The Rapid Cycle Deliberate Practice (RCDP) simulation during neonatal resuscitation program (NRP) training provides in-event feedback for each simulation step, repeats the simulation from the beginning, and undergoes a continuous improvement process. It also offers after-event debriefing that involves follow-up discussion and reflection after completing simulations. These two methods differ in the timing and frequency of feedback application, and there may be differences in the effectiveness of neonatal resuscitation training. A quasi-experimental simulation study with a pre- and post-test design was used; the experimental group received RCDP simulation NRP training, based on the self-determination theory, while the control group received an after-event debriefing, following the NRP scenario. The experimental group displayed significantly improved clinical decision-making skills compared with the control group. When responding to emergencies involving high-risk newborns, we found that RCDP simulation during NRP training and better preparation for neonatal resuscitation among nursing students improved outcomes for newborns.

Silver sulfide in monoclinic phase (α-Ag2S) has attracted significant attention owing to its metal-like ductility and promising thermoelectric properties near room temperature. However, first-principles studies on this material by density functional theory calculations have been challenging as both the symmetry and atomic structure of α-Ag2S predicted from such calculations are inconsistent with experimental findings. Here, we propose that a dynamical approach is imperative for correctly describing the structure of α-Ag2S. The approach is based on a combination of ab initio molecular dynamics simulation and deliberately chosen density functional considering both proper treatment of the van der Waals interaction and on-site Coulomb interaction. The obtained lattice parameters and atomic site occupations of α-Ag2S are in good agreement with experimental data. A stable phonon spectrum at room temperature can be obtained from this structure, which also yields a bandgap in accord with experimental measurements. The dynamical approach thus paves the way for studying this important ductile semiconductor in not only thermoelectric but also optoelectronic applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

SCADE synchronization language is a common programming language for embedded system.It is often used to realize real-time embedded automatic control system in the research of equipment in aviation,aerospace,transportation and other safety critical fields.SCADE synchronization language is derived from the Lustre language,which adds more language structure to simplify source code.However,compared with Lustre language,the development of model checking technology of SCADE synchronous language is relatively backward.In this paper,we introduce a method and suite for model checking of SCADE programs.The core idea of the method is based on program transformation,that is,the SCADE program is finally transformed into equivalent Lustre program after lexical analysis,syntax analysis,abstract syntax tree generation,simplification,and then use JKind to complete the model checking.Moreover,we prove the correctness of the suite's model checking result by theoretical deduction and a large number of experiments.Experimental results show that the SCADE and Lustre programs with the same function produce the same model checking results,but the efficiency of SCADE is lower.

Solid-state electrolytes (SSEs) have brought significant advancements to secondary battery technology, but phosphides remain relatively unexplored compared to the extensively studied oxides, sulfides, and halides. In this study, we introduce a hierarchical approach for designing a Na-rich phosphide SSE. Starting with Na3P, one of the most Na-rich materials, we apply the concept of dilute element compounds, incorporating a small amount of a dopant element to preserve its Na-richness. This leads us to identify Na7TaP4 as a promising candidate. Subsequently, through phase engineering utilizing the inorganic crystal structure database, we pinpoint a superior phase for Na7TaP4 that exhibits significantly enhanced Na diffusion kinetics. Lastly, employing defect engineering, we determine that partial substitution of Ta with Zr or Hf can stabilize Na7TaP4 in the desired phase over the experimentally synthesized phase. This hierarchical approach not only reduces the Na diffusion activation energy of the initial material Na3P from 0.67 to 0.25 eV but also increases its band gap from 1.0 to 2.4 eV. These advancements show considerable promise for SSE applications. Abstract Aim To examine the effects of neonatal simulation‐based practice by applying flipped learning based on Tanner's clinical judgement model to pre‐simulation briefing for nursing students. Design A quasi‐experimental non‐equivalent control group pre‐ and postintervention design. Methods Using Tanner's clinical judgment model, flipped learning was developed and applied to the pre‐simulation briefing curriculum prior to the neonatal nursing simulation exercise. Flipped learning was compared with a general pre‐simulation briefing with 65 South Korean students. From September 7, 2019, to October 25, 2019. Results The experimental group's critical thinking, self‐confidence and clinical judgement ability increased, but knowledge, satisfaction and anxiety did not differ from that of the control group. Pre‐simulation briefing design focuses on improving students’ environmental comfort and reducing anxiety rather than developing complex reasoning skills and clinical judgement abilities. Applying flipped learning based on Tanner's clinical judgement model to pre‐simulation briefing increased critical thinking, self‐confidence and clinical judgement ability.

Opportunities fomr clinical training in the newborn nursery and neonatal intensive care units (NICU) are becoming insufficient and limited to observation-oriented training. Premature infants admitted to the NICU require specialized and highly sophisticated care. Therefore, this descriptive cross-sectional study aimed to understand nurses’ educational needs for establishing a high-risk premature infant nursing simulation training program. It used a descriptive cross-sectional design. We conducted a survey involving 99 newborn nursery and NICU nurses; data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, a paired t-test, an Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA), a Borich needs analysis, and the locus for focus to confirm educational priorities. The scores indicating the importance of nursing high-risk premature infants were higher than those of performance. Results indicated that the highest educational need was in the “treatment and procedure” domain. After deriving the priority of educational needs using the Borich needs analysis and the locus for focus, “maintenance of various tubes” showed the highest priority. By identifying the training priorities for high-risk premature infants nursing using various analytical frameworks, an extended reality simulation program met nurses’ high-risk premature infant nursing educational needs. Training for high-risk premature infants treatment and procedures—maintaining various tubes—is highly demanded by nurses and should be prioritized.

Zinc halides have been less explored even though they are a promising lead‐free family with the merits of environmental friendliness and low cost. Here, the organic–inorganic hybrid zinc halides are screened with aromatic molecules containing amino groups (MXDA: m‐Xylylenediamine, ABI: 2‐Aminobenzimidazole, pipda: 2‐piperidylmethylamine, p‐MPEA: p‐Methylphenethylamine), and six new compounds are discovered: (MXDA)ZnCl4 (1), (ABI)2ZnCl4 (2), (pipda)2H2OZnCl2 (3), [(pipda)4Zn2Br4]·H2O (4), (p‐MPEA)2ZnCl4 (5), and (p‐MPEA)2ZnBr4 (6). The discovered compounds exhibit diverse efficient light emissions (blue, green, yellow, and ultraviolet) under ultraviolet light irradiation. By doping Sb and Mn at the Zn site, (MXDA)ZnCl4 exhibits different colors of light under excitation light of different wavelengths, so it is successfully used for anti‐counterfeiting. (MXDA)Zn0.91Mn0.09Cl4 is also found to be an efficient X‐ray scintillator for X‐ray imaging. Among the as‐explored new phases, a maximum photoluminescent quantum yield of 82.60% is realized, enabling the utilization for white light‐emitting diodes. Purpose The aim of this study was to investigate internet addiction among middle school students and to examine the mediating effects of social support in the relationships of self-efficacy and self-control with internet addiction. Methods The participants in the study were 119 middle school students in J city. The measurements included a self-efficacy scale, a self-control scale, a social support scale, and the Internet Addiction Scale for Youth. Data were analyzed using the independent t-test or Mann-Whitney U test, one-way analysis of variance, the Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple-regression using SPSS version 22.0. Mediation effects were analyzed by the Sobel test and Baron and Kenny's hierarchical analysis technique. Results Significant correlations were found among self-efficacy, self-control, and internet addiction. Social support had partial mediating effects in the relationship between self-efficacy and internet addiction, as well as in the relationship between self-control and internet addition. Conclusion In order to prevent internet addiction, the promotion of interactions among peers, which is a component of social support, is particularly important. It is also necessary to promote face-to-face activities that can strengthen relationships. The findings suggest that intensifying social support may help reduce the level of internet addiction in middle school students.

Purpose This study was conducted to examine the effects of team-based problem-based learning combined with smart education among nursing students. Methods A quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group, pre-posttest design was used. The experimental group (n=36) received problem-based learning combined with smart education and lectures 7 times over the course of 7 weeks (100 minutes weekly). Control group (n=34) only received instructor-centered lectures 7 times over the course of 7 weeks (100 minutes weekly). Data were analyzed using the x2 test, the Fisher exact test, and the independent t-test with SPSS for Windows version 21.0. Defect formation energy governs the thermodynamics of a specific dopant within the host material. Here, we introduce an approach to decomposing the defect formation energy into intuitive components, each representing a distinct physical step in the process of defect formation. Through this approach, we illustrate that adhering solely to conventional criteria, such as ionic radius, may overlook potential dopants. Taking β-FeSi2, a promising high-temperature thermoelectric material, as an example, we demonstrate that non-intuitive chemical interactions can play a more significant role in lowering the defect formation energy. As a result, Ir on Fe site is found to exhibit unexpected low defect formation energy among the 26 candidate dopants and has been employed in experiment to enhance the thermoelectric figure of merit of n-type β-FeSi2. The understanding gained from this work could be of general interest for addressing the doping limit issue for other potential thermoelectric materials. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify the status of psychological health among boys in high school and to examine the mediating effects of social support on the relationship between anger and entrapment on psychological health. Methods: The participants in this study were 193 high school boys from Jeju. Measurements included state-trait anger expression inventory, entrapment scale, student social support scale, and questionnaires to assess mental and physical health. Data were analyzed using independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson correlation coefficient, simple and multiple regression techniques with the SPSS 21.0. Mediation analysis was performed with the Baron and Kenny’s method, and Sobel test. Results: Mean scores for anger experience, entrapment, social support, and psychological health were 29.81±7.34, 34.09±16.33, 45.75±7.02, 22.51±9.91, respectively. There was a significant correlation between anger experience and psychological health. Entrapment was significantly correlated with psychological health. Social support showed partial mediating effects in the relationship between anger experience and psychological health (Sobel test: Z=54.18. p
