Background: Gut microbiota (GM) have been implicated as important regulators of gastrointestinal symptom which is commonly occurred along with respiratory influenza A virus (IAV) infection, suggesting the involvement of the gut-to-lung axis in a host's response to IAV. IAV primarily destroys airway epithelium tight junctions (TJs) and consequently causes acute respiratory disease syndrome. It is known that GM and their metabolism produce an anti-influenza effect, but their role in IAV-induced airway epithelial integrity remains unknown. Methods: A mouse model of IAV infection was established. GM were analyzed using 16S rRNA gene sequencing, and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) levels were measured. GM depletion and fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) were conducted to validate the role of GM in IAV infection. A pair-feeding experiment was conducted to reveal whether IAV-induced GM dysbiosis is attributed to impaired food intake. Furthermore, human bronchial epithelial (HBE) cells were cocultured with IAV in the presence or absence of acetate. TJs function was analyzed by paracellular permeability and transepithelial electronic resistance (TEER). The mechanism of how acetate affects TJs integrity was evaluated in HBE cells transfected with G protein-coupled receptor 43 (GPR43) short hairpin RNA (shRNA). Results: IAV-infected mice exhibited lower relative abundance of acetate-producing bacteria (Bacteroides, Bifidobacterium, and Akkermansia) and decreased acetate levels in gut and serum. These changes were partly caused by a decrease in food consumption (due to anorexia). GM depletion exacerbated and FMT restored IAV-induced lung inflammatory injury. IAV infection suppressed expressions of TJs (occludin, ZO-1) leading to disrupted airway epithelial barrier function as evidenced by decreased TEER and increased permeability. Acetate pretreatment activated GPR43, partially restored IAV-induced airway epithelial barrier function, and reduced inflammatory cytokines levels (TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-1β). Such protective effects of acetate were absent in HBE cells transfected with GPR43 shRNA. Acetate and GPR43 improved TJs in an AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK)-dependent manner. Conclusion: Collectively, our results demonstrated that GM protected airway TJs by modulating GPR43-AMPK signaling in IAV-induced lung injury. Aim: To explore the views and experiences of formal caregivers caring for older inpatients with physical disabilities. Methods: It was a qualitative phenomenological study. Using purposive sampling, twelve formal caregivers were chosen in a tertiary comprehensive hospital in Hangzhou, China. Semi-structured, face-to-face interviews were conducted, guided by open-ended questions that focused on gaining rich insights into participants' views and experiences. Coding reliability thematic analysis was used to guide data analysis and categorize, based on Lazarus and Folkman's theory of transactional coping. Results: Four themes emerged from the data analysis: (1) Caregiving Threats. (2) motivations. (3) Responsibility Management. (4) Fear. Conclusion: Despite facing significant pressure at work, formal caregivers of elderly inpatients with physical disabilities possess the drive and various coping strategies to excel in their role. Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) ratio in patients with AFP-negative hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Patients and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 600 AFP-negative HCC patients who underwent hepatectomy. The AFP ratio was calculated as the ratio of AFP level 1 week before surgery to the level 20-40 days after hepatectomy. Immunohistochemistry assay was used to assess protein expression in HCC tissue. The primary outcome measures were overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS). Results: The study found that a cutoff value of 1.6 ng/ml for AFP ratio, determined using X-tile software, was optimal for predicting prognosis. Patients with a high AFP ratio had a worse prognosis compare to those with a low AFP ratio (DFS, P =.026; OS, P =.034). Patients with a high AFP ratio had a worse prognosis compared to those with a low AFP ratio. Multivariate analysis revealed that AFP ratio >1.6, negative HepPar-1 expression, and vascular invasion were independent predictors of both DFS and OS. Vascular invasion had a higher area under the curve (AUC) than AFP ratio and HepPar-1 expression in predicting recurrence and death. The combination of AFP ratio, HepPar-1 expression, and vascular invasion provided better predictive accuracy for DFS and OS. Conclusion: The AFP ratio is a potential prognostic marker for AFP-negative HCC patients after hepatectomy. Combining the analysis of AFP ratio with HepPar-1 expression and vascular invasion can enhance the accuracy of predicting prognosis in these patients. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Macrophage pyroptosis is of key importance to host defence against pathogen infections and may participate in the progression and recovery of periodontitis. However, the role of pyroptotic macrophages in regulating periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs), the main cell source for periodontium renewal, remains unclear. First, we found that macrophage pyroptosis were enriched in gingiva tissues from periodontitis patients compared with those of healthy people through immunofluorescence. Then the effects of pyroptotic macrophages on the PDLSC osteogenic differentiation were investigated in a conditioned medium (CM)‐based coculture system in vitro. CM derived from pyroptotic macrophages inhibited the osteogenic differentiation‐related gene and protein levels, ALP activity and mineralized nodule formation of PDLSCs. The osteogenic inhibition of CM was alleviated when pyroptosis was inhibited by VX765. Further, untargeted metabolomics showed that glutamate limitation may be the underlying mechanism. However, exogenous glutamate supplementation aggravated the CM‐inhibited osteogenic differentiation of PDLSCs. Moreover, CM increased extracellular glutamate and decreased intracellular glutamate levels of PDLSCs, and enhanced the gene and protein expression levels of system xc− (a cystine/glutamate antiporter). After adding cystine to CM‐based incubation, the compromised osteogenic potency of PDLSCs was rescued. Our data suggest that macrophage pyroptosis is related to the inflammatory lesions of periodontitis. Either pharmacological inhibition of macrophage pyroptosis or nutritional supplements to PDLSCs, can rescue the compromised osteogenic potency caused by pyroptotic macrophages. Summary The aim of this study is to investigate the association between sleep quality during pregnancy and fetal growth. Pregnant women and their fetuses at 16–20 gestational weeks in Nantong Maternal and Child Health Hospital were recruited. Women were classified as having “good sleep quality” (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score ≤ 5) and “poor sleep quality” (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index score > 5) according to the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index scores. The fetal growth was evaluated by three ultrasonographic examinations, birth weight and birth length. We used general linear model and multiple linear regression models to estimate the associations. A total of 386 pairs of mother and infant were included in the data analysis. After adjusting for gestational weight gain, anxiety and depression, fetuses in the good sleep quality group had greater abdominal circumference (p = 0.039 for 28–31+6 weeks gestation, p = 0.012 for 37–40+6 weeks gestation) and femur length (p = 0.014 for 28–31+6 weeks gestation, p = 0.041for 37–40+6 weeks gestation) at 28–31+6 weeks gestation and 37–40+6 weeks gestation, and increased femur length (p = 0.007) at 28–31+6 weeks gestation. Birth weights (p = 0.018) were positively associated with sleep quality. Poor sleep quality was associated with poor intrauterine physical development, decreased abdominal circumference and femur length, and lower birth weight after adjusting for confounding factors. Designing photoluminescence sensing devices for gaseous oxygen that combine ease of acquisition with efficient performance is a critical yet challenging task. Herein, a novel oxygen‐sensing probe based on zeolite Y confined silver clusters prepared via a simple approach, is proposed. The large Ag6 clusters formed after hydrogenation exhibit a bright orange emission. They are characterized by a high photoluminescence quantum yield (≈31%) and a long luminescence decay time (>500 µs). A possible formation mechanism of these clusters, which are for the first time observed in Faujasite zeolites, is proposed. Luminescence switching‐off, triggered by oxygen, can be detected in a dual‐channel combination of linear emission‐quenching and lifetime‐reduction, enabling a visual and ultrasensitive (limit of detection of 58 Pa) quantitative detection of oxygen in a wide pressure range (0–100 kPa) with fast response (<1 s), reversibility and reproducibility. A more detailed analysis shows that this high sensitivity is due to the long decay time of the orange emission and the high affinity of the zeolite for O2 adsorption rather than to a high rate constant for quenching. This work contributes to the development of optical oxygen sensing technology and lays the foundation for the design of silver cluster‐based zeolites for photo‐functional applications. Applying evidence theory to structural reliability analysis under epistemic uncertainty, it is necessary to consider the correlation of evidence variables. Among them, solving the joint basic probability assignment (BPA) of the evidence variables is a crucial link. In this study, a solution method of joint BPA based on neural network copula function is proposed. This method is to automatically construct copula function through neural network, which avoids the process of selecting the optimal copula function. Firstly, the neural network copula function is constructed based on the sample set of evidence variables. Then, the expression for solving the joint BPA using the neural network copula function is derived through vectors. Furthermore, the expression is used to map the marginal BPA of evidence variables to joint BPA, thus realizing the solution of joint BPA. Finally, the effectiveness of this method is verified by three examples. The results show that the neural network copula function describes the data distribution better than the optimal copula function selected by the traditional method. In addition, there is actually an error in solving the reliability intervals using the traditional optimal copula function method, whereas the results of this paper's neural network copula function method are more accurate and better for decision making. Background: Rhododendron chrysanthum Pall. (R. chrysanthum) is a plant that lives in high mountain with strong UV-B radiation, so R. chrysanthum possess resistance to UV-B radiation. The process of stress resistance in plants is closely related to metabolism. Lysine acetylation is an important post-translational modification, and this modification process is involved in a variety of biological processes, and affected the expression of enzymes in metabolic processes. However, little is known about acetylation proteomics during UV-B stress resistance in R. chrysanthum. Results: In this study, R. chrysanthum OJIP curves indicated that UV-B stress damaged the receptor side of the PSII reaction center, with a decrease in photosynthesis, a decrease in sucrose content and an increase in starch content. A total of 807 differentially expressed proteins, 685 differentially acetylated proteins and 945 acetylation sites were identified by quantitative proteomic and acetylation modification histological analysis. According to COG and subcellular location analyses, DEPs with post-translational modification of proteins and carbohydrate metabolism had important roles in resistance to UV-B stress and DEPs were concentrated in chloroplasts. KEGG analyses showed that DEPs were enriched in starch and sucrose metabolic pathways. Analysis of acetylation modification histology showed that the enzymes in the starch and sucrose metabolic pathways underwent acetylation modification and the modification levels were up-regulated. Further analysis showed that only GBSS and SSGBSS changed to DEPs after undergoing acetylation modification. Metabolomics analyses showed that the metabolite content of starch and sucrose metabolism in R. chrysanthum under UV-B stress. Conclusions: Decreased photosynthesis in R. chrysanthum under UV-B stress, which in turn affects starch and sucrose metabolism. In starch synthesis, GBSS undergoes acetylation modification and the level is upregulated, promotes starch synthesis, making R. chrysanthum resistant to UV-B stress. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To explore the impact of a novel multidisciplinary cooperation model in obstetric medical quality control. Methods: This quasi‐experimental study analyzed the quality indicators of full‐term pregnant women who underwent vaginal trial labor in Zibo Maternal and Child Health Hospital between July 2021 and June 2022. The pregnant women were divided into two groups based on implementation of novel multidisciplinary cooperation: multidisciplinary and non‐multidisciplinary. We compared the rate of labor analgesia, postpartum hemorrhage in vaginal delivery, transfer to cesarean section, and the 5‐min Apgar score ≤7 in full‐term neonates. Results: A total of 3751 pregnant women were enrolled into the study, of whom 2004 were included in the non‐multidisciplinary group and 1747 in the multidisciplinary group. The analgesic rate of delivery of the multidisciplinary group was higher than that of the non‐multidisciplinary group (P = 0.000). We established that the rate of postpartum bleeding (P = 0.040), transfer cesarean section (P = 0.003) and the incidence of Apgar score ≤7 in 5 min of full‐term neonates (P = 0.038) of the multidisciplinary group was lower than that of the non‐multidisciplinary group. There was no significant difference in the mean ages (29.40 ± 3.99 vs. 29.90 ± 4.27 years; P = 0.126), mean delivery gestational ages (39.65 ± 0.87 vs. 39.64 ± 1.06; P = 0.221), mean gravidity values (1.93 ± 1.09 vs. 2.00 ± 1.18; P = 0.586) and mean parity (1.40 ± 0.56 vs. 1.42 ± 0.59; P = 0.635) of the women in the two groups. Conclusion: Multidisciplinary cooperation in delivery management can significantly improve some quality indicators. We established the analgesic rate of delivery can be increased and the rate of postpartum bleeding, transfer cesarean section and the incidence of Apgar score ≤7 in 5 min of full‐term neonates can be decreased with the implementation of novel multidisciplinary cooperation. Our previous study using RNA sequencing and reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR) validation identified a long non-coding RNA (lnc), lnc-AL928768.3, correlating with risk and disease activity of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), then the present study was conducted to further investigate the interaction of lnc-AL928768.3 with lymphotoxin beta (LTB) and their impact on proliferation, migration, invasion, and inflammation in RA-fibroblast-like synoviocytes (RA-FLS). Human RA-FLS was obtained and transfected with lnc-AL928768.3 overexpression, negative control overexpression, lnc-AL928768.3 short hairpin RNA (shRNA) and negative control shRNA plasmids. Then cell functions and inflammatory cytokine expressions were detected. Afterward, rescue experiments were conducted via transfecting lnc-AL928768.3 shRNA with or without LTB overexpression plasmids in RA-FLS. Lnc-AL928768.3 enhanced proliferation and invasion, inhibited apoptosis, while had little impact on migration in RA-FLS. In addition, lnc-AL928768.3 positively modulated interleukin-1β (IL-1β), IL-6 and IL-8 expressions in RA-FLS supernatant; moreover, it also positively regulated LTB mRNA expression, LTB protein expression, p-NF-κB protein expression, and p-IKB-α protein expression in RA-FLS. Furthermore, following experiment showed that lnc-AL928768.3 positively regulated LTB expression while LTB did not impact on lnc-AL928768.3 expression in RA-FLS. Furthermore, in rescue experiments, LTB overexpression curtailed the effect of lnc-AL928768.3 knock-down on regulating proliferation, invasion, apoptosis and inflammatory cytokine expressions in RA-FLS. We investigate the association between business strategy and firm-level tournament incentives in China and find that business strategy is associated with tournament incentives positively. We further find that this positive relationship manifests itself in local, but not central, state-owned enterprises (SOEs). In addition, we also offer some evidence that foreign institutional investors play a moderating role on the positive association between business strategy and tournament incentives. Our study fills a gap in the existing tournament literature by incorporating business strategy as an important determinant of tournament incentives in China. Clustered bivariate survival data arise in various fields, such as biology and medicine, when individuals in a dataset are clustered and exhibit two survival outcomes. Recently, the joint frailty-copula model was proposed to analyze clustered bivariate survival outcomes by accommodating the between-cluster heterogeneity via a shared frailty term. In this model, researchers fitted the baseline hazard functions via the nonparametric model, the spline model, or the Weibull model. However, when a population has extremely large survival time, the baseline hazard functions are better modeled by a heavy-tailed distribution. In this paper, we adopt the Pareto type I distribution for the joint frailty-copula model, which is one of the most popular heavy-tailed distributions. We show that the moments of the Pareto type I joint frailty copula model diverge to infinity owing to the heavy right-tail. We develop statistical inference methods based on three types of censoring schemes: (i) bivariate random censoring, (ii) semi-competing risks, and (iii) competing risks. We develop maximum likelihood estimation procedures, and make our computational tools available for users. Simulations are performed to check the accuracy of the proposed method. Activating cGAS‐STING pathway has great potential to achieve effective antitumor immunotherapy. However, mutant p53 (mutp53), a commonly observed genetic alteration in over 50% of human cancer, will impede the therapeutic performance of the cGAS‐STING pathway. Herein, multifunctional ZIF‐8@MnO2 nanoparticles are constructed to degrade mutp53 and facilitate the cGAS‐STING pathway. The synthesized ZIF‐8@MnO2 can release Zn2+ and Mn2+ in cancer cells to induce oxidative stress and cytoplasmic leakage of fragmented mitochondrial double‐stranded DNAs (dsDNAs). Importantly, the released Zn2+ induces variable degradation of multifarious p53 mutants through proteasome ubiquitination, which can alleviate the inhibitory effects of mutp53 on the cGAS‐STING pathway. In addition, the released Mn2+ further increases the sensitivity of cGAS to dsDNAs as immunostimulatory signals. Both in vitro and in vivo results demonstrate that ZIF‐8@MnO2 effectively promotes the cGAS‐STING pathway and synergizes with PD‐L1 checkpoint blockades, leading to remarkable regression of local tumors as well as distant metastases of breast cancer. Small metal oligomers have gained significant attention due to their exceptional optoelectronic properties and versatile applications, ranging from sensors to imaging and catalysis. However, the need for matrices (silica, zeolites, or metal‐organic frameworks) to prevent aggregation into larger metallic particles reduces their potential applicability in light‐emitting devices (LEDs) due to their poor electrical properties. To address this issue, a novel semiconductor stabilizer, titanosilicate, is proposed as an innovative solution for Ag‐based luminescent materials. These results show that titanosilicate, characterized by high thermochemical stability and well‐defined semiconducting properties, is an ideal scaffold for Ag‐luminescent species. Optical spectroscopic techniques reveal that Ag‐titanosilicates feature an orange fluorescence with a photoluminescence quantum yield reaching 20%. In contrast, a combination of X‐ray diffraction, TEM, and XEOL‐X‐ray absorption spectroscopic techniques show that, unlike zeolites, the luminescent species consist of single Ag atoms. The electroluminescent properties of the proposed Ag‐titanosilicate are further investigated within a conventional LED architecture by using the new material as an emissive layer. The developed proof‐of‐concept LED exhibits a significant improvement of the ZEOLEDs, where a smaller low turn‐on voltage of 2 V (enabling energy‐efficient operation) and high color rendering index of 80 introduces exciting prospects for developing advanced Ag‐LED phosphors. This research presents a method for the oxidative selenylation and thiolylation of Morita‐Baylis‐Hillman adducts through constant‐current electrolysis in an undivided cell at room temperature. The reaction enables direct production of trisubstituted (Z)‐allyl aryl selenides and sulfides with yields of 27–98%. A wide variety of different functionalities are well tolerated under these reaction conditions. This strategy could be carried out on gram scale and several synthetic transformations were accomplished for the construction of other allyl selenide derivatives. Purpose: To explore the feasibility of a 5G-based telerobotic ultrasound (US) system for providing qualified abdominal US services on a rural island. Methods: This prospective study involved two medical centers (the tele-radiologist site's hospital and the patient site's hospital) separated by 72 km. Patients underwent 5G-based telerobotic US by tele-radiologists and conventional US by on-site radiologists from September 2020 to March 2021. The clinical feasibility and diagnostic performance of the 5G-based telerobotic abdominal US examination were assessed based on safety, duration, image quality, diagnostic findings, and questionnaires. Results: A total of 401 patients (217 women and 184 men; mean age, 54.96 ± 15.43 years) were enrolled. A total of 90.1% of patients indicated no discomfort with the telerobotic US examination. For the examination duration, telerobotic US took longer than conventional US (12.54 ± 3.20 min vs. 7.23 ± 2.10 min, p = 0.001). For image quality scores, the results of the two methods were similar (4.54 ± 0.63 vs. 4.57 ± 0.61, p = 0.112). No significant differences were found between the two methods in measurements for the aorta, portal vein, gallbladder, kidney (longitudinal diameter), prostate, and uterus; however, telerobotic US underestimated the transverse diameter of the kidney (p < 0.05). A total of 504 positive results, including 31 different diseases, were detected. Among them, 455 cases were identified by the two methods; 17 cases were identified by telerobotic US only; and 32 cases were identified by conventional US only. There was good consistency in the diagnosis of 29 types of disease between the two methods (κ = 0.773–1.000). Furthermore, more than 90% of patients accepted the telerobotic US examination and agreed to pay additional fees in future. Conclusion: The 5G-based telerobotic US system can expand access to abdominal US services for patients in rural areas, thereby reducing health care disparities. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Drop-on-demand inkjet technology has played an irreplaceable role in various cutting-edge fields in the gaseous environment, which relies on the acoustic waves in the channel to dispense droplet. The droplet diameter is about 20–100 µm and is difficult to be further reduced. For the emerging high-resolution inkjet technology in a liquid environment based on the confined interface vibration triggered by acoustic waves in the printhead, the droplet size can be 10 times smaller than the orifice, which can also be facilely regulated. However, the residual vibrations of the confined interface will dispense secondary droplets when the stimulation is significant, interfering the uniformity of the printing results. Herein, a strategy that can regulate the interface behavior by manipulating the acoustic waves in the channel is proposed, which can achieve a significant main vibration while the residual vibrations are effectively suppressed. A mathematical model is constructed based on the experimental phenomenon to explain how the interface behavior is regulated. The influence of echo time on the interface vibrations, the mechanisms of how the residual vibrations affect the subsequent main vibration and primary droplet are revealed. This work provides a theoretical guidance for regulating droplet size and improving the printing resolution of inkjet in a liquid environment by regulating the acoustic waves in the channel, and demonstrates its practical application potential. As the main region where charged particles are accelerated by the electric field and accumulated near the cathode, the near-cathode region has significant non-local equilibrium characteristics and plays a crucial role in exploring the energy and mass transport properties of the thermal plasma from the arc column region to the hot cathode surface. However, there is a lack of universally adopted models and accepted theories for the study of the near-cathode region due to the complexity of the physical mechanisms involved in the sheath. According to the physical characteristics of the arc discharge, an external circuit is usually used to regulate the total current applied to the electrodes to maintain stable discharge. Therefore, the energy and mass transport properties of atmospheric thermal plasma driven by a current source coupled to an external circuit are investigated in this work to explore the transport mechanism of charged particles in the near-cathode region based on an implicit particle-in-cell Monte Carlo collision method. Firstly, the current-driven model in this work is compared with the present voltage-driven model and fluid model to verify the correctness of this model. Then, the collisions between charged particles and gas atoms inside the sheath are analyzed, and the spatial distributions of particle current density and particle heating rate inside the sheath are also studied. Finally, the variations of typical parameters of thermal particles under different current densities (106–107 A m−2) are analyzed, including maximum particle number density, maximum particle spatially-averaged temperature, sheath thickness, charge density and electric field strength in the cathode. Due to the absence of acquired immunity, insects primarily rely on their innate immune system to resist pathogenic microorganisms and parasitoids in natural habitats. This innate immune system can be classified into cellular immunity and humoral immunity. Cellular immunity is mediated by hemocytes, which perform phagocytosis, aggregation, and encapsulation to fight against invaders, whereas the humoral immunity primarily activates the immune signaling pathways and induces the generation of immune effectors. Existing studies have revealed that the hemipteran aphids lack some crucial immune genes compared to other insect species, indicating the different immune mechanisms in aphids. The current review summarizes the adverse impacts of pathogenic microorganisms and parasitoids on aphids, introduces the cellular and humoral immune systems in insects, and analyzes the differences between aphids and other insect species. Furthermore, our review also discussed the existing prospects and challenges in aphid immunity research, and proposed the potential application of immune genes in green pest management. Tomato crop yield can be negatively impacted by various diseases and pests. The application of computer vision to diagnose tomato diseases and pests presents two significant challenges. Firstly, the collected dataset of tomato pests and diseases is often imbalanced, leading to poor model performance. Secondly, mainstream models struggle to balance the relationship between training efficiency and accuracy. In this paper, we propose a novel method for diagnosing tomato pests and diseases using a lightweight network. Specifically, we develop Squeeze and SE Net (SSNet), a new convolutional neural network (CNN) based on SqueezeNet and SENet. We evaluate the performance of SSNet through comparative experiments for diagnosing tomato pests and diseases. Additionally, we examine the impact of dataset balance, data volume, and hyperparameters on model performance. Our results demonstrate that SSNet achieves model accuracies of 98.80% and 98.39% for tomato pests and diseases, respectively, with only 0.398 M parameters. The purpose of this study was to identify the target genes of tcon_00044595, elucidate its activation site, and provide novel insights into the pathogenesis and treatment of neonatal hypoxic–ischemic brain damage (HIBD). Through homologous blast analysis, we identified predicted target sequences in the neighboring regions of the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) tcon_00044595, suggesting that limd1 is its target gene. Starbase was utilized to identify potential candidate microRNAs associated with the lncRNA. The interaction between the candidate microRNAs and limd1 was investigated and validated using various experimental methods including in vitro cell culture, cell transfection, dual fluorescence reporter detection system, and real-time PCR. Homology alignment analysis revealed that the lncRNA tcon_00044595 exhibited a 246 bp homologous sequence at the 3' end of the adjacent limd1 gene, with a conservation rate of 68%. Analysis conducted on Starbase online identified three potential microRNA candidates: miR-3471, miR-883a-5p, and miR-214-3p. Intracellular expression of the limd1 gene was significantly down-regulated upon transfection with miR-3471, while the other two microRNAs did not produce noticeable effects. Luciferase reporter assays identified two interaction sites (UTR-1, UTR-2) between miR-3471 and the limd1 3ʹUTR, with UTR-1 exhibiting a strong influence. Further CCK8 assay indicated a protective role of miR-3471 during low oxygen stroke in HIBD. The potential regulatory relationship between lncRNA (tcon_00044595), miR-3471, and the target gene limd1 suggests their involvement in the occurrence and development of HIBD, providing new insights for investigating the underlying mechanisms and exploring targeted therapeutic approaches for HIBD. Long-term use of sevoflurane, an inhalation anesthetic, could negatively impact cognitive function. Current studies have suggested that cognitive impairment induced by sevoflurane may be associated with neuroinflammation. Sestrin2 (SESN2), which belongs to a family of stress-inducible genes, has been reported to exert neuroprotective effects against brain injury. However, its role and underlying mechanisms in sevoflurane-induced cognitive dysfunction in aged rats remain unknown. A sevoflurane-induced aging rat injury model with or without SESN2 overexpression was constructed. The learning and memory abilities of rats were evaluated by the MWM test. ELISA assay and qRT-PCR were conducted to analyze the level of pro-inflammatory factors in the hippocampus. Levels of oxidative stress markers were measured by DHE staining or kit methods. Neuronal apoptosis in the hippocampus was detected using TUNEL assay. Expression of proteins were analyzed by western blot. Sevoflurane exposure caused elevated protein level of SESN2 in hippocampus and cognitive impairment of aged rats. Importantly, overexpression of SESN2 alleviated sevoflurane-induced cognitive dysfunction and inhibited the production of pro-inflammatory factors, oxidative stress, and neuronal apoptosis in the hippocampus. Furthermore, SESN2 overexpression suppressed NLRP3 inflammasome activation induced by sevoflurane. Pathogenicity of the zoonotic pathogen Toxoplasma gondii largely depends on the secretion of effector proteins into the extracellular milieu and host cell cytosol, including the dense granule proteins (GRAs). The protein-encoding gene TGME49_299780 was previously identified as a contributor to parasite fitness. However, its involvement in parasite growth, virulence and infectivity in vitro and in vivo remains unknown. Here, we comprehensively examined the role of this new protein, termed GRA76, in parasite pathogenicity. Subcellular localization revealed high expression of GRA76 in tachyzoites inside the parasitophorous vacuole (PV). However, its expression was significantly decreased in bradyzoites. A CRISPR-Cas9 approach was used to knock out the gra76 gene in the T. gondii type I RH strain and type II Pru strain. The in vitro plaque assays and intracellular replication showed the involvement of GRA76 in replication of RH and Pru strains. Deletion of the gra76 gene significantly decreased parasite virulence, and reduced the brain cyst burden in mice. Using RNA sequencing, we detected a significant increase in the expression of bradyzoite-associated genes such as BAG1 and LDH2 in the PruΔ gra76 strain compared with the wild-type Pru strain. Using an in vitro bradyzoite differentiation assay, we showed that loss of GRA76 significantly increased the propensity for parasites to form bradyzoites. Immunization with PruΔ gra76 conferred partial protection against acute and chronic infection in mice. Background: Identification of promising targeted antigens that exhibited cancer-specific expression is a crucial step in the development of novel antibody-targeted therapies. We here aimed to investigate the anti-tumor activity of a novel monoclonal antibody (mAb) 11C9 and identify the antibody tractable target in the hepatocellular cancer stem cells (HCSCs). Methods: The identification of the targeted antigen was conducted using SDS-PAGE, western blot, mass spectrometry, and co-immunoprecipitation. Silence of HSP90 was induced by siRNA interference. Positive cells were sorted by fluorescence-activated cell sorting. Double-immunofluorescent (IF) staining and two-color flow cytometry detected the co-expression. Self-renewal, invasion, and drug resistance were assessed by sphere formation, matrigel-coated Transwell assay, and CCK-8 assay, respectively. Tumorigenicity was evaluated in mouse xenograft models. RNA-seq and bioinformatics analysis were performed to explore the mechanism of mAb 11C9 and potential targets. Results: MAb 11C9 inhibited invasion and self-renewal abilities of HCC cell lines and reversed the cisplatin resistance. HSP90 (~ 95 kDa) was identified as a targeted antigen of mAb 11C9. Tissue microarrays and online databases revealed that HSP90 was overexpressed in HCC and associated with a poor prognosis. FACS and double-IF staining showed the co-expression of HSP90 and CSCs markers (CD90 and ESA). In vitro and in vivo demonstrated the tumorigenic potentials of HSP90. The inhibition of HSP90 by siRNA interference or 17-AAG inhibitor both decreased the number of invasion, sphere cells, and CD90+ or ESA+ cells, as well as reversed the resistance. Bioinformatics analysis and western blot verified that HSP90 activated Wnt/β-catenin signaling. Conclusions: The study preliminarily revealed the anti-tumor activity of mAb 11C9. More importantly, we identified HSP90 as a targeted antigen of mAb 11C9, which functions as an oncogene in phenotype shaping, stemness maintenance, and therapeutic resistance by activating Wnt/β-catenin signaling. Tea by-products can effectively enhance productivity and the quality of livestock products, as well as strengthen the body's disease resistance. Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) is a prevalent central nervous system complication predominantly observed in elderly patients. Sevoflurane, a general anaesthetic agent, has been implicated in the development of POCD, yet the underlying regulatory mechanisms potentially involving Sestrin1 (SESN1), a stress‐responsive protein that plays a critical role in cellular homeostasis and protection against stress‐induced damage, including oxidative stress and DNA damage, remain elusive. This study endeavoured to elucidate the impact of SESN1 on sevoflurane‐induced cognitive impairment in rats. Employing a model in which SESN1 was transfected into SD male rats and cognitive dysfunction was induced by sevoflurane. The Morris Water Maze test was used for behavioural evaluation, Enzyme‐Linked Immunosorbent Assay, Western blotting and immunofluorescence were applied to assess the influence of SESN1 on the inflammatory response and mitophagy in the rat hippocampus. The study further aimed to uncover the putative mechanism by which SESN1, through SIRT1, might modulate cognitive function. Concurrently, levels of malondialdehyde, superoxide dismutase and mitochondrially produced ATP within the rat hippocampus were quantified. Experimental outcomes suggested that SESN1 overexpression significantly mitigated the deleterious effects of sevoflurane anaesthesia, ameliorated neuroinflammation and inflammasome activation, modified mitochondrial function and facilitated mitophagy. Additionally, SESN1, via the activation of SIRT1, may suppress inflammasome activation and mitochondrial dysfunction. Collectively, these findings underscore SESN1's integral role in counteracting sevoflurane‐induced cognitive impairment, impeding inflammasome activation, enhancing mitochondrial function and fostering mitophagy, which appear to be intricately linked to SESN1‐mediated SIRT1 activation. Simple Summary: Overexpressing the EPSPS gene may increase the consumption of ambient CO2 by plants. To explore the relationship between CO2 consumption by plants and expression of the EPSPS gene, we measured the expression level of the EPSPS gene, intercellular CO2 concentration, expression of global genes, and photosynthetic ratios in genetically engineered (GE) and non-GE Arabidopsis and rice plants. Our results showed substantial increases in EPSPS gene expression, CO2 consumption, expression of genes in carbon-fixation related pathways, and photosynthetic ratios. The results indicate that overexpressing the EPSPS gene can enhance CO2 consumption by GE plants with increased expression of genes in carbon-fixation related pathways. The findings not only expand our knowledge on the relationship between overexpression of the EPSPS gene(s) and carbon fixation, but also provide a novel strategy to reduce global CO2 for carbon neutrality, in addition to increases in crop production by genetic engineering of the EPSPS gene(s) in plants. With the increasing challenges of climate change caused by global warming, the effective reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2) becomes an urgent environmental issue for the sustainable development of human society. Previous reports indicated increased biomass in genetically engineered (GE) Arabidopsis and rice overexpressing the 5-enolpyruvylshikimate-3-phosphate synthase (EPSPS) gene, suggesting the possibility of consuming more carbon by GE plants. However, whether overexpressing the EPSPS gene in GE plants consumes more CO2 remains a question. To address this question, we measured expression of the EPSPS gene, intercellular CO2 concentration, photosynthetic ratios, and gene expression (RNA-seq and RT-qPCR) in GE (overexpression) and non-GE (normal expression) Arabidopsis and rice plants. Results showed substantially increased EPSPS expression accompanied with CO2 consumption in the GE Arabidopsis and rice plants. Furthermore, overexpressing the EPSPS gene affected carbon-fixation related biological pathways. We also confirmed significant upregulation of four key carbon-fixation associated genes, in addition to increased photosynthetic ratios, in all GE plants. Our finding of significantly enhanced carbon fixation in GE plants overexpressing the EPSPS transgene provides a novel strategy to reduce global CO2 for carbon neutrality by genetic engineering of plant species, in addition to increased plant production by enhanced photosynthesis. Venous thromboembolism, which includes deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism, is the third most common vascular disease in the world and seriously threatens the lives of patients. Currently, the effect of conventional treatments on DVT is limited. Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs) play an important role in the resolution and recanalization of DVT, but an unfavorable microenvironment reduces EPC function. Non-coding RNAs, especially long non-coding RNAs and microRNAs, play a crucial role in improving the biological function of EPCs. Non-coding RNAs have become clinical biomarkers of diseases and are expected to serve as new targets for disease intervention. A theoretical and experimental basis for the development of new methods for preventing and treating DVT in the clinic will be provided by studies on the role and molecular mechanism of non-coding RNAs regulating EPC function in the occurrence and development of DVT. To summarize, the characteristics of venous thrombosis, the regulatory role of EPCs in venous thrombosis, and the effect of non-coding RNAs regulating EPCs on venous thrombosis are reviewed. In this study, we evaluated IL-15 stimulated natural killer cell-derived EVs (NK-EVs) as therapeutic agents in vitro and in vivo in Osimertinib-resistant lung cancer (H1975R) with EGFR mutations (L858R) in combination with carboplatin (CBP). NK-EVs were isolated by ultracentrifugation and characterized by nanoparticle tracking analysis, and atomic force microscopy imaging revealed vesicles with a spherical form and sizes meeting the criteria of exosomal EVs. Further, Western blot studies demonstrated the presence of regular EV markers along with specific NK markers (perforin and granzyme). EVs were also characterized by proteomic analysis, which demonstrated that EVs had proteins for natural killer cell-mediated cytotoxicity (Granzyme B) and T cell activation (perforin and plastin-2). Gene oncology analysis showed that these differentially expressed proteins are involved in programmed cell death and positive regulation of cell death. Further, isolated NK-EVs were cytotoxic to H1975R cells in vitro in 2D and 3D cell cultures. CBP's IC50 was reduced by approximately in 2D and 3D cell cultures when combined with NK-EVs. The EVs were then combined with CBP and administered by i.p. route to H1975R tumor xenografts, and a significant reduction in tumor volume in vivo was observed. Our findings show for the first time that NK-EVs target the PD-L1/PD-1 immunological checkpoint to induce apoptosis and anti-inflammatory response by downregulation of SOD2, PARP, BCL2, SET, NF-κB, and TGF-ß. The ability to isolate functional NK-EVs on a large scale and use them with platinum-based drugs may lead to new clinical applications. In order to achieve a breakthrough in the exploration of uranium orebodies in the Changjiang area of Guangdong province in China, the geo-electrochemical exploration method is used for mineral resource prediction. The logarithmically and isometric log-ratio (ilr) transformations are applied to the geo-electrochemical data in this study area to extract geochemical anomalies. The relationship between element associations and mineralization is revealed through descriptive statistical analysis and further biplot analysis. Then, the energy spectrum density–area fractal model (S-A model) is used to identify geochemical backgrounds and anomalies. The results show that: (i) the logarithmically and ilr-transformed data are more uniform, and they more or less obey the rules of normal distribution; (ii) the biplot shows that the ilr-transformed data eliminates the closure effect, and the robust principal component analysis (RPCA) has a better indicative significance for element associations—PC1 reveals the mineralization element association dominated by U and the multiple periods of hydrothermal activity; (iii) the S-A method could extract the local anomalies from different geochemical backgrounds, which indicates mineralization is more reliable. Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of early cumulus cell removal (ECCR) during human in vitro fertilization (IVF). Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed between January 2011 and December 2019. The study enrolled 1131 couples who underwent IVF treatment with ECCR. After propensity score matching at a 1:1 ratio, 1131 couples who underwent overnight coincubation of gametes were selected. The main outcome measure was the cumulative live birth rate. Secondary outcome measures included the cumulative pregnancy rate, polyspermy rate, available embryo rate, miscarriage rate, malformation rate, time to live birth, and oocyte-to-baby rate. Results: There were no significant differences found between the two groups in the polyspermy rate, available embryo rate, miscarriage rate, time to live birth, oocyte-to-baby rate, and neonatal congenital anomalies rate. The results of the study showed that ECCR was associated with a significantly higher cumulative live birth rate and cumulative pregnancy rate, along with a significantly lower fertilization rate. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by human‐induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) have great potential as cell‐free therapies in various diseases, including prevention of blood–brain barrier senescence and stroke. However, there are still challenges in pre‐clinical and clinical use of hiPSC‐EVs due to the need for large‐scale production of a large quantity. Vertical‐Wheel bioreactors (VWBRs) have design features that allow the biomanufacturing of hiPSC‐EVs using a scalable aggregate or microcarrier‐based culture system under low shear stress. EV secretion by undifferentiated hiPSCs expanded as 3‐D aggregates and on Synthemax II microcarriers in VWBRs were investigated. Additionally, two types of EV collection media, mTeSR and HBM, were compared. The hiPSCs were characterized by metabolite and transcriptome analysis as well as EV biogenesis markers. Protein and microRNA cargo were analysed by proteomics and microRNA‐seq, respectively. The in vitro functional assays of microglia stimulation and proliferation were conducted. HiPSCs expanded as 3‐D aggregates and on microcarriers had comparable cell number, while microcarrier culture had higher glucose consumption, higher glycolysis and lower autophagy gene expression based on mRNA‐seq. The microcarrier cultures had at least 17–23 fold higher EV secretion, and EV collection in mTeSR had 2.7–3.7 fold higher yield than HBM medium. Microcarrier culture with mTeSR EV collection had a smaller EV size than other groups, and the cargo was enriched with proteins (proteomics) and miRNAs (microRNA‐seq) reducing apoptosis and promoting cell proliferation (e.g. Wnt‐related pathways). hiPSC‐EVs demonstrated the ability of stimulating proliferation and M2 polarization of microglia in vitro. HiPSC expansion on microcarriers produces much higher yields of EVs than hiPSC aggregates in VWBRs. EV collection in mTeSR increases yield compared to HBM. The biomanufactured EVs from microcarrier culture in mTeSR have exosomal characteristics and are functional in microglia stimulation, which paves the ways for future in vivo anti‐aging study. Background: Bladder cancer (BCa) is a highly malignant tumor, and if left untreated, it can develop severe hematuria and tumor metastasis, thereby endangering the patient's life. The purpose of this paper was to detect the expression of ATAD3A in BCa and research the relationship between ATAD3A and pathological features of bladder cancer and the prognosis of patients. Methods: First, the expression of ATAD3A in BCa and normal bladder tissues was analyzed based on the UALCAN and Oncomine public databases. Second, 491 cases of surgically resected bladder cancer specimens and 110 cases of normal adjacent tissues were immunohistochemically stained. The expression of ATAD3A was quantified, and the value and prognosis of ATAD3A as a biomarker of BCa were evaluated. Results: The expression of ATAD3A in bladder cancer tissues was higher than that in normal bladder mucosa. High expression of ATAD3A was correlated with patient age, tumor size, number of tumors, distant metastasis, lymph node metastasis, lymphovascular invasion, and TNM stage (p < 0.05). Overexpression of ATAD3A is closely related to cancer patient survival. The mean survival time of bladder cancer patients with high ATAD3A expression was shorter than those with low ATAD3A levels. According to the relative comparing result, the high ATAD3A expression herald reduced overall survival in BCa patients. Conclusions: The abnormal overexpression of ATAD3A may be related to the initiation and progress of bladder cancer. The upregulation of ATAD3A can be used as an effective indicator to diagnose bladder cancer and predict tumor progression. Furthermore, the combination of information from public databases and the results of clinical sample analysis can help us better understand the mechanism of action of molecular oncogenes in bladder cancer. The assessment and prevention of mineral and bone disorder (MBD) in kidney transplant recipients (KTRs) have not been standardized. This study aimed to evaluate MBD one year after kidney transplantation (KT) and identify the influencing factors of MBD. A total of 95 KTRs in our center were enrolled. The changes in bone mineral density (BMD) and bone metabolism biochemical markers, including serum calcium (Ca), phosphorus(P), 25-hydroxyvitamin D(25(OH)vitD), intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH), bone alkaline phosphatase, osteocalcin (OC), type I collagen N-terminal peptide and type I collagen C-terminal peptide (CTx), over one year after KT were assessed. The possible influencing factors of BMD were analyzed. The relationships between bone metabolism biochemical markers were evaluated. The indicators between groups with or without iPTH normalization were also compared. MBD after KT was manifested as an increased prevalence of hypophosphatemia and bone loss, persistent 25(OH)vitD deficiency, and partially decreased PTH and bone turnover markers (BTMs). Femoral neck BMD was positively correlated with body mass index (BMI) and postoperative 25(OH)vitD, and negatively correlated with postoperative PTH. Lumbar spine BMD was positively correlated with BMI and preoperative TG, and negatively correlated with preoperative OC and CTx. BMD loss was positively associated with glucocorticoid accumulation. Preoperative and postoperative iPTH was negatively correlated with postoperative serum P and 25(OH)vitD, and positively correlated with postoperative Ca and BTMs. The recipients without iPTH normalization, who accounted for 41.0% of all KTRs, presented with higher Ca, lower P, higher BTMs, advanced age, and a higher prevalence of preoperative parathyroid hyperplasia. Given the inconsistent results on the prognostic significance of epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), the purpose of the present study was to investigate the association of EAT thickness and myocardial work by non-invasive left ventricular pressure-strain loop in people with suspected metabolic syndrome (MS). A total of 194 participants imaged with echocardiography were evaluated. In accordance with the median EAT thickness, MS patients fell into thin EAT group and thick EAT group. Conventional echocardiographic parameters, global longitudinal strain (GLS) and the global myocardial work parameters obtained by pressure-strain loop analysis, comprising the global work index (GWI), global work efficiency (GWE), global constructive work (GCW) and global wasted work (GWW) were compared between the two groups. In comparison with the thin EAT group, thick EAT group achieved significantly higher values in interventricular septal thickness, end-diastolic left ventricular posterior wall thickness, left ventricular mass index and GWW (p < 0.05). while the absolute value of GLS, GWI, GCW, and GWE were notably lower in the thick EAT group (p < 0.001). EAT thickness showed a significant correlation with GWI and GCW (r = − 0.328, p = 0.001; r = − 0.253, p = 0.012), and also independently correlated with GWI and GCW in the multivariate regression analysis (β = − 0.310, p = 0.001; β = − 0.199, p = 0.049). EAT thickness is associated with left ventricular myocardial function in subjects with suspected metabolic syndrome, independently of other risk factors. Integrins, which consist of two non-covalently linked α and β subunits, play a crucial role in cell–cell adhesion and cell-extracellular matrix (ECM) interactions. Among them, integrin β1 is the most common subunit and has emerged as a key mediator in cancer, influencing various aspects of cancer progression, including cell motility, adhesion, migration, proliferation, differentiation and chemotherapy resistance. However, given the complexity and sometimes contradictory characteristics, targeting integrin β1 for therapeutics has been a challenge. The emerging understanding of the mechanisms regulating by integrin β1 may guide the development of new strategies for anti-cancer therapy. In this review, we summarize the multiple functions of integrin β1 and signaling pathways which underlie the involvement of integrin β1 in several malignant cancers. Our review suggests the possibility of using integrin β1 as a therapeutic target and highlights the need for patient stratification based on expression of different integrin receptors in future clinical studies. Highlights: What are the main findings? Mechanical properties of steel fiber-reinforced coal gangue concrete (SCGC) are tested, proving the effectiveness of strength enhancement of SCGC and helping to expand the application range of SCGC. The damage evolution model of SCGC under freeze–thaw cycles (FTCs) is established by introducing damage variables of coal gangue and SCGC. What is the implication of the main finding? This study provides key experimental data and a theoretical basis for a wider range of proper uti-lization of coal gangue in cold regions. In order to improve the utilization rate of coal gangue and expand the application range of coal gangue concrete (CGC), a certain proportion of steel fiber was added to the concrete, and the freeze–thaw cycles (FTCs) and flexural tests were used to explore the effects of different mass replacement rates of coal gangue (0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%) and different proportions of the volumetric blending of the steel fiber (0%, 0.8%, 1.0%, and 1.2%) on the frost resistance of steel fiber-reinforced CGC (SCGC). The governing laws of mass loss rate, relative dynamic elastic modulus and load–midspan deflection curve were obtained on the base of the analysis of testing results. The damage mechanisms of the SCGC under the FTCs were analyzed using the results of scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Based on the Lemaitre's strain equivalence principle and Krajcinovic's vector damage theory, a damage evolution model of the SCGC under the FTCs was established by introducing the damage variable of the SCGC satisfying Weibull distribution. The results show an increasing mass loss rate of the SCGC and a decreasing relative dynamic elastic modulus with an increasing mass replacement rate of coal gangue. The proper content of the steel fiber can reduce the mass loss rate of concrete by 10~40% and the relative loss rate of dynamic elastic modulus of concrete by 2~8%, thus significantly improving the ductility and toughness of the concrete. The established damage evolution model is well validated by the experimental results, which further help to improve the modelling accuracy. Do victims really help their abusive supervisors? Does abusive supervision have any positive consequence? The study aims to address this concern through extending the work by Tröster and Van Quaquebeke (2021). Using subordinates' self-reports, Tröster and Van Quaquebeke (2021) found that abusive supervision in high-quality leader–member exchange (LMX) relationship motivates subordinates to blame themselves, subsequently making them feel guilty and make up for it by being more helpful. By integrating both subordinates' and supervisors' perspectives, and using multi-wave, multi-source, and multi-level data collected in China, we obtain three major findings. First, as a replication of their findings, LMX moderates the direct effect of abusive supervision on workplace self-blame, and the indirect effect of abusive supervision on workplace guilt via workplace self-blame. The positive direct and indirect effects are stronger when LMX quality is higher. Second, different from their findings, LMX moderates the indirect effect of abusive supervision on supervisor-directed helping (evaluated by supervisors) via workplace self-blame and workplace guilt such that the negative indirect effect is stronger when LMX quality is higher. Third, as an extension, supervisor-evaluated LMX (SLMX) moderates the effect of workplace guilt on supervisor-directed helping such that the negative effect is stronger when SLMX is lower-quality. Put together, LMX and SLMX moderate the indirect effect of abusive supervision on supervisor-directed helping via workplace self-blame and workplace guilt. The negative indirect effect is stronger when LMX quality is higher, but SLMX quality is lower. As the next generation of advanced adiabatic compressed air energy storage systems is being developed, designing a novel integrated system is essential for its successful adaptation in the various grid load demands. This study proposes a novel design framework for a hybrid energy system comprising a CAES system, gas turbine, and high-temperature solid oxide fuel cells, aiming for power generation and energy storage solutions. The overall model of the hybrid power generation system was constructed in Aspen PlusTM, and the mass balance, energy balance, and thermodynamic properties of the thermal system were simulated and analyzed. The results demonstrate that the hybrid system utilizes the functional complementarity of CAES and solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs), resulting in the cascade utilization of energy, a flexible operation mode, and increased efficiency. The overall round-trip efficiency of the system is 63%, and the overall exergy efficiency is 67%, with a design net power output of 12.5 MW. Additionally, thermodynamic analysis shows that it is advisable to operate the system under lower ambient temperatures of 25 °C, higher compressor and turbine isentropic efficiencies of 0.9, a higher fuel utilization of 0.62, and optimal SOFC/MGT split air flow rates of 1.1 kg/s. We propose a network optimization model for smart energy market management in the context of an uncertain environment. The network optimization considers the stochastic programming approach to capture the randomness of the unknown demands. We utilize the particle swarm optimization technique in the proposed model to solve the proposed optimization problem. The present research is based on the inclusion of stochastic demands and uncertain energy prices. Optimizing produced energy is crucial for efficient usage and meeting the targets. The proposed model also focuses on addressing sustainability concerns by minimizing energy consumption in the scheduling process. An improved particle swarm optimization technique is implemented for energy-efficient production. Parameters such as number of particles, iterations, and energy usage specification are customized. A fitness function is taken that considers both completion time and energy consumption. The optimal of energy consumption is also visualized. In the present paper, the dislocation-precipitate interaction in the Inconel 718 superalloy is studied by means of molecular dynamics simulation. The atomistic model composed of the ellipsoidal N i 3 N b precipitate (γ″ phase) and the N i matrix is constructed, and tensile tests on the composite N i 3 N b @ N i system along different loading directions are simulated. The dislocation propagation behaviors in the precipitate interior and at the surface of the precipitate are characterized. The results indicate that the dislocation shearing and bypassing simultaneously occur during plastic deformation. The contact position of the dislocation on the surface of the precipitate could affect the penetration depth of the dislocation. The maximum obstacle size, allowing for the dislocation shearing on the slip planes, is found to be close to 20 nm. The investigation of anisotropic plastic deformation behavior shows that the composite system under the loading direction along the major axis of the precipitate experiences stronger shear strain localizations than that with the loading direction along the minor axis of the precipitate. The precipitate size effect is quantified, indicating that the larger the precipitate, the lower the elastic limit of the flow stress of the composite system. The dislocation accumulations in the precipitate are also examined with the dislocation densities given on specific slip systems. Given the inconsistent results on the prognostic significance of epicardial adipose tissue (EAT), the purpose of the present study was to investigate the association of EAT thickness and myocardial work by non-invasive left ventricular pressure-strain loop in people with suspected metabolic syndrome (MS). A total of 194 participants imaged with echocardiography were evaluated. In accordance with the median EAT thickness, MS patients fell into thin EAT group and thick EAT group. Conventional echocardiographic parameters, global longitudinal strain (GLS) and the global myocardial work parameters obtained by pressure-strain loop analysis, comprising the global work index (GWI), global work efficiency (GWE), global constructive work (GCW) and global wasted work (GWW) were compared between the two groups. In comparison with the thin EAT group, thick EAT group achieved significantly higher values in interventricular septal thickness, end-diastolic left ventricular posterior wall thickness, left ventricular mass index and GWW (p < 0.05). while the absolute value of GLS, GWI, GCW, and GWE were notably lower in the thick EAT group (p < 0.001). EAT thickness showed a significant correlation with GWI and GCW (r = − 0.328, p = 0.001; r = − 0.253, p = 0.012), and also independently correlated with GWI and GCW in the multivariate regression analysis (β = − 0.310, p = 0.001; β = − 0.199, p = 0.049). EAT thickness is associated with left ventricular myocardial function in subjects with suspected metabolic syndrome, independently of other risk factors. Aims To investigate the epiphytic microbiota in grass-clover herbage harvested at different sites and occasions and to explore the effect of different silage additives on the resulting silage microbiota. Methods and results Herbage was harvested from grass-clover leys at geographically distributed sites in a long-term field experiment in Sweden, in early and late season of two consecutive years. Different silages were made from the herbage using: (1) no additive, (2) acid-treatment, and (3) inoculation by starter culture. Herbages were analysed for botanical and chemical composition, and the resulting silages for products of fermentation. Bacterial DNA was extracted from herbage and silage samples, followed by sequencing using Illumina 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing. Herbage microbiota showed no clear correlation to site or harvesting time. Silage additives had a major effect on the ensiling process; inoculation resulted in well fermented silages comprising a homogenous microbiota dominated by the genera Lactobacillus and Pediococcus. A minor effect of harvest time was also observed, with generally a more diverse microbiota in second-harvest silages. Untreated silages showed a higher relative abundance (RA) from non-lactic acid bacteria compared to acid-treated silages. In most silages, only a few bacterial amplicon sequence variants contributed to most of the RA. Conclusions The epiphytic microbiota in grass-clover herbage were found to be random and not dependent on site. From a microbial point of view, the most predictable and preferable silage outcome was obtained by inoculation with a starter culture. Acid-treatment with formic- and propionic acid surprisingly resulted in a less preferable silage. Silage making without additives cannot be recommended based on our results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The distinctive fluorine effects on "on-water" chemistry have remained less explored. In this work, an "on-water" reaction of β-trifluoromethylated enones with phosphine oxides was developed for the preparation of highly functionalized gem-difluorodienes with excellent Z-selectivity. The reaction occurred through a well-designed tandem phospha-Brook rearrangement and defluorination sequence under transition-metal-free conditions in water solution, which efficiently overcame some competitive side reactions, such as hydrodefluorination, 1,4-nucleophilic addition, and phosphorylation. Cities are the main emission sources of the CO2 produced by energy use around the globe and have a great impact on the variation of climate. Although the implications of urbanization and socioeconomic elements for carbon emission have been extensively explored, previous studies have mostly focused on developed cities, and there is a lack of research into naturally related elements due to the limited data. At present, remote sensing data provide favorable conditions for the study of large-scale and long-time series. Also, the spillover mechanism of urbanization effects on the discharge of carbon has not been fully studied. Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish the types of influence that various urbanization factors have on emissions of CO2. Firstly, this study quantifies the urban CO2 emissions in China by utilizing nighttime lighting images. Then, the spatio-temporal variations and spatial dependence modes of CO2 emissions are explored for 284 cities in China from 2000–2018. Finally, the study further ascertains that multi-dimensional urbanization, socio-economic and climate variables affect the discharge of carbon using spatial regression models. The results indicate that CO2 emissions have a remarkable positive spatial autocorrelation. Urbanization significantly increases CO2 emissions, of which the land urbanization contribution towards CO2 emissions is the most important in terms of spillover effects. Specifically, the data on urbanization's direct effects reveal that CO2 emissions will increase 0.066%when the urbanization level of a city rises 1%, while the spillover effect indicates that an 0.492% emissions increase is associated with a 1% rise of bordering cities' average urbanization level. As for the socio-economic factors, population density suppresses CO2 emissions, while technological levels boost CO2 emissions. The natural control factors effect a remarkable impact on CO2 emissions by adjusting energy consumption. Although obesity has been proposed as a risk factor for periodontitis, the influence of excessive fat accumulation on the development of periodontitis and periodontal recovery from disease remains largely unknown. This study investigated the cellular response of periodontal ligament stem cells (PDLSCs) to elevated levels of a specific fatty acid, namely, palmitic acid (PA). The mechanism by which PA exposure compromises the osteogenic potential of cells was also explored. It was found that exposure of PDLSCs to abundant PA led to decreased cell osteogenic differentiation. Given that long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play a key role in the stem cell response to adverse environmental stimuli, we screened the lncRNAs that were differentially expressed in PDLSCs following PA exposure using lncRNA microarray analysis, and AC018926.2 was identified as the lncRNA that was most sensitive to PA. Next, gain/loss‐of‐function studies illustrated that AC018926.2 was an important regulator in PA‐mediated osteogenic differentiation of PDLSCs. Mechanistically, AC018926.2 upregulated integrin α2 (ITGA2) expression and therefore activated ITGA2/FAK/AKT signalling. Further functional studies revealed that inactivation of ITGA2/FAK/AKT signalling by silencing ITGA2 counteracted the pro‐osteogenic effect induced by AC018926.2 overexpression. Moreover, the results of bioinformatics analysis and RNA immunoprecipitation assay suggested that AC018926.2 might transcriptionally regulate ITGA2 expression by binding to PARP1 protein. Theaflavins (TFs), the primary bioactive components in black tea, are poorly absorbed in the small intestine. However, the biological activity of TFs does not match their low bioavailability, which suggests that the gut microbiota plays a crucial role in their biotransformation and activities. In this study, we aimed to investigate the biotransferred metabolites of TFs produced by the human gut microbiota and these metabolites' function. We profiled the microbial metabolites of TFs by in vitro anaerobic human gut microbiota fermentation using liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) methods. A total of 17 microbial metabolites were identified, and their corresponding metabolic pathways were proposed. Moreover, full-length 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis revealed that the TFs altered the gut microbiota diversity and increased the relative abundance of specific members of the microbiota involved in the catabolism of the TFs, including Flavonifractor_plautii, Bacteroides_uniformis, Eubacterium_ramulus, etc. Notably, the antioxidant capacity of the TF sample increased after fermentation compared to the initial sample. Introduction: Autoinflammatory diseases (AIDs) constitute several disorders that are characterized by the presence of recurrent episodes of unprovoked inflammation due to dysregulated innate immune system in the absence of autoantibodies or infections. Most of them have a strong genetic background, with mutations in single genes involved in inflammation referred to monogenic AIDs. In this article, we will review the cardiac manifestations in various monogenic AIDs. Areas covered: Various cardiac manifestations can be seen in various monogenic AIDs, including pericarditis, valvular diseases, coronary diseases, cardiomyopathies, and pulmonary hypertension, especially in Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF). Expert commentary: Monogenic AIDs can manifest a variety of cardiac lesions, the most common of which is pericardial effusion, which may be local pericardial inflammation secondary to systemic inflammatory responses. While, the pathogenesis and incidence are still unclear. More research is still needed to explore the relationship between monogenic AIDs and cardiac damage for better understanding these diseases. Temporal event localisation (TEL) has recently attracted increasing attention due to the rapid development of video platforms. Existing methods are based on either fully/weakly supervised or unsupervised learning, and thus they rely on expensive data annotation and time‐consuming training. Moreover, these models, which are trained on specific domain data, limit the model generalisation to data distribution shifts. To cope with these difficulties, the authors propose a zero‐shot TEL method that can operate without training data or annotations. Leveraging large‐scale vision and language pre‐trained models, for example, CLIP, we solve the two key problems: (1) how to find the relevant region where the event is likely to occur; (2) how to determine event duration after we find the relevant region. Query guided optimisation for local frame relevance relying on the query‐to‐frame relationship is proposed to find the most relevant frame region where the event is most likely to occur. Proposal generation method relying on the frame‐to‐frame relationship is proposed to determine the event duration. The authors also propose a greedy event sampling strategy to predict multiple durations with high reliability for the given event. The authors' methodology is unique, offering a label‐free, training‐free, and domain‐free approach. It enables the application of TEL purely at the testing stage. The external voltage-driven polymer translocation through a conical pore (with a large opening at the entry and a small tip at the exit) is studied by using the Langevin dynamics simulation in this paper. The entire translocation process is divided into an approaching stage and a threading stage. First, the approaching stage starts from the polymer entering the large opening and ends up at a terminal monomer reaching the pore tip. In this stage, the polymer will undergo the conformation adjustment to fit the narrowed cross-sectional area of the pore, leading to three approaching modes: the non-stuck mode with a terminal monomer arriving at the pore tip smoothly, the weak-stuck mode for the polymer stuck inside the pore for a short duration with minor conformational adjustments, and the strong-stuck mode with major conformational changes and a long duration. The approaching times (the duration of the approaching stage) of the three approaching modes show different behavior as a function of the pore apex angle. Second, the threading stage describes that the polymer threads through the pore tip with a linear fashion. In this stage, an increase in the apex angle causes the reduction of the threading time (the duration of the threading stage) due to the increase in the driving force with the apex angle at the tip. Moreover, we also find that with the increase in the apex angle or the polymer length, the polymer threading dynamics will change from the quasi-equilibrium state to the non-equilibrium state.
