This article analyzes the scientific literature devoted to the study of the relationship of emotional burnout with symptoms of cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal diseases, immune system disorders, depression, and cognitive impairments. Methods: review and analytical method. Articles published in Russian and English in the period up to December 2023 in eLibrary, CyberLeninka, GoogleScholar, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Medline, ResearchGate were analyzed. Results: the analysis showed a link between emotional burnout and symptoms of cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal diseases and disorders of the immune system. Emotional burnout can also be associated with depression, asthenia, and cognitive impairment. Conclusion: mental and somatic symptoms associated with emotional burnout are highlighted.

In this work, we applied the multilingual text-to-text transformer (mT5) to the task of keyphrase generation for Russian scientific texts using the Keyphrases CS&Math Russian corpus. The automatic selection of keyphrases is a relevant task of natural language processing since keyphrases help readers find the article easily and facilitate the systematization of scientific texts. In this paper, the task of keyphrase selection is considered as a text summarization task. The mT5 model was fine-tuned on the texts of abstracts of Russian research papers. We used abstracts as an input of the model and lists of keyphrases separated with commas as an output. The results of mT5 were compared with several baselines, including TopicRank, YAKE!, RuTermExtract, and KeyBERT. The results are reported in terms of the full-match F1-score, ROUGE-1, and BERTScore. The best results on the test set were obtained by mT5 and RuTermExtract. The highest F1-score is demonstrated by mT5 (11,24 %), exceeding RuTermExtract by 0,22 %. RuTermextract shows the highest score for ROUGE-1 (15,12 %). According to BERTScore, the best results were also obtained using these methods: mT5 — 76,89 % (BERTScore using mBERT), RuTermExtract — 75,8 % (BERTScore using ruSciBERT). Moreover, we evaluated the capability of mT5 for predicting the keyphrases that are absent in the source text. The important limitations of the proposed approach are the necessity of having a training sample for fine-tuning and probably limited suitability of the fine-tuned model in cross-domain settings. The advantages of keyphrase generation using pre-trained mT5 are the absence of the need for defining the number and length of keyphrases and normalizing produced keyphrases, which is important for flective languages, and the ability to generate keyphrases that are not presented in the text explicitly.

A Molecular Features Set (MFS), is a result of a vast diversity of bioinformatics pipelines. The lack of a “gold standard” for most experimental data modalities makes it difficult to provide valid estimation for a particular MFS's quality. Yet, this goal can partially be achieved by analyzing inner-sample Distance Matrices (DM) and their power to distinguish between phenotypes. The quality of a DM can be assessed by summarizing its power to quantify the differences of inner-phenotype and outer-phenotype distances. This estimation of the DM quality can be construed as a measure of the MFS's quality. Here we propose Hobotnica, an approach to estimate MFSs quality by their ability to stratify data, and assign them significance scores, that allow for collating various signatures and comparing their quality for contrasting groups.

Abstract Background Deciphering the meaning of the human DNA is an outstanding goal which would revolutionize medicine and our way for treating diseases. In recent years, non-coding RNAs have attracted much attention and shown to be functional in part. Yet the importance of these RNAs especially for higher biological functions remains under investigation. Methods In this paper, we analyze RNA-seq data, including non-coding and protein coding RNAs, from lung adenocarcinoma patients, a histologic subtype of non-small-cell lung cancer, with deep learning neural networks and other state-of-the-art classification methods. The purpose of our paper is three-fold. First, we compare the classification performance of different versions of deep belief networks with SVMs, decision trees and random forests. Second, we compare the classification capabilities of protein coding and non-coding RNAs. Third, we study the influence of feature selection on the classification performance. Results As a result, we find that deep belief networks perform at least competitively to other state-of-the-art classifiers. Second, data from non-coding RNAs perform better than coding RNAs across a number of different classification methods. This demonstrates the equivalence of predictive information as captured by non-coding RNAs compared to protein coding RNAs, conventionally used in computational diagnostics tasks. Third, we find that feature selection has in general a negative effect on the classification performance which means that unfiltered data with all features give the best classification results. Conclusions Our study is the first to use ncRNAs beyond miRNAs for the computational classification of cancer and for performing a direct comparison of the classification capabilities of protein coding RNAs and non-coding RNAs.

Cell fate engineering technologies are critically important for basic and applied science, yet many protocols for direct cell conversions are still unstable, have a low yield and require improvement. There is an increasing need for a data aggregator containing a structured collection of protocols - preprocessed, verified, and represented in a standardized manner to facilitate their comparison, and providing a platform for the researchers to evaluate and improve the protocols. We developed CFM (cell fate mastering), a database of experimentally validated protocols for chemical compound-based direct reprogramming and direct cell conversion. The current version of CFM contains 169 distinct protocols, 113 types of cell conversions, and 158 small molecules capable of inducing cell conversion. CFM allows stem cell biologists to compare and choose the best protocol with high efficiency and reliability for their needs. The protocol representation contains PubChem CIDs and Mechanisms Of Action (MOA) for chemicals, protocol duration, media , and yield with a comment on a measurement strategy. Ratings of the protocols and feedback from the community will help to promote high-quality and reproducible protocols. We are committed to a long-term database maintenance strategy. Transcriptomics analysis of various small RNA (sRNA) biotypes is a new and rapidly developing field. Annotations for microRNAs, tRNAs, piRNAs and rRNAs contain information on transcript sequences and loci that is vital for downstream analyses. Several databases have been established to provide this type of data for specific RNA biotypes. However, these sources often contain data in different formats, which makes the bulk analysis of several sRNA biotypes in a single pipeline challenging. Information on some transcripts may be incomplete or conflicting with other entries. To overcome these challenges, we introduce ITAS, or Integrated Transcript Annotation for Small RNA, a filtered, corrected and integrated transcript annotation containing information on several types of small RNAs, including tRNA-derived small RNA, for several species (Homo sapiens, Rattus norvegicus, Mus musculus, Drosophila melanogaster, Caenorhabditis elegans). ITAS is presented in a format applicable for the vast majority of bioinformatic transcriptomics analysis, and it was tested in several case studies for human-derived data against existing alternative databases.
