This paper proposes a single clock charge pump with high-voltage conversion ratio for low-voltage applications. To increase the clock voltage level, a voltage doubler circuit has been used in the charge pump circuit. In each stage of this voltage doubler circuit, two out of phase clock signals are produced, meanwhile there is a charge transfer switch in every single stage that it's input is dynamically controlled by an inverter that turns the switch on and off completely. The four-stage charge pump is simulated by using Hspice software under 0.18 µm process with 1.8 V supply voltage and clock voltage. The output voltage and the conversion ratio of the charge pump are 14.71 V and 74.3%, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background & Aims: Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative bacterium that causes damage to the stomach lining, and it cause digestive problems. Several mechanisms have been proposed for the pathogenesis such as producing alkaline conditions by urease enzyme and oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is essentially an imbalance between the production of free radicals and the ability of the body to counteract or detoxify their harmful effects through neutralization by antioxidants. An important factor for the evaluation of oxidant and antioxidant is the catalase and protein carbonyl content. The aim of this study was to determine the status of these two factors in individuals infected by H. pylori. Materials & Methods: After sampling and determination of infection status, protein carbonyl and catalase activity were measured. The survey data were analyzed by using spss software. Results: 68 out of 150 suspected cases were infected with H. pylori. Catalase and protein carbonyl levels were significantly higher in these cases comparing to the controls. Conclusions: Increased protein carbonyl content confirms oxidative damage by H. pylori, and catalase activity increases in response to the stress and oxidative damage. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The low erosion resistance of titanium and its alloys has prevented their widespread application as joint implants. In addition, one essential requirement for the implants to bond with the living bone is the formation of a bone-like apatite on their surfaces in the host body. To enhance the erosion resistance of the surface, a diffused layer of TiB2 was formed at 1000°C on the commercial pure titanium. Hydroxyapatite was then coated on the boronised titanium by means of dip coating in a sol-gel solution. In order to confirm the biocompatibility of the specimens, they were soaked in a simulated body fluid for several days. The surface morphology of the specimens after exposure was studied by scanning electron microscopy, whereas X-ray diffraction patterns clearly revealed the growth of a calcium phosphate phase on top of the surface. Results showed that both wear resistance and biocompatibility of the hydroxyapatite coated samples on boronised films were improved. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this study, a new magnetic biocompatible hydrogel was synthesized as an adsorbent for Deltamethrin pesticide removal. The optimal conditions and adsorption process of Deltamethrin by chitosan/polyacrylic acid/Fe 3 O 4 nanocomposite hydrogel was studied by Response Surface Methodology by Central Composite Design (RSM-CCD) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). This adsorbents were synthesized, and then characterized and investigated using FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM, EDX, Map, VSM, and TGA methods. The results of these analyses showed that the nanocomposite hydrogel was well synthesized and has the ability to adsorb the Deltamethrin pesticide. The results obtained through analysis using response surface methodology showed that the maximum amount of adsorption was 99.79 % at 26 °C, while pH, initial concentration, contact time, and adsorbent dose were 7, 22 ppm, 90 min, and 1.3 g/L respectively. Comparison between results obtained from CCD modeling and artificial neural network proved that both methods had high ability to predict the adsorption process but the CCD method had higher coefficient of determination and lower error. The equilibrium and kinetic study of the process showed that the Toth isotherm model, pseudo-second-order is all suitable for expressing the adsorption process. In addition, the adsorption mechanism followed double-exponential model that combines external and internal diffusions. Results of Thermodynamic study suggested that the Deltamethrin adsorption on CS/PAA/Fe 3 O 4 was a spontaneous and exothermic process. In this paper, we performed thorough experimental and theoretical calculations to examine the interaction between Pt derivative, as an anticancer, and ct-DNA. The mode of DNA binding with [Pt(NH 3 ) 2 (Isopentylgly)]NO 3 , where Isopentylgly is Isopentyl glycine, was evaluated by various spectroscopic methods, docking, and molecular dynamics simulation studies. UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopic titration results and CD spectra of DNA-drug showed this interaction is via groove binding. Also, thermal stability studies or DNA melting temperature changes (ΔT m ), as well as the quenching emissions monitoring proved it. Also, the thermodynamic parameter and binding constant displayed that complex-DNA formation is a spontaneous process, and H-binding and also groove binding were found to be the main forces. Theoretical studies stated [Pt(NH 3 ) 2 (Isopentylgly)]NO 3 -DNA formation occurs on C-G center on DNA, along with rising DNA-compound stability. IC 50 value against the human breast cell line probably is due to the Isopentyl glycine ligand in the structure of the Pt compound, and it was obtained more than cisplatin and less than carboplatin against the MCF7 cell.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. In photovoltaic systems, only a tiny portion of solar radiation reaches the module's surface and is converted to electrical energy. The remaining solar radiation is wasted, which raises cell temperature and reduces electrical efficiency. This research focused on examining the effects of different factors on nanofluids. In the simulations performed in this thesis, the inlet temperature of the water fluid changes from 5 °C to 30 °C. The radiation intensity equals 600 W per square meter, and the input speed is 0.07452 m per second. The innovation of this article is the use of two nanofluids of aluminum oxide and copper together with a mixture of water to investigate the effect of effective parameters on the electrical, thermal, and overall efficiency of photovoltaic systems, such as the amount of incoming radiation to the surface of the panel, the temperature of the fluid inlet in mountainous areas, the temperature of the absorber. , so that the thermal efficiency of copper and aluminum oxide is investigated and compared. As a result, copper nanofluid can increase the ratio more than aluminum oxide and pure water. There is a direct relationship between the output fluid temperature and the input temperature. With an increase in the input fluid temperature, the output temperature also increases proportionally. Increasing the inlet temperature affects the temperature of the absorber surface, which, in turn, reduces the electrical efficiency of the photovoltaic system. In this study, a sensitive and selective fluorescent chemosensor was developed for the determination of pirimicarb pesticide by adopting the surface molecular imprinting approach. The magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) nanocomposite was prepared using pirimicarb as the template molecule, CuFe 2 O 4 nanoparticles, and graphene quantum dots as a fluorophore (MIP-CuFe 2 O 4 /GQDs). It was then characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, Fourier transforms infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The response surface methodology (RSM) was also employed to optimize and estimate the effective parameters of pirimicarb adsorption by this polymer. According to the experimental results, the average particle size and imprinting factor (IF) of this polymer are 53.61 nm and 2.48, respectively. Moreover, this polymer has an excellent ability to adsorb pirimicarb with a removal percentage of 99.92 at pH = 7.54, initial pirimicarb concentration = 10.17 mg/L, polymer dosage = 840 mg/L, and contact time = 6.15 min. The detection of pirimicarb was performed by fluorescence spectroscopy at a concentration range of 0-50 mg/L, and a sensitivity of 15.808 a.u/mg and a limit of detection of 1.79 mg/L were obtained. Real samples with RSD less than 2 were measured using this chemosensor. Besides, the proposed chemosensor demonstrated remarkable selectivity by checking some other insecticides with similar and different molecular structures to pirimicarb, such as diazinon, deltamethrin, and chlorpyrifos., (© 2024. Software-defined networking (SDN) allows flexible and centralized control in cloud data centers. An elastic set of distributed SDN controllers is often required to provide sufficient yet cost-effective processing capacity. However, this introduces a new challenge: Request Dispatching among the controllers by SDN switches. It is essential to design a dispatching policy for each switch to guide the request distribution. Existing policies are designed under certain assumptions, including a single centralized agent, global network knowledge, and a fixed number of controllers, which often cannot be satisfied in practice. This article proposes MADRina, Multiagent Deep Reinforcement Learning for request dispatching, to design policies with high dispatching adaptability and performance. First, we design a multiagent system to address the limitation of using a centralized agent with global network knowledge. Second, we propose a Deep Neural Network-based adaptive policy to enable request dispatching over an elastic set of controllers. Third, we develop a new algorithm to train the adaptive policies in a multiagent context. We prototype MADRina and build a simulation tool to evaluate its performance using real-world network data and topology. The results show that MADRina can significantly reduce response time by up to 30% compared to existing approaches.

Novel hydrogel beads based on nanocomposite with outstanding antibacterial and swelling capabilities have been successfully produced as an efficient drug carrier for potential drug delivery systems in wound healing applications. The beads were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and EDX-Mapping analysis. Then, using tetracycline hydrochloride (TCH) as a model drug system, they were studied in vitro for their potential efficiency as pH and temperature dependent sustained drug delivery carriers. Moreover, they were assessed in terms of porosity, swelling degree, encapsulation efficiency, and in vitro release kinetics. Beads released drugs at their highest levels under alkaline circumstances (pH = 8) and at a temperature of 39 °C, with a cumulative TCH release of 96.2 % at 36 h and in accordance with the Weibull kinetics model (R 2  = 0.98). The importance of the fuel injection configuration on the propulsion efficiency of high-speed vehicles is apparent. In this article, the use of an annular extruded 4-lobe nozzle for the injection of fuel jet in a supersonic combustor of a scramjet engine in the existence of a shock generator is examined. The main aim of this study is to obtain the efficient jet arrangement for efficient fuel mixing inside the engine of hypersonic vehicles. A numerical approach is used to model the supersonic air stream and cross-jet flow with the SST turbulence model. The role of nozzle altitude and internal air jet on the fuel mixing of the hydrogen within the high-speed domain are disclosed. The importance of the horseshoe vortex and counter-rotating vortex on the fuel distribution is also presented. Although cisplatin is useful in the treatment of cancer, it has a series of side effects that limit its use. Dithiocarbamates reduce the toxicity of platinum due to their structure and the presence of S, and N donating groups. In this article, the interaction of [Pt(bpy)(isopentyl.dtc)]NO 3 , where bpy is bipyridine and isopentyl.dtc is isopentyl-dithiocarbamate, with BSA, bovine serum albumin has been studied. The molecular binding method, including UV-Vis and fluorescence titration, was carried out in conditions including pH = 7.4 and temperatures of 27 and 37 °C. The negative values of enthalpy (ΔH° b ) and entropy (ΔS° b ) show that the driving forces of this interaction are hydrogen and van der Waals, and the negative value of the Gibbs free energy, ΔG° b indicates that the interaction proceeds spontaneously. The fluorescence results showed that the quenching mechanism is the static type and the Stern Volmer constant, K SV , was also obtained. The fluorescence titration method data displayed that the quenching mechanism is static. Binding constant (K b ), binding point (n), Hill coefficients, n H , Hill constant, K H , number of binding sites, g, BSA melting temperature, Tm, were also obtained. Finally, the molecular docking method result shows the binding constant, K i and binding free energy for the platinum complex are -6.53 and 16.39 kcal mol -1 , respectively, and also the proper position of binding on BSA can be considered the site I in the subdomain IIA.

Despite the past few decades since the discovery of anticancer drugs, there is still no definitive treatment for its treatment. Cisplatin is a chemotherapy medication used to treat some cancers. In this research, the DNA binding affinity of Pt complex with butyl glycine ligand was studied by various spectroscopy methods and simulation studies. Fluorescence and UV-Vis spectroscopic data showed groove binding in ct-DNA-[Pt(NH 3 ) 2 (butylgly)]NO 3 complex formation by the spontaneous process. The results were also confirmed by small changes in CD spectra and thermal study (T m ), as well as the quenching emission of [Pt(NH 3 ) 2 (butylgly)]NO 3 complex on DNA. Finally, thermodynamic and binding parameters displayed that hydrophobic forces are the main forces. Nitrate (NO 3 -) and fluoride (F-) are two major potential contaminants found in the groundwater of Iran. These contaminants are highly dangerous to humans if consumed more than the safe limit prescribed by the WHO. Therefore, in this study, the urban and rural drinking water resources of Isfahan province (central Iran) were investigated to evaluate the quality of groundwater from the perspective of NO 3 - and F-. The calculated saturation index (SI) shows that the majority of samples are mainly undersaturated or in equilibrium with respect to potential minerals. The most likely interpretation for undersaturation with respect to most minerals is either that the minerals are not present if they are reactive or if they are present, then they are not reactive. This study reveals that the majority of the groundwater samples belong to the Ca-Mg-HCO 3 water type. Further, in this study, potential physicochemical variables have been used to calculate entropy weighted water quality index (EWQI). The EWQI reveals that the majority of the groundwater in the area is of good quality. Results show that the water chemistry in the area is largely governed by the water-rock interaction. This study based on large data sets reveals that the majority of drinking water resources are uncontaminated by F-. However, the groundwater is found to be largely contaminated by NO 3 -. The bivariate plot suggests that the unscientific farming practices and overuse of manures and fertilizers are largely responsible for high content of NO 3 -. Therefore, emphasis should be given on the cost-effective environmentally friendly fertilizers. The findings from this study will aid the governing authorities and concerned stakeholders to understand the hydrogeochemical evolution of groundwater in this region. Until now, many methods have been proposed to treat cancer, such as radiation therapy and drug therapy, but none of them have caused a complete cure for cancer. Heavy metal complexes such as cisplatin are among the compounds used as drugs in chemotherapy against cancer cells. These compounds cause cell death and have anti-cancer properties, but they have side effects. The biochemical mechanism of cisplatin is related to its interaction with DNA through covalent binding. To reduce the toxicity of metallodrugs, new complexes can be designed containing S, S- bidentate ligands such as diethyldithiocarbamate. Moreover, anti-cancer compounds probably interact with proteins, such as HSA, before passing the cancerous cell membrane and DNA as a target. So, the function of proteins and their stabilities are expected to change. In this research, the mode of binding of [Pt (bpy) (amyl.dtc)]NO 3 complex with BSA was evaluated by various thermodynamic methods. Negative binding enthalpy and entropy changes amounts show that the connection between the Platinum compound and BSA occurs via the van Der Waals type of hydrogen bond. The negative Gibbs free energy change was obtained through isothermal titration, which showed interaction proceeds spontaneously. Moreover, the emission titration data showed that protein fluorescence quenching by platinum agent titration is static. Binding, quenching constants, and binding site number were obtained by the Stern-Volmer equation, and only one binding site was determined for this interaction. A Scatchard plot with a positive slope shows the Pt agent-BSA formation is proceeding positively cooperative. The kinetic study displayed that the absorption monitoring followed the second-order model. Objectives: Registries are powerful tools for the collection and distribution of valid and reliable data. The initial step in health information management is to design a minimum data set that can improve the collection of high-quality data from the registry. The present pilot study aimed to determine the optimal minimum data set for dental implants to effectively utilize at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2019 at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. A minimum data set checklist was developed based on our previous systematic review. The content validity of the minimum data set was approved by the recruited experts and the final minimum data set was established using the Delphi technique. Results: The minimum data set for dental implants consists of two separate sections - administrative and clinical data. The administrative portion includes two main segments: patient demographic data and clinic data, consisting of 12 data elements. The clinical part includes five main segments (patient clinical data, implant data, implant complications, implant loss, and implant follow-up), and contains 96 data elements. Conclusion: This study suggests a minimum set of data for dental implants that can aid in efficient management of information, facilitate evidence-based decision-making, and enable high-quality clinical research, evaluation of treatment results, monitoring, and benchmarking of care., Competing Interests: None declared., (Copyright © 2023 The Authors. Chlorpyrifos is a hazardous material that pollutes the environment and also poses risks to human health. Thus, it is necessary to remove chlorpyrifos from aqueous media. In this study, chitosan-based hydrogel beads with different content of iron oxide-graphene quantum dots were synthesized and used for the ultrasonic-assisted removal of chlorpyrifos from wastewater. The results of batch adsorption experiments showed that among the hydrogel beads-based nanocomposites, the chitosan/graphene quantum dot‑iron oxide (10) indicated a higher adsorption efficiency of about 99.997 % at optimum conditions of the response surface method. Fitting the experimental equilibrium data to different models shows that the adsorption of chlorpyrifos is well described by the Jossens, Avrami, and double exponential models. Furthermore, for the first time, the study of the ultrasonic effect on the removal performance of chlorpyrifos showed that the ultrasonic-assisted removal of chlorpyrifos significantly reduces the equilibration time. It is expected that the ultrasonic-assisted removal strategy can be a new method to develop highly efficient adsorbents for rapid removal of pollutants in wastewater. Also, the results of the fixed bed adsorption column showed that the breakthrough time and exhausting time of chitosan/graphene quantum dot‑iron oxide (10) were equal to 485 and 1099 min, respectively. And finally, the adsorption-desorption study showed the successful reuse of adsorbent for chlorpyrifos adsorption in seven runs without a significant decrease in adsorption efficiency. Context: Using the molecular dynamics simulation method, the adsorption of folic acid as a drug with diphenylalanine peptide nanohole as an efficient nanodrug delivery system was investigated computationally. It focuses on the structural properties, drug loading capacity in the carrier, intermolecular interactions, and drug encapsulation behaviors. The results show that the average number of hydrogen bonds between diphenylalanine and folic acid will increase when the system reaches equilibrium. In addition, by increasing the weight concentration of folic acid from 0.3 to 0.9%, the number of hydrogen bond between them increases about 18%. In other words, hydrogen bonding can play an effective role in the binding of folic acid to the drug carrier. The results of the radial distribution function of water molecules around the carrier mass center show that its effective radius is around 1.2 nm (or 12 Å), which is in a good agreement with the results obtained from the hydrodynamic radius., Method: The initial structures were optimized in Amber molecular mechanics using Gaussian 09 software in aqueous medium in DFT/B3LYP/6-31 g(d). The molecular structure of folic acid was obtained from the PubChem database. The initial parameters are embedded in AmberTools. Background: One of the most important endogenous factors causing genomic instability in human cells is L1s retrotransposons. In this study, we assume that increased activity of L1 retrotransposons (specifically L1 expression) might be induced by hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia in neuroblastoma cell line., Methods: Two different cell lines (BE (2)-M17 and HEK293) were treated with insulin and its PI3K signaling pathway inhibitor under three conditional media including hyperglycemic and retinoic acid treatment in the department of Medical Genetics, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran in 2018. The expression of L1 ORF1 , as well as genes involved in insulin signaling pathway and neuronal stress and structure were measured at RNA level., Results: Insulin could significantly down regulate the expression of L1 ORF1 and NEFM genes. Hyperglycemia result in severe decrease in expression of all candidate genes in control neuroblastoma but not HEK293 cells. Retinoic acid as the concentration used in this study cause increase stemness in neuroblastoma but not HEK293 cells. We could not find significant correlation between expression pattern of other genes tested in our study and L1 ORF1 expression., Conclusion: Total regulatory effect of insulin on L1 ORF1 RNA expression as well as NEFM markedly in BE (2)-M17 cell line. Although these results could not be interpreted as L1 retrotransposition, expression of L1 RNA during stress conditions might be considered following inhibition of the insulin pathway. Introduction. Toxocariasis is a zoonotic parasitic disease caused by migrating nematode worms, Toxocara species larvae, within tissues. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small RNA molecules that regulate gene expression at a post-transcriptional level. Hypothesis/Gap Statement. miRNA-based diagnostic biomarkers for toxocariasis are emerging, but there is limited information about the role of many miRNAs and a more detailed diagnostic evaluation of miRNA expression patterns is needed to understand their immunobiological function. Aim. We investigated the expression levels of circulating miRNA 21 and miRNA 103a as potential biomarkers for the prediction and diagnosis of toxocariasis in Wistar rats infected with Toxocara canis . Methodology. Thirty Wistar rats were inoculated orally with 2500 T. canis embryonated eggs via gavage. Serum samples were collected from infected animals and were tested against T. canis antigens for 60 days post-infection. The plasma samples were isolated for quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) assays and qPCR was used to assess transcription levels of miRNA 21 and miRNA 103a. Results. The prevalence of anti- Toxocara IgG was detected in 7/30 (23.3 %) infected rats. Molecular analysis of miRNAs 21 and 103a  showed that expression levels of miRNAs in both groups of Toxocara -positive and negative samples were the same without significant association. The ratio of housekeeping gene expression ( U6 ) to gene expression of miRNAs 21 and 103a indicated the rate of change (1/1.38 ≈ 0.75 and 1/0.751 ≈ 1.3, respectively). Conclusion. Our study revealed that miRNAs 21 and 103a  might play fundamental roles as biomarkers and diagnostic tools for toxocariasis. However, the changes in expression of these miRNAs were not adequate to be used as biomarkers in diagnosis.

Chemotherapy is currently used for most cancer treatments, but one of the significant problems of this treatment is that it affects the healthy tissues of the body. Therefore, designing new systems for the intelligent and controlled release of these drugs in cancer tissues is one of the major challenges in the world. Hence, today, huge costs are spent designing appropriate new drug delivery systems (DDS) with controlled drug release. In this study, chitosan-polyacrylic acid encapsulated Fe 3 O 4 magnetic nanogelic core-shell (Fe 3 O 4 @CS-PAA) was synthesized in the presence of glutaraldehyde used for loaded anticancer 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) drug. Also, the prepared Fe 3 O 4 @CS-PAA was characterized by using FT-IR, SEM, XRD, and VSM analysis. Then, drug delivery tests were carried out in the in-vitro conditions that are the simulated physiological environment and tumor tissue conditions. The drug release tests indicated that the Fe 3 O 4 @CS-PAA upgraded the rate of 5-FU release from nanogelic core-shell under tumor tissue conditions (pH 4.5) than physiological environments (pH 7.4). In addition, various models were used to investigate the drug release mechanism.
