This study aims to analyse selected variables which influence the self-perceived efficacy in mentor teachers with regard to mentoring student teachers on placement. The Mentor Efficacy Scale (Riggs, 2000) was used as the measuring instrument. Some items were removed, while others were modified for the purpose of specifically researching mentor teachers. Subsequently, exploratory factor analysis was performed (principal component analysis, promax rotation). Based on the result, the final version of the instrument explored two dimensions (general and personal efficacy). Cronbach's alpha confirmed the optimal internal consistency of both the dimensions and the instrument itself. The research group consisted of 128 respondents cooperating with the Faculty of Arts at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. The majority of them comprised respondents with 26-30 and 31 and more years of teaching practice, 6-10 and 11-15 years of mentoring practice. A statistically significant difference was identified in the general efficacy of mentor teachers in terms of the completion of training focused on the development of mentoring skills. Another statistically significant difference was identified in the personal efficacy of mentor teachers in terms of the specific type of practice they are mentoring. Other independent variables such as gender, school type, length of the teaching practice, length of the mentoring practice, teaching qualifications, and position of an official mentor for entry-level colleagues, did not make a statistically significant difference in the perceived general and personal efficacy in mentor teachers. Our findings probably indicate that further education focused on mentoring boosts mentor teachers' cooperating with Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice trust in the benefits of mentoring. Their engagement in the student training boosts their conviction that the students of teaching should receive career development support.

Abstract The transcriptional control of sporulation in Bacillus subtilis is reasonably well understood, but its translational control is underexplored. Here, we use RNA-seq, ribosome profiling and fluorescence microscopy to study the translational dynamics of B. subtilis sporulation. We identify two events of translation silencing and describe spatiotemporal changes in subcellular localization of ribosomes during sporulation. We investigate the potential regulatory role of ribosomes during sporulation using a strain lacking zinc-independent paralogs of three zinc-dependent ribosomal proteins (L31, L33 and S14). The mutant strain exhibits delayed sporulation, reduced germination efficiency, dysregulated translation of metabolic and sporulation-related genes, and disruptions in translation silencing, particularly in late sporulation.

Zirconium alloys are used as a cladding material for fuel elements in nuclear reactors. In the case of severe accident conditions, the possible rapid oxidation of zirconium in steam or/and air may result in intense hydrogen generation and hydrogen–oxide mixture explosion. Advanced technologies for increasing the corrosion resistance of claddings are being investigated in two directions: (a) protective coatings on Zr alloys and (b) the use of new materials for claddings. Coatings with silicon may provide a more protective barrier than the ZrO2 films formed on an alloy cladding during nuclear plant operations. These coatings may also serve as a protective barrier during high-temperature accidents. The current work aimed at developing protective coatings with silicon on zirconium alloys. Multielemental Zr–Si–Cr coatings were formed on Zry-2 alloy using the physical vapor deposition (PVD) method. Long-term oxidation tests were carried out under the following conditions: 360°C/195 bar/63 days/water-simulating PWR water. Obtained results show the protective character of formed layers. The material in the form of silicon carbide grains covered with yttrium–aluminum garnet (SiC + YAG) was prepared using the sol–gel method. The formed powder is the main component for coating formation on Zr–1Nb alloy using the method of suspension plasma spraying (SPS).

This article explores the challenges and methods related to developing fluency in a foreign language for professional purposes at university. It deals with the difficulties faced by both teachers and students in maneuvring through linguistic complexities, overcoming language barriers and mastering specialized terminology relevant to various professional fields. The article highlights the importance of a targeted approach that fosters not only linguistic proficiency but also a deep understanding of cultural distinctions and communication norms, specific for various industries. Additionally, it investigates pedagogical strategies and methods aimed at enhancing fluency acquisition at classes of foreign language for professional purposes. Key challenges in the process of developing fluency at classes of foreign language for professional purposes have been highlighted: linguistic complexity; language barriers; cultural nuances; motivation and engagement; limited practice; fear of making mistakes; individual learning styles and preferences; assessment and feedback. Possible methods for developing fluency have been considered: communicative language teaching; immersion into a targeted language; organizing language exchanges; using authentic materials; role-playing and simulation; fluency-oriented activities, unassisted repeated reading and audio-assisted repeated reading; digital storytelling; vlogging, etc. By highlighting challenges and a certain number of existing methods of fostering fluency development, the article stresses on the necessity to provide regular feedback and correction of mistakes. Creating a favorable, engaging, interactive, and stress-free learning environment in the classroom has been stressed as the key prerequisite.

The purpose of the study was to identify and categorise the criteria-specified instructional approaches to fostering undergraduates' cross-cultural skills involving training them in foreign languages and to evaluate their effectiveness and feasibility. It was a systemic review of the effectiveness type. The descriptive content analysis was used as a methodology within the study to analyse the relevant short-listed sources. The triangular assessment method (TAM) was applied by instructors from Ukraine to rate each approach's/programme/course's potential effectiveness and/or feasibility for the context of higher education in Ukraine. This review identified potentially effective and feasible approaches/programmes/courses that can be converged to produce more efficient instructional models for fostering undergraduates' cross-cultural skills. The selected approaches or courses or programmes could be categorised as technology-driven approaches, approaches based on classroom activities or using specific instruction models, psychological effect-driven approaches, and combined or converged approaches. The use of technology-driven approaches seems to be the emerging instructional trend specifically in training students' cross-cultural skills.

Introduction, aim: At present, tooth autotransplantation is considered one of the therapeutic methods for the replacement of lost teeth. In the last 30 years, the method of tooth autotransplantation has been developed and refined and has become a basic knowledge of dental practitioners. The aim of this clinical retrospective study was to examine children and adult patients with tooth autotransplantation and obtain survival and success rates. Another aim was to determine other specifics of autotransplantation in each group with conclusions relevant for clinical practice. Methods: The study population consisted of the patients referred consecutively for tooth autotransplantation to a specialist department between years 2016 and 2021. The specialization of the referring dentist, the suitability and feasibility of the transplantation, and the donor and recipient area of the tooth graft were recorded. In 2022, clinical and radiological evaluation of the autotransplanted teeth was performed. Patients were divided into two groups according to age in time of autotransplantation, namely under 18 years and over 18 years. Results: Overall, 73 patients in the age range of 10-59 years were referred for autotransplantation. The mean age was 21.43 years with a median age of 17 years. Autotransplantation was not recommended in 12 patients. A total of 68 autotransplantations were performed, but at the time of examination, 12 did not meet the minimum 6-month follow up, so they were excluded from the evaluation. A total of 56 autotransplants were evaluated. In the group of children, there were 27 patients aged 10-17 years who underwent autotransplantation of at least one permanent tooth. A total of 34 teeth were transplanted. The evaluation of the transplanted teeth was performed 6-50 months after the transplantation with a mean follow-up time of 24 months. The survival rate was 100% and the success rate was 91%. The adult group consisted of 22 patients aged 18-59 years and a total of 22 teeth were transplanted. The evaluation of the transplanted teeth was performed 6-72 months after transplantation with a mean of 33 months. The survival rate was 95%, the success rate 77%. Conclusion: The use of autograft to replace undeveloped or lost teeth was most often indicated by orthodontists. In the patients under 18 years of age, the premolars are the predominant donor area and recipient area. In patients over 18 years of age, the third molars are the predominant donor area and the mandibular molars the predominant recipient area. Both age groups have high survival and success rates of autograft and this procedure can be considered as a predictable method of tooth replacement.

Two new negative-parity bands have been identified in the odd-odd 104Rh nucleus. According to their experimentally observed properties, they have the same π(1g9/2)−1⊗ν(1h11/2)1 high-j configuration as the previously known negative-parity chiral doublet bands. This observation raises the possibility of the existence of multiple chiral doublet bands, MχD, in this nucleus. Comparing the properties of the observed bands with results of detailed theoretical calculations, one can conclude that the lower energy parts of bands 1 and 2 are chiral partner bands with the π(1g9/2)−1⊗ν(1h11/2)1 two-quasiparticle configuration, while bands 3 and 4 are chiral partner bands with the π(1g9/2)−1⊗ν(1g7/2)−2(1h11/2)1 four-quasiparticle configuration. Thus, MχD based on different configurations is observed in 104Rh.

Abstract Background Information on social media may affect peoples’ contraceptive decision making. We performed an exploratory analysis of contraceptive content on Twitter (recently renamed X), a popular social media platform. Methods We selected a random subset of 1% of publicly available, English-language tweets related to reversible, prescription contraceptive methods posted between January 2014 and December 2019. We oversampled tweets for the contraceptive patch to ensure at least 200 tweets per method. To create the codebook, we identified common themes specific to tweet content topics, tweet sources, and tweets soliciting information or providing advice. All posts were coded by two team members, and differences were adjudicated by a third reviewer. Descriptive analyses were reported with accompanying qualitative findings. Results During the study period, 457,369 tweets about reversible contraceptive methods were published, with a random sample of 4,434 tweets used for final analysis. Tweets most frequently discussed contraceptive method decision-making (26.7%) and side effects (20.5%), particularly for long-acting reversible contraceptive methods and the depot medroxyprogesterone acetate shot. Tweets about logistics of use or adherence were common for short-acting reversible contraceptives. Tweets were frequently posted by contraceptive consumers (50.6%). A small proportion of tweets explicitly requested information (6.2%) or provided advice (4.2%). Conclusions Clinicians should be aware that individuals are exposed to information through Twitter that may affect contraceptive perceptions and decision making, particularly regarding long-acting reversible contraceptives. Social media is a valuable source for studying contraceptive beliefs missing in traditional health research and may be used by professionals to disseminate accurate contraceptive information.

Introduction: Peri-implantitis is a serious disease affecting the tissues around the dental implant (DI). Non-surgical therapy (NCHT) plays an important role in the management of this disease. One method for NCHT is the treatment with an air abrasive device (MAP). The aim of this prospective, randomized controlled clinical trial was to compare the efficacy of MAP in NCHT of peri-implantitis in combination with or without systemic antibiotic (ATB) therapy. Methods: The population included 33 patients (15 men and 18 women) with a mean age of 55.4 years at the time of first treatment and a total of 88 dental implants (DI) with diagnosed peri-implantitis. Patients were examined and the clinical parameters of probing depth (PD), bleeding on probing (BOP) and suppuration on probing (SOP) were recorded. The patients were then randomly divided into two groups. The first, the test group, initiated the treatment session using the systemic ATB and then continued to use ATB for 7 days after the therapy. The second, control group, underwent the same therapy, without adjunctive ATB treatment. The therapy itself was performed with Airflow plus powder with erythritol crystals applied using a MAP Perioflow® with a Perioflow nozzle (EMS; Nyon, Switzerland). Patients were subsequently called for a follow-up examination 1, 3, 6, 12, and 24 months after the treatment. Results: As part of the control examinations, there was a significant reduction of the PD parameter in both the test and control groups compared to the baseline. The test group had significantly greater differences in PD sum values after 6 months (p = 0.003) and 12 months (p < 0.0001) than in patients without ATB therapy. Conclusion: A reduction in the values of clinical parameters (BOP, SOP, PD) is possible with the use of MAP and erythritol powder, regardless of the systemic administration of ATB. However, the systemic use of ATB as supportive therapy in NCHT of peri-implantitis significantly reduces both PD and BOP compared to the group of patients without systemic ATB.

Selection is a fundamental part of the plant breeding process, enabling the identification and development of varieties with desirable traits. Thanks to advances in genetics and biotechnology, the selection process has become more precise and efficient, resulting in faster breeding progress and better adaptation of crops to environmental challenges. Genetic parameters related to gene additivity and epistasis play a key role and can influence decisions on the suitability of breeding material. In this study, 188 rapeseed doubled haploid lines were assessed in field conditions for resistance to Leptosphaeria spp. Through next-generation sequencing, a total of 133,764 molecular markers (96,121 SilicoDArT and 37,643 SNP) were obtained. The similarity of the DH lines at the phenotypic and genetic levels was calculated. The results indicate that the similarity at the phenotypic level was markedly different from the similarity at the genetic level. Genetic parameters related to additive gene action effects and epistasis (double and triple) were calculated using two methods: based on phenotypic observations only and using molecular marker observations. All evaluated genetic parameters (additive, additive-additive and additive-additive-additive) were statistically significant for both estimation methods. The parameters associated with the interaction (double and triple) had opposite signs depending on the estimation method.

PurposeTo describe the perceptions of residency candidates, residency practitioners (current residents and preceptors), and residency program directors (RPDs) regarding a virtual interview process for pharmacy residency programs across multiple institutions.MethodsIn May 2021, an anonymous web-based questionnaire characterizing perceptions of the virtual interview process used during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic was distributed to residency candidates, residency practitioners, and RPDs across 13 institutions. Quantitative responses measured on a 5-point Likert scale were summarized with descriptive statistics, and open-ended questions were analyzed using thematic qualitative methods.Results236 residency candidates and 253 residency practitioners/RPDs completed the questionnaire, yielding response rates of 27.8% (236 of 848), and 38.1% (253 of 663), respectively. Overall, both groups perceived the virtual interview format positively. When asked whether virtual interviews should replace in-person interviews moving forward, 60.0% (18 of 30) of RPDs indicated they agreed or strongly agreed, whereas only 30.5% (61 of 200) of current preceptors/residents and 28.7% (66 of 230) of residency candidates agreed or strongly agreed. Thematic analysis of qualitative responses revealed that while virtual interviews were easier logistically, the lack of in-person interactions was a common concern for many stakeholders. Lastly, the majority (65.0%) of residency candidates reported greater than $1,000 in savings with virtual interviews.ConclusionVirtual interviews offered logistical and financial benefits. The majority of RPDs were in favor of offering virtual interviews to replace in-person interviews, whereas the majority of residency candidates and practitioners preferred on-site interviews. As restrictions persist with the ongoing pandemic, our results provide insight into best practices for virtual pharmacy residency interviews.

IntroductionSelf-management programs for spinal cord injury (SCI) are a growing adjunct to traditional healthcare services aiding individuals with SCI in learning and managing symptoms and medical care. A benefit of self-management programs is that they can be facilitated by peers, offering a unique lived experience of adjusting to and managing SCI. While a growing body of literature highlights the effectiveness of peer led programs, there is limited understanding of how individuals engage with peer programs or critical components of peer support. The current study seeks to understand how individuals engaged with peers in the context of a self-management program.MethodsSecondary qualitative analysis of online forum posts resultant from a peer led self-management course for SCI.ResultsContent analysis revealed several themes of how participants engaged with members of the group, including skill building, resource sharing, and problem solving. A process level theme of emotional connection to others living with similar SCI-related challenges was defined as “bearing witness.” Participants commented frequently that groups were the first time they engaged with a community with lived experience, and shared experience was frequently highlighted in the responses from individuals as one of the most unique and important aspects of the intervention.DiscussionThemes identified suggest that bearing witness was a critical component of peer led intervention. While self-management content provided structure for engagement and discussion, participants report that connectedness and shared experience made content more impactful and relevant. Future research should examine if alignment of peer and participant experience increases the impact of interventions and explore if this theme is important for other chronic medical populations.

Abstract The phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class O protein (PIGO) enzyme is an important step in the biosynthesis of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI), which is essential for the membrane anchoring of several proteins. Bi‐allelic pathogenic variants in PIGO lead to a congenital disorder of glycosylation (CDG) characterized by global developmental delay, an increase in serum alkaline phosphatase levels, congenital anomalies including anorectal, genitourinary, and limb malformations in most patients; this phenotype has been alternately called “Mabry syndrome” or “hyperphosphatasia with impaired intellectual development syndrome 2.” We report a 22‐month‐old female with PIGO deficiency caused by novel PIGO variants. In addition to the Mabry syndrome phenotype, our patient's clinical picture was complicated by intermittent hypoglycemia with signs of functional hyperinsulinism, severe secretory diarrhea, and osteopenia with a pathological fracture, thus, potentially expanding the known phenotype of this disorder, although more studies are necessary to confirm these associations. We also provide an updated review of the literature, and propose unifying the nomenclature of PIGO deficiency as “PIGO‐CDG,” which reflects its pathophysiology and position in the broad scope of metabolic disorders and congenital disorders of glycosylation.

Introduction: The aim of this article is to present and summarize the non-surgical treatment options in management of peri-implant diseases and compare the effectiveness of the treatment with/without adjunctive use of antibiotics. Methods: A search was conducted in the PubMed- MEDLINE, Scopus, Embase, and Google Scholar databases, and available repositories, followed by a hand search. The relevant clinical studies, reviews, and consensuses about the non-surgical peri-implant therapy published between 1990-2022 in English language were included. Conclusion: Based on the available information, it can be said that there is a great diversity in the treatment of dental implants affected by peri-implantitis. Studies testing different therapeutic protocols are rare and highly heterogeneous. Stabilization of peri-implant disease after the treatment without systemic or local antibiotics is possible, but the reduction of probing depth around the dental implant using only the non-surgical therapy is still insufficient. Non-surgical treatment is therefore successful particularly in solving the peri-implant mucositis and also as a conditioning before surgical therapy.

IntroductionReproductive injustices such as forced sterilization, preventable maternal morbidity and mortality, restricted access to family planning services, and policy-driven environmental violence undermine reproductive autonomy and health outcomes, with disproportionate impact on historically marginalized communities. However, curricula focused on reproductive justice (RJ) are lacking in medical education.MethodsWe designed a novel, interactive, case-based RJ curriculum for postclerkship medical students. This curriculum was created using published guidelines on best practices for incorporating RJ in medical education. The session included a prerecorded video on the history of RJ, an article, and four interactive cases. Students engaged in a 2-hour small-group session, discussing key learning points of each case. We evaluated the curriculum's impact with a pre- and postsurvey and focus group.ResultsSixty-eight students participated in this RJ curriculum in October 2020 and March 2021. Forty-one percent of them completed the presurvey, and 46% completed the postsurvey. Twenty-two percent completed both surveys. Ninety percent of respondents agreed that RJ was relevant to their future practice, and 87% agreed that participating in this session would impact their clinical practice. Most respondents (81%) agreed that more RJ content is needed. Focus group participants appreciated the case-based, interactive format and the intersectionality within the cases.DiscussionThis interactive curriculum is an innovative and effective way to teach medical students about RJ and its relevance to clinical practice. Walking alongside patients as they accessed reproductive health care in a case-based curriculum improved students' comfort and self-reported knowledge on several RJ topics.

Weld surfacing is the process of applying a layer of metal to the surface of metal objects by simultaneously melting the substrate. As a result of this process, the metal content of the padding weld can be as high as several tens of percents. It is a method used to regenerate machine parts and improve the properties of the surface layer, increasing its resistance to abrasion, corrosion, erosion, and cavitation. It also supports the repair and creation of permanent protective coatings in the engineering, automotive, energy, and aerospace industries. This makes it possible to repair damaged parts instead of completely replacing them, saving time and production costs. Plasma surfacing technology is used for components that require high hardness and corrosion resistance under various environmental conditions. Plasma wire surfacing is not sufficiently presented and described in the current literature, which creates problems in determining the appropriate process parameters. The influence of variable plasma surfacing parameters on steel C45 significantly affects surfacing weld geometry, the dilution factor, and microhardness. Higher currents can increase the dilution factor, integrating more base metal into the weld pool, which may alter the chemical composition and mechanical properties of the weld. Variations in surfacing speed and heat input also affect the microhardness of the surfaced joint, with higher heat inputs potentially leading to softer welds due to slower cooling rates. Optimizing these parameters is essential to achieving desired surfacing weld characteristics and ensuring the structural integrity of C45 steel joints. This paper presents the influence of varying plasma surfacing parameters on the surfacing geometry, the dilution factor, and microhardness. The tests were carried out on a Panasonic TM-1400 GIII automated surfacing machine with CastoMag 45554S solid wire as the filler material. Flat bars of C45 steel were prepared, and then the variable parameters of the surfacing process were developed. Tests were carried out to determine the dilution factor, followed by microhardness measurements. The results showed a significant dependence of the effect of the parameters on the surfacing geometry and the dilution factor.

This paper examines the energy efficiency of three variations of the two-degree-of-freedom transverse galloping energy harvester. These variants differ in the number and placement of electromechanical transducers. By utilizing the harmonic balance method, the limit cycles of mathematical models of the devices were determined. Analytical expressions derived from the models were then used to formulate the efficiency of the systems. It was demonstrated that efficiency depends on flow speed and can be comprehensively characterized by the following criteria parameters: peak efficiency, denoting the maximum efficiency of the system, and high-efficiency bandwidth, which describes the range of flow speeds within which the efficiency remains at no less than 90% of peak efficiency. The values of these parameters are heavily reliant on two other parameters: the speed at which the system achieves peak efficiency, referred to as the nominal speed, and also the flow speed at which the system undergoes Hopf bifurcation, namely the critical speed. Comparative analysis revealed that only the device equipped with two electromechanical transducers can potentially outperform a simple one-degree-of-freedom system. For selected parameters, this gain reached nearly 10%.

Introduction, aim: Currently, the tooth autotransplantation is considered a reliable method for the tooth substitution. The aim of this article is to give a comprehensive outline of the studies dealing with tooth transplantation in the Czech dental literature.Methods: A retrospective survey of the Czech dental literature of the years 1920-2021 was done. Namely the journals Zubní lékařství, Československá stomatologie, Praktické zubní lékařství, Ortodoncie, LKS and the Czech version of Quintessenz journal.Conclusion: Overall, 25 studies have been published in the Czech dental literature dealing with the tooth transplantation up to now.

The article deals with the quality of higher education in the context of global trends in higher education development, taking into account global and international influences that encourage discussion of the problem of higher education quality assurance. The concept of quality has been considered and the lack of consensus regarding its conceptualization and evaluation has been stated. The higher education quality has been considered from a pedagogical point of view – as a systematic methodological category reflecting the degree of conformity of the result to the goal set, as well as the correspondence of the product to the consumers’ requirements and as a set of its characteristics determining the degree of suitability of the product for its intended use. It has been noted that the concept of quality and its indicators are debatable due to the presence of a range of stakeholders – persons interested in higher education. The difference in the value of higher education quality for each of the interested parties has been determined by the presence of their own interests and their own vision of quality. Globalization, the massification of higher education and the ICT revolution have been stressed in the article as factors that have radically changed the higher education environment, creating new challenges for governments, higher education institutions and other stakeholders. Higher education quality assurance has been defined as a global problem, and the growing attention to this problem has been noted in connection with the rapid development of higher education and the increase in the cost of educational services for the state and the public. Recent trends in higher education have been reviewed and their advantages and disadvantages have been noted.

Abstract Background Central incisor impaction is a rare condition with potentially severe clinical and psychological implications for the patient. Treatment techniques vary according to the pretreatment situation and individual factors. The aim of this study was to compare the esthetic outcomes and treatment times between two different approaches. Materials and methods In this retrospective study, thirty-one consecutive patients (13 boys, 18 girls; average age 9.5 ± 2.3 years) with a total of 34 impacted permanent upper central incisors were included in the study. Patients were divided into two groups according to method of treatment. Group A comprised patients in whom spontaneous eruption occurred after space opening (n = 12), and Group B comprised patients in whom teeth showed no eruption and required treatment with a modified closed eruption method with palatally oriented traction (n = 19). Treatment time and esthetic outcomes were assessed and compared between groups. Results The mean treatment time was 22.0 ± 6.7 months, and all teeth were successfully aligned. No statistically significant difference in average treatment time was found between groups in baseline characteristics (p > 0.05). The amount of attached gingiva was significantly smaller when compared to contralateral reference teeth in the closed eruption group (Group B; p = 0.03). However, no difference in amount of attached gingiva was found between both groups (p = 0.26). Additionally, no difference in the clinical crown length was found between groups (p = 0.27). Conclusion The closed eruption method with palatal traction directed at the peak of the alveolar crest provided results comparable to the physiologic tooth eruption.

In the face of the rapid evolution of the gaming market and the puzzling overlap of genres, consistency in classification seems elusive. The purpose of the present review was to explore the classification of video game genres in the context of psychological research. The aim was to address the challenges associated with creating consistent and meaningful classifications of video game genres, considering the rapid evolution of the gaming market and recent tendency to create games that could be classified into multiple genres. We performed a search in four databases according to the PRISMA guidelines and reviewed 96 full-text papers (N = 49 909). Through our findings, we reveal how researchers strive to classify genres and the numerous complications that arise from this pursuit. In the face of these challenges, we propose alternative ways of classifying genres. Our first proposal is a new classification of video game genres based on our literature review. In our second proposal, we advocate a more detailed understanding by focusing on specific gaming mechanics, and thus we introduce the innovative concept of utilizing community-based tags, such as Steam tags, as an alternative to genres in psychological research.

En las últimas décadas el desarrollo de la microelectrónica y de las llamadas tecnologías de la información y comunicación ha implicado la producción creciente de mercancías intensivas en conocimiento. Este fenómeno ha inducido a varios teóricos marxistas a cuestionar la aplicabilidad de la ley del valor para estas mercancías. Es el caso de los teóricos del enfoque del “capitalismo cognitivo” y, más recientemente, de algunos economistas marxistas. Recogiendo los argumentos presentes en esta literatura, en este artículo buscamos someter a un examen crítico la determinación del contenido y forma del valor de las llamadas mercancías intensivas en conocimiento.
