Background The program of targeted medical education program has been carried out since 2010 in China, aiming to train general medical talents working in primary care. Further research is needed to explore the working status and career planning in targeted admission medical graduates (TAMG) , as well as the overall assessment for them by the employing unit. Objective To comprehensively understand the working status (competencies, satisfaction, intention to improve professional capabilities) , career planning, retention intention and associated factors after fulfilling the preadmission commitments in TAMG working in Hainan's primary care after completing the "5+3" standardized general residency program, providing a basis for the optimization of incentive policies for training and retaining general practitioners (GPs) , and for medical colleges to determine the orientation and development direction of a general practice school (department) . Methods From April 25 to May 6, 2021, by use of cluster sampling, 615 GPs (including 309 TAMG trained with the "5+3" standardized general residency program who work as a GP in primary care after graduation, 56 assistant GPs trained with the "3+2" program, and 250 GPs trained with general medicine before shifting to the post) were selected from 19 cities (counties) in Hainan Province to attend a self-administered questionnaire survey for collecting information about their capabilities, satisfaction and intention to improve professional capabilities. At the same time, 1 574 leaders and colleagues of the TAMG were invited to evaluate the capabilities of the TAMG. The factors influencing the retention intention of the TAMG after fulfilling their preadmission commitments in primary care were analyzed by binary Logistic regression. For further understanding the working status, life and thoughts on the job of the TAMG, the offline research team of this study conducted field investigation in three primary hospitals (one in Haikou, one in Qiongzhong, and one in Sanya) , and held a group discussion with directors of health committees of Haikou, Qiongzhong and Sanya, and directors of the three primary hospitals, as well as 38 randomly selected TAMG from May 7 to 8, 2021. Abstract Species distributions are one of the fundamental factors needed for understanding and conserving wildlife. While the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species is the primary applied reference for biodiversity conservation, limitations in data availability and analyses of the distributions of some species may limit accurate threat classification assessments and conservation recommendations. Improving the accuracy of species distributions in light of growing data and analytical methods is a key step to increasing the efficacy of the Red List. In this study, we reassessed the distribution of takin (Budorcas taxicolor tibetana), a large ungulate in Sichuan Province, southwest China, classified by the IUCN as vulnerable. Using species distribution models and reported habitat requirements, we updated the takin distribution map. Our updated distribution range in the study area (79,449 km2) was 61.31% of the current distribution range (CDR) on the IUCN Red List. This reduction was in large part due to the inclusion in the CDR of substantial areas of lowland plains, high human disturbance, and non‐forest habitat, which provide no suitable habitat for takin. According to our results, suitable takin habitat covered 18.97% of the CDR, suggesting a substantially overestimated distribution. However, there are high proportions of habitat (40%) still covered by the nature reserve network, indicating the importance of protected areas (PAs) in the conservation threaten species. We recommend that experts apply the basic approach presented herein to update the Red List distributions for more species to increase the accuracy of assessments and resulting conservation applications.

A rapid and accurate diagnostic modality is essential to prevent the spread of SARS-CoV-2. In this study, we proposed a SARS-CoV-2 detection sensor based on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) to achieve rapid and ultrasensitive detection. The sensor utilized spike protein deoxyribonucleic acid aptamers with strong affinity as the recognition entity to achieve high specificity. The spherical cocktail aptamers-gold nanoparticles (SCAP) SERS substrate was used as the base and Au nanoparticles modified with the Raman reporter molecule that resonates with the excitation light and spike protein aptamers were used as the SERS nanoprobe. The SCAP substrate and SERS nanoprobes were used to target and capture the SARS-CoV-2 S protein to form a sandwich structure on the Au film substrate, which can generate ultra-strong "hot spots" to achieve ultrasensitive detection. Analysis of SARS-CoV-2 S protein was performed by monitoring changes in SERS peak intensity on a SCAP SERS substrate-based detection platform. This assay detects S protein with a LOD of less than 0.7 fg mL−1 and pseudovirus as low as 0.8 TU mL−1 in about 12 min. The results of the simulated oropharyngeal swab system in this study indicated the possibility of it being used for clinical detection, providing a potential option for rapid and accurate diagnosis and more effective control of SARS-CoV-2 transmission. The impact of changing meteorological conditions on crop quality has become a trending topic in current agriculture research. In this study, we analyzed the combined effects of both meteorological conditions and key stages on the nutritional quality of maize based on the data of field-staged sowing trials from 2018 to 2022. The results are as follows: (1) The key stage of meteorological conditions affecting the content of major nutritional qualities of maize is from 6 d before to 35 d after flowering. (2) The maximum temperature from 6 d before to 8 d after flowering, average temperature from 5 d before to 20 d after flowering, and minimum temperature from 9–20 d after flowering have significant positive effects on protein, fat, and essential amino acids, respectively; the daily difference in temperature from 9 to 35 d and 24 to 35 d after flowering have a significant negative effect on crude fiber and essential amino acids, respectively, and the daily difference in temperature from 24 to 35 d and the minimum temperature from 5 d before to 35 d after flowering have a significant effect on non-essential amino acids. (3) When the maximum temperature during the key stage of nutritional quality is 31.2 °C, the average temperatures are 24.9 °C and 22.4 °C, the minimum temperature is 18.9 °C, and the daily difference in temperature is 15.0 °C, the contents could reach the optimal values of 9.66% (protein), 4.80% (fat), 4.97% (crude fiber), 40.39 g·kg−1 (essential amino acids), and 58.96 g·kg−1 (non-essential amino acids), respectively. The findings provide a basis for adjusting the sowing period to improve the nutritional quality of maize in the context of climate change. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
