Background: Low back pain is one of the most common disorders of the musculoskeletal system, leading to impaired function and decreased quality of life in many patients. Foot arch alterations may lead to structural changes and/or affect its load distribution. It should be noted that even slight elevations of the foot’s medial longitudinal arch above the norm may lead to changes in load and pressure distribution. Hence, it becomes important to find the relationship between low back pain and altered foot arch indices leading to improper body balance. Aims and Objectives: The aims and objectives of the study are to find any correlation between lower back pain and an altered foot arch index in the Eastern Indian population. Materials and Methods: A total of 60 subjects aged 20–40 years with varying degrees of low back pain were selected. Low back pain scores of the subjects were found using modified oswestry low back pain disability questionnaire. Footprints in standing position using ink were taken on graph paper and the foot arch indices were calculated. Results: 54.16% of the male and 36.11% of female participants had low arched feet, 20.83% of male and 52.78% of female participants had normal arched feet, and 25% of male and 11.11% of female participants had high arched feet with varying degrees of low back pain. 77.42% of the participants with minimal disability due to low back pain were having normal arched feet, 71.43% of the participants with moderate disability due to low back pain were having low arched feet, and 100% of the participants with severe disability due to low back pain were having either high or low arched feet. Conclusion: This study showed that people having either low or high arched feet are at an increased risk of developing acute or chronic low back pain at some stage in their lives. Knowledge of this risk factor might even help people to choose appropriate occupations in the future.

- Abstract
This episode is produced by the Bangladeshi artist duo BLKBX and delves into Dhaka’s arts scenes. It features the city’s transformation towards digitization and the ramifications for artists living and working in the metropole. Dhaka serves as the container of 20 million souls – surviving day to day, yet never failing to smile. It’s probably the world’s least known capital, yet it is a melting pot of joy and fear bundled with hope. There’s a lot happening in Dhaka and the sonic arts do not find themselves isolated from these changes. The city’s transformation towards digitization is not necessarily due to a propagandistic portrayal but to the sheer necessity of survival. Amidst the chaos of navigating everyday challenges for everyday people, the digital world serves as a new form of escape. However, for artists, this dependence can be an impediment – and the creative juices get thrown around in a blender that combines media, art, and technology. In this episode, Dhaka’s artists speak about their personal motivations and processes in the pursuit of art, knowing the challenges ahead. They shed light on how the pandemic has shaped, or perhaps reshaped, the thought process of making art and how technology can be deemed the new normal for them. With a growing underground scene for electronic artists, the city is on the verge of its next domino effect that will create a musical revolution, much like its predecessor rock music – one that was by its people and for its people. The artists zoom out from their comfort zone to explore new dimensions fuelled by creativity and discuss how this will change how we perceive and make art., https://www.librarystack.org/technology-the-new-normal-for-dhakas-artists/?ref=unknown

- Abstract
Vertical Atlas is a new publication on the geopolitics of digital technology. How to navigate the rapidly changing digital geopolitics of the world today? How to make sense of digital transformations and their many social, political, cultural, and environmental implications at different locations around the world? Vertical Atlas brings together the insights of a diverse group of internationally renowned artists, scientists and technologists from different backgrounds and places. From an investigation into the lithium mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo to maps of the fiber-optic submarine cables in the Atlantic and the ride-hailing platforms of China. Vertical Atlas is not a classic atlas that depicts the world in a uniform manner and it is not a collection of traditional maps. It is a set of tools that enable comparisons, connections, and the seeing of connections and contradictions between different and diverse visions, realities and techno-political worlds – through newly commissioned diagrams, interviews, essays and works of art by leading experts from around the world., https://www.librarystack.org/vertical-atlas/?ref=unknown
