Youth is one of the most emphasized life periods in the 21st century. Many studies in national and international literature examine youth from different perspectives. This study focuses on scientific articles on youth, which can be evaluated within the scope of social sciences based on the literature in Türkiye. The study aims to systematically analyse the Turkish youth articles published in academic refereed journals. In this direction, by using the keywords "young", "youth", "young people", "adolescent", "adolescence", "adolescents", "university", "highereducation", "high school", "emerging", "Y generation", and "Z generation", a search was carried out in databases such as ISAM, Sobiad, Araştırmax, TEI, ERIC, Jstore, DOAJ, especially DergiPark, and Google Scholar, which host most of the academic refereed journals published in Türkiye. In the first scan, 7759 documents were identified. After the elimination of irrelevant studies in the data cleaning phase, a data set consisting of 6021 articles was created. While analysing the articles in the data set, the academic review form created by the researchers, which allows the collection of bibliometric data in a numerical form, was used. These data were analysed using IBM SPSS Statistics 25 package program. Percentage and frequency values were used in the analysis of the data. As a result of the analyses, it has been observed that the issue of youth in Türkiye has attracted increasing attention since 2002. In those youth studies, articles using quantitative methods are predominant. The main topics that stand out are education, mental health, health, population problems, consumption, addiction, and social media. In addition, according to the findings obtained, the most studied youth segment is higher education students, the most used data collection tool is scale, and the most used analysis method is frequency and percentage analysis. It is expected that this study, which reveals how the youth issue is handled in Türkiye with numerical data and ratios, will give an idea to researchers who will study this issue in the future and shed light on their studies. Academic writing aims to disseminate scholarly knowledge to a target audience in concise language. During this process, translators sometimes translate academic texts into foreign languages, so that the output of scholarly research can be read by speakers of different languages. In such cases, translators are to translate the source text into the target language in a clear and comprehensible language. This paper discusses how the authors of scholarly texts can structure their writing properly, so that they can help translators compose clear and concise translation output. Although the knowledge and skills of the translator are a key consideration in ensuring the quality of translated texts, the source text itself is highly influential in the quality of the output. Furthermore, although they might partially differ from one language to another, academic writing has some well-established conventions. Therefore, translators might experience some problems when they translate scholarly texts. This study aims to pinpoint such issues and to offer viable strategies that could be used for solving them before the translation process. Commonly encountered problems that impair the quality of the translation output are as follows: wordiness, ambiguous expressions, failing to consider the discourse structure of the target language while organising the source text, using conjunctions carelessly, using the passive voice unnecessarily, using indirect language to express ideas, using synonymous words sequentially, typos, and other similar problems. Though experience in academic translation can help solve some of these issues, it might not be possible to produce good translation output if the source text is poorly written. Success in academic translation can be achieved through collaboration between the author of an academic text and its translator. Meta-analysis is a quantitative review method that combines the findings of studies conducted on a particular subject within a certain systematic framework and aims to reach an aggregate conclusion from these results. This overall result, called the effect size, is calculated, and interpreted by statistical techniques and sensitivity analyses specific to meta-analysis. Meta-analysis is widely used in health sciences and different disciplines. It has been more popular in recent years. Meta-analysis is used as an effective review method in educational sciences as well as in medical sciences. It provides researchers the opportunity to see the data of many studies in a holistic way and reach general results. in this study, the meta-analysis method was explained in outline. The basic concepts and models of meta-analysis are defined. The stages of performing a meta-analysis study are explained. It is known that the maritime industry is intertwined with scientific developments. Considering the number of scientific research and support projects, the relationship between the scientific community and the industry is getting stronger day by day. The research aims to determine the main trend in the articles published between 2011-2022 in the journals published in the field of maritime management and indexed in SSCI-Social Science Citation Index. To determine the trend in the field of maritime management, the keywords of 1528 articles published in 3 journals determined according to the limitations were analyzed. As a result of keyword and network analysis, ports, maritime transport, liner shipping, container terminals, and data envelopment analysis-DEA are the most used keywords. The most important result obtained as a result of this study is that the events in the world (war, pandemic, terrorism, piracy, etc.) are in a rapid upward trend in the field of maritime business management and the scientific community has shown a rapid reaction on these issues. Is history a science or an art? There are several ways of looking at this well known and frequently debated question. One way would be to look at the categorization of disciplines as made by the Academia Europaea. This organization has given a great deal of thought to the matter, resulting for the moment in the rather practical solution of essentially distinguishingn four broad categories: Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Life Sciences. It is noticeable that, apart from the Humanities, all other scholars use the term 'science' to describe their work. But not all of them will be considered as scientists proper because, in the English language, the word science (or sciences) in its simple form, without any adjective, refers exclusively to the natural sciences. Bilim kuramının kendisine doğa bilimlerini konu edindiği hatta kendi özel inceleme alanını doğa bilimlerine göre kurguladığı malumdur. Ancak on dokuzuncu yüzyılda sosyal bilimlerin doğası ve yöntemi üzerine tartışmalar, yirminci yüzyıldaki felsefi yönelişler bilimin taban sorununu yeniden tartışmaya açmıştır. Felsefe, doğa ve sosyal bilimlerde ortaya çıkmış olan değişim ve sarsıntılar nedeniyle sürece müdahil olmak zorunda kalmıştır. Çünkü bilimin dayandığı zemin ile derin araştırma süreçleri sonucunda elde ettiği kazanımlar, kendi temelini inşa edecek ya da meşrulaştırabilecek bir durumu ortaya çıkarmadı. Bilimin “şeylerin doğası hakkında gerçeklere ulaşmanın tek güvenilir yöntemi” olduğu iddiasını temellendirecek bir zemin bulunamadı. Bu noktada yeni bir bilgi-kuramsal (yani felsefi) yönelime ihtiyaç duyulmuştur. Buna ek olarak, felsefenin bilimleri yeni bir tarzda ele alması, bilimin ön kabullerini daha önce hiç olmadığı kadar dikkatli biçimde incelemesi ve bunları çözümlemesi, felsefe ile bilim arasında yeni bir ortak zeminin teşekkül etmesini sağlamıştır. Bu zemine rağmen söz konusu boşluğun felsefe olmaksızın doldurulabileceğine yönelik yaklaşımlar da mevcut olmuştur. Söz gelimi 1930’lu yıllarda Viyana Çevresinin çalışmalarıyla ortaya çıkmış olan "neopozitivizm" veya "mantıkçı empirizm" klasik bilgi kuramına alternatif olma iddiasını dillendirmiş ve felsefe karşıtı bir tutum ortaya koymuştur. Ancak son tahlilde bu girişimler bilim alanında felsefeye olan ihtiyacı giderememiştir. Günümüzde felsefenin diğer bütün terminolojileri aşan bir ‘nihai terminoloji’ geliştirebileceği fikrinden vazgeçerek, insani araştırmanın tüm alanlarına eleştirel yaklaşımıyla eşlik eden ve bu alanların doğasına dair tahlillerde bulunan bir araştırma programı olduğunu; sorgulama ve kendi sistematiği içinde tutarlı cevaplar verebilme arayışı olduğunu fark etmek gerekir. Bu husus felsefenin kesin bilgileri değil muhtemelleri nasıl ve nereden temin edebileceğimiz bir alan olduğunu; onun deneyimlerimizi kendi gerçekliği içinde açımlayan; hayatın aktüel durumlarını rapor ederek deneyimlerimizi “inşa eden” bir faaliyeti temsil ettiği kabul edilebilir. Bu tebliğ, felsefenin bir insan araştırma programı olarak günümüzde ne söyleyebileceğini ortaya koymayı hedefler. * Bu çalışma, 2. Türkiye Sosyal Bilimler Sempozyumu’nda sözlü olarak sunulan ancak tam metni yayımlanmayan “Sosyal Bilim Disiplini / Araştırma Programı Olarak Felsefe Günümüze Ne Söyler?” adlı tebliğin içeriği geliştirilerek ve kısmen değiştirilerek üretilmiş hâlidir.

Akademik dergi yayıncılığı, popüler dergi yayıncılığına göre oldukça zordur. Dergilerin uymaları gereken hukuki, mali, akademik, etik ve teknik kurallar ve ilkeler bulunmaktadır. Tüm bunların dışında teknik yönü ağır basan indekslere başvuru ve süreç takibi de aktif olarak çalışan bir-iki kişinin sorumluluğundadır. Her indeksin kriterleri ve başvuru süreçleri farklıdır. Onlarca indeksin kriterini takip etmek ve başvuru süreçlerini yürütmek, bu konuda tecrübesi olmayan ilk defa dergide görev alan kişilerce doğal olarak etkin şekilde yürütülememektedir. Zaten editöryal süreç, editörlere yoğun bir iş yükü getirdiğinden dergilerde eksiklikler ortaya çıkmaya başlar ve indekslere başvuru ve süreç takibi de aksar. Türk üniversiteleri tarafından yayımlanan dergilerinin indekslere kabul oranı istenilen seviyede değildir. Kabul oranının düşük olmasında, dergilerin indekslerin kriterlerine yeterince uyamaması faktörü öne çıkmaktadır. Ulusal (TR Dizin) ve uluslararası tüm akademik indekslerin, dergi kabulü için çeşitli kriterleri bulunmaktadır. İndekslere başvuru ve kabul alma süreçlerinde yaşanan zorlukları en aza indirmek amacıyla bir editör olarak tarafımca ulusal ve uluslararası indekslerin kriterleri incelenmiştir. Ayrıca Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA) ve World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) gibi uluslararası kuruluşların akademik yayıncılıkla ilgili ilkeleri de taranmıştır. İndeksler ve işleyişlerine dair alan yazını da incelenmiştir. Elde edilenlere, editörlük sürecinde edinilen tecrübeye dayalı bilgiler de eklenerek akademik dergilerin güçlü ve geliştirilmeye açık yönlerini tespitte kullanılmak üzere Hakemli Dergi SWOT Analizi geliştirilmiştir. Bu SWOT analizi uygulanarak dergilerin ulusal ve uluslararası indekslerin hangi kriterlerine tam olarak uyduğu ve hangilerinde eksikleri bulunduğu tespit edilebilmektedir. Geliştirilen sistem sayesinde gelişmeye açık yönlerin nasıl iyileştirileceği de uygulamaya dönük bilgi olarak editörlere raporlanabilmektedir.

With the development of technology, the number of tools and techniques offered to researchers working in the field of social sciences is increasing. Techniques such as big data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, which allow large volumes of data to be easily integrated into research and interpret these data in the most accurate and fastest way, are now more widely used in the field of social sciences. The aim of this study is to determine the usage areas of concepts such as big data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, which are accepted as today's digital transformation tools, in social science research and to introduce the opportunities these tools offer to researchers. In this context, internationally published qualified studies are examined, and a review is presented about how these tools are applied to scientific research in the field of social sciences, what benefits and advantages they provide to researchers, and development trends. In order for an academic text to be considered appropriate in the community, it needs to exhibit disciplinary and cultural-based linguistic conventions. With the advances in corpus linguistics, scholars have been able to reveal the employment of these conventions in academic genres, one of which is lexical bundles. Simply defined as recurrent word combinations, lexical bundles reflect prominent functions in academic genres, as they deal with discourse organization, writer-reader negotiation, and stance construction, all of which achieve academic persuasion. Although the previous research has established the importance of lexical bundles, there is much less information about the disciplinary variations in the use of lexical bundles in academic genres. Adopting an automated frequency-driven approach, this research attempted to identify lexical bundles in research articles in the social sciences. Based on the investigation of 4-word lexical bundles in a corpus of research articles written between 2010 and 2019 in applied linguistics, marketing, and political sciences, we observed an impact of disciplinary variation on the overall lexical bundle usages. Concerning the structural and functional distributions of word strings, we observed differences across the disciplines, indicating that the academic communities might have a decisive role in text construction, yielding divergence across the disciplines in the social sciences. Despite differences, we also observed some similarities regarding the structural and functional sequences of bundles across the disciplines, indicating that the social sciences, an umbrella field in academia, has its own merits resulting in convergence across different disciplines. İslam’ın ortaya çıktığı 7. yy. Arabistan yarımadası iktisadi ve siyasi açıdan olduğu kadar kültürel olarak da dönenim iki büyük dünya gücünden biri olan Sâsânî imparatorluğu etkisi altındadır. Sâsânîlerin Mecusi inanç sistemi gibi Cahiliye dönemi Arapları da özünde düalist bir kozmolojiye inanmaktadır. İnsanı, “iyicil” ve “kötücül” güçler arasında kalmış bir varlık olarak düşünen Cahiliye Araplarının dünyasında Allah’ın yanı sıra “cinler, şeytanlar” türünden kötücül güçlerin de insan üzerinde tesirde bulunabildiklerine inanılmaktadır. Genel kabul olarak daha çok “puta tapıcılık” üzerinden anlaşılmaya çalışılan Cahiliyede döneminde putlar aslında bu metafizik güçlerin tecessüm etmesi için dikilmiş sureta beden işlevi görür. Dolayısıyla putların bizzat kendileri tanrı değildir; tıpkı insan ruhunun, bedende tezahür etmesi gibi metafizik varlıkların “ete – kemiğe bürünmesi” yani görünür âlemde mekân tutmasını sağladıkları için onlara ibadet edilir. Ancak düalist inanış gereği müşrikler meleklerin tecessüm etmesi için şehrin merkezinde Kâbe’nin etrafına putlar diktikleri gibi, şeytani güçler için de yabanıl yerlerde, ıssız mekânlarda putlar diker mabetler, sunaklar yaparlar. İbn Kelbî’nin aktardığına göre örneğin Uzza putu bir dişi şeytan olup sunağı Mekke’nin 45 km. kadar kuzey doğusunda Batn-ı Nahle vadisinde bulunmaktadır. Sonuç olarak Cahiliye dönemi kozmolojinin asıl karakteristik özelliği, iyicil güçlerin yanı sıra kötücül metafizik varlıların da insan hayatına tesir edebildiği inancıdır. Bu iki metafizik güç arasında kalan insanoğlunun başına gelenler de çatışmanın sentez sonucu şeklinde gerçekleşen ve zaman anlamına gelen “Dehr” kavramı ile açıklanır. İslam, evrende Allah’ın dışında bir gücün varlığa böylesi bir tesir kabiliyetini kesin bir dille reddeder. İslam’ın “şirk” olarak nitelediği ve lanetlediği çoktanrıcılık da özünde bu düalizmdir. Kur’an’da bu durum, “İki ilah edinmeyin, O tek bir ilahtır” (en-Nahl, 16/51.) şeklinde vurgulanır. İslam, kozmolojik olarak sadece Allah’ın iradesini geçerli kılmakla fizik âlemdeki düzeni ve aklı da tekleştirmiş olur. Böylece tek bir aklın hükmünün geçerli olduğu evrende rasyonel düşünce yönünde önemli bir adım atılmıştır. Hatta Kur’an’da Hz. Peygamber’in diğer insanlar gibi bir “beşer” olduğu, doğaüstü herhangi bir kabiliyetinin olmadığı, “gayb” yani zamanın ya da maddi imkânların el verdiğinin ötesine ilişkin olayları bilmediği vurgulanır. Nitekim Hz. Peygamber’in insanüstü bir iddiasının olmaması nedeniyle müşrikler onu “sıradanlıkla” suçlarlar ve anlattıklarının da sadece “insan sözü” olduğunu ileri sürerler. Ancak İslam burada da kalmaz, Hz. Muhammed ile nübüvvetin de sona erdiğini ilan eder. Buna göre Allah’ın Hz. Muhammed’den sonra başka bir kimseyi toplumsal bağlayıcılığı olan bir ilahi mesajın taşıyıcısı olarak muhatap alması söz konusu olmayacaktır. Bundan böyle insanoğlu rasyonel, tutarlı tek bir aklın geçerli olduğu dünyada yolun devamını kendi başına yürüyecektir. Elbette ki bu yolculukta başta son vahiy Kur’an’ın ve insanlığın o güne kadarki tüm müktesebatının ışığından faydalanılacaktır, ancak bir peygamber rehberliği söz konusu olmayacaktır. Klasik literatürde “peygamberliğin mühürlenmesi” olarak tarif edilen bu durum, düşünce tarihi bakımından da insanoğlu için yeni bir aşamayı ifade etmektedir. Ne var ki İslam tarihinde Hz. Peygamber’in vefatı sonrası yaşanan ihtilafın tarafları, siyasi pozisyonlarını okülktist argümanlarla temellendirmeye yönelince tüm bu rasyonelleşme akamete uğrar. Özellikle Emevîler döneminde siyasi meşruiyet toplumdan alınamadığından metafizik iddialarla temellendirilir. Klasik kaynaklara göre ilk defa Muaviye için “tanrının yeryüzündeki gölgesi” ifadesi kullanılır. Aynı yöntemle Kerbela’da yaşananlar gibi trajik olaylara ilişkin de teolojik izahlar getirme imkânı doğar. Bu durum Cahiliye döneminde bilinen ve Dehr kavramını ortaya çıkaran iyicil ve kötücül güçler arasındaki diyalektik ilişkinin bu sefer de Allah’a “kötülük” (şer) isnat edilerek yeniden üretilmesine yol açar. Tüm bu yorumlara karşı itirazlar İslam düşüncesinde Allah’ın zatına ilişkin ilk tartışmaların da temelini teşkil eder.

Tarihsel süreçte toplumlar, teknolojideki, kültürdeki, ideolojilerdeki değişimler vb. etkisiyle daha karmaşık toplumsal yapılara doğru evirilmiştir. Fizik bilimlerde, teknolojideki gelişmeler çok hızlı gelişmiş, sosyal bilimlerde, kültürde olan değişimler ise aynı hızda ilerleyememiştir. Ancak, bütün bir tarihin de gösterdiği gibi, sosyal bilimler gelişmeden, ne fizik bilimlerin, ne de sosyo-ekonomik gelişmelerin yerini bulması olanaklı değildir. O nedenle buradaki makalede, öncelikle, bilimsel yaklaşımlar dikkate alınarak, genel olarak bilimin ve sosyal bilimlerin sağlam temeller üzerinde oturması üzerinde durulmuştur. Devamında bazı önemli teorisyenlerin, düşünürlerin görüşlerine de yer verilerek, toplumsal gelişme açısından sosyal bilimlerin işlevi, farklı yaklaşımların düşünce dünyasına kazandırdıkları zenginliklerle anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır. Aynı zamanda toplumlardaki değişmelere dikkat çekilerek, sosyal bilimlerin bu değişimlerle olan ilişkisi, etkileşimi açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Buradaki satırlarda yer alan derinliğine incelemeler ve analizlerle toplumsal gelişme açısından sosyal bilimlerin işlevini değerlendirmek makalenin amacıdır. Sağlıklı bir toplumsal gelişme olabilmesi için, sağlıklı bir temelde gelişen sosyal bilimlere ihtiyaç bulunmaktadır. Bu durum ise, konu üzerinde gerçekleştirilen makalenin farkındalık yaratma açısından ne kadar önemli olduğunu açıklamaktadır. Çalışmada literatür taraması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. İncelenen teoriler ve yaklaşımlar, literatür taraması yöntemi benimsenerek, yorum ve analizlerle güçlendirilmek istenmiştir.

In this study, the curricula of Social Sciences courses (history, geography, citizenship, economics ) at the upper secondary level, the objectives, contents, instruction and assessment methods and techniques of the courses in Turkey, Germany, France, England and the USA are compared. Based on the data and using mainly the horizontal approach, a curriculum model is suggested for the social science education at the upper secondary level in Turkey. The websites of the ministries of education and related networks were investigated and curricula of social sciences courses, related laws as well as articles accessed were made use of through documentary and literary survey method in completing the study. The findings of the study show that social science teaching at the upper secondary level in Turkey is based on a disciplinary approach and puts emphasis on national elements. It is essential to implement an inter-discipliner approach in social science teaching at the upper secondary level in Turkey or employ some thematic strands which consist of both national and universal themes and values to construct new curricula of social sciences courses. Sosyal bilimler içinde kendini özgün bir disiplin olarak geliştirme yönünde ilerleyen iletişim bilimleri, felsefe ile henüz doğru bir ilişki kuramamıştır. Fakat bu sorun, sosyal bilimlerde “olgu”nun tanımlanmasına ilişkin epistemolojik güçlükten gelen genel bir sorundur. Sosyal bilimlerdeki “pozitivist”, konvansiyonalist” ve “realist” epistemolojilere karşılık gelen “izleyici araştırmaları”, “söylem analizi” ve “eleştirel yaklaşım” gelenekleri, iletişim araştırmalarının felsefeyle ilişkisindeki farklı perspektifleri ifade eder. Makalemizde, kitle iletişim teorisinin bıraktığı mirasın, iletişim bilimcilere iletişim pratiği üzerine “karmaşık perspektifler” sunmakta olduğu ortaya konulmaktadır. Bu çeşitlilik içerisinde, kendini özgün bir disiplin olarak konumlandırma arzusundaki iletişim bilimlerinin onu felsefeyle yakın ilişkiye sokacak perspektifi benimsemek durumunda olduğu öne sürülmektedir. Bunun dayanağı olarak, sosyal bilimlerin kökensel olarak bir “sosyal olgu” bilimi değil, “sosyal oluş” bilimi olduğu gerçeğinden hareketle, olguların alanı olan iletişim biliminin ilkelerin alanı olan felsefe ile her zaman yakın ilişki içinde olması gerektiği söylenmektedir. Bu bağlamda, “realist” epistemoloji ve “eleştirel yaklaşım” önerilmektedir. / Communication sciences proceeding as a distinctive discipline within the scope of social sciences was not able to establish a proper relationship with philosophy. However, this problem stems from the epistemological difficulty of defining “phenomenon” in social sciences. “Audience research”, “discourse analysis” and “critical approach” traditions corresponding to “positivist”, “conventionalist” and “realist” epistemologies in social sciences, express various perspectives in the relation between communication sciences and philosophy. Our article renders the idea that the inheritance of mass communication theory presents communication scientists with “complicated perspectives” on communication practices. Within this variety, it is asserted that communication sciences aspiring to position itself as a distinctive discipline is supposed to adopt a perspective making it establish a closer relationship with philosophy. Based on the fact that social sciences are not a science of “social facts” but of “social phenomenon”, it is asserted that communication sciences, being a scope of the phenomenon should always be in a close relationship with philosophy, being a scope of tenets. In this context, “realist epistemology” and “critical approach” are suggested.

Kelâm âlimleri ilmi, kadîm ve hâdis olmak üzere ikiye ayırmışlar ve insana ait olanı “hâdis ilim” olarak adlandırmışlardır. Kadîm ilimle hâdis ilmi bağımsız iki ilim olarak görmemişler; içlem kaplam ilişkisiyle kadîm ilmin hâdis ilmi de kapsadığını belirtmişlerdir. Kelâmcıların bu tanımlamasıyla, hangi çerçevede ele alınırsa alınsın, insandan iradî olarak sâdır olan bütün ilimler “hâdis ilim” kapsamına girmektedir. Temel ilimler, aynı varlık alanlarını/konularını farklı açılardan ve farklı metotlarla ele alarak ortaya çıkmışlardır. Ancak bu ilimlere ait müktesebat çoğalınca, ait oldukları epistemolojik ekseni unutarak otonom olma sürecine girince, disiplinler arasında paradigmaya dayalı farklılaşmalar derinleşmeye başlamış; bunun bir sonucu olarak da epistemolojik parçalanma ortaya çıkmıştır. Her disiplin kendi “realitesini” ihdas etme sürecine girince, bilgi disiplinleri arasındaki farklılaşma derinleşerek “ayrımlaşma” sürecine geçmiştir. Disiplinler arasındaki bu olumsuz ilişkiler ağı, insan hayatını da etkileyerek bu minvalde kurumsallaşmayı ortaya çıkarmıştır. Kelâm ilmi, tarih boyunca hep ilkeli bütünleşmeyi sağlama peşinde olduğundan dolayı epistemolojik parçalanmanın ortaya çıkardığı/çıkaracağı olumsuzlukları normatif bir dille ortaya koymakla yükümlüdür. Epistemoloji alanında birlik/uyum sağlanamadığı sürece, küresel düzeyde barış ve uyumun sağlanması düşünülemez. Bu açıdan, konu oldukça geniş kapsamlı olup çok yönlü ve bir arada çalışmayı gerekli kılmaktadır. Burada sadece, teorik düzeyde kelâmın epistemolojik eksen olma imkânı ele alınmaktadır.

The increased rate of technological advancements with Globalization changed, and still changing the industry structures, corporates, the way of working. In recent years Industry 4.0 became one of the prominent subjects. Therefore various corporations and research companies have contributed greatly to the literature of Industry 4.0. In order to find out the fields, countries and authors' contribution to the subject in terms of conducting studies and their influence on other studies, published studies for the last two decades are reviewed with the bibliometric analysis method. The types, key research subjects, the cross-subject relations and collaborations for 1084 document reviewed by the analysis are revealed. With a systematic map that will be created for Industry 4.0, the aim is to indicate the progress of published papers in graphics, to determine the current fields of interest regarding the subject and in turn to guide the potential future researches. Among these results, it is seen that Business and Management fields, and Engineering are the most prominent disciplines in terms of working on Industry 4.0. In the present study, 243 academic studies of Süleyman Demirel University were published in the field of Social Sciences between 2003 and 2017 were analyzed bibliometrically by social network analysis. The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationships of author collaboration, institution and research areas published in citation indices in the field of Social Sciences. It is also aimed to contribute Suleyman Demirel University's scientific publication policy-making process by identifying institutions, academicians and research areas that have a strong position within the network structures according to the centrality measures. In order to evaluate the publications of Süleyman Demirel University in the field of social sciences, jointly published institutions, joint author networks, authorcitation network structure and clusters of research areas were visualized and analyzed through CiteSpace and Ucinet social network software. The results show that Education and Educational Research field is prominent in social sciences. In the evaluation of the cooperation analysis of the institution, it is seen that the institution that Suleyman Demirel University cooperates most in the field of Social Sciences is Hacettepe University. The aim of this study was to investigate the foreign portfolio investments in Turkey whether the effect on BIST 100 Index. Investments in countries can be longterm and real investments as foreign direct investments, as well as short/long-term financial investments as foreign portfolio investments. Foreign direct investments to countries are not considered in this study. Only foreign portfolio investments made are taken into account. Portfolio investments represent investments in money and capital market instruments issued in the country to raise funds within the country. For this purpose, 57 quarters of 2005 Q4 - 2019 Q4 are discussed in the study. It is used as a variable in Turkey on foreign portfolio investments made and BIST 100 Index. Hatemi-J cointegration test and Hacker and Hatemi-J Bootstrap Toda-Yamomoto Causality Test were used as methods in the study. As a result of cointegration test, there is a cointegrated relationship between portfolio investments and BIST-100 index, As a result of the causality analysis, it is concluded that there is causality from portfolio investments to BIST-100 index and from BIST-100 Index to portfolio investments.
