope of supply chains.

So far, the rapid development of Islamic banking has not been supported by competent resources according to Islamic principles. The resources contained in Islamic banking so far have been a shift from conventional banking, resulting in the incompetence of these resources in Islamic banking. This study aims to analyze the optimization of human resource management in Islamic banking following Islamic principles. The method in this research is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. The analysis uses deductive and inductive techniques from various published literature. The results of the study show that human resources in Islamic banking are not yet optimal. The development and development of available resources must align with the position, training, and development of attitudes and managerial skills instilled with Islamic financial and ethical principles. Islamic banking must cooperate with universities in the coaching process to absorb potential resources with added value and have Islamic-based competencies.

Parenting programs addressing coparenting skills are very effective in reducing problematic child behaviours. Barriers to participation in parenting programs highlight a need for flexible and accessible programs. The current study is the first step in designing a text-message based intervention aimed at strengthening coparenting skills to reduce child problem behaviours. A three phase Delphi study was conducted with two panels, which consisted of 13 multidisciplinary professionals with expertise in child behaviour problems and 10 parents with experience of child behaviour problems. A series of structured online surveys explored participant’s opinions regarding topics of importance to build and improve coparenting in the context of problematic child behaviours. Topics had high consistency between panels, and with existing literature, and ranged from communication and behaviour management skills to parenting practices. Sample messages were screened for further development to improve coparenting and address problem child behaviours.

Advanced midwives are expected to be candidates for middle managers in the next generation. Higher levels of management skills than the current levels may be required for middle managers in the future due to the progress of perinatal medicine. The aim of this study was to compare levels of management skills that are currently required for middle managers and levels of management skills that will be important in the next 10-20 years in advanced midwives. A self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted for 1652 advanced midwives in hospitals that have more than 300 beds in Japan. The scores for all management skills that will be required in the next generation were significantly higher than those for currently required management skills. Currently required management skills that were given high scores, including communication ability, ability to perform safety management and problem-solving ability, were also given high scores for middle managers in the next generation. Advanced midwives believed that management skills including the ability to participate in social activity, ability to use information and communication technology, and ability to participate in management in which these scores are low at present are needed for middle managers in the next generation. Advanced midwives consider that management skills for middle managers will change in the future. By acquisition of high levels of management skills, middle managers will be able to perform management of perinatal medicine and nursing. Knowledge, understanding and displaying good management skills will help sports managers of the sports organization to position the teams and clubs. Descriptive correlation study carried out using a survey method for this study. Purposive sampling technique was used to select 85 sports managers of the sports organization. Data were collected using self-developed questionnaire as an instrument. The entire questionnaire yielded a reliability value of 0.77r. Data were analysed using multiple linear Regression at the 0.05 alpha levels.The findings show significant multiple correlations. The regression indicated that the management skills was a good contributor for the selection of management model (F (4, 95) = 2.267, P ˂ .000). Based on the findings of this study, the researcher concluded that management skills contribute to the selection of the management model. Recomendation on government and stakeholder in the state should organize seminar, workshop and training for sports managers of the sports organizations in Kwara state for them to have knowledge on management skills which is crucial to their job.

Effective workshop management skills are vital for the occupational safety of the students, lecturers, instructors, support staff, or technicians who use mechanical production or manufacturing workshops at universities. The main purpose of the paper is to examine the status of the undergraduate university students’ skills practice in safety management in the engineering educational workshops assess the common occupational hazards and risks in the workshops, and explain the prospects of promoting occupational safety standards. The paper was informed by a recent study that was done in Kyambogo University, Uganda with a focus on employable skills outputs. The paper objectives were to identify the safety measures to be used in skills practice, design precautionary signs for skills practice, implement safety measures for skills practice in the department of mechanical production Engineering. In the study, a descriptive research design was used, where both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used. The total number of respondents who participated in the study was 30. The respondents included the head of the department, lecturers, students, technicians from the Mechanical Production Engineering Department of Kyambogo University. Data were collected from respondents through the use of questionnaires and interview guides. Data were analyzed and presented using tables and then descriptions were done using percentages. The findings revealed the following occupational hazards and risks, physical hazard, ergonomic hazards, chemical hazards, psychological hazards, and biological hazards. The study also revealed that accidents always occurred in the department of mechanical and production workshops. The major causes of the accidents were due to lack of knowledge or skills, safety policy gears, carelessness, safety protective wears, proper storage of materials, and instructions’ manuals or guidelines. In addition, there are problems of lack of modern tools, digital technology, good supervision, adequate space, and awareness of the ICT led safety systems. The cost-cutting strategies for workshop safety management were warning signs, alerts, and clear labels, use of protective gear, providing first aid kits, vocationalised training, and awareness campaigns on occupation safety. There is a need for routine monitoring, renovations, replacing obsolete machines, safety tags, fire drills, industry-university benchmarking, or industrial placements

As adolescence is a transitional stage in which a person's physical and psychological development and transformation are limited to the time between puberty and legal adulthood. It is commonly associated with the onset of a variety of mental health or adjustment problems. This study was to find out the incidence of depression and the factors that contribute to it among higher secondary school students. A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted among 100 adolescents who were selected by simple random sampling technique. The socio-demographic information, Perceived Social Support scale and Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) were adopted to collect the data. Descriptive and Inferential statistics was used to analyse the collected data. In this study, 52% of the adolescents did not have depression, whereas 18% had moderate, 8% had moderate to severe depression and 2% of them had severe depression. Nearly 68% of students had a higher social support perception. The type of family and living status of parents had significant relationship with the level of depression among adolescents at p = 0.01. The study concludes that depression and mental distress among these adolescents may be alleviated by boosting their perceived degree of social support and self-esteem through a variety of methods such as family support, counselling at schools and workshops on self – management skills etc.

This article discusses the ten research studies that constitute the Transnational Marketing Journal (TMJ) special issue, which has the stated intent on investigating the development of management skills and growth strategies in the post-pandemic world. The ten studies collectively offer insights in this regard that are applicable for pandemic and non-pandemic situations. This special issue runs the gamut of management actions and prepares companies for the future. The proposed integrative framework in this article categorises the ten studies based on their implications on countries, companies, and consumers. Further, this article identifies and delineates future research directions that emanate from the limitations posed by the ten studies and based on topics that are not covered in this issue. Overall, this article aims to serve as a guide to understand and appreciate this special issue on a topic of vital interest.

Background and Objectives The aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between creativity and entrepreneurial skills in health system managers of the educational hospitals. Material and Methods This research is descriptive-analytical and applied in terms of purpose. The study population includes the managers of teaching hospitals in Ahvaz, south west Iran. The data was collected by census method from 110 senior and middle managers by validated questionnaire. Data were analyzed using absolute and relative frequency, mean, standard deviation, independent samples t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise linear regression in SPSS software version 22. Results The mean score of creativity for managers was 44.74 7.91. 64.6% of the managers were highly creative and 35.4% of them were considered relatively creative. The average score of entrepreneurial skills of managers was 3 0.67 and was estimated to be appropriate. Aim of the study: To investigate the time management habits and its related factors among medical sciences faculty students Subject and method: A cross-sectional study was carried out at a private Faculty for girls at Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, all students (190 female students) enrolled in the academic year 2018-2019 from different specialties were investigated about time management habits. Tool: A self-administered questionnaire which consisted of two sections was used; the first section included items about age, specialty and the GPA while the second section included 23 items about time management behaviors. This paper investigates Curriculum Implementation in Public Primary Schools by the Management Boards in Tongeren Sub-County, Bungoma County, Kenya. The study objective was to establish the preparedness of the school management boards in curriculum implementation. The sample size for the study was 136 where Board members were 92 while teaching staff were 44. The study adopted both qualitative and quantitative research designs. Data was collected through questionnaires and interview schedules. The questionnaire was used on the education officers, the headteachers, and teachers, while the interview schedules were used on the School Management Boards. Descriptive and inferential analysis techniques were used to analyze the collected data. Cronbach Alpha’s measure of internal consistency yielded a reliability coefficient of 0.756 on the questionnaire. Qualitative data collected were analyzed thematically. Quantitative data gathered from the field survey was analyzed using regression on SPSS version 25. The study noted that 96.8% of the school management boards were not initially trained in curriculum implementation by Kenya Education Management Institute (KEMI). Findings further indicate that the correlation coefficient (R-value) for the model was 0.151, indicating a low positive relationship between the variables. The Coefficient of determination (R2) was 23%, implying that the studied variables accounted for 23% variability in the curriculum implementation in public primary schools at a 95% confidence interval. This was an indication that members of the school management boards were unlikely to oversee proper curriculum implementation for lack of management skills. Sensitization and organization of regular in-service courses for school management boards on matters of curriculum implementation are recommended.

PurposeThis study aims to explore how to respond to market turbulence by big data analytics (BDA) capability and mass customization capability (MCC) from the perspective of organizational information processing theory (OIPT).Design/methodology/approachThis study examines the research hypotheses using hierarchical regression analysis by collecting data from 277 Chinese firms.FindingsThe results reveal that supply chain agility (SCA) completely mediates the impacts of technical skills on product-oriented and service-oriented MCC and the impact of data-driven decision-making culture (DDC) on service-oriented MCC. SCA also partially mediates the impacts of managerial skills on two dimensions of MCC and the impact of DDC on product-oriented MCC. In addition, market turbulence strengthens the impact of managerial skills on SCA.Originality/valueThis study provides insightful contributions and implications for enhancing MCC to cope with market turbulence.

While gender diversity in leadership has been shown to benefit organizations and promote innovations, women continue to be underrepresented in leadership positions in the industry sector. With increasing numbers of women pursuing PhDs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields, it is critical to examine how PhD programs contribute to the career paths of PhDs. This study examines the role of doctoral education preparation in communication, management, and technical skills, as well as post-PhD early career management training (ECMT), on PhDs’ attainment of leadership positions in industry. Data come from the National Science Foundation Survey of Doctorate Recipients, National Science Foundation Survey of Earned Doctorates, and National Research Council Rankings of PhD programs. Using regression analyses, results indicate that ECMT is associated with a higher likelihood of attainment of leadership positions. PhD preparation in management skills also contributes to the attainment of leadership positions. Previous literature has shown that structural inequities and workplace bias contribute to limiting women’s progress to leadership positions and that it is critical to address systemic and workplace biases. Research findings suggest that PhD program preparation and increased access to professional development opportunities can help contribute to the enhancement of women’s pathways to leadership roles. Structural changes in doctoral education preparation in management skills and increases in ECMT opportunities offered by employers also have the potential to increase the participation of STEM PhDs in leadership roles in industry.

Tax payers money are been used every day in Ghana to establish public sector organizations. This is why the management of public sector organizations is important in sustainable development. The main objective of this study was to examine the factors leading to the collapse of Metro Mass Transit in Ghana. The study revealed literature on transportation, the role of the state in public transportation, the nature of Metro Mass Transit operations, management practice of Metro Mass Transit and challenges of the public transport system. The study purposively sampled sixty (60) respondents which comprises of 30 workers of Metro Mass Transit (10 Professional Drivers, 10 Senior Management Staff and 10 Junior Staff) and 30 passengers (comprising of 15 passengers from Metro Mass Transit, 5 passengers of OA Transport, 5 passengers of VIP Transport and 5 passengers from VISION Transport). The major findings of the study revealed that Metro Mass Transit offers scheduled trips on intercity and intra city route but does not offer quality transport services as private transport like OA, VIP and VISION does in Accra. The study also found out that passengers prefer private transport more to Metro Mass Transit because the workers have good communication skills as compared to the workers of Metro Mass Transit in Accra, Metro Mass Transit officials have inefficient managerial skills and therefore can’t meet the demands of their customers, Metro Mass Transit have inadequate operation buses, there is frequent breaking of Metro Mass Transit vehicles. The study recommends that the management of Metro Mass Transit should make proper use of Public Private Partnership. This can help in securing more buses to boost their operations. The study also recommends that the management of Metro Mass Transit should work on improving their management practices to enhance performance in other to meet the demand of their customers. Again the management of Metro Mass Transit should ensure that there is frequent maintenance of vehicles to enhance effective operations and also management must also try to maintain an optimum level of providing good communication and effective managerial skills in order to improve its operations. Purpose The purpose of this study is to develop, test and examine econometric methodology for Sharīʿah-compliant duration models of Islamic banks. Design/methodology/approach The research evaluates all existing duration models from Sharīʿah’s perspective and develops a four-stage framework for testing Sharīʿah-compliant duration models. The econometric methodology consists of multiple regression, Johansen co-integration, error correction model, vector error correction model (VECM) and threshold vector error models (TVECM). Findings Regressions analysis suggests that returns on earning assets and interbank offered rates are significant factors for calculating the duration of earning assets, whereas returns paid on return bearing liabilities and average interbank rates of deposits are significant factors for duration of return bearing liabilities. VECM suggests that short run duration converges into long run duration and TVECM suggests that management of assets and liabilities also plays a significant role that can bring about a change of about 15% in respective durations. Practical implications Sharīʿah-compliant duration models will improve risk and Sharīʿah efficiency, which will ultimately improve market capitalization and returns stability of Islamic banks in the long run. Originality/value Sharīʿah-compliant duration models testing provides insight into how various factors, namely, rates of return, benchmark rates and managerial skills of Islamic bank risk managers impact durations of assets and liabilities. It also explains the future course of action for Sharīʿah-compliant duration model testing.

The principal needs training to have managerial skills to optimize his performance. Otherwise, several studies have shown the opposite. This study aims to examine the effect of exercise and managerial skills on principal performance. This study is field research with a simple path analysis design. Data were obtained through questionnaires, observation, and documentation study. This study shows that there is an effect of training and principal managerial skills on principal performance. This indicates that the more intense the principal attends training and has a deep understanding of training material, the higher the principal organizational skills are. The higher the principal managerial skills are, the higher the quality of the principal performance is, which in turn increases the rate of the school.

First, the team members were selected for the construction and management of the Hospital Infection Management Department according to the relevant responsibility and management requirements, and their learning and mastery of the basic knowledge and skills concerning infection control were completed based on their professional roles. In line with the regulations of the hospital and department, full-time personnel were ensured of having the opportunity to participate in provincial- and municipal-level academic exchanges and then learn from each other, through collaboration between doctors and nurses, how to exercise basic management skills. At the same time, a fair competitive incentive mechanism was established through the three-level network of the hospital infection committee, the hospital infection management department, and nosocomial infection management department to implement innovative project-based management and cultivate an awareness of hospital infection control in all employees.Results: The professional structure of the full-time infection control personnel has been optimized, the awareness of the infection control team concerning active participation in practice has gradually increased, and infection control management and innovation has been significantly improved.Conclusion: After the selection of an infection control management team and the delivery of well-planned training, the quality of infection control management has improved.Keywords: hospital infection, infection control team, three-in-one training model

The research explores the processes of communication management and communication plan­ning on construction projects, both from a theoretical point of view and in practice. By reviewing the literature in the field of communications management and project analysis from practice, guidelines were reached that could positively affect the effectiveness of communication and the construction projects themselves. The goal of the research is to look for concrete ways to improve the performance of team members, improve managerial skills and abilities on construction projects, through simple ways of improvement.
