Introdução: A anemia falciforme é uma doença genética que afeta a hemoglobina, proteína responsável por transportar o oxigênio pelo corpo. Essa doença pode afetar a gestação, aumentando o risco de complicações para a mãe e para o feto. Objetivo: Descrever a assistência a gestante com anemia falciforme. Metodologia: Revisão integrativa de literatura, realizada na MEDLINE, LILACS e SciELO, por meio dos DeCS: Anemia Falciforme e Gravidez. Resultados e Discussão: A assistência de saúde à gestante com anemia falciforme é de extrema importância para garantir uma gestação segura e saudável. É fundamental que a assistência seja multidisciplinar e personalizada, envolvendo profissionais de diversas áreas, como médicos, enfermeiros, nutricionistas e psicólogos. Essa abordagem integrada permite uma avaliação completa da gestante e a identificação precoce de complicações, além de possibilitar um tratamento individualizado e efetivo. Considerações Finais: Devido à complexidade de estar grávida, uma pessoa acometida por anemia falciforme, precisa realizar adequadamente o pré-natal de alto risco, de modo que, dessa forma, a enfermagem desempenhe a função de acompanhar, esclarecer dúvidas e assistência à gestante durante todo o período gestacional.

However, the appropriate choice of models is essential to obtain high accuracy. The aim was of this study was to evaluate the magnetic susceptibility (χ) potential to estimate soil clay content and to compare the estimation accuracy using linear (simple linear regression, SLR) and nonlinear models (power model, PM, and artificial neural networks, ANNs). An area of approximately 870 ha, cultivated with sugarcane in southeastern Brazil, was delimited and georeferenced for the collection of soil samples. Soil samples were collected every 2.5 ha (0.00–0.25 m), resulting in 372 points. A transect was directed in the area, and another 132 soil samples were collected at regular intervals of 30 m in the same layer. The samples were sent to the laboratory, and χ values were obtained for all points. Pedotransfer functions were developed to estimate the soil clay content using the χ values. The models were calibrated with the 372 points collected from the regular mesh of the 870-ha area, using the 132 points of the transect for validation. Regardless of the type of model applied to the pedotransfer functions, χ proved highly accurate for estimating soil clay content. However, the ANNs and PM increased the estimation accuracy, attenuated the error, and increased the estimation precision for soil samples with clay content below 200 g kg−1. This study aimed to evaluate the potential of different methodologies applied to spectral curves given by DRS to estimate kaolinite (Kt) and gibbsite (Gb), and their spatial variability characterization for the Western Plateau of São Paulo. The Western Plateau of São Paulo has 13 million hectares, 2 million of them covered by basalt and 11 million by sandstones. A total of 600 samples were collected at a depth of 0.0–0.20 m. Calibration curves were constructed with pure minerals for x-ray diffraction (XRD) and DRS techniques. The Kt/(Kt + Gb) ratio and the percentages of Kt and Gb were determined by XRD and using the following three methodologies applied to spectral curves: continuum removal technique (CR), direct ratio of the valley (DRV), and multivariate analysis by partial least squares regression (PLSR). The CR procedure had means similar to those observed by XRD, i.e., 0.90 and 0.92, respectively, while DRV overestimated the ratio, with a mean of 1.32. DRS allowed the estimation of the Kt/(Kt + Gb) ratio for the different geological and landscape compartments of the Western Plateau of São Paulo for the CR and DRV procedures. CR procedure allowed constructing models to be more efficient compared to those obtained by DRV and PLSR. The use of geostatistics to interpolate the data of the ratio Kt/(Kt + Gb) by DRS provided important information to define specific management zones accurately and more economically. The development of fast, accurate and low-cost methods to quantify soil attributes is of paramount importance to enable detailed mapping, mainly in tropical regions where there is great variation of the chemical, physical and mineralogical attributes. Therefore, the aims of this paper were (i) to investigate if visible and near infrared (VIS-NIR) spectroscopy and magnetic susceptibility (MS) can be applied to determine soil attributes at the sandstone-basaltic transition and (ii) evaluate and map their spatial distribution. Calibration models based on VIS-NIR spectroscopy and MS were developed separately for each attribute. Soil samples (0–25 cm depth) were collected at 446 sites, air-dried and passed through a 2-mm sieve and analyzed in the laboratory. To develop models based on soil spectra and laboratory data, the partial least squares regression (PLSR) was used. Already, the MS-based models were calibrated by linear regression between magnetic and laboratory data. The best prediction accuracy parameters were obtained with MS, later with VIS-NIR and lastly with VIS. The more accurate results between the observed and predicted values were found for iron oxide extracted by dithionite (R² = 0.89, RRMSE = 0.02), clay (R² = 0.85, RRMSE = 0.76) and total carbon (R² = 0.83, RRMSE = 1.18) estimated by MS, revealing that this is a good predictor of key properties of studied soils, even with wide chemical and mineralogical variation. Both tools are very attractive for the strategic planning of land use and occupation, mapping large areas with detailed scale, environmental monitoring and precision agriculture.

A caracterizacao do solo e o agrupamento de suas propriedades por meio de analise de componentes principais podem auxiliar na classificacao e na observacao das consequencias da conversao de areas de mata nativa em pastagens. Tais dados podem auxiliar nas praticas de manejo adotadas. Considerando a ausencia de estudos em solos do Cerrado do sudoeste goiano, desenvolvidos de metagranitos da suite Jurubatuba, o objetivo deste trabalho foi classificar e estudar as propriedades fisicas, quimicas e mineralogicas de solos (sob mata nativa e pastagens) do Sudeste Goiano. As coletas de solo e classificacao seguiram o Manual de Metodos de Campo e o Sistema Brasileiro de Classificacao de Solos, respectivamente. Foram estudadas as propriedades fisicas, quimicas e mineralogicas dos solos, bem como feitas analises de componentes principais desses atributos. O perfil 1 sob mata nativa foi classificado como Cambissolo Haplico Tb eutrofico latossolico. O perfil 2 sob pastagem extensiva foi classificado como Latossolo Amarelo eutrofico tipico. E o perfil 3 sob pastagem rotacionada foi classificado como Latossolo Vermelho eutrofico chernossolico. Observou-se que os Latossolos apresentaram maiores valores de densidade do solo e resistencia do solo a penetracao, indicando maior compactacao dos solos. Os mesmos apresentaram maiores quantidades de oxidos de ferro e menor quantidade de nutrientes, como calcio e magnesio. A analise de componentes principais permitiu o agrupamento dos perfis em dois grupos. O Grupo 1 reuniu as propriedades relacionadas aos Latossolos, e o segundo foi relacionado as propriedades do Cambissolo. Assim, a analise dos componentes principais auxilia a compreensao das propriedades dos solos e no agrupamento de solos com caracteristicas semelhantes, a nivel de ordem e de manejo.

In fact, developing cost-effective, environmentally friendly spatial characterization methods for PTEs can facilitate the expeditious, accurate, detailed diagnosis of soil in large areas. In this study, we used three geomorphic surfaces of Oxisols to assess the ability of chemical and X-ray diffraction analyses of iron oxides, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) and magnetic susceptibility (MS) measurements to predict the contents in PTEs (Ba, Co, Cr, Cu, Mn, Mo, Ni, Pb and Zn) and their spatial variability. Magnetic susceptibility and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy allowed well-calibrated prediction models for Ba, Co, Cu, Mn and Ni to be developed, whereas DRS-calibrated methods afforded more accurate prediction of Ba and Mn contents, and magnetic susceptibility-calibrated methods of Co and Ni contents. The correlation between PTEs and free iron contents, and their spatial pattern, testifies to the goodness of the proposed methods for predicting the contents of potentially toxic elements in soils. The color in this soil is presented as an attribute of difficult interpretation on the horizon, and the studies towards a better identification are important. In this sense, the objective of this study was to characterize the color and iron oxides of the ADE clay fraction in Apui region in southern Amazonas. Six trenches were opened, where these profiles were characterized morphologically, and also samples were collected per horizon for later performance of grain size analysis, flocculation, water clay dispersion and chemicals (pH in water and potassium chloride, calcium, magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, potential acidity, f, organic carbon and organic matter) and mineralogical analyses. The data were submitted to principal component analysis. Similar behavior in the studied profiles was found both in physical and chemical attributes. It was concluded that the hematite and goethite, determined by x-ray diffraction and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, besides not presenting significant variations between the studied soils, present similar characteristics to non-anthropogenic Brazilian soils. The color measured by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy proved efficient to indicate variations among the ADEs, proving to be an innovative technique, efficient and promising for indirect quantification of soil characteristics in a simple and low cost manner. This work aims to evaluate the accuracy of different procedures using diffuse reflectance spectroscopy for estimation for iron oxides in the soil. Soil samples were collected at a depth of 0.00–0.20 m in two study areas, with iron oxide content ranging from 22 to 253 g kg − 1 . Hematite (Hm) and goethite (Gt) were quantified using two techniques: X-ray diffraction (XRD) and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The Hm and Gt contents determined by XRD were explained by the content of Hm and Gt estimated by DRS with 99 and 79% accuracy, respectively. The analysis of the amplitude of spectral bands in the second derivative and the continuum removal technique showed higher values of the parameters of the regression equation compared to XRD technique. Considering the time and costs to perform iron oxide analyses, the procedures using DRS were the ones that provided regressions that are able to adjust with greater accuracy the mineral contents, providing explanatory pedotransfer models, compared to oxides obtained by the XRD technique. These results are extremely important because they show great potential of this tool and can help the detailed mapping of various soil attributes based in the mineralogy.

Six Oxisols and one Inceptisol were studied. Spectral and magnetic signatures were determined by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS) and magnetic susceptibility, respectively. Then, the spectral curves and the second derivative calculations were used to determine hematite and goethite contents, as well as soil color after conversion into tristimulus values. Hematite and goethite contents were also obtained by x-ray diffractometry, and soil color was also defined in the field (Munsell color chart). The values for the isomorphic substitution of iron by aluminum and the degree of redness were also determined. DRS can be used to estimate hematite and goethite contents, as well as the color of Cerrado soils in the state of Goias. The spectral signature can point out the main soil properties related to the contents of organic matter, iron oxides, kaolinite, and gibbsite. The magnetic signature, characteristic of soils rich in iron oxides (hematite and goethite), shows the predominance of pedogenic minerals. Soil CO2 emission (FCO2) is a main contributor of atmospheric carbon transfer and is the subject of research aimed at developing effective methods for characterizing and mitigating CO2 emissions. The FCO2 is related to various soil properties including porosity, density and moisture, which are in turn related to gas transfer, O2 uptake and CO2 release, as well as mineralogical components (particularly iron oxides, which are closely associated with aggregation and protection of soil organic matter). As estimated by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS), soil iron oxides such as hematite (Hm) and goethite (Gt) can be useful in determining FCO2. The main objective of this experiment was to assess the usefulness of the mineralogical properties Hm, Gt, and iron oxides extracted by dithionite–citrate–bicarbonate (Fed) to estimate the FCO2 in a sugarcane area under green harvest in southeastern Brazil. The experiment was conducted using an irregular 50 m × 50 m grid containing 89 sampling points 0.50–10 m apart to assess the soil properties. The FCO2 at each sampling point was measured at the beginning of crop growth and 54 days after planting with the use of two portable LI-COR LI-8100 Soil CO2 Flux Systems. The soil properties studied were found to be spatially dependent and exhibited well-defined anisotropy (particularly the mineralogical properties Hm, Gt and Fed). The first two components of a principal component analysis (PC1 and PC2) jointly accounted for 73.4% of the overall result variability with PC1 essentially related to the physical and mineralogical properties of the soil. Based on a multiple linear regression analysis, free water porosity (FWP) and Hm accounted for 71% of the FCO2 variability. Our results indicate that soil preparation and management practices in mechanically harvested sugarcane affect some factors inherent in the soil forming processes, including physical and mineralogical properties, which in turn affect FCO2. These results affirm the potential of DRS as an auxiliary tool for determination of properties that are typically associated with FCO2. In addition, the ensuing method allows for large-area FCO2 mapping to developing greenhouse gas emission inventories for agricultural soils.

To evaluate the epidemiological and clinical aspects of gynecological patients seeking care in the private and public health networks.In this cross-sectional study we analyzed the records of 243 patients (122 public service patients and 121 private service ones), from January 2007 to January 2008. We excluded records of pregnant patients with vaginal bleeding, history of using vaginal creams or gels at intervals of less than 15 days and patients who had sexual intercourse within less than five days before their visit and with incomplete clinical data. Data were analyzed statistically using the Stata software, version 9.2, with a 5% level of significance.The mean age of the patients attending the public health service was 27±12 years-old and 25.9±10.4 years-old for patients attending the private health service, with no statistical difference between means (F=0.5 and p=0.4). Patients attending the public health service had lower education (p0.001), they were preferentially housewives (p0.001), began sexual life early, had a greater number of partners (p0.001), of pregnancies (p0.001) and of deliveries (p=0.004), and mainly used the condom as a contraceptive method (p=0.013). There was no statistical difference between groups regarding the history of sexual transmitted diseases, diagnosis of candidiasis, bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, or neoplasia.Patients attending the public health service have a higher number of pregnancies and births. They are usually housewives with low educational level, their sex life begins early, and they have more partners. However, there was no difference between groups when evaluating breast diseases, gynecological infections, or cancer of the cervix, which suggests that socioeconomic status is not the only element in the determination of the disease and, therefore, other variables should be evaluated.

Objetivando verificar o enraizamento adventício de estacas herbáceas de ramos de abieiro (Pouteria caimito), realizou-se o presente trabalho, utilizando-se estacas com aproximadamente 15 cm de comprimento e tratadas com ácido indolbutírico nas concentrações de 0, 1000, 3000 e 5000 mg dm-3. O experimento foi desenvolvido em viveiro com nebulização intermitente da Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias – UNESP, Campus de Jaboticabal, São Paulo, no verão. O delineamento experimental foi o inteiramente casualizado (DIC), com 4 repetições e 10 estacas por parcela, num total de 160 estacas. As avaliações, realizadas 150 dias após a instalação do experimento, foram: porcentagem de estacas com folhas; porcentagem de sobrevivência das estacas; porcentagem de enraizamento; porcentagem de estacas com calos. Nas condições em que o experimento foi realizado, pode-se concluir que a estaquia é um método viável para a propagação do abieiro e que o tratamento das estacas com o ácido indolbutírico incrementou a capacidade de enraizamento da espécie. The experiment were conducted in a nursery with intermitent artificial mist conditions of the Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias – UNESP, Jaboticabal Campus, São Paulo, in the period of summer. The experimental delineation used was a random design, with 4 repetitions and 10 cuttings per parcel, in a total of 160 cuttings. After 150 days the evaluations were made for: percentage of rooted and survived cuttings, percentage of cuttings with root and with calluses. In the conditions that the experiment was done, can be conclude that the cutting is a viable method to propagate the abiu and the treatment with indolebutyric acid increased rooting in the specie.
