The effects of foliar spray of selenite or selenate on selenium(Se) accumulation, distribution in strawberry were observed in this study. Solutions of sodium selenite or sodium selenate were sprayed on the leaves of strawberry at the early stage of flowering. The effects of different fertilization methods on selenium content and nutrition quality of kiwifruits were employed for selenium fortification. The fertilization methods were root fertilization, foliar fertilization and combined fertilization on their corresponding fertilizing periods. The results demonstrated that selenium content of these three experimental groups was in the order of foliar fertilization>combined fertilization>root fertilization. Foliar fertilization with the dose of 0.5 kg was optimal, whose selenium content of kiwifruits increased by 103.5%. The vitamin C content of these three experimental groups was in the order of root fertilization>combined fertilization>foliar fertilization. Root fertilization with the dose of 0.5 kg was optimal, whose vitamin C content increased by 23%. However, the vitamin C content decreased as a result of foliar fertilization. The soluble solid content of these three experimental groups was in the order of foliar fertilization>combined fertilization>root fertilization. Foliar fertilization with the dose of 0.5 kg was optimal, whose the soluble solid content increased by 37.2%. Taking selenium content, nutrition quality, growth of plants and management costs of orchard into account, root fertilization at blossoming leaf stage with the dose of 0.5 kg selenium fertilizers was choosed as the optimal seleniumfortification technology.

In this review, we summarized the uptake, translocation and metabolism mechanisms of selenium (Se) in plants. Water-soluble Se, including selenate, selenite and some organic selenium, was the predominant form taken up by plants. The active uptake of selenate in plant could be mediated by high affinity sulfate transporters. The mechanism of selenite uptake was not well understood, however, recent studies suggested that selenite uptake was probably mediated by Pi transporters. The translocation of Se from root to shoot was dependent on the form of Se supplied. The selenate taken up by plants was readily translocated to the shoots and reduced to selenite in leaves, then converted to organic Se compound. By contrast, most of the selenite taken up by plants in the roots and only a small fraction was translocated to the shoots. Se could be assimilated to seleno amino acids or selenoprotein after plant uptake, and then involved in the metabolism of plants.

We propose a new method to reduce the normal orthant probability with a positive definite tridiagonal correlation matrix. We also investigate some properties of this method. This method is simple and is suitable to use computer to evaluate the normal orthant probability. For practical purpose, we give the reduced formulas for dimensions from 5 to 9.

It has caused various kinds of demands of the service for spiritual consolation. This article introduces how to distinguish different emotion form the sound sample by affective computing and brings forward the concept of spiritual consolation object. Elder can communicate with this object when they need spiritual consolation. With this, we can set up an interchange environment considering people first, which is intelligent and understandable between children and the elder.
