Nowadays, vehicle tracking and location identification are necessary for safety. With vehicle tracking, it is also important to record the arrival and departure timings of vehicles. This recorded data will be helpful in different aspects like identifying the stolen vehicle, to observing the transportation system functionality in an organization or any other place. Implementing a smart vehicle monitoring system that combines tracking and data collection is the main goal of the current paper. Additionally, a mobile warning is delivered to the driver's phone when the car arrives late. We can also access this data through mobile applications from anywhere. RFID technology is applied to this system's implementation. Radio Frequency Identification is what RFID stands for. It is a wireless technology which consists of a Tag and Reader as major components. To store the data on the website IoT technology is used. Such systems are simple to construct at a minimal cost when IoT (Internet of Things) and RFID technologies are combined. There is an increase in the number of chronic and heart diseases due to work culture etc. The current hospital-centric system is becoming inefficient to treat patients that demand immediate attention and this can efficiently be implemented by using the Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The aim of this paper is to implement IoT-based health monitoring system which measures temperature, blood pressure, and heartbeat of a patient located remotely and send the data to the doctor for analyzing the condition of the patient. And also an optical light sensor is used to check the light condition in the patient room and based on the sensor value the light will be controlled (ON/OFF). The system is implemented using a BeagleBone Black (BBB) development board. This model saves the work time of the doctors to check the patient's condition. By using the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM), the patient's data is sent to the cloud through which the doctor can monitor the parameters anywhere in the world using the mobile application or web page. High ground magnetic anomalies are observed at western basin of the Sandur schist belt (SSB) near Muraripura village, Karnataka. Sources for these anomalies are inferred due to presence of exposed banded iron formations hosted by metabasalts, arenaous and argillaceous rocks associated with the Donimali Formation of the schist belt. Two varieties of BIF bands are observed in the study area viz. Band 1 and Band 2. The bands 1 and 2 are displaced by lateral strike-slip fault. Band 1 is dominantly composed of banded iron formation, rich in iron ore minerals and silica chert. Band 2 is largely composed of ferruginous quartzite and quartz arenites. Qualitative analysis of the magnetic data indicates that the study area can be divided into three lithologically important BIF/BQ formations. Spectral and quantitative analysis of the magnetic data indicates, the average depth of band 1 is 70 m and band 2 is 130 m. The magnetic data results are well correlated with chemical analysis of borehole and surface rock samples data. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Control of a reaction wheel pendulum, a prototype of an under-actuated system, is easily done using switching control strategies, which combines swing-up control and balancing control schemes. In this article, two novel swing-up control strategies for a reaction wheel pendulum have been proposed. The first swing-up control strategy treats the oscillations of the pendulum as perturbations from the bottom equilibrium point. The second swing-up control is based on interconnection and damping assignment-passivity based control (IDA-PBC). IDA-PBC preserves Euler Lagrangian structure of the system and gives more physical insight about any mechanical system. Any balancing controller can be coupled with the proposed swing-up control strategies to stabilise the pendulum at the top unstable equilibrium position. The control task of balancing the pendulum in top upright position is completed by switching from swing-up scheme to the balancing scheme at the point where the pendulum is very near to the top equilibrium point. Proposed swing-up control strategies have been implemented in real time in switching mode. This paper presents new approaches for certain mechanical characterizations, such as thermal and vibration analyses, of switched reluctance motors (SRMs). The paper presents, in three parts, the modeling and simulation procedure for three-dimensional (3-D) finite. element analysis (FEA)-based flow analysis, flow-analysis-based thermal analysis, and a realistic vibration analysis. Section I documents a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) flow analysis procedure for the evaluation of the air velocity distribution inside the SRM at any speed. Section II presents a prediction method for steady-state and transient thermal characteristics of an SRM, using 3-D FEA. The convection coefficient at various heat-dissipating surfaces inside SRM, which is not a material property, but a quantity that solely depends on the air velocity at the respective surfaces, is the major parameter to be evaluated for an accurate simulation of heat distribution. The results of CFD analysis are used, for the first time on SRM, for this purpose. Windage loss calculation, one of the other applications of CFD, is introduced. Vibration in electric motors is an inevitable, at the same time undesirable, property that originates from four major sources: mechanical, magnetic, applied loads and, to a smaller extent, the associated electronic devices. Section III presents: 1) a thorough numerical study of vibration analysis in SRMs, using 3-D FEA methodology, covering all the above vibration sources except the electronics; 2) a 3-D modal analysis of SRMs including stator and rotor structures, shaft, end shields, bearings, and housing; 3) an unbalanced rotor dynamics analysis; 4) associated harmonic analysis; and 5) a stress analysis under various loading conditions. The 3-D vibration analyses presented in this paper to examine the vibration in SRM as a whole are new additions to SRM vibration analysis. Section IV concludes the paper. This paper consists of three parts. Section I explores two software applications for modeling and simulating the dynamic charactersistics of switched reluctance motors (SRMs). The software applications are the electromechanical structure system (EMSS), which is a tool within the proprietary Maxwell SPICE environment, and power system computer-aided design (PS CAD). The major parameter of an SRM, the nonlinear winding inductance, which determines the dynamic torque, is individually modeled for use with these applications. Simulation of the dynamic torque and the speed for any load is discussed. Section II presents a new stator geometry for SRMs that improves the torque profile. In the new geometry, pole shoes are affixed to the stator poles. The paper discusses a sensitivity study of the torque profile using a two-dimensional finite-element field simulation. Section III presents a frequency spectrum analysis of torque profile using the fast Fourier transform (FFT) capability of MATLAB. This paper presents a thorough numerical study of vibration analysis in electric motors, with particular application to switched reluctance motors (SRMs), using three-dimensional finite-element analysis (3-D FEA) methodology. It covers the major vibration sources: mechanical, magnetic, and applied load. The following analyses are presented. 1) A 3-D modal analysis including stator and rotor structures, shaft, end shields, bearings, and housing. 2) An unbalanced rotor dynamics analysis of the rotor, which is important for deciding on the eccentricity of the rotor mass to ensure that the vibration of rotor and housing is within acceptable limits. 3) A harmonic analysis to identify the range of speeds producing high vibration and noise that should be skipped over quickly during acceleration. 4) A stress analysis under different loading conditions (a simulation of load testing) to predict the deformation of the shaft and rotor. Apart from frequently reported modal analysis on the stator of SRMs in two dimensions, these 3-D vibration analyses are essential to examine the vibration in SRMs as a whole. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
