This study investigates the effects of boron concentration on boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes for electrochemical sensors of ciprofloxacin. The effects of boron concentration, scan rate, and pH of BDD electrodes with boron concentrations of 0.1, 0.5, and 1% were examined to determine the optimal conditions. Furthermore, square wave voltammetry (SWV) in phosphate buffer pH 7 was used to analyze the electrochemical behavior of ciprofloxacin. The results revealed a linear calibration curve in the concentration range of 30–100 μM with a recovery of 85–110%. Meanwhile, BDD electrode with the highest boron concentration in this experiment (1%) showed a very low limit of detection of 0.17 μM, meaning that 1% BDD gave a highly sensitive and significant measurement result for the electrochemical sensor of ciprofloxacin. With the results given, this study provides new insights for controlling boron concentrations in diamond electrodes for the electrochemical sensors of quinolone antibiotics.

In this research, molecular imprinting polymers (MIPs) for D-arabinitol were synthesized using a bulk polymerization method through a noncovalent approach. The MIPs were prepared by using D-arabinitol as a template, acrylamide as a functional monomer, ethylene glycol dimethacrylateas cross-linker, benzoyl peroxide as an initiator and dimethyl sulfoxideas a porogen. MIPS was synthesized in several formulas with a different molar ratio of template to functional monomers and cross-linker. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were used to characterize the MIPs produced. A batch rebinding assay was used to test the binding efficiency of each formula. Batch rebinding test results revealed that MIPsF3 with a molar ratio of the template: monomer and cross-linker ratio respectively (1: 4: 25) had the highest binding capacity at 1.56 mgg(-1). The results of isotherm adsorption showed that the MIPs produced followed the Freundlich equation with an R-value of 0.97. The MIPs produced was also selective toward its isomeric compounds (i.e. L-arabinitol, adonitol, xylitol, and glucose). The extraction efficiency of the MIPs against D-arabinitol was 88.98%.

References 103 Appendix 112, The CMC has been successfully coupled with HPLC for the determination of ethynilestradiol and levonorgestrel in pharmaceutical preparations. The couple of the CMC with HPLC developed here takes advantage of integrating the three processes of continuous extraction, preconcentration, and separation in the CMC and provides a suitable method for determination of ethynilestradiol and levonorgestrel in pharmaceutical preparations. The proposed method shows a good performance based on the evaluation of several factors (i.e enrichment factor, linearity, reproducibility, accuracy, and sensitivity) and requires a quite simple instrumentation. In optimum condition, the enrichment factor of 71.56 (LEV) and of 72 (ETE) were achieved by introducing 10 mL of sample with the end volume of 100 µL. Good linearity (r2>0.99) was observed. The relative standard deviation (, Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Arbeit sind die Möglichkeiten der Anwendung von Chromatomembranzellen bei der automatisierten Analyse von Arzneimittelinhaltsstoffen untersucht worden. Untersuchungsobjekte sind in pharmazeutischen Proben enthaltene anorganische- (Zink und Kupfer) und organische Substanzen (Ethinylestradiol (ETE) und Levonorgestrel (LEV)). Ziel dieser Arbeit war es, die Chromatomembran-Methode zur Bestimmung von Ethinylestradiol und Levonorgestrel mit der HPLC und der von Zink und Kupfer mit der Spektrophotometrie zu kombinieren und entsprechende Verfahren zu entwickeln. Die Ergebnisse sollen mit den jeweiligen Standard-Methoden näher verglichen werden. Für die Kopplung mit der HPLC konnten im Rahmen dieser Arbeit leistungsfähige Fließsysteme entwickelt werden. Die CM-Methode hat sich in dieser Kombination als robuste und leicht automatisierbare Probenvorbereitung erwiesen, da in die Chromatomembranzelle stets die kontinuierliche Extraktion, die Vorkonzentrierung und die Phasentrennung integriert werden können. Störungen infolge schlechter Mischbarkeit des unpolaren Extraktionsmittels mit dem relativ polaren Eluenten konnten durch Verdampfen des Extraktionsmittels vor der Injektion der Proben verhindern werden. Die Messungen konnten die guten Anwendungsmöglichkeiten der CM-Methode bei der Vorbereitung pharmazeutischer Proben für die HPLC bestätigen. Aus nur 10 mL wässriger Probe konnten für ETE und LEV jeweils Anreicherungen um den Faktor 72 erzielt werden. Die Kalibrierung erfolgte im Konzentrationsbereich von 20 bis 120 ng mL-1 (ETE) und von 10.3 bis 103.0 ng mL-1 (LEV). Der Korrelationskoeffizient beträgt >0.99. Die Reproduzierbarkeit der Methode wurde durch mehrfache Messung der Peakhöhen von ETE (60 ng mL-1) und LEV (72.1 ng mL-1) ermittelt. Die relative Standardabweichung liegt für ETE (n=20) bzw. LEV (n=10) jeweils unterhalb von 3%. Bei Verwendung einer Falle liegen die Nachweisgrenzen für ETE bei 0.47 ng mL-1 bzw. für LEV bei 0.26 ng mL-1. Sie liegen also deutlich unterhalb der Nachweisgrenzen der im amtlichen (USA) Arzneibuch angegebenen Standard-Verfahren. Bei Verwendung größerer Probenmengen lassen sich die Nachweisgrenzen weiter verringern bzw. die Anreicherungsfaktoren erhöhen. Die vorgeschlagene Methode ist für die Bestimmung von ETE und LEV in Arzneimittelinhaltsstoffen verwendet worden. Die Wiederfindung liegt zwischen 90.27 und 107.67%. Auch bei der Bestimmung von Zink und Kupfer in Arzneimittelinhaltsstoffen ließ sich die Kopplung von CM-Methode und Spektrophotometrie problemlos realisieren. Auch hierbei werden Extraktion, Vorkonzentrierung und Phasentrennung als Vorbereitung zur spektrometrischen Bestimmung kombiniert. Außerdem sind automatisierte Bestimmungen mit Hilfe einer Software für das verwendete FIA-System möglich. Wegen des Wegfalls zahlreicher manueller Arbeitschritte, sowie dem Einsatz kleiner Proben- und Reagenzmengen wird gegenüber anderen Analyseverfahren eine hohe Wirtschaftlichkeit erreicht . Der Hauptvorteil des vorgestellten Systems ist seine Flexibilität. Die Vorkonzentrierung der Analyten lässt sich entweder durch Änderung der Probenflussrate oder durch Änderung der Anreicherungszeit erreichen.
