Background: Studies show a significant increase in frailty prevalence among older adults worldwide. Fortunately, several well-established and user-friendly screening tools can effectively identify frailty in older adults. Objectives: This article examines the Clinical Frailty Scale's effectiveness in informing treatment decisions for older adults in ambulatory care settings, analyzing its potential to improve patient care. Methods: On April 1, 2024, the PubMed database was searched for articles on the Clinical Frailty Scale in elderly patients. The 116 most pertinent and current articles, written in English and published within the past few years, were analyzed, and 38 were selected and categorized by content and topic. Limitations: This study is limited because it is not a meta-analysis and thus does not examine the quality of the evidence presented in each article. Conclusions: Frailty research has illuminated aging and its potential biological causes. The Clinical Frailty Scale effectively identifies vulnerable individuals. The sural nerve provides sensory innervation to the skin on the distal posterolateral third of the lower extremity. The morphological variants are characterized by high variability. However, it most commonly arises from a union of the medial sural cutaneous nerve and the peroneal communicating branch of the common fibular nerve. This article overviews the anatomical and clinical significance of the sural nerve. Despite the remarkable development of genetic diagnostics, sural nerve biopsy is still a very important tool to diagnose peripheral neuropathies such as diabetic, vascular and inflammatory neuropathies. Furthermore, the sural nerve is also commonly transplanted due to its characteristics. Such a procedure is applicable in cases of segmental nerve loss, but it is also used to restore potency in patients after radical prostatectomy. The knowledge of anatomical variants of the sural nerve is also crucial as it allows to minimize its damage during surgical procedures. Furthermore, during an ankle surgery, a nerve block can be used to complement anesthesia. Introduction: A urinalysis is a simple diagnostic test which is used to detect wide range of disorders including urinary tract infections, kidney disease and diabetes. Moreover, it can be an useful tool to monitor a medical condition. A urine analysis might be a part of routine medical exam in order to check patient's health condition but it is not recommended as a preventive screening test in the population. We believe that this article will contribute to spreading important knowledge especially in primary care. Aim of the study: The aim of the article is to collect and summarize basic information on urinalysis. We collected elemental information about routine urine examination, which includes assessment of physical properties, chemical properties and sediment composition. This knowledge is useful in the daily practice of a primary care doctor. Material and methods: Literature available in the PubMed database, ScienceDirect and ClinicalKey was reviewed using the following keywords: "Urinalysis"; "Urine sediment", "Urinary tract infection" Conclusions: The ability of proper urine analysis is crucial in clinical practice. Performing the test is technically simple and widely available. It is important to be aware of the limitations of urine analysis. Background: Folliculitis decalvans (FD) is a rare subtype of neutrophilic cicatricial alopecia, firstly described by Quinquad in 1888, as inflammatory scalp disease usually affecting young adults. The exact etiopathology of the disease is not fully understood, however the presence of Staphylococcus aureus, dysfunction of the host's immune response, genetic factors, previous trauma of the scalp, as well as Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor inhibitors (EGFRi) use seem to play a role. Clinically, FD presents with scarring alopecic patches with follicular pustules, crusts and tufted hair. Objectives: As the full etiology of the disease is unknown and most data in the literature is based on retrospective date, therapeutic management is not precisely established. The objective of this review is to describe therapeutic options, as well as highlighting potential new therapeutic modalities reported in the literature. Limitations: Because FD is a rare disease, the main limitation is lack of randomized control trials, evaluating therapeutic modalities. Methods: An exhaustive search of references related to FD published in PubMed between 2017 and 2024 was undertaken, using the search term: "folliculitis decalvans". Articles with large patient cohorts and reviews were included, as well as case reports and case series, that reported novel treatment approaches for FD. Conclusions: The management of FD poses a challenge. Systemic antibiotics, particularly rifampicin and clindamycin, are considered the first-line agents and are commonly used in combination with local therapies. Systemic isotretinoin yields sustained remission in some cases, while biological agents exhibit promise in managing severe FD. Novel therapeutic modalities, incorporating, among others, botulinum toxin A injections, Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP), or surgical procedures, necessitate randomized double-blind trials to evaluate their safety and efficacy. Aim of the study: The aim of this study is to explore the diverse health consequences of OSAS and highlight the importance of early recognition, accurate diagnosis, and tailored interventions for managing this sleep disorder effectively. Introduction: Severe asthma is a chronic respiratory condition that affects a significant number of individuals, causing persistent inflammation of the airways and leading to recurrent symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. While conventional asthma treatments, including inhaled corticosteroids and bronchodilators, are generally effective for most asthma patients, they may not always provide sufficient relief for individuals with severe asthma. In such cases, the use of biologic agents licensed specifically for severe asthma can be a valuable treatment option. Aim of the study: This article aims to explore the different biologic agents licensed for severe asthma and delve into their effectiveness in managing this complex and challenging condition. Material and methods: Literature available in the PubMed database was reviewed using the following keywords: biologic agents for asthma; omalizumab; mepolizumab; bernalizumab; tezepelumab; monoclonal antibodies. Conclusions: These medications are designed to target the underlying mechanisms of severe asthma, addressing the root causes of the condition rather than just managing the symptoms. As a result, they have shown promising results in improving symptoms and reducing exacerbations in individuals with severe asthma. The respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is responsible for a great deal of lower respiratory tract infections in infants, which result in hospitalizations and death in extreme cases. Almost all children have been infected by the time they turn two years old, but the most vulnerable to developing medical complications are preemies and infants with congenital heart diseases. Understanding the function of RSV F (fusion) protein turned out to be crucial in developing immunoprophylactic drugs, such as Palivizumab and Nirsevimab. Due to limited options of treatment, the search for optimal prophylactic strategy is expanding. This includes monoclonal antibodies and mRNA vaccines. The axillary arch muscle, also called Langer’s muscle, axillopectoralis, or pectodorsalis, is a muscular variation of the latissimus dorsi muscle. During a standard anatomical dissection, the axillary arch muscle was found bilaterally. On both sides it originated from the latissimus dorsi as a muscle belly. Next it passed into wide tendinous structure attached to the tendon of the pectoralis major muscle. Then, a narrow tendinous slip inserted into the coracoid process was found. The axillary arch muscle was innervated by the thoracodorsal nerve on both sides. Knowledge about morphological variations in this region is important because there is a direct relationship with neurovascular structures, e.g. ending branches of the brachial plexus, which may lead to paraesthesia or muscle weakness. The present paper uses the developed model of the influence of partnering relations on the time, cost, quality and safety of implementation of construction projects. On its basis, a questionnaire has been created and a preliminary survey has been conducted. The paper presents an analysis of correlations between the level of partnering relations in the context of the partnering measures indicated in the model and their influence on the time, cost, quality and safety of implementation of construction projects. The analysis was conducted based on the data collected in 52 construction projects. The values of the Spearman rank correlation coefficient and the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient have been calculated for the examined relations. The analysis allowed for indicating the measures of partnering whose improvement most often brings benefits with regard to the time, cost, quality and safety of implementation of construction projects. Among the 80 analysed correlations, the ones identified as strong were: 15 relations connected with the time, 8 with the cost, 5 with the quality and 1 with the safety of implementation of construction projects.
