Mobile shopping (m-shopping) adoption has been significantly touted in the contemporary era; however, the adoption of m-shopping is still under shadow in many developing countries. The aim of this study is to discover the impact of device system quality on m-shopping adoption among university students with the support of UTAUT and UTAUT2 theories. The study employed PLS-SEM (symmetric) and fsQCA (asymmetric) analysis simultaneously using survey data from 530 respondents who are primarily university students. PLS-SEM results found positive significant relation between device system quality and m-shopping adoption. The study contributes with an extention of earlier studies that combine PLS-SEM (symmetric methods) and fsQCA (asymmetric methods). The study is limited among the university students that may affect the generalizability of the study. The casual recipes in this research aid policymakers to achieve their strategic objectives in implementing positive m-shopping behavior among the university students.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) can participate in plant-insect interactions, which regulate plant defense networks. In this study, we analyzed the miRNA expression profiles of six rice varieties before and after brown planthopper (BPH)-feeding. We identified 45 differentially expressed miRNAs between BPH- susceptible and BPH-resistant rice varieties and 144 miRNAs that responded to BPH-feeding. Thus, miRNAs may be involved in multiple pathways regulating rice defense response against BPH. In addition, we found that the genetic history of rice varieties determined the regulation mode of the miRNA and affected the amounts, types, changing trends and response periods of miRNAs in response to BPH- feeding. To conclude, we scanned seven potential cross-kingdom miRNAs, of which miR5795 may target the vitellogenin gene in BPH, causing a 16.07% reduction in BPH oviposition. The results provide new miRNA information of rice-BPH interactions and BPH-resistant rice variety breeding.

Summary: Genomic researchers increasingly utilize commercial cloud service providers (CSPs) to manage data and analytics needs. CSPs allow researchers to grow Information Technology (IT) infrastructure on demand to overcome bottlenecks when combining large datasets. However, without adequate security controls, the risk of unauthorized access may be higher for data stored on the cloud. Additionally, regulators are mandating data access patterns and specific security protocols for the storage and use of genomic data. While CSP provides tools for security and regulatory compliance, building the necessary controls required for cloud solutions is not trivial. Research Assets Provisioning and Tracking Online Repository (RAPTOR) by the Genome Institute of Singapore is a cloud-native genomics data repository and analytics platform that implements a “five-safes” framework to provide security and governance controls to data contributors and users, leveraging CSP for sharing and analysis of genomic datasets without the risk of security breaches or running afoul of regulations.

Circumferential yielding lining is able to tolerate controlled displacements without failure, which has been proven to be an effective solution to large deformation problem in squeezing tunnels. However, up to now, there has not been a well-established design method for it. This paper aims to present a detailed analytical computation of support characteristic curve (SCC) for circumferential yielding lining, which is a significant aspect of the implementation of convergence-confinement method (CCM) in tunnel support design. Circumferential yielding lining consists of segmental shotcrete linings and highly deformable elements, and its superior performance mainly depends on the mechanical characteristic of highly deformable element. The deformation behavior of highly deformable element is firstly investigated. Its whole deforming process can be divided into three stages including elastic, yielding and compaction stages. Especially in the compaction stage of highly deformable element, a nonlinear stress–strain relationship can be observed. For mathematical convenience, the stress–strain curve in this period is processed as several linear sub-curves. Then, the reasons for closure of circumferential yielding lining in different stages are explained, and the corresponding accurate equations required for constructing the SCC are provided. Furthermore, this paper carries out two case studies illustrating the application of all equations needed to construct the SCC for circumferential yielding lining, where the reliability and feasibility of theoretical derivation are also well verified. Finally, this paper discusses the sensitivity of sub-division in element compaction stage and the influence of element length on SCC. The outcome of this paper could be used in the design of proper circumferential yielding lining.

This research paper aims to explore the entrepreneurship opportunities for young female students in emerging nations. Adopting the technology acceptance model paradigm, the authors attempt to understand the moderating effects of perceived usefulness on social media behavior. The authors conduct a person-administered survey on 241 female students with entrepreneurship intentions. The survey is analyzed using structural equation modeling (Amos). According to the findings, the variables such as social influence, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, attitude toward social media and social-media behaviors have a significant relationship, indicating tremendous entrepreneurial opportunities, especially social-media-based, for young women in emerging nations. Results also show that social media attracts women entrepreneurs positively in emerging countries. Since the data was collected only in a single Asian nation, the results may not be generalizable. The study have a significant impact on social media and entrepreneurial development.

As a population migration phenomenon in the context of global mobility and an aging society, seasonal migratory tourism has become a new way of providing for the aged, with unique seasonal temporal and spatial characteristics. This study takes China's only tropical coastal tourist city, Sanya, as an example. Based on a field survey of 256 seasonal migratory retirees, it uses factor and variance analyses to explore the structure, intensity, and group differences in the driving forces of seasonal migratory retirees. The results show that: (1) the economic income and cultural levels of seasonal migratory retirees in Sanya are relatively high, although they are also polarized. (2) Seasonal migratory retirees in Sanya are composed of seven driving forces: landscape environment, social capital, social symbol, urban service, lifestyle, family atmosphere, and health preservation; health preservation is the predominant driving force. Among them, factors such as health preservation, social capital, and lifestyle are strong, while urban service factors are the weakest. (3) Unlike the active pursuit of "a better life" in foreign countries, seasonal migratory retirees of Sanya are driven by the health problems engendered by aging. Meanwhile, there are obvious differences in family attributes and economic motivation at home and abroad, and the social network in Sanya became a significant follow-up motive for their migration. (4) The article initially reveals the continuum of "tourism leisure-daily life", which reflects the complexity of migration's driving forces. (5) There are obvious differences in the driving forces of Sanya's seasonal migratory retirees of different genders, education levels, ages, and residence duration, especially regarding social capital. The research enriches the empirical and theoretical exploration of the tourism immigration research system. Further, it clarifies the migration motives and rules of the elderly, helps local government formulate relevant policies, and improves the quality of life and happiness of seasonal migratory retirees.

Solar insecticidal lamps (SILs) are widely used in agriculture for the purpose of effectively controlling pests and reducing pesticide dosage. With the increasing deployment of SILs, there are more and more reports about theft and destruction of SILs, seriously affecting the pest control effect and leading to great economic losses. Unfortunately, many efforts remain unsuccessful, since people can destruct the components of SIL in part but not steal the whole SIL, which cannot be detected by GPRS module or can only be labeled as a fault of component. To realize the broader effect of anti-theft and anti-destruction in the scenario of Solar Insecticidal Lamps Internet of Things (SIL-IoTs), there were two types of designs which would enable substantial improvements. On one hand, SIL was reformed and designed to obtain more information from different kinds of sensors and increase the difficulty of theft and destruction of SILs. Four modules were equipped including gated switch, voltage and current module, emergency power module, acceleration sensor module. Gated switch was used to judge whether the gate of power was open or closed. Voltage and current module of battery, solar panel, lamp, and metal mesh were used to judge whether the components were stolen or destructed. Emergency power module was used for communication module after the battery being stolen. Acceleration sensor module was used to judge whether the SIL was shaking by stealer. On the other hand, the auxiliary equipment of SIL, i.e., unmanned aerial vehicle insecticidal lamp (UAV-IL), was put forward for emergency applications after theft and destruction of SIL, e.g., deployment, tracking, patrol inspection, and so on. Through the above-mentioned hardware design and application of UAV-IL, more information from different kinds of sensors could be obtained to make judgements about the situation of theft and destruction. However, considering the short occurrence time of theft and destruction, the design was not enough to realize fast and accurate judgments. Therefore, six key research issues in the design of internal hardware, software algorithm and appearance structure design level were discussed, including 1) optimal design of anti-theft and anti-destruction of SILs; 2) establishment of anti-theft and anti-destruction judgment rules of SILs; 3) fast and accurate judgments of theft and destruction of SILs; 4) emergency measures after theft and destruction of SILs; and 5) prediction and prevention of theft and destruction of SILs; 6) optimal calculation to reduce the load of network data transmission. The anti-theft and anti-destruction have crucial roles in equipment safety, which can be extended to various agricultural applications.

MLL3 and MLL4 are members of the SET1/MLL family of histone H3K4 methyltransferases, which are responsible for monomethylating histone H3K4 on enhancers. Here the authors show that an extended PHD domain (ePHD6) in MLL3 and MLL4 specifically recognizes an H4H18-containing fragment of histone H4, and that modifications of residues surrounding H4H18 modulate H4 binding to MLL3/4.

The demand for improving the activity, durability, and recyclability of metal-organic cages (MOCs) that work as photocatalytic molecular devices in a homogeneous system has promoted research to combine them with other solid materials. An M2L4 type photosensitive metal-organic cage MOC-Q2 with light-harvesting ligands and catalytic Pd2+ centers has been synthesized and further heterogenized with graphitic carbon nitride to prepare a robust direct Z-scheme heterojunction photocatalyst for visible-light-driven hydrogen generation. The optimized g-C3N4/MOC-Q2 (0.7 wt%) sample exhibits a high H2 evolution activity of 6423 μmol g−1 h−1 in 5 h, and a total turnover number of 39,695 after 10 h, significantly superior to the bare MOC-Q2 used in the homogeneous solution and the comparison sample Pd/g-C3N4/L-4. The enhanced performances of g-C3N4/MOC-Q2 can be ascribed to its direct Z-scheme heterostructure, which effectively improves the charge separation and transfer efficiency. This work presents a rational approach of designing a binary photocatalytic system through combing micromolecular MOCs with heterogeneous semiconductors for water splitting.

SETDB1 is a histone methyltransferase that generates H3K9me3 marks in euchromatic regions. Here the authors show that the triple Tudor domain (3TD) of SETDB1 binds histone H3 tails containing K14 acetylation combined with K9 methylation, and that the K9me–K14ac modification defines a novel chromatin state enriched at SETDB1 binding sites.

A series of highly robust nano-micro hybrid materials based on meso-tetra(4-hydroxyphenyl) porphyrins (M = H, Pd, Zn) and titanium dioxide (denoted as THPP-TiO2, THPP-Pd-TiO2, and THPP-Zn-TiO2) have been prepared by a facile sol-gel method for the first time. When Pt nanoparticles are incorporated in these hybrids, Pt/THPP-Pd-TiO2 achieves good H2 production activity (2025.4 μmol g−1 h−1 and 12.03 μmol m−2 h−1), higher than that of Pt/THPP-Zn-TiO2 (1239.8 μmol g−1 h−1 and 7.46 μmol m−2 h−1) and Pt/THPP-TiO2 (576.8 μmol g−1 h−1 and 4.02 μmol m−2 h−1), owing to the different central metal ions in porphyrins. The best activity of Pt/THPP-Pd-TiO2 would be attributed to the two-center catalysis from coordination Pd metal ions and Pt nanoparticles, while the higher activity of Pt/THPP-Zn-TiO2 than Pt/THPP-TiO2 could be ascribed to the more effective light harvesting and electron transfer between THPP-Zn and TiO2. In addition, the hybridized Pt/THPP-Pd-TiO2 catalyst exhibits unattenuated hydrogen production stability even after recycling the experiment 10 times (cumulative turnover number of 5111 after 50 h), far superior to that of the surface-sensitized Pt/THPP-Pd/TiO2 catalyst with analogous components, due to the more stable Ti-O bonds between four phenols in porphyrins and TiO2 for the hybrid system. The present study provides a promising approach for constructing stable organic–inorganic hybrid systems with unique hierarchical structures for efficient light absorption and electron transfer.

Chromatin interactions play important roles in transcription regulation. To better understand the underlying evolutionary and functional constraints of these interactions, we implemented a systems approach to examine RNA polymerase-II-associated chromatin interactions in human cells. We found that 40% of the total genomic elements involved in chromatin interactions converged to a giant, scale-free-like, hierarchical network organized into chromatin communities. The communities were enriched in specific functions and were syntenic through evolution. Disease-associated SNPs from genome-wide association studies were enriched among the nodes with fewer interactions, implying their selection against deleterious interactions by limiting the total number of interactions, a model that we further reconciled using somatic and germline cancer mutation data. The hubs lacked disease-associated SNPs, constituted a nonrandomly interconnected core of key cellular functions, and exhibited lethality in mouse mutants, supporting an evolutionary selection that favored the nonrandom spatial clustering of the least-evolving key genomic domains against random genetic or transcriptional errors in the genome. Altogether, our analyses reveal a systems-level evolutionary framework that shapes functionally compartmentalized and error-tolerant transcriptional regulation of human genome in three dimensions.
