Several recent models that have been put forth to explain bradyseism at Campi Flegrei (CF), Italy, are discussed. Data obtained during long-term monitoring of the CF volcanic district has led to the development of a model based on lithological-structural and stratigraphic features that produce anisotropic and heterogeneous permeability features showing large variations both horizontally and vertically; these data are inconsistent with a model in which bradyseism is driven exclusively by shallow magmatic intrusions. CF bradyseism events are driven by cyclical magmatic-hydrothermal activity. Bradyseism events are characterized by cyclical, constant invariant signals repeating over time, such as area deformation along with a spatially well-defined seismogenic volume. These similarities have been defined as “bradyseism signatures” that allow us to relate the bradyseism with impending eruption precursors. Bradyseism is governed by an impermeable shallow layer (B-layer), which is the cap of an anticlinal geological structure culminating at Pozzuoli, where maximum uplift is recorded. This B-layer acts as a throttling valve between the upper aquifer and the deeper hydrothermal system that experiences short (1-102 yr) timescale fluctuations between lithostatic/hydrostatic pressure. The hydrothermal system also communicates episodically with a cooling and quasi-steady-state long timescale (103-104 yr) magmatic system enclosed by an impermeable carapace (A layer). Connectivity between hydrostatic and lithostatic reservoirs is episodically turned on and off causing alternatively subsidence (when the systems are connected) or uplift (when the systems are disconnected), depending on whether permeability by fractures is established or not. Background: The Subcutaneous-ICD (S-ICD) is emerging as a suitable option for most ICD candidates, however some open issues regarding the sensing algorithm still remain. Objectives: We aimed to examine the performance of the S-ICD sensing algorithm in patients hospitalized for ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), non ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (NSTE-ACS) or chronic coronary syndrome (CCS), before and after revascularization. Methods: We performed a S-ICD automated screening on 75 patients, 21 hospitalized for STEMI, 23 for NSTE-ACS and 31 for CCS, before and after percutaneous revascularization, regardless their eligibility to ICD implantation. Results: Patients did not differ in clinical, electrocardiographic and echocardiographic parameters. Rates of screening pass were significantly lower in STEMI patients compared to NSTE-ACS and CCS (5% vs 56.7% vs 81% respectively, p < .0001). The viability of the primary vector was lower in STEMI patients compared to NSTE-ACS and CCS (33% vs 56% vs 71%, p .027 respectively). After revascularization, there were no more significant differences between groups. Pairing subjects at baseline and after revascularization, STEMI subjects percentages of screening success were respectively 5% and 81% (p < .001) and the rates of primary vector viability were 33% and 81% (p .002). STEMI was the only independent predictor of screening failure at multivariate logistic regression analysis (odds ratio 10.68 confidence interval 2.77–41.38, p = .001) Conclusion: The performance of the S-ICD and possible malfunction detections in the context of an acute ischemic event deserve further evaluation. Adequate patient selection and the development of dynamic device programming are warranted.

L'intervento intende indagare come sia stato percepito il "mito Tasso" nella stampa periodica della prima metà dell'Ottocento. attraverso lo spoglio di numerose gazzette delle varie parti d'Italia si indaga cioè come il tasso persona e la sua storia, come il Tasso personaggio in rivisitazioni poetiche, drammaturgiche, narrative sia stato presentato ai lettori dei giornali quotidiani o comunque periodici, prevalentemente di ambito non letterario. e questo è avvenuto attraverso sia la aneddotica, sia la ricerca di testi e di inediti, sia polemiche e celebrazioni, o gare poetiche,; senza dimenticare letture anche poetiche del personaggio o il rinvenimento di testi che contribuiscono ad arricchire la bibliografia tassiana.

Il contributo ripercorre le occorrenze della nozione di «ben far» all’interno della Commedia, mettendone a fuoco il significato etico sul piano, in particolare, dell’agire civile e politico, e il valore in ordine alla salvezza personale. Il «ben far» dei fiorentini di cui Dante chiede notizia a Ciacco nella controversa sequenza del sesto canto dell’Inferno (vv. 77-84), così come quello dello stesso Dante, esercitato anche attraverso l’opera poetica, secondo la prospettiva municipale e tutta terrena di Brunetto Latini, nel XV, sono insufficienti alla salvezza. Attraverso le tappe dell’incontro con gli accidiosi in Pg XVIII, con Stazio in Pg XXII e delle terzine dedicate a Romeo di Villanova in Pd VI 127-132, si rende evidente che il «ben far» conduce alla salvezza se orientato al vero Bene, compimento e ragione ultima anche dello stesso impegno politico inteso come cooperazione al piano provvidenziale di Dio per la felicità terrena ed eterna dell’uomo.

Il Lucifero dantesco è costruito sulla base di due figure retoriche, l’antitesi e la parodia. Lucifero è antitetico in sé, a significare l’irrimediabile scissura interiore provocata dal peccato; ed è parodico rispetto a Dio, che si sforza di imitare senza riuscirvi. È parodico, non antitetico, come di solito si dice, rischiando in tal modo di attribuire a Dante una visione manichea, che pone sullo stesso piano, sia pure con segno valoriale opposto, Dio e Lucifero. Dante, facendo ricorso alla parodia, vuole invece segnalare, in una feconda simbiosi tra forme e contenuti, la secondarietà del male del male rispetto al bene, la sua impossibilità a esistere senza il bene: esattamente come la parodia non può darsi senza un parodiato che la precede e la fonda.
