1. Research on a new power system development planning model based on two-tier planning

Abstract

With the rapid development of the power industry, the safe and stable operation of the power system has become an important basis for safeguarding economic and social development. In order to adapt to the trend of rapid growth of new energy sources and the demand for transformation and upgrading of the power industry, the capacity allocation scheme of the power system needs to be constantly optimized and adjusted. To address the development planning of new power systems, a new power system development planning model based on two-layer planning is constructed, taking into account the operational output results of various types of units and the interaction between the configuration schemes. Through the analysis of the evolution of the power system in a region in the next 15 years, the development pattern of the new power system in different stages under the high, medium, and low scenarios of new energy development is optimally calculated to guide the development of the power system. The results show that the model can provide a quantitative reference for decision-making on energy policies and power strategies in the medium and long term.

5. Carbon emission analysis during the transformation of hydropower dominated grid for the carbon neutrality

Abstract

Driven by the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals, Sichuan Province, with its abundant hydropower and renewable energy resources, possesses the feasibility to pioneer in constructing a provincial-level carbon-neutral power system in China. However, current grid planning lacks sufficient consideration for carbon emission related goals and constraints. To investigate the carbon emission evolution path of Sichuan Power Grid under the carbon neutrality goal, firstly, the distribution and development status of clean energy sources in Sichuan are clarified in this paper, and the low-carbon technology combination for Sichuan Power Grid's transition is determined. Then, load forecasting and other relevant factors are also combined to form boundary conditions for planning. Based on this, power source and grid planning research are carried out, exploring the two-stage evolutionary trajectory—transition period and formation period. Finally, employing the carbon emission flow theory, the carbon emissions at each phase are analysed, depicting the progressive realization of carbon neutrality in Sichuan Power Grid from the perspective of carbon emission flow.

Abstract

Hydropower engineering is one of the most developed renewable energy generation techniques, which is characterized by high development concentration, large dispatching scale, many power stations, and long transmission distance. However, the unbalanced distribution of hydropower resources and the difficulty of absorbing hydropower lead to a large amount of abandoned water, which causes a large number of economic losses and energy loss in China. The topological structure and principle of the multi‐agent energy system of hydropower, hydrogen storage, and fuel cell are introduced here. The key technologies of the multi‐agent energy system are introduced from three parts: hydrogen production method of electrolysis water, hydrogen storage method, and application aspect of power generation system of solid oxide fuel cell. The main research direction of realizing the multi‐agent energy system of hydroelectric power, hydrogen energy storage, and fuel cell in the future is put forward, which has enlightenment significance for the construction of new power system and the research of realizing the goal of carbon neutral. Abstract

The rapid development and large-scale utilization of clean energy is not only conducive to alleviate the global fossil energy crisis, but also brings huge economic and environmental benefits. However, the uncertainty of new energy represented by wind power and photovoltaic power brings a lot of impact on the operation and dispatching of the power system. Hence, it’s urgent to explore a new dispatching mode adapted to the power system with high proportion of clean energy. The optimal dispatching method of power system with high proportion clean energy based on multi-energy complementarity is explored with goal of making full use of clean energy and reducing the operating cost. Particle swarm optimization algorithm and branch and bound method are used to solve the cascade hydropower optimal dispatching problem and the wind, photovoltaic, thermal power joint optimal dispatching problem respectively. Finally, the feasibility of the model is verified by an example.

Abstract

With the trend of increasing dimensions of collected power load data, the data dimension reduction and classification become essential pre-processing steps for data mining and further application. On the basis of adaptive piecewise aggregate approximation(APAA) and k-Shape algorithm, a novel method is proposed. In light of the fluctuation degree and shape characteristics of the original load profiles, the new load dataset with variable temple resolution replace the old one by APAA, and further k-Shape algorithm is adopted for lower dimension load profiles clustering. K-Shape algorithm cluster curves with distance SBD as similarity measurement and also a novel method to extract the representative centroids is mentioned. The experiment testifies that APAA-kShape algorithm has shorter calculating time, higher accuracy and represent better load patterns than other cluster algorithms.
