3. Influence of Sports Activities on Community Consciousness and Peer Attachment of Children in Regional Community Child Center.

Background/Objectives: The purpose of this study is to find out the influence of sports activity on community consciousness and peer attachment of children in regional community child center. Methods/Statistical analysis: The subjects were 41 children including 23 children of three regional community child care centers who participated in sports activities for 2 hours every Saturday for 10 weeks and 18 children who did not exercise. As a survey tool, a questionnaire asking about community consciousness and peer attachment was used before and after the exercise. Independent t-test and paired t-test conducted to verify the quantities of changes pre and post. Findings: The conclusions as follows; First, as a result of comparing changes in community consciousness before and after sports activities of children in regional child centers, it was found that the 'sense of unity and 'a sense of belonging' among the sub-variables of community consciousness improved. Second, as a result of comparing the community consciousness of children participating in sports activities and non-participating children, the sense of unity and sense of belonging of children who participated in sports were higher. Third, as a result of comparing peer attachment before and after sports activities of children in regional child centers, it was found that 'communication' increased and 'sense of alienation' decreased after participation in sports. Fourth, as a result of comparing the peer attachment of children who participated in sports activities and non-participating children, the sense of trust and communication of children who participated in sports were high. Improvements/Applications: It is necessary to provide a variety of group sports programs to children in order to increase the sense of intimacy, belonging, and trust with peers at the local community children's center. 4. Relation between University Life Adaptation and Future Aspiration of Art Majoring University Students

Background/Objectives: This study has purpose to investigate the relation between university life adaptation and future aspiration of art major university students. Methods/Statistical Analysis: Art major university students were selected as a population in which a total of 367 subjects were gathered with 122 dance majors, 87 music majors, and 158 design majors. Questionnaires were used as the investigation tool in this research as a purposive sampling method. Collected data were analyzed by exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis, correlation analysis, one-way ANOVA, t-test, and multiple regression analysis. Findings: First, music majors showed higher difference between university life adaptation and future aspiration, university satisfaction, academic adaptation, and major job satisfaction aspiration than dance or design majors in which dance majors showed higher socioeconomic status aspiration than music majors or design majors. Also, higher family average income showed higher university satisfaction, academic adaptation, and socioeconomic status aspiration. Academic ability of fathers showed difference in academic adaptation. Students with fathers of academic ability of high school graduation or higher are showed higher academic adaptation than middle school graduation. Second, as a result of looking into the difference between university life adaptation and future aspiration according to participation in majors of art major university students. Generally, higher practice frequency showed higher academic adaptation, university satisfaction, and major job satisfaction aspiration. Third, academic adaptation showed to have positive influence on socioeconomic status aspiration. Academic adaptation and university satisfaction showed to have positive influence on job satisfaction aspiration of art majoring university students. Application/Improvements: The job of art majoring students already demand keen competition. Therefore this research is provided students majoring in art with new art field jobs and employments information.

5. The Relationship between the Participation in Life Dance, Perception of Health and Lifestyle in the Elderly

Background/Objectives: This study was conducted to review the relation among the elderly participation in life dance, their health perception and lifestyle. Methods/Statistical Analysis: This study carried out a survey with 210 the elderly aged 60 or older. The survey as the research tool consists of total 32 questions. A self-assessment was used and for those who had difficulty understanding the questions, 1 researcher and 2 research assistants helped the subjects. The verification between each variable was done through a one-way ANOVA, after which a multiple regression analysis was conducted. Findings: In terms of health perception in accordance with individual characteristics, there was a difference in physical confidence across gender, education. The more they perceived themselves to be rich, the higher the physical confidence and improvement in stamina. The more they perceived their health status to be very good, their physical confidence, improvement in stamina and mental confidence were higher. Second, the more they perceived their health status to be overall good, the sub-categories of the lifestyle which are the socially active and the traditionalists ranked higher. Third, the health awareness of the life dance experience was significantly improved on physical fitness and stamina. Forth, the socially active lifestyle was significant in terms of dance period, while the traditionalist was significant for dance type and duration. Fifth, health perception appeared to have a significant effect on all lifestyle types. Application/Improvements: The participation by the elderly in life dance has a positive effect on health perception and lifestyle. Health perception was applied differently according to the lifestyle type.

6. The Effects of Personal Traits and Exercise Participation on Well-dying and Life Quality of the Male Elderly

It is human’s basic desire that he improves his life quality to maintain happy and healthy life throughout his life. Therefore, they participate in exercises to maintain healthy and happy life before death. This study aimed to analyze the effects of personal traits and exercise participation on well-dying and life quality of the male elderly. This study collected total 361 samples with 292 participating and 69 non-participating elderly males in exercise from Seoul, Daejeon City and Kyunggi Province. The questionnaire was composed with 6 questions on personal traits, 4 on exercise participation, 12 on welldying, and 9 on life quality. To verify research subjects, Analysis of variance (ANOVA), t-test and multiple regression analysis were performed. The results of this study were as follows. First, the elderly with higher academic background had higher physical and mental health of life quality. The married elderly had higher social health than the divorced and estranged. The wealthy elderly had higher physical and mental health than the economically deprived and wealthless in economical state. In physical condition, the elderly with high physical condition had higher physical and mental health than the one with very bad. The elderly participating in exercise had higher physical and mental health than the non-participating. Second, the elderly exercised during 3 hours had higher physical and mental health than the one during 1 hour, and, according to exercise period, the one had done less than 1 year had higher physical health than the one more than 15 years. Third, among sub variables of well-dying, death anxiety had negative effect on physical health, and, preparation for death, necessity of education for preparing death, and acceptance attitude for death had positive effects on mental health. On social health, preparation for death and acceptance attitude for death had positive effects, and death anxiety had negative effect.

7. Effects of parents and teachers’ support of autonomy and degree of recognition on career preparation behavior of undergraduate students in art major

This study selected the undergraduate students in art major as the population, and collected a total of 367 students, including 122 major in dance, 87 major in music major and 158 major in design major. In order to solve the research problems, exploratory factor analysis and correlation analysis were performed using the SPSS Ver20.0 statistical program, followed by one-way ANOVA, t-test, and multiple regression analysis. As a result, first, the difference of parents and teachers’ support of autonomy and career preparation behavior according to the personal characteristics of undergraduate students in art major showed that musical department was higher than dance and design department in major satisfaction and teacher autonomy. In career counseling and information gathering, dance and music were higher than design. In the gender, female counseling was higher than male counseling. There was no difference between family average income and mother's education level. Second, as a result of difference in career preparation behavior according to the recognition of major in undergraduate students in art major, it was found that career counseling and information gathering were higher than those who were very satisfied or satisfied with major. Third, parents and teachers’ support of autonomy had a positive effect on parental autonomy support in career counseling, career counseling, and autonomy support in information gathering. Therefore, the degree of awareness of the major and parents ‘and teachers’ support of autonomy seems to be related to career preparation behavior.
